A night with Shadow Part 2
Well nearly 1 year after I wrote part one I really thought that I should continue this story. If anyone's been waiting for this I do really apologise but here it is now. This part isn't really very exciting I have to admit but it's part of the story (well it is now anyway) so there. I do intend on trying to get the whole story done by christmas but thats what I wanted to do last year and then college quite seriously got in my way. And this year isn't going to be any less busy.
Drinks over and joints smoked Shadow almost jumped up and grabbed my arm "come on you. Sitting there isn't going to get us back to my place any quicker"
"Well well someone's eager to get a shuffle on" I said giggling slightly. "Though a minute to let my ahem downstairs to return to its relaxed state would maybe be wise"
"You know that's not necessary here" Shadow said jovially.
That sent me off into giggles again but I knew he was telling the truth so wasted no time more in getting up and letting me lead him out. As we walked towards the door to leave Spike saw us and headed over.
"Oh Mikey I hope you know what you're letting yourself in for. This one's full of surprises" He said nodding towards Shadow
"And what is that supposed to mean"
"Oh Spike is probably just remembering how I had him dress up in his big sisters clothes for me. He made a really cute little girl when he was all finished preparing"
"You cheeky git" laughed Spike before turning to me and pseudo whispering "That never happened. Well maybe I put her underwear on but that's where it ended"
I looked up at him and then to Shadow and saw both had huge grins on their faces. "Well Spike we is off" I grabbed him and gave him a quick hug, just long enough to give his lovely bottom a squeeze before Shadow grabbed me and literally hauled me out the door before there was any further distractions.
As we left Bar Canis the door staff waved goodbye and I just followed Shadow back towards the high street. "So where is your place then? Is it walkable or have we got to phone for a taxi"
"Oh it's not that far. About 20 minutes walk. Though I could really do with some food on the way so we're going to have to take a bit of a detour"
We crossed the high street and went down another smaller side street into what is the older part of the town. No nice grid system of roads here but more of a maze of streets ready to catch out the directionally unaware. Shadow obviously knew where he was going so I just trailed after him, daydreaming slightly about what the rest of the night may bring. After a few minutes of thinking and walking I looked up and realised I didn't really recognise where we were that well. Although I'd lived in the town for getting on for a year I've never been the type to do much exploring so the streets we were on now were new to me. "I thought you wanted to stop for food?" I asked.
"I do, but we're not going to where you would be expecting us too. It can get a bit heated round there on a Friday night. Drunken arseholes and furs just aren't a good combination and I think it might spoil tonight a bit if I ended it in a prison cell"
"Ok then so where are we heading"
"Only the best kebab joint in town my good friend"
The thought of a nice kebab made my mouth start watering. Although I'd eaten earlier it hadn't been much and nothing says Friday night better than a large lamb donor kebab with lashings of chilli sauce. "Sounds good to me dude. I can never say no to a kebab"
"You will love this then. These really are the best kebabs in town. No soggy pita bread and dry meat here. When you cater to a clientele who have much better sense of taste and smell than humans you need to provide the goods or you don't keep your customers". It sounded like a glowing recommendation and almost seconds later I was as much following my nose as I was following Shadow. My body decidedly hooked by the promise of the best kebab ever.
After turning another corner I finally saw the object of our quest which I'd been smelling so much of for the last short time. Just as we neared the door Shadow looked at me with a guilty expression on his face.
"What are you looking so guilty about?" I asked
"Oh nothing "said Shadow quietly, but he definitely seemed to be hiding something. What he was hiding was going to become apparent shrotly after we walked through the door.
"Hey hey if it isn't my favourite black and tan kebab destroying machine" said a voice from behind the shop counter. I was very surprised to see this voice didn't belong to a fur as I had expected but a middle aged human male with a crazily styled black moustache that was in a sharp contrast to the grey of his hair. He saw me and piped up again. "Oh I see you've found someone to take home with you tonight, Bruce is going to love him". This comment took me completely by surprise and when I looked up trying to read any expression on Shadows face all I could see was the guilty expression he had just before we entered the shop.
