#17 of Syngeneia Kathairein

You like dark fantasy, dragons, adventure and a bit of romance?

You want to see the work of a professional video game writer?

You find AI's interesting?

This story of mine has all of that! Syngeneia Kathairein puts you in the shoes of Entropion, a purple dragon tasked to ''make the world right again''. (although he is a jackass in this prequel intro!) The view is set in first person view from Entropion's POV. This story is inspired by warcraft, forgotten realms, spyro the dragon and dragon age, among other things. AIdungeon's makeup is a bit messy, but > arrows denote saying or doing something. Part of the story is AI generated, please keep that in mind.

Well, seems this is about what I can deliver weekly with both a writing and farm job. I hope you like it. xx

You, Koriza and Zalisi take to the skies to discuss your plan. "Hey Koriza, if Deimodo taught the Korizan military... you know how he thinks. Where do we start looking for high value prisoners?" You ask. "Hmm... Deimodo was a master of defense so he would hold the high value prisoners in his strongest forts. There are about 5." She says. You nod and say "let's try Fort Cypress first, it's closest." You head off to Fort Glory, it doesn't take long as you fly there at top speed. It's a large fort with multiple catapults on towers and many guards patrol around the walls. > You circle the fort from a safe distance and look for possible entry points. You decide to circle the fort from a safe distance and see what you can find. You notice a large sewer entrance and consider entering that way. > You say "Zalisi, can you use that water magic of yours to bubble us? I don't want to touch that river of excrement. " Zalisi smiles and forms a protective barrier around you and Koriza. You begin to descend into the sewers. The smell is unbearable and you float over pools of human waste. As you are traveling, a horrible stench wafts through the bubble. "Gross! What is that smell?" Koriza asks, crinkling her nose in disgust. Suddenly, you hear a splash. You turn around and see Zalisi falling into a pool of waste. > You say "Fuck! Zalisi, you alright? Physically I mean?!" Zalisi is covered in waste and looks very unhappy. She begins to cry and you look away to give her some privacy. "How could you let this happen to me?" You hear her sob. > You say "Suck it up Zal, Kor and I do so too. We got somebody to save." Zalisi nods and continues following you. You reach the end of the sewer tunnel and surface in a large underground tunnel. There is a passage leading off to another part of the sewer, as well as a passage leading deeper into the fort. "This way." Says Koriza and takes off down the tunnel. You follow her and reach another large underground tunnel. There are multiple passages here and you don't know which one to take. > You say "Zalisi, keep our bubble safe at any cost. The noxious sewer gas can kill!" Zalisi nods and focuses on the protective barrier around the three of you. You look around and see a large tunnel leading off to another part of the fort as well as a passage leading deeper into the fort.

"This way." Says Koriza and takes off down the tunnel. You follow and Koriza says this is the central point. > You say "This is one stinky crossroad. Hey, Koriza, you skulk around in sewers often so do you think this one has bleeder pipes to Siphon explosive gas away for safety?" "Yep, they're there. Bleeders are the reason why the fort still exists." "Let's check them then." You say and begin to float upwards. You find a pipe but it's too small for you to fit through. "We need something to widen this pipe." Says Zalisi. > You say "Let's block them instead, this place can then fill up with explosive gas." Zalisi looks at you and understands what you mean. She begins to focus on the pipe, trying to block it up with ice. You watch as the inside of the pipe gets smaller and smaller until it is completely blocked off. "Let's move on." Says Zalisi. > You say "Good. Koriza, how can we get in the fort above? I don't want to set the explosion off with us still down here. " "Well, hang on a minute. There should be a hatch that they use to deposit. It's probably not guarded and is easy access for us." "Good, let's head there." You say. The three of you head along until you reach the hatch. You look up and see that it is open with the silhouette of a guard standing nearby. "We need to get rid of this guard." You say. "Leave it to me." Koriza knocks the guard out and you 3 enter the fort. > You say "Koriza? You're the fire dragon here, light that sewer gas! " Koriza nods and flies up to the pipe, lighting it up. You shield your eyes as the bright flame lights up the area. There is a roar as the gas explodes, taking out a large chunk of the fort as well as killing many of the guards. "That worked well." Says Zalisi. > You say "My ears are going to ring for days... me dizzy. So now we need to find another dodecahedron prison? Eleos was in one Soooo.. " > You look for a dodecahedron shaped cage in the fort ruins. You look around the fort ruins. "There's a lot of debris that could be hiding anything. How are we going to find it?" Asks Zalisi. "I don't know, but we need to try." You say. You begin to walk around the fort ruins looking at every pile of rubble and trying to think how you would hide a dodecahedron if you were a white dragon. "Hey look over there!" you suddenly hear Koriza shout out. > You say "What is it? Does it look like the blue dragon tech Eleos was in? " "It's a dodecahedron, and yes it does." You look over to where Koriza is pointing and you see a dodecahedron shaped cage. It looks just like the one that held Eleos. It reads "Lysistrata" > You say "This one doesn't need to shield charge like Eleos' cage did. It probably has stronger magical defenses as it can use all the energy to strengthen it's hold." > You use dark Siphon on the magical dodecahedron cage. You use your dark magic to eat away at the magical aura that protects the cage. Eventually, it shatters and you can now open the door. You walk over to the cage and open the door. A beautiful white dragon walks out of it. "Finally I am free." She says. You all stare at her so she continues "I am Lysistrata, throne of abstinence" > You say "Abstinence? You mean as in not having fun at all?" "Only if it is bad for you in the long run. Temptation has ruined many. How have you broke this cage? Even for a purple dragon this is extraordinary" Lysistrata says. You answer truthfully "It's a dark power Apocalion gave me. Just like the thrones I traveled to the Singularity through dreamscape" all thrones got gifted with dark Siphon too, but they abstain to use it in fear of corruption. "We must be careful then, but I sense no evil in you. You may be our only chance of survival. Come, we must find the other thrones." > You say "We saved Eleos, soon the Korizan and EFPL invasion force will aid us as the force field is gone. Shall we escort you to your sister, Lysistrata?" "Yes, I would like that." You all fly towards the nondescript village you hid Eleos in. Eleos and Lysistrata hug after being forced apart for decades. The 2 powerful dragonesses can easily hold their own here. Lysistrata informs you that they, like you, are also capable of telepathy. The Thrones all reached Apocalion and the Singularity, just like you. > You check in on Disarria with telepathy, and ask if she found a throne yet.

