A Furry World - Part 3 Jobs and Mobs
Hey can someone open the door for me?!" I shouted while holding what looked like a giant rolled up marshmallow. I had spent nearly all the money I had left after paying the rent too finally buy a proper sleeping futon I was broke but my back already felt broken from sleeping on that mattress.
The bad frames had been moved out of me and Liaka's rooms she would get both mattresses till she could also get a futon.
The door opened and Cornè poked his head out. He was as scared as ever but soon got out of the way and let me in. "You got a letter today I pushed it under your door" he said as he followed me up. I finally got it into the room and laid it down then fell down upon it and sighed "much better" I murmured.
After a few minute I got up and started to undress. About a week after Laika moved in new rule was created "All furries may be dressed as they see fit while they are upstairs and there curtains drawn". Laika and I really appreciated this rule since it meant we didn't have to wear those stupid pants and I always felt better without a top on. I chuckled and remember the first day the others saw me like this.
I had just shower and had only put a towel over my back covering my sheath from view when Alex walked in "Sorry Laika I thought it was Lupus's turn in the bathroom" "but I'm over here" said Laika from what sounded like the kitchen. Alex just stared you could almost see the smoke coming out of his ears as he tried to work out what he was seeing. "It's me Lupus" I said with a smirk just as Laika, Cornè and daisy (the deer doe) peered through the door. "How can that be lupus is a guy?" Alex almost shouted. I stood there feeling four pairs of eyes drilling into me and heaving a huge sigh I took of the towel so they could all see my sheath but before I could respond Cornè shouted "he's a shemale". "Wrong" and I quickly turned and lifted my tail revealing my vagina "I'm a hermaphrodite" I said turning to face them again. Just then Kristy showed up "I will explain. Lupus you go get dressed". A few minutes later when I entered the kitchen everybody just stared.
I woke out of my daydream when I heard the kettle whistling and was almost out the door when I stepped on the letter. I opened and read it then dropped it down on the floor as I ran out my room and down the stairs and over to Kristy who I grabbed into a tight hug "I got a job, I got a job" I nearly sang as I jumped around Kristy in my arms.
That night we held a small feast "Let me be the first and not the last of us to find a job" I said and we all toasted to that.
It was like my words had magic and in the next month we all had jobs Alex and daisy got work at a local club. Alex was the new DJ and daisy worked as a hostess. Cornè got a job as a assistant at a small lawyer firm and Laika was a secretary at car dealership. I had gotten the dayshift at a DVD rental shop. I decided to get up early every morning to shower and I had on the first day decided to make breakfast which got me the job of unofficial breakfast cook and Laika became the dinner cook.
Since I got home a bit early every day I helped Kristy around the store and it was on this day that I learned how much some humans hated us.
I was busy dusting a display case when my empathic senses started twanging like a bow string. I stood still and I could hear a lot of people shouting I could feel anger and hatred but the sense of fear stood out like a flood light in the dark. I opened the door and a reddish blur shot under my arm. I didn't have time to follow it when seven men all waving a bat or a piece of pipe tried to get into the shop. "Hey freak get out of the way or we will have to fuck you up" one guy said grinning evilly. I reared up onto my hind legs my hand paw holding onto the door frame and my hackles raised showing my fangs "Try it and we will see who bleed first" I growled my limited control over my empathic sense making it impossible not to feel their dark emotions. They all backed away three dropped their weapons and ran. "Look here I'm not scared give us back our pet and we will leave you alone" the same guy said loudly which didn't hide the fear in his voice. I gave a loud feral growl "Furries aren't pets" my claws sliding out "now get out of here or I will claw you too shreds" I said with barely contained anger my tail whipping around behind me. With that they all ran and I stood in the door breathing hard trying to calm down.
After a few minutes I got back down onto all fours and turned around seeing the others with looks of shock and fear on their faces but I went to look for the furry that ran past me it wasn't hard to find curled up between two book shelves. I nearly lost my hand as it tried to bite me as I reached for it. I tried again using what skill I had to project kindness and caring to it. It must have worked and it uncurled revealing that it was a she. She was a young fox by the look of her, her fur had a strange pink tinge to the red and even the white fur between her breasts and what I could see of her stomach also had the pink tinge. The gloves, socks and tail lip were black and her green eyes showed pain. I reached under her and picked her up feeling her body shack at my touch. "It's ok now their gone" I said in as kind a voices as I could but she just curled into a ball again "I'm lupus and your names is?" "Candy" she whispered the passed out. I walked past the others and up the stairs then to my room laying her on the futon. As she uncurled onto the futon I got a big surprise she was a shi.
