"No!" ...

--Chapter One--

--A new start to the same old thing--

"No!" I screamed, wailing myself up from the recurring nightmare. I have been having that dream for almost two years now. It started around the time of my parent's deaths. I don't really remember how they died, or how I ended up in the town of Green Leaf, I only know what I had been told. I was apparently so grief stricken over there death, that I had suppressed the memories of there death, and the move to this town....I just don't know what to think or believe.

"From the memories I have of Garondo, this place is so different it's not even funny. I mean, I have herd the stories of other continents, but none of them can complain to this. I have yet to see another SkyWalker, all I see are humans. They have such strange customs, and they look so funny. They don't have any wings, or tails, and the only fur they have is on their heads. To each their own, I guess.

I slide out of bed, and didn't bother with putting on my pjs, I knew that I was the only one home. My 'parents' Sera, and Max are at work. I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge, looking for something to eat.

"Blue! What are you doing?" Asked Amy, who had snuck into the house somehow. I couldn't figure it out she was doing it, I was beginning to think that she had a key or something.

"Why do you do that to me?" I barked at her, as I turned to face her. She's, what one would call a normal human. Blond hair, and blue eyes. She is one of the few friends that I have in the town. "I'm going to tie bells around your ankles."

"Your no fun, you wont let me play with your tails, you wont fly me anyplace. Your so mean to me." She said playing around with me.

"I'm taking you to the ruins, that should be enough to make you happy." I said rolling my eyes.

"Your finally taking me!" She said almost yelling.

"You humans are so odd. Let me get ready." I told her, realizing I was really under dressed. I went back to my room and got dressed. A T-shirt and a pair of jeans was all that I needed. All my clothes had to be made special for me, with holes for my tails and wings. As I walked out of my room, I saw my reflection in the mirror. I'm a normal Skywalker. My black tipped ears poking through my long blond hair, my bangs are black, and natural. My large dark gray wings, held close to my body. My cherry red, blue, white, and black fur shone in the morning light. I picked up my sword as I left the room.

"Hurry up, your so slow. Those big wings slow you down." Amy said standing at the front door, tapping her foot.

"Bite me." I said as we went outside and started the long walk to the ruins.

The ruins, are just a small group of buildings, that are falling apart. There filled with lots of odd machines, books, and locked doors. The odd thing is, I get a bad case of deja vu whenever I enter the buildings. I know it's not from going to them so often.

"So, Blue. What's your home town like?" Amy asked as we walked down the sun drenched path. She had asked me this many time in the past, but I somehow managed to get around having to answer it.

"Garondo, it's the only town on the whole northern island. We," I stopped, trying to hold my emotions at bay. "lived outside the town, near the beach. Just think of this town covered in snow all the time, and that's pretty much what Garondo looks like." I said walking on, keeping my emotions to myself.

"I know you must miss them, but at least you know that their watching over you." she said trying to make me feel better.

"Yeah, I miss them, but I have you, Sera, Max, and Berry." I said trying to smile.

"Hay where are you two love birds going?" Berry called out as he ran up the path.

"You say his name and he appears." I said shrugging my shoulders.

"We're not love birds, Blue is too much of a brother to me." She said.

"Come on you two, we need to get to the ruins before it gets to late." I said as I went on ahead.

"Blue, you only think of me as a sister...right?" She asked looking at me.

"More like a pain." I said smiling.

"Your mean." She said nudging me.

"Bite me." I said rolling my eyes.

"You two act more like a mom and a dad." Berry said snickering.

"Bite me." I said giving him a funny look.

"Blue's to mean to be my boyfriend." Amy said giving both of us a funny look.

"Bite me." I said as we finally got to the ruins.

"What is that?" Berry asked pointing to a sharp vine that was sitting at the front door of the ruins.

"That's a sharp vine, think of it as a rose bush with a bad attitude." Amy said as she pulled her knife from it's sheath.

"All you have to do is go for the core." I said drawing my sword.

"This is my chance to try out my magic." Berry said smiling.

"Me and Amy will take point, Berry you give support." I said taking my stance. "On three.....one.....two....now!" I as I rushed the sharp vine. The monster fought back, lashing it's many tentacles at me and Amy. This forced us to focus on trying to dodge or cut the vines.