"Look Mikey, I better tell you that I don't live on my own but I share a place with someone called Bruce. He's an equine and a really great guy, but the thing is he's likely to want to join in when he gets back from work later. He might seem a bit mad when you first meet him but he's sound as a pound really"
"Is that what has had you looking so guilty?"
"Well yeah it is. I always think it's a bit rude of me to assume as you're up for coming home with me you'd be up for my flatmate joining in too"
"You have nothing to worry about" I said smiling.
"That is good then. But please say if you're not up for him joining in and I'll make sure he keeps out of our way"
"No it really is fine. I don't mind at all". Secretly I was quite overjoyed at the possibility that I might be ending up in bed with 2 rather than just one guy. Especially as I had hoped to meet a nice male equine on my previous visits to Bar Canis but had never had any luck.
Suddenly I was introduced to Bruce as he jumped through the door in a semi pounce towards Shadow. "Hey hey Shadow my man. You're in here early tonight" He looked around and spotted me loitering and trying to be inconspicuous while standing in full view. "Oh now I see why your here so early. Am guessing this is the guy you brought with you". He came up to me and made a show of bowing to me and taking my hand like I was a fairy tale princess, before kneeling and kissing the back of my hand. "Charmed to meet you sir" he said before turning to Shadow "Oh yes shadow he really is rather tasty".
Hearing this from someone I had never spoken to before and combined with the outlandish gesture made me turn redder than I think I ever had before.
"Hi there I'm Mikey" I managed to mumble at him.
"Bruce stop being such a clown. You've turned the poor boy into a nervous and embarrassed wreck" Shadow said smiling back at me as he said it. "Anyway I didn't come here so you could try and scare him, just to place my order".
"Ah you know I'm just being silly. How could moi ever be seen as scary? I'm too much a bundle of laughs for that". Bruce looked over at me and apologised for his performance.
"Seriously its fine" I said. "I was just a bit taken aback when you burst in here and gave me the nobleman act"
"Ah well first impressions and all that" he quipped and with a wink disappeared back out the door he'd come in from.
"So then what can I get you fellers tonight?"
I'd almost forgotten we were here to order food and Bruce's performance had made me totally forget there was someone standing behind the counter watching us.
"Well Pierre" said Shadow stroking his lower jaw like he was in deep contemplation "I think I'll go for the usual. Large lamb donor with no salad, no onion and a generous dollop of burger sauce. What about you Mikey?"
"Err large lamb donor with salad, onion, a bit of burger sauce and plenty of chilli sauce" I said after a few seconds thought. The guy behind the counter wrote it down on his pad before tearing off the top sheet and passing it through the serving window into the kitchen behind him.
"So you boys want to eat it as you go or do you want me to get Bruce to bring it with him when he heads home after work. He should be finished in about an hour as we have plenty of drivers on tonight. Unless we get a rush that is"
"We'll take them to go thanks" answered Shadow and pulled up a chair at an empty table to wait for our order to be ready.
Two minutes later we were walking down the street happily munching on our kebabs. And I had to agree with Shadow on something. These really were the best kebabs in town.
"So is Bruce one of the surprises Spike mentioned to me earlier"
"Yeah Bruce is always a surprise if you haven't met him before" laughed Shadow." I think Spike was just a bit jealous though. He likes you a lot you know, it's just hard to tell as he's just not very forward about serious feelings"
"Ah ok" I nodded out between mouthfuls of donor meat. "So how far is it to yours from here?"
"It should be about 15 or 20 minutes at eating speed. And don't worry there's plenty of drink at my place so we can finish the journey with a cold bevy"
I smiled to myself. Tonight seemed to be turning into something really special and I was really looking forward to getting back to Shadows place.
"So do any of those bevy's you mentioned happen to be good cider?"
"Of course they are. What do you take me for?"
Oh yes I was really looking forward to getting back to Shadows place.
