A loud ear piercing whistle entered the ears of all the furs chatting amongst themselves, and forced them to stand in attention. The coach, a large lion, with a tank top and shorts stood there, whistle still in his mouth. "Okay everyone, you all know the drill. Since the class is so large, we have to split into two groups" the coach said staring at the group of fifty some odd furs. He then held out his hand and said, "This side will run ten laps," and them he moved his hand to the other side, "and this side will do their stretches until most of the other group has completed their laps, and then you will switch." The coach then inhaled deeply and blew hard on the whistle, making some of the furs who went back to talking amongst themselves and weren't really paying attention hold their ears. "And begin!"

The assigned groups began their exercises among the group of runners a timber wolf and a brown bear. The wolf, average sized, and mildly toned in the chest area, very noticeable since his gym outfit was quite tight to his body His shorts were rather tight, hugging his large rump nicely. His fur was unusually long for a wolf and trimmed at the edges, feathering it out beautifully like an eagle spreading its wings. The bear was wearing a trainer's bra and was wearing a very short pair of gym shorts. She was small for a bear since she always watched her weight and worked out a lot. Parts of her fur were colored in unnatural tones of red, blue, and green like a holiday decoration gathering. They quickly took the lead of the running group since they were on the varsity track and field team. As they ran they talked about the usual thing, who's cute, and who should date who.

"So who do you want to get to "know" Michael? As you know, I've got connections to everyone in this school," said the bear with a wink.

"Well Stephanie, I actually do have someone in mind, and he is in this class." replied the wolf with a smile.

Stephanie raised her right eyebrow up high. "Oh really? Well who is it? That sexy horse that's been eyeing you like no tomorrow? The Cute little husky with those vibrant green eyes? Who? Come on."

"Well, if you must know, it's that muscular otter over there," Michael said, pointing with his muzzle in the direction of the students stretching.

The otter had a fur that was as dark as the night sky, but glistened like a crystal cave when the sun shined on it the right way. He wasn't wearing a shirt as he usually did, showing off a muscular torso with arms that looked like they could bench press a car. He was a part of the school varsity swimming and diving team. Michael went to the competitions, saying that it was for the sport, but he really went to watch his otter crush.

"Why don't you just go over and talk to Michael for once," said a white rabbit smacking the otter in the back of his head.

"Ow! Damn Amanda" said the otter rubbing the back of his head as he got out of his stretching position. "You freaking' Amazon."

"Oh come on you pansy," said Amanda with a smile on her face. "Why don't you ever even attempt to talk to him Trevor? I know you like him. You stare at his ass every time he passes you in a lap."

"I do not!" replied Trevor. The group passed by doing their sixth lap. Trevor's head just happened to turn with them, his eyes fixated on the swaying tail region of Michael. A smile spread across his face.

Amanda's white paw gripping Trevor's face and forcing it to look at hers and said, "Yea, and I am so not into chicks."

"You mean your not? When did this happen?" Trevor said sarcastically with a smile across his face jokingly.

Amanda smacked Trevor in the back of his head again. "Just go talk to him. Don't let me start it off. I'll just tell him that you can't stand it anymore and you want to yiff him so bad and you want to meet him in the shower."

"Ha, ha. Very funny, though the thought has crossed my mind once or twice before," Trevor said smiling as his eyes continued to watch Michael run around the track. "Who's that brown bear with the funky highlights running with him?"

Amanda squinted her eyes and looked out attempting to find this bear. She spots her and jerks up quickly. "Oh! That's Stephanie. Valley girl extraordinaire. Didn't know they knew each other." Amanda was quiet for a moment, until an idea popped into her head and she grabbed Trevor by his head fur and pulled him closer. "I got an idea! Why don't I sneak on in and ask if Michael'll talk to you?"

Trevor broke free of her grasp and began to fix his fur. "Go on ahead. It's your idea, I have no objections." Trevor said as he went back to his stretches.

All Amanda could do was smile as she grinned at Trevor.

**********

Michael and Stephanie were on their last lap; they were sweating crazily and panting heavily.

"So, what's your plan? Are you going approach him or are you going to let him approach you?" Stephanie asked as she began to slow down, ready to stop.

"I really don't know, what you think I should do?" asked Michael as he lifted his head and shook the sweat off his fur.

Stephanie started to giggle as she elbowed the unaware wolf of his prayers being answered.

"Would you stop elbowing me?" Michael said still with his head in the air as he ran. The bear continued. "What do you want?" Michael then said with a growl in his voice, glaring at Stephanie. She then grabbed his head and forced it forward to see a rabbit dragging Michael's crush. "Uh oh, that's them! What do I do? What do I say?"

"Shut up and control yourself," Stephanie said as she attempted to smack the panicking wolf, but was stopped by the wolf's paw, foreseeing her usual attempts. "So, you learn eh?" she said smiling. "Well you better learn how to talk to your little otter fast too."

Stephanie began to laugh as she smiled as she waved at Trevor and Amanda as they approached. Amanda was returning the same actions, but Michael and Trevor were sweating so much they could have collapsed of dehydration. They both smiled, but fear was written all over their faces.