"Oh great fire, come and burn my enemies!" Berry said as a pair of fireballs flew at the sharp vine's core, hitting it and setting it on fire. "I didn't think that would work." He said smiling and wiping the sweet from his brow.

"You have to teach me that." Amy said hopefully.

"How you humans use magic in the first place, amazes me." I said entering the code for the door. I didn't know how, or why I knew the code, I just did. The door slid open with the sound of metal scraping metal. I hated the sound for some reason, it didn't bother Amy or Berry. The three of us walked in and started to look around. I had been here a few times in the past, and had covered most of the grounds. It wasn't a lot of work, most of the doors were locked or just broken.

"So it this all there is to this place?" Amy asked looking around what we thought to be the reception room.

"No, there's more to it, you just have to know where to look. So follow me." I said leading them down a hallway, passing a few rooms that I had been in all ready, and only found books, that made no sense to me. "This is the only room that I haven't been in, so I don't even know what's in here." I said pushing the door opening, and seeing that it leads into a large, round room, the walls lined with file cabinets and book shelves. A lot of the books and the contents of the folders where scattered across the floor.

"Wow, a room full of books and papers, I feel like I'm back at school." Berry said walking around the room, to the closest book shelf.

"I bet we can find out what this building was used for." Amy said looking over one of the book shelves, taking one of the books from the shelf, and flipping through it. We all branched out and started looking around. Berry only really acted like he was looking around. After a bit of searching Amy called us over the where she was. "You two might want to look at this." She said showing us a book.

"What did you find. Something good I hope." Berry said walking over, followed by me.

"I think it's pretty good." She said showing us the cover of the book.

"The Asura Project." I said reading the cover. "Asuras are a group of power hungry deities." I said thinking back to my history lessons in Garondo.

"Listen to this." Amy said. "The goal of the Asura Project is to create the perfect living weapons. One with the ability to take out an arm of enemies, all alone. Up to now, all the test subject have gone crazy and lost control of there powers, and had to be disposed of." Amy read out loud.

"Wow. So by that book, this place was used to turn people into monsters? I wonder why it was so close to town. Do you think it had anything to do with all the disappearances we had years ago?" I said thinking out loud.

"The two may be connected, but there's not enough to prove it....yet. Then again Green Leaf could have been founded after the building was deserted." Berry said looking over at me.

"Well, what else does it say?" I asked looking back at Amy, who was totally lost in the book.

"This is something big." She said looking through the pages. "Listen to this. Project name, The Silver Asura. Real name, Silver Frostpaw. Age, six (in human years, real age is not known.) Nationality, Northern islander. Notes, the subject seems to be special. He is also the first of the SkyWalker people that we have tested. It seems that there immune to the berserker effects, this combined with there natural magical powers. All that combined, help to make the process smoother and in the end breed a stronger Asura. That's where the report ends. The rest of it is unreadable." She said looking up at me. "Blue isn't your last name Frostpaw?" She asked looking at me with a confused look on her face.

"Yeah." was all that I could say. My head was spinning from all the information.

"It might be someone that your related to." She said looking over at Berry, who was just as confused as me.

"I think it's me, that the report was talking about. My first name is Silver, that and we all know that I lived on the Northern Island, before my parents died." I said, my voice shaking a bit.

"Going by that, you don't seem like you have any powers, and your an ok fighter, but nothing like the report says. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but you cant even use magic." Berry said trying to prove that it was someone else.

"The reason that I cant use magic, is because, no one has ever showed me how to. Normally, as a cub older the mother and father will start teaching it. The magic it learns is the magic that has been passed down through the generations." I said with a sigh.

"Like a moth is drawn to flame, fate has brought you back to the place that it all started." A deep, rough voice echoing through the room.

"Wait, who's there?" I asked looking around, and drawing my sword.

"I guess you can call me your maker. I'm the one that gave you the powers that lie sleeping inside you. I created the first working Asura." The voice said.

"What powers, created me? What the hell are you talking about?" I asked looking around the room, starting to worry.

"Blue, we need to get out of here." Amy said starting to head for the door, followed by Berry.

"The three of you aren't going anywhere. I have Silver, and two new test subjects." The voice called out.

