Faruk's Story Ch.2
Faruk awoke on a hard, cold floor. "Where am I?" he said to himself as he got himself up. "How did I even get here?"
As his sight came back to him, he could see he was in a room completely surrounded by concrete walls, with the exception of the weird red transparent wall, which must be the exit. Curious, he padded over to the red wall and touched it, only to receive a massive shock, making him sprawl to the ground in pain. Angry, he tried to summon up fire to blast the wall away, but found that it was ineffective.
"Damn it...looks like I won't be getting out soon." He sat down and tried to remember how he got there, but it was just blank. He couldn't even remember his name. "Well, I might as well have a look around."
He got up and sniffed the air, noticing the scent of fresh berries and water. He walked over to the water and took huge gulps from it. When he was done, he looked at his reflection and was stunned. In his reflection, he saw that his body was covered in blood and some of his fur was singed.
"How did this happen..." He tried so hard to remember, but it just didn't come to him. "I can't be looking like this." He started to clean himself, getting the dirt and blood off of him. After he was sure that every inch was clean, he found the berries and sniffed them curiously. He had learned to determine the scents of poisons and other hazardous stuff. Finding that they were safe, he started to gorge himself. He continued until every single berry was demolished. Feeling satisfied, he lay over next to a wall, starting to feel sleepy. As he lay there, he thought to himself "I don't know where I am or how I got here, but I have a feeling that I need to get out." But, feeling too tired to get back up, he fell into a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, in the camera room...
"How's our test subject finding his accommodations?" asked a cloaked figure that had just walked in from the door.
"He is doing fine sir. He just ate the berries and is asleep at the moment." said Zain, just a 16 year old that they took in to keep watch and help out in this horrible place.
"Good, good." The cloaked figure walked up to the camera and looked at the Arcanine, sleeping in the isolation chamber he had designed. "What a fine specimen, don't you think?" he asked Zain.
"Yes sir, he looks like a fine Arcanine indeed." He looked at the Arcanine, saddened that such a fine Pokemon was going to get tested on. "Sir, why do you guys do this. Haven't you already perfected whatever you are doing?"
"No, but we are very close." The cloaked figure looked at him. "But why does it matter to you? You dident bring you here and care for you to give you opinion, you're here to do as I tell you."
As Zain was about to protest, the intercom in the room boomed. "Mr. Conner, the test room is operational and ready to go."
The cloaked figure, Mr. Conner, looked up at the intercom "Alright, I will be there shortly." He turned to Zain. "I need you to go get the Arcanine and bring him to the testing room."
"Yes Mr. Conner." Zain said as he got up from the chair and walked out the door, heading towards the isolation chambers.
Mr. Conner turned back to look at the Arcanine on the screen. "I have a good feeling that this will be the final product of long research." As he looked one last time at the Arcanine, he left the room and started to head over to the testing room.
Zain walked down the hallways that lead to the isolation chambers. He walked to the door and opened it, revealing a room of mini-chambers. Since the Arcanine was the only Pokemon here, it was easy to find him. As he walked over to the chamber that held the Arcanine, he opened the door and walked in, looking at the Pokemon.
"Such a marvelous Pokemon" he thought as he watch him breath in and out. "It's too bad there going to do something horrible to you. I would save you, but then I would get kicked out, or worse."
He got a hover trolley from the wall outside the room and picked up the Arcanine to but him on it.
"Jeez man, you ever think of losing some pounds?" guessing that the he weighed several hundred pounds. As soon as he got the Arcanine on the trolley, he started pushing it out, the anti gravity propulsion making it easier to move him. He finally made to the testing room and pushed the intercom button next to the door.
"Password?" asked someone from inside.
"Darkness rules all" he said, remembering what they told him on his first day on the job.
The door slid open, allowing him to move inside with the Arcanine. The testing room looked completely different than the rest of the facility. There was a room with all sort of computers and other instruments. Then there was a room for the test subjects, which was just a littlie bit bigger, containing only vents.
As he moved in to the room, he was greeted by Mr. Conner, who had a very smug look on his face. "Go ahead and put him in the other room." I only nodded as I opened the door and placed the Arcanine on the floor. Then, as he was getting ready to leave the room, the doors suddenly closed in on him.
"Hey, what the fuck are you doing!" he yelled as Mr. Conner looked at him through the glass.