Disarria responds surprised "seriously? You did so already didn't you? We are on a trail. Consider this a fluke win, Enty!" You then reach out to someone else. Abysmalia. "Hey Abby, the shadow schism is large. Found any magical cages of blue dragon design?" She has. To your disdain she also uses it as magical battery. You can hear her "Now I have enough shadow energy to last for decades!" > You say "Abby... I'm coming to collect. I need to open that cage." "So be it, darling." You sigh, she knows you are married. Abysmalia is by no means an ugly creature like she was on Purperdraak Eiland, but you are committed. You tell Zalisi and Koriza this news. Both frown as they hate the shadow schism and its ripe fleshiness more than any sewer. You can do this solo anyway. > You say "You two stay with Eleos and Lysistrata then, I'm sure two multi millennia old platinum dragons got interesting stories." They nod, you focus your relay teleport and soon find yourself in the grotesque shadow schism, near the flesh overgrown temple. You go look for Abysmalia. After a few minutes of walking you find her, she is flying around in the air, her body seeming to be made of a black gas. "I knew you'd come." She says "I see you found my prison, well done." She turns to face you. "Now, let's get to it!" Then she flies away from you, deeper into the temple. You follow her inside. They nod, you focus your relay teleport and soon find yourself in the grotesque shadow schism, near the flesh overgrown temple. You go look for Abysmalia. You find her after a few minutes of searching, she is flying around in the air, she notices you and lands to meet you. "Entropion. Nice to see you without... her" she hisses as she said that last part, referring to Koriza. You ignore her remark. > You say "So, where do you have that dodecahedron cage? " "I'll take you to it, follow me" she says. She then starts flying away. You follow her in the air. After about a minute, you see a dodecahedron made of a purple metal, floating in the air, around it a few dozen shadows dancing around and making some sort of ritual, probably to take the power. You land next to Abysmalia and look at the cage. > You say "Yeah you've been busy, they are a pale blue color normally. " "Yes, I have been busy, with your help of course." "Hm, yes. What happened to the other dragons?" You ask. Abysmalia says she only knows of the shadow schism and has only been studying here. > You say "Disengage the cage from whatever ritual you put it in, I will open it." "You sure you can handle it? It's not going to get away is it?" Abysmalia says, quite unsure. "No, I got this." You say, confidently. You are sure you can do this. "Okay then, be my guest." She says. With a nod from her, the shadows stop their ritual and back away from the cage. You make your way over to the cage. "This better work." She says worriedly. > You use dark Siphon on the dodecahedron cage. You focus your energy and dark magic on the cage, siphoning it's energy away. It begins to lose it's purple glow, turning black and then dark grey as it begins to disintegrate in front of you. The shadows around you begin to panic as the cage falls apart, they quickly try to revive the ritual but are unable to do so before the last remnants of the cage disappear. With a flash of white, a new platinum dragon appears. She introduces herself as Themis. She seems very agitated at the sight of the shadow schism around her. "What happened to our sanctuary of Ietros?!" > You say "It's a long story, allow me to elaborate all of this..." You begin to tell Themis everything that has happened with the shadows, the white dragons, your mission and everything else. She listens intently, only interjecting to ask questions. She is very surprised by what you have to say. She thanks you for rescuing her from her own cage and tells you how she was captured by the Theocracy when they launched a raid on Ietros. > You say "When the thrones are back in control of this continent, the shadow schism can be disposed of. That Onyx dragon is Abysmalia. She will join my adventuring party, oh, Abby? Those are orders. Ietros belongs to the 7 thrones and that is final." "As you wish, muscle-butt~" She replies. "Now, let us leave this accursed place." You say, motioning Themis to follow you.

