#1 of Azerite Creeds

The Phoenix Lord is perhaps the most well known and most prevalent of the Six High Gods simply for how much influence his followers possess over others - for those born under his watch are of the devout belief that might makes right, and they will go to any extent to prove this might.

Two Phoenix Kin will fight one another simply out of curiosity as to which of them is stronger - no actual reason necessary - and this leads to them being seen as belligerent even by their fellow Azerites, eager to fight on any excuse or merely at the drop of a hat in a tense room.

Typically, they are both taller and broader in stature than most Azerites, more physically capable and surprisingly swift despite their larger structure, but they struggle to channel their energies externally, meaning that whilst they are good at bolstering their natural strength, they struggle to create energy weapons and projectiles like most Azerites can naturally.

This is not to say they cannot become capable Sparks, but does mean that they will have to put in considerably more work than other creeds to become equally capable.

This does work in their favour however, as it is harder for other Azerites to harm them with channeling strikes and manipulate their energies against them, meaning they have less to fear from the overwhelming power of an Azure One or the dark, wounding power of The Onyx Hunter.

The fiery scarlet energies of the Phoenix Lord grant their wielder the ability to absorb the energies of those striking them and channel it straight back in a Furious Retaliation, amplifying their strength into a blow that can stagger even the most sturdy of warriors or even send them flying should the user be so capable.

Naturally, they are considerably more confident, arrogant and reckless than their fellow Azerites, leading to many of them aspiring for high positions within Azerite culture and becoming particularly egotistical when they do - proposing that anyone with the power can knock them off of their high horse if they so desire. They also have an incredibly short fuse, even by Azerite standards, capable of flipping into an absurd rage over a spilled drink - meaning that another Phoenix Kin merely claiming to be stronger is more than enough to start a brawl over.

Funnily enough, Phoenix Kin are one of the most commonly seen in the care of Ruby Saints due to injuries caused by other Phoenix Kin.

Due to the length of the Phoenix's watch, they are the third most common of the pure Azerite creeds - surpassed by those under the Jade Feline and the Magui, born under the Fortunate Orphan.

The Phoenix Lord himself presents the Doctrine of Power: that those who are willing and able to fight have the right not only to rule over those lesser than them, but have also the right to take that rule from any other should they have the power.

The other Creeds work constantly to remind them that this is not the only Doctrine, and that by the Doctrine of Responsibility, created by the Ruby Saint, that those with power should care for those without it, they cannot take from those with lesser power, and can only take from those greater than themselves.

This ensures that, even while a Phoenix may rule and command others, the day they begin to abuse their power to take what belongs to their lessers, they will be threatened with disgrace by the Ruby Saint - and those who would dare to cross such a benevolent High God are viewed with deepest disgust.

In summary, where one would expect to find a leader, one can expect a Phoenix Kin to have fought their way to the position and to uphold it with the utmost pride, and where one expects to find warriors, there will be no shortage of Phoenix Kin looking to prove themselves.

The emotions most prevalent within those under the Phoenix's aura are pride, fury, defiance and righteousness.

Details on Mixed Creeds

Of mixed creeds, Phoenix-Magui is the most common, due to the fact that the watches of the two gods overlap for three entire nights. This bestows the same improved strength of the Phoenix, the infuriating agility of the Magui, provides a tight, lean structure and gives them an ordinary ability to channel, rather than being impeded.

They are known for being relatively calm and down to earth compared to both the arrogant Phoenix Kin and the energetic Magui, comparable to Jade Felines in this respect - but you put them in battle, with something that takes their interest or simply keep them from expressing themselves for a while and a rowdy eccentric side will shine through, leading to them satisfying the personality traits expected from either creed.

Azure-Phoenix is incredibly rare but still possible - the watch of the Mad One and The Phoenix overlap for fifteen minutes once every year, and those born of such a creed become particularly power mad due to how the mentality of the two creeds stick together. Not only are they obsessed with the acquiring of knowledge, understanding and channeling mastery, but also aspire to be the strongest, most capable warriors of all - the fact that being Azure Ones tends to make them unhinged only worsens their likelihood to become power mad.

Even other Phoenix Kin fear these wild minded Azerites, for they are impossible to reason with once they set their mind upon a goal, and have the potential to become not only incredibly powerful channelers, but also impressive in physical strength as well - meaning that they cannot be overwhelmed by a Phoenix Kin and their ability to resist the channeling powers that would make up the bulk of an Azure One's capabilities.
