Remember (A Short Poem)
Just a short poem I wrote yesterday, I wanted to upload the raw, unedited cut as anything else would lose emotion.
REMEMBER
When we apologised more than we kissed?
When your arms were my final cradle, my deathbed?
When you coaxed me back to life, and I hated you for it?
When I said I love you
That one night
And I meant it with all my heart?
I don't know if I told you
But I waited until you were asleep to tell you.
You shocked me, when your sleepy self pulled me in
And whispered it back.
Remember when we met for the first time?
Remember how aloof I was,
And how your arms became my home
Quicker than anyone was ready for.
Remember.