You take flight and Themis quickly catches up to you. "You released primordial demons to discredit that libel the theocrats spread." Themis makes a statement. Just letting it lie there and curious how you will pick up on it. > You say "Yes. I did. The purple dragon tenet of "dark necessity " demands me to achieve my goal of restoring this war torn world by any method necessary. No matter how grim. I will not accept any scorn nor punishment if you want to imply I did wrong." "Oh, no, I don't think you did anything wrong. I'm just a little surprised. That's all." "I see. There is no need to be surprised, Themis. You are aware of the saying "no good deed goes unpunished", correct? Well, that saying holds true in any situation where you try to help others. This is no different." You fly for a moment in silence before Themis begins to speak again. "I suppose it's only natural that we all have our own methods of dealing with the world around us. Thank you for your service, Entropion. I will leave you be now." Themis goes silent and you fly in thought as well. Soon you land at hideout village Themis goes to meet her sisters while you nap on the beach. As you wake up, another platinum dragon lies next to you. You flinch, you do not know this platinum dragon yet. She has messier rainbow fur and presents herself as the youngest, despite being the same multi millennial age as her sisters. She winks at you playfully "Aidos, humility. Sorry if I scared you. I wanted to feel the sand between my toes after all that time" Disarria's team saved her from her prison. Redsamuru probably pried the dodecahedron cage open. You nod. "I see. What brings you here?" "Oh, I wanted to see the prince of Korizan. Your wife can't stop swooning over you and it's adorable!" She sits next to you, and begins playing in the sand. She draws a quick image of a dodecahedron and pokes it, > You say "What's it like anyway? Being put in a magical cage for decades?" "Hell. It's hell. I was in a cell, alone, for decades. I had no one to talk to. No one to play with. I was alone. Alone for years, decades even" Aidos begins sobbing as she draws a second dodecahedron next to the first one. You look over and see a dirtier, sadder looking Aidos. > You drag a line through her sand drawings to make the point she shouldn't dwell on it. "You can't do that to me. I used to draw these all the time, it's like a reflex or something now. But you're right, we need to look at the future and not the past. We are free and we have each other! Yay!" You look at her drawings. The first dodecahedron is clean, the second one is run down and surrounded by weeds. > You say "Your sand drawings are beautiful. Can you do me in a heroic pose with the old Ietros flag as a Cape? You know, the 7 thrones flag." "I can try! I'm no artist but I want to commemorate you and all you've done for us." You turn around and strike a heroic pose. She draws you with the old flag of Ietros as a cape, holding a sword victoriously. You look at it, it's nice, yet comedic. You can't expect a humility aspect to do it unironically. > You say "Time to air my woes. I am so tired... always adventuring. We can't ever stop as that would allow innocent people to be victimized. Soon I have to depart to save the last 3 thrones. They are still in cages... did you recover enough after your ordeal to give me some of that holy light?" "I... I'm sorry. I just can't give you that light. It's too much for me now. The cage, it took it's toll." "Dammit Well, what can we do to save the last 3?" She thinks for a moment. "We could try to contact my old high priestess, she might be able to help finding the others quickly. She is uh, dead. You know dreamscape well so....." you sigh deeply as you know what she is implying. > You say "Well, not the kind of sleep I was hoping for, but I do miss the dreamscape weirdness."> You say "Aight ima do that tonight, when I go sleep. Let's relax for a bit until then. " You play some board games with her, and just talk for a bit. She's so happy to be free, but she's worried about the rest of her kind. You are too, but you know you can't let it get to you. After a bit of fun, you head off to sleep.> You go to Xenia's room and ask her for a dream potion like Alec used to make. Xenia gives you one of the potions. She has been told about your mission and thus has it ready.