"Your crazy, I don't have any powers or anything like in the report." I said still looking around the room.

"So you have repressed your past, you know deep down, that its all true. We the Deva, killed your parents, and turned you into a monster." He said laughing like a mad man.

"Why don't you show your self, Ill put an end to you insanity." I said as I felt a strange feeling of power washing over me.

"I'm not crazy! Its all true, you'll come to find that out soon enough." The voice said as a human dressed in white robes grabbed and threw Amy across the room. Berry manage to catch her. "Even if you kill me, the moment your powers awaken, the Deva will hunt you down, and we wont stop till your one of us, or dead." The man said walking forward.

"If you knew your history, you would know that the Asura always beat the Deva." I said smiling. "And it looks like I'm going to get to prove it to you, and get revenge for what you did to my parents." I said as I felt the feeling of power and pride growing stronger.

"That shimmer in your eyes. Your powers have awakened." He said smiling and drawing his sword. "Your lucky, that your such a rare subject, so I'm not going to kill you. Ill become famous, just for being the one that brings you in." He said smiling.

"Just shut up." I said, anger welling up inside of me. I rushed forward, my sword ready. He blocked the attack, but our swords meet with such a great force, sparked rained down. I jumped back and smiled. "You know, I like this feeling of power." I said as I rushed him again, and like the last time our blades meet each other. With a flash of his blade he spun around and his sword cut into my arm. The pain only fueling my rage.

"Your powers have awakened, but you cant control them yet, what a shame." He said as our swords meets again, this time with more force, my sword sliced through his, as if it was made of paper. My sword cutting into the human's skull, killing him almost instantly. I stood there looking at the body. I suddenly started shaking all over, the world slowly starting growing dark.

"Blue, Blue are you all right?" I herd Amy's voice calling out, as my body going numb and falling to the floor.

I remember floating through the darkness, for what seemed like forever. I started questioning myself, wondering if it was all just some nightmare. Thoughts floating through my head. Am I a monster? Is what he said true? Did that really happen, was it all a dream?

"Blue, please wake up." I herd Amy's voice cutting through the darkness. I slowly started to come back around.

"What time is it?" I asked rubbing my eyes, and seeing that I was back in my room. "What happened?" I asked looking around.

"You got into a fight with a human at the ruins, and you killed him, and passed out after the fight." Amy said hugging me again.

"Yeah, you ended up sleeping all night." Berry said smiling

"Do you think that I'm a monster? I mean I did kill that man." I said remembering that, and the information from the reports.

"Your to nice to be a monster. Besides you had to kill that mad man, if you hadn't, there's no telling what he would have done to us. I know that you wouldn't hurt any of us." Amy said smiling. "Besides, right now is not the time to worry about something like that, today's is your birthday."

"Yeah, your right, Ill try not to think about it." I said getting up. "Ill meet you two in the living room, I need to change into something clean." I said realizing that I was still in the clothes that I was wearing the other day. I ended up changing into a light blue shirt, and some jeans, and brushed my hair and tails, and then headed out. It was the twenty first day of the summer sun, my birthday. I went out to the living room to see Max, Sera, Amy, Berry, and some of the others that lived in the town.

The party was fun, everyone had set up games, and made a cake, and got me gifts. This was something that I wasn't used to. Humans did things differently. In Garondo we just had a big dinner. Oh well, it was fun.

"Blue, its time to open your gifts." Sera said calling me over to the couch. I sat down and opened the gifts they handed me. I got lots of clothes and books.

"Now Blue, this is a special gift. It was something that was in your belongings when you moved here." Max said as he handed me a long box. I took it, and made short work of the paper that covered the box. In side was a vary elegant sword, made of silver and gold. It was a single sided blade, with a moon emblem, with wings wrapped around it. This was the symbol of the SkyWalkers, my people. I was taken back, and almost started to cry. "It was something your parents had gotten to give to you for your eighth birthday." Max said smiling.

"Thank you." I managed to say, my voice shaking a bit. The rest of the party wen of like a normal party. We all sat around talking, eating cake, and food. The party lasted late into the night. All the guest found there ways home, and I finally found my way into my bed, and fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow.
