A Furry World - Part 2 Furries Come and People Go
It's been a week since the old man moved out and I was packing out some scrapbook kits when the bell rang and in stepped a wolf morph his brown grey fur clashing with the shirt and pants he was wearing. He had human like legs but that's where it stopped everything else was wolf from his dark grey tail to his gray brown ears. He walked over to me and asked in a voice almost a growl "are you Kristy. I want the room". I tried to smile and answered and pointed to the register "no she is over there". "You mean a human is letting you stay here" some surprise slipping into his growl "yes and if you can pay she will let you have the room". He stalked away and I continued my work keeping my mind and my senses on my work.
Half a hour later Kristy called me over "could you take mister Alex to the room" she said handing me the key. "Just call me Alex" Alex said in a much more relaxed tone his emotions also calmer. I guess he went through the same problem as me looking for a place to stay. "You can call me lupus"
"You're lucky" I said as I opened the door. The room was right next to the kitchen and across from the bathroom. He smiled "We can always swop". "No thanks I just got my room comfortable" returning the smile and leading him in. I gave him the tour and explained the house rule. "Breakfast is a 8 and dinner is at 7. Lunch is your own problem. Also..." I showed him a piece of paper tacked to the bathroom door "this is the shower schedule keep too it and always clean out the tub". I then turned around and we shook hands "welcome to our home".
The next morning I was woken up by a lot of shouting from the kitchen I got up left my room and started to walk down the hall the kitchen door was closed which was weird since in never was. When I opened it I was hit by a wall of sound and anger which sent my empathic senses reeling and I let out something like a roar. All the voices fell silent and I stared around breathing hard to get control back. "I'm sorry I was overwhelmed what's goin...". "Look it doesn't even have the manners to cover up and you tell me they are like us" shouted a young woman pointing at me I then realized I had forgotten to put on a top or even pants. I hurried to my room and got dressed. I rejoined everybody in the kitchen. Alex was there sitting on a chair away from everybody so I joined him sitting down on my haunches. Everybody looked at me "well what's going on here" I asked and was greeted by glares from the three humans seated at the table. The young woman spoke up again "It doesn't even say sorry". "She...he uhm lupus just made a small mistake you don't need to get so angry" Kristy almost pleaded with her. "I'm sorry" I interrupted "But all this fur makes me forget I don't have clothes on and you can call me shi Kristy". "It's too late now to say sorry" shouted the woman and turned to Kristy anger pouring out of her like water "It us or them either we leave or they leave" the other two nodding in agreement. At that point I snapped my own anger about being treated like this and her anger I was sensing pushed me over the edge "Than just fucking leave. There is a mile long list of furries who would want your rooms" I shouted only then did I realize I was up on my hind paws and my front paws were gripping the table. The woman just stared then she got up and left. At the door she turned and said in a deadly calm voice "I'm out as soon as I find another place I won't live in a zoo".
Later that day I called the facility and what I had simply shouted was true and there were tree furries ready to move in the day the rooms become available which was soon. The next day the young woman just packed her stuff and left without a word just demanding her deposit back.
It was two days later that the first new tenant arrived. A ginger cat morph called Cornè walk in the door his body covered on tiger like stripes but he walked like a cat worried that someone was going to throw a shoe at him. Except for that he was a nice guy and I also learned that he was also rescued out of South Africa just like me.
The other two left a week later together and the next day the new loggers showed up. First to arrive was a doe deer morph. She almost fainted when I greeted her and I quickly assured her that I get all my food from the supermarket like she does.
It was almost closing time when the last one arrived I was helping Kristy to put some of the stock away when a foxtaur vixen walked into the shop. I think my jaw actual hit the floor when I saw her and my heart nearly jumped out of my chest as I stared at her she was a normal foxtaur with black gloves and socks and hair almost as red as her fur but what made her different was the line of black fur that ran down her back to a black tip of her tail and her deep blue eyes. "Sorry is this the place with rooms for rent" she asked in a voice that could melt ice and make flowers blossom. I just stood there stuttering like an idiot and Kristy quickly stepped past me to greet her. The change was immediate her ears and tail dropped. The vixen looked scared of Kristy. Seeing this snapped me awake "Yes this is the place and this is the owner Kristy. Don't worry she is very kind". The vixen relaxed a bit but she still looked ready to run "By the way in Lupus and you are?" "I'm Laika" she said the question distracting her a bit then I felt a key being placed in my palm and saw Kristy shrugging to the stairs. "Let me show you your room but they are a bit snug for a taur" I said grinning.
Taking her hand I led her up the stairs to the room next to mine and gave her the tour. With her help we quickly rearranged her room like mine and I was about to leave when she pulled me back and gave me a long kissed after which both our ears glowed red. A while later I realized I was staring at a closed door and went to my room bumping into everything till I feel on the mattress my hip hitting the floor next to it "I need a job" I thought and laid there till Kristy called us all for dinner. As I walked to the kitchen I passed Laika who smiled then walked on. "I wonder if this will become more" I thought with a grin.
