#2 of Azerite Creeds

Of all the creeds, The Magui, those born under the Fortunate Orphan are the most numerous and possibly the most terrifying of all Azerites to go up against - small in stature, swift of foot and absurdly energetic, many other Azerites are scared to go near them lest they get roped up into whatever unknowable thing they may be doing.

Highly sociable, particularly intelligent, but more than slightly mischievous, The Magui are best known for the fact that they cannot be stopped when a number of them set their mind to something. Where one Magui is found, another three will be out of sight, ready to empty your pockets, steal your prized sword and trip you over, then countless more will appear from the sands should you have any chance of stopping those four from getting away with the act.

Indeed, of all the creeds, none receive the same kind of love/hate relationship as the Magui, as while they can be incredibly useful, resourceful and cunning, they use these abilities to run circles around the other creeds - taking what they like, eating what they like, and generally doing whatever on Azeron they like, regardless of what anyone else might have to say.

This falls exactly in line with the Fortunate Orphan's Doctrine of Freedom - any Azerite has the right to do anything, and any other Azerite has the right to do anything in reaction to this. Whilst this might suggest that any Azerite can say, kill and steal from another - the fact is that doing so is liable to get them stolen from and killed in return, so an understanding of consequences is tied into this.

So the Magui settle for stealing and being stolen from for the most part - and they will not whine when they are caught and punched in the face by their victims for doing so, because they were free to steal, and the other was free to punch them in response. They may however, steal something else as vengeance, and thus the cycle continues until they get hit hard enough to reconsider.

Asides from their hated tendency to steal however, there is no denying that, for every limitation or seemingly impossible thing there is, there will be no shortage of Magui working to prove that they can and will do anything - there are no better chefs than the Magui due to their desire for Azeron's greatest food, there are no better engineers due to their determination to create the fastest, most powerful machines, and there are no better teachers due to their yearning to witness their students surpass them.

It is simply a pity that they are so childish and that their highest concern tends to be linked to their fellow Magui, otherwise they would be the main drivers of Azerite culture and its advancement, although the other creeds are more than happy to take their ideas and turn them into something that works for everyone else, and not simply the Magui - a prevalent example being the Opalescent Engineers, who love their ingenuity, but despise their disregard for personal safety in pursuit of fun, making their dangerous but genius inventions into something that other Azerites might not be terrified to use.

As warriors, Magui are not the strongest due to their small stature - they can be as small as half the height of an average Azerite (born under the Jade Feline) and are prone to being taken out with one solid blow from a Phoenix Kin. However, they are absurdly quick on their feet, infuriatingly nimble and particularly flexible, meaning that trying to actually land that solid blow will leave you exhausted, frustrated and exposed to their hellish speed, now lacking the energy to react against it.

They are capable of channelling like any other Azerite, and are better suited to using it to accelerate themselves further, but due to their small stature, they are more vulnerable to channeling attacks as well as physical ones.

What makes them truly terrifying to face though is the blessing given to them by The Orphan's golden yellow energies - through the embodiment of the Eternal Locket, they can not only almost totally freeze time from their own perspective, but unlike the usual Azerite adrenaline slowing their perception, the slowing does not effect their bodies and minds the same way - meaning that they move at an ordinary rate as far as they are concerned whilst in this state.

What this means is that from the perspective of anyone else, the Magui in question will become a glowing yellow blur that is virtually impossible to see or to stop - their speed going from absurd to outright goddamn impossible to their observers, meaning that even walking casually in this state will appear as if they were moving considerably faster than a full sprint.

This allows them to reposition, evade, escape or even to perform gravity defying acts of vertical traversal whilst in this state - but they must maintain a sealed environment of their energies to remain in this state, which requires both impressive channelling capability and fortitude of mind. Even touching the sand will disturb this seal - and striking another Azerite in this state requires incredible skill to do without immediately losing the embodiment of the Eternal Locket...but those who do master the ability can strike a foe a hundred times before they can blink, let alone process what happened.

In summary, the Magui are born to be free, and will take this and run with it for the entirety of their lives - doing whatever the heck they like, when they like, even when this entails the otherwise impossible or preposterous. And where there is one: there are always (at least) three more. Always. No matter what they try and tell you.

The emotions that are most prevalent within those under the Orphan's aura are glee, curiosity, cockiness, feelings of luckiness and determination.

Details on Mixed Creeds:

Phoenix-Magui have already been described under the Phoenix Creed, so I shall repeat that here.

Of mixed creeds, Phoenix-Magui is the most common, due to the fact that the watches of the two gods overlap for three entire nights. This bestows the same improved strength of the Phoenix, the infuriating agility of the Magui, provides a tight, lean structure and gives them an ordinary ability to channel, rather than being impeded.

They are known for being relatively calm and down to earth compared to both the arrogant Phoenix Kin and the energetic Magui, comparable to Jade Felines in this respect - but you put them in battle, with something that takes their interest or simply keep them from expressing themselves for a while and a rowdy eccentric side will shine through, leading to them satisfying the personality traits expected from either creed.

There are no other creeds that they mix with without the Kit being Sunborn - for an Onyx Hunt follows directly after the Orphan's Watch.