"We figured, since the research was just about to close, we would test it on a human being as well. And considering you have no family, you were the perfect kid to bring about."
Clenching his fist, Zain started banging on the glass yelling at the top of his lungs to get out. But try as he might, he just couldn't do it. Then he ran over to the Arcanine and tried to wake him up. After a lot of shoving and pushing, he finally blinked. He might be able to get out of here after all.
Faruk awoke to a human child shoving his pelt. He instinctively jumped up and bared his fangs at the boy, warning him to keep back. The boy threw up his arms, and then backed away slowly. As the boy did that, he started hearing someone say something over the intercom, but couldn't understand it. The boy looked over at the glass, then fell to his knees and started crying. Not wanting to get into human affairs, he kept his distance away from him. All of a sudden, the vent on the roof opened, and a dark, liquidly substance started pouring out of it. The boy looked at is and started running away from it, finding a corner to shrink too. The liquid was almost over there to the boy, and then it leapt at him. Faruk did something he thought he would never do. He jumped over in front of the boy and took the hit, getting covered in it. It burned him like crazy, the pain indescribable. He flailed on the floor as it covered him completely. Then it all got absorbed into him. He felt a terrible new power in him, but was too weak to do anything...
Zain looked at the Arcanine in horror as the ooze got absorbed by him. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. Were his stripes were black, they were replaced by a glowing purple. He dare not go over to him, in fear that he might attack. Mr. Conner then started talking through the intercom.
"What, the boy was to get it, not the Pokemon!" Then a scientist started to talking with Mr. Conner, but he forgot to turn off the mic, so Zain heard everything.
"Sir, I do not know why this happened. We were sure that the Arcanine was out cold..." A phone rang in the lab, and the scientist picked it up. He then gave a surprised look. Then he turned back to Mr. Conner. "Sir, I know this does not concern this project, but of another one close by. Apparently, they have a female Arcanine over there, and they just did the procedure there. Apparently, she is showing signs of telepathy, and can understand and talk with humans. Unfortunately, she is falling ill, just like the others. They just can't find the cause." The scientist turned and nodded at Faruk. "He is apparently the females mate, and found both of them by a den not to far from here. Said this guy put up quite a fight."
As Faruk was on the floor, recovering from what ever just attacked him, he heard the intercom start up and complain about the boy not getting hit. "Did I just understand that?" thought Faruk.
Then the voice continued over the intercom. Then he heard something about finding him with his mate by a den...All of a sudden, something snapped in his head, and he started growling as a strange power he had never felt before surge through him. He did not know why he was so furious, but that whatever they were talking about was very important to him. Faruk, enraged, did the last sane thing he could say before it had taken over him completely. "Boy, get on my back, NOW!!!" he yelled as he started losing control. The boy, startled that Faruk had just spoke to him, got on his back as instructed. As soon as the boy was on his back, Faruk felt the power take him, and a huge aura of darkness surrounded him. He saw that his pelt was changing color, it now being black, save for his purple strips and cream colored areas.
Mr.Conner was stuned as he watched what was happening in the other room. "H-h-how is he standing? This was not supposed to happen!" He turned to the scientist next to him. "I want this stopped, NOW!"
Sir, we have been trying. He is not being effected by the gas in there. I think we should get out of here, he looks like he is ready to blow."
Mr. Conner looked one last time at the power emitting from the Arcanine in there, and smiled. "I believe we have finally succeeded in the ultimate Pokemon..." then he turned and ran to the emergency exit, pulling it closed before the others could get in there. "Sorry guys, this is the end for you. You have served your purpose." Then he hit the eject button, getting launched into the air far away from the facility...
Faruk yelled "You will all die for what you have done!!!" and with that, he tapped in the strange new power, and brought a massive ball of darkness to his mouth. He then threw it at the glass, causing the ball to explode. There was a huge gap in the wall were he fired at. He took the chance to run outside and turn around at the building. He tapped into the power again, and brought a even bigger ball to his mouth. He flung it at the building, and watched as the ball impacted, making a huge explosion. As the smoked cleared, he looked to see that the building was completely obliterated, the only thing there being a huge crater. After that, he ran at super speed away from the place, and into the woods, where he finally started to calm down, losing energy by the second. Forgetting about the boy on top of him, he fell over and slipped into unconsciousness.