Stephanie and Michael stopped running to catch their breath as Amanda and Trevor ran in their direction for an inevitable conversation. Stephanie continued to wave as she smiled and looked at Michael who was sweating even more than he did usually, and it wasn't from running. Stephanie placed her paw on his head and rubbed his fur, messing it up and said, "Calm down hunny. It's going to be alright. You wanted to meet him, and now you can." Michael could only glare back, hoping that the situation could possibly be avoided. He wasn't ready to approach Trevor yet.

"But what should I say? I'm so freaking scared right now. Hell, I'm struggling to keep my tail from in between my legs!" Michael was panicking so much, he could have fainted that instant.

"Don't worry; you'll know what to say. Let it come to you, and don't worry about Amanda, I'll keep her busy," Stephanie said with a wink.

They both looked back at the rabbit and otter that were closing in on them; Stephanie continued to wave, while Michael wiped his fur and began to smile and wave.

**********

Amanda continued dragging Trevor by his fur as he tried to break free.

"Can you please let go of my fur! It's starting to hurt," Trevor pleaded smacking at Amanda's paw.

"Hell no!" Amanda said with a smile as she looked back at him. "If I do, you will surely run back with the others and hide like you usually do when you get close to something this good."

Trevor managed to break free. He fixed the fur on his head that was nearly pulled out from the roots by his bunny friend, but not even for a second she grabbed him by the wrist and continued to head in the bear and future, possible hubby wolf of her little otter. "You ready!" asked Amanda, knowing that Trevor didn't have a choice in the matter.

"I guess here I go," sighed Trevor as he smiled and picked up speed to match Amanda's.

The four finally crossed paths. Amanda and Trevor quickly turned around. Amanda ran to the opposite side of Stephanie, as she forced Trevor next to Michael.

"Hi" Amanda said in a cheery voice as she reached her paw out to Stephanie. "I'm Ama..."

"Amanda," Stephanie interrupted. "You're in my math class with Mr. Longtail. I'm Stephanie, and this is my good friend..."

"Michael!" Trevor said in a high pitched voice as he interrupted Amanda. "You're on the track team"

"Yea," said Michael with a smile on his face. "Stephanie and I are on the varsity team. And you're Trevor, the top swimmer for our team."

"Yeah," Trevor said now blushing bright red. He never thought he would actually be talking to the crush of his life. "I've watched you in competitions. You're really fast."

Michael was now blushing as red as Trevor since he was in the same predicament as his otter crush. He laughed and said, "Well, I've watched you swim. You're amazing, and you look so ho..." He quickly stopped himself and continued with a new choice of words. "You do amazing, and are the best I've ever seen." Michael and Trevor were now blushing as bright as the sun. They continued to talk as ran around the track.

**********

Amanda and Stephanie managed to sneak away from the two, allowing them to flourish and bloom a possible connection that seemed unstoppable. They ran to the side where the rest of the class was stretching. They went into the corner so that if Michael or Trevor looked back for them, they would not be seen.

"So," Stephanie said smiling as she attempted to catch her breath. "You're little otter friend Trevor likes my wolfy eh?"

"I see you've noticed," Amanda replied with a smile. "Same goes for your wolfy. He seems to have a thing for Trevor."

"Yeah," Stephanie said as she rose to proper position. "He just told me this today, and I wanted to get them to at least talk."

The two girls began to laugh. "Same here," said Amanda. "I always catch Trevor checking Michael out, but he has been too afraid to even talk to him. I had to try something to spark things."

"We'll I guess we did a job well done. Mission accomplished!" The girls smiled and initiated a high five. They then laughed as they watched the two possible future lovers.

**********

Michael and Trevor continued to talk as they ran around the track. They laughed and smiled, enjoying each others company. They then heard the loud ear piercing whistle of the coach's attention grabber.

"Okay everyone. Bring it in. Class is over, time to shower off and head on out," shouted the lion.

Everyone had started to head for the stairs leading up to the school. Michael then halted Trevor, placing his paw on the otters shoulder.

"Let's take our time," Michael said. "If you don't mind of course." Michael began to blush once more as a smile grew on his face and a twinkle in his eye as he stared into Trevor's.

"Sure!" Trevor said, now blushing of the outburst he had accidentally brought on.

They smiled and went from a run to a slow walk.

**********

Amanda then looked out at the two as they walked from the far side of the track. She had a smile on her face and began to laugh.

"What is it?" asked Stephanie as she collected her stuff from the fence. "What's so funny?"

Amanda pointed to the two furs, obviously falling for each other.

"Looks like they are thinking of making a move," Amanda said as she continued to laugh.

"Oh boys," Stephanie said as she joined Amanda in laughter. "Question is who is going to make the first move?"

They looked at each other and began to walk up the stairs to the school with the rest of the class.

"Well, I guess we will have to wait till tomorrow morning," the girls said at the same time.

**********

When Michael and Trevor finally reached the stairs, they noticed that everyone was already inside the building. Trevor and Michael smiled to themselves.

"Finally, I can see if this is going to go as I intend it to, or if it will blow up in my face." Trevor thought to himself.

"I hope I am not wrong about this," Michael thought to himself.

They looked at each other and smiled, blushing for about the hundredth time since they met. It's now the moment of truth. Will they find love, or disaster?