Koriza comes in and grabs another potion while giving you a cocky smirk "I am coming with you babe! I am not going to pass up a chance to punch Apocalion!" Xenia gives you a look as if to say "let her." You and Koriza drink the dreamscape potions and cuddle up while falling asleep. You know how to navigate and get straight to Catharsion's realm. You appear before him and he is reading a book. "Oh, what do I owe this wonderful pleasure?" "We need your help." He puts down his book and gives you his full attention. "The thrones isn't it? I have been watching. You need to go to layer 5, the subconscious of the world" > You say "How do we find the thrones there? Do I have to follow the strands connecting the consciousnesses like last time? " Catharsion nods, he tries to open a vortex deeper in dreamscape but the realm refuses. Koriza is puzzled and asks why Catharsion can't command the realm fully. He explains it got residual soul energy from Genesion to exist on it's own in such a deep dreamscape level. The realm wants you to train magic like last time and Koriza must grow too. Her ancestral sun mark gave her fire magic. Catharsion tells you to complete what his realm throws you. You and Koriza fly to the nearest floating island. You look at Koriza "dreamscape does not follow normal rules. In my coma I had to learn light magic to progress." Now it's ice for you and fire for Koriza. The realm wants you to train your ice magic and for Koriza to train fire magic. A high up door appears with multiple waterfalls. Ice spikes form many barricades to your goal. > You say "I doubt cheating will be tolerated. No flying. This one seems simple enough. You need to destroy the ice spike barricades and I need to freeze the water for a path." You both agree to the challenge. You freeze the water with a freeze ray and Koriza blows the barricades away with fireballs. You reach the door. The next training challenge is harder. It will be ice and fire related too. You come across a giant locked door made out of metal. It won't budge. "We need to find the key." You tell Koriza. She shrugs and says "There's a lot of islands, let's check them all." You nod in agreement and fly off to explore. Soon ghostly tethers pull you back down. It's obvious that is not the answer. Koriza grunts. "What else can we do?!" > You say "I can't get this door cold enough to make it brittle, only Disarria can get to absolute zero, but, focus that anger. Think about Apocalion laughing at you. Hold that rage until I tell you to fire!" Koriza does as you say as you empty your emotions and get the door as cold as you can with ice magic. Then you snap out of it and tell Koriza to unleash her fire magic on the door! The thermal stress causes the door to shatter, revealing the path to the next room. You compliment Koriza. "Good job! You gave it you all." She smiles and nods. You enter the next room. You enter the next room. It's a giant lava pit with multiple metal platforms to stand on. A large metal door is in the back wall. > You say "Well, can you control lava, Koriza? " "I don't think so. I can control fire, but not lava. The two are different, you know." > You say "Hardly. Both are heat sources. Could you like, try?" "I don't know..." "Well, you got this far. You could at least try." "Fine!" You walk onto the first platform, which begins to lower into the lava pit. "Koriza!" "I'll be fine, Catharsion's realm is safe. I can handle it."

The first platform is lowered into the lava, and soon you are standing on a tiny metal platform that is surrounded by lava. > You say "Try focusing on just one bit of lava, try shape it into a platform and I will cool it!" Koriza focuses on one bit of lava, tries to shape it into a solid mass. After a bit she manages to do it, and the lava is cooled into a solid metal platform. "I did it!" "Great job. Let's get off this platform." Koriza moves the cooled platform over to you. You disembark from the first platform, which quickly begins sinking into the lava pit. You stand on the newly cooled one, and Koriza joins you. > You say "You are so sexy when you are in tense situations, you know that?" Koriza doesn't think this is the appropriate moment for flirtation. She rolls her eyes and says, "Shut up, Enty." "You know you love it." You say. "We are in the middle of a mission. We can discuss this later." "Alright, fine. But you know I'm right." Koriza rolls her eyes, but smiles a bit. > You say "Think you can arch the lava into a bridge so I can cool it and we can cross? " "I'll try." Koriza says. Koriza begins arching the lava into a bridge, and you begin cooling it. The two of you are moving slowly across the bridge when it suddenly stops sagging and becomes a solid pillar of rock. You and Koriza are now stranded in the middle of the pit. "Great job, Koriza!" You say sarcastically. "Shut up, Enty." "You know you love it." Koriza slams her elbow in your face. You got the memo. The lava is starting to melt your construction. "Aside from a bloodied nose, can we focus on the mission?! Pillars should be more stable and we can jump on them!" You urgently state. Your assertion is correct, and soon you jumped to the ridge with the door. "Good job. We make a fantastic team in magic and marriage. Next is the test of ruling a country." You playfully suggest, to lighten the mood. "Hah, yeah. Let's do this." Koriza responds. The two of you enter the door to the next training objective. It is a giant ice field with jets of fire occasionally exploding upwards as fiery geysers. The flames are blue hot and sting your skin before you even got close! That is not the only problem, ice constructs so cold they freeze the air stroll about. They are at absolute zero temperature or maybe even lower... magic doesn't need to follow silly rules. How the hell are you going to do this?!
