Really quickly! Before anyone reads this and gets their flame on, the assignment said A-Z or Z-A. So this is Z-A because... pro.
Zealous cries pierce the air.
"Yeah... hi mom.... um... this is Kevin."
XX bars show about as much as we were.
"What is going on here?"
Verifying my fear, she calls my father.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, Kevin takes my hand.
"This'll all be alright," he comforts.
Stroking his hand, I find serenity.
"Ready to do this?" Kevin asks.
Quietly I nod.
Peace and quiet as we wait for Mom.
"Of course you're gay," Mom re-enters the room.
"Not really a surprise, Mom."
My stomach tenses as I wait for the response.
"Liking guys when you have a girlfriend is a surprise," Mom barks.
Kevin coughs, uncomfortably.
"Just wait until your father gets home young man."
"I don't see why this is a big deal!"
"How can you do this to us?!"
Growling, Kevin stands.
"For the love of God, it shouldn't be a problem!
Everyone can see that you still love your son!"
Denying it all, Mom turns and leaves.
Coming back a minute late, she tells me to leave.
"But Mom, I'm your son."
A cold shoulder is all the response I get.
