To his left and his right, all Lucario saw were trees. He stepped over branches, roots, and various shrubbery as his eyes scanned his surroundings. I could've sworn he was around here somewhere... he thought to himself while continuously looking left and right. Finally, his eyes locked onto a spot of red hair in the distance. There! He began pushing his way forward, all smiles as he approached his boyfriend, Cinderace. It wasn't until he got closer that his expression began to wane, as Inteleon stood opposite of the hare. He came to a stop and stood between two trees, looking on.

The both of them were in a clearing, staring each other in the eye as neither moved a muscle.

Suddenly, Cinderace hopped into the air and kicked a fireball towards Inteleon.

Just as quickly, Inteleon pointed towards the ball and shot a jet of water, piercing the projectile and causing it to dissipate.

Quick as he could, Cinderace ran to his right, jumping and twirling as he began kicking three more fireballs at him.

Inteleon dipped low and shot more quick, precise jets. Two of them hit their mark, but a third was off target, causing the fireball to continue hurtling towards him. With a quick jerk of his head, he managed to avoid the fireball from singeing his face.

Cinderace got low and jumped up to pull off a bicycle kick as he fired off a bigger fireball from above.

Inteleon's pointer finger began to glow and he used his left arm to steady his aim. He fired off a powerful blast, causing a large mist cloud to appear above him.

That was when Cinderace appeared from above, hurtling towards his opponent as his leg was straight outward and his foot engulfed in flames.

As his eyes widened, Inteleon quickly dashed to the side as the hare crashed into the earth below. He began running back, firing off more shots.

Cinderace quickly got low and sprinted towards Inteleon, dodging all the shots going his way. With a moment's rest as Inteleon lined up another shot, he kicked up a wave of fiery dirt.

Quick as a flash, Inteleon turned away and clamped his eyes shut, regaining his vision in time to see another jump kick coming towards him. He put up his arms to block the impact, which pushed him a ways back in the dirt.

As Cinderace dashed forward, Inteleon fired off another large blast. He responded by kicking another fireball towards him.

Both attacks collided in the air, creating another smokescreen.

The pokemon ran into the cloud, their speed causing the smoke around them to move inward before dispersing rapidly. As it cleared away, both of them were locked in a standstill; Cinderace's flaming roundhouse kick stopped mere inches from Inteleon's head. At the same time, the lizard had an unfired shot aimed directly between Cinderace's eyes. They continued to stare until the hare cracked a smile.

"Not bad at all," he remarked while lowering his leg and causing the fire to disappear. "Had a good recovery after that stumble, too."

With a smile of his own, Inteleon relaxed his arm and the shot faded away. "You certainly know how to keep me on my toes." Standing upright, he added, "I have to think several steps ahead just to handle my own against you."

"Well, keep that up and I'm sure you'll get in a win, some day!"

"I believe I'd have got off my shot first."

"Well, you can believe whatever you wanna believe!" Cinderace added with a laugh. "I've got some fast legs for a reason." His arms crossed behind his back, as he added, "You've gotten a lot better, though! It's really impressive how much you've gotten better with all this."

"I have had an excellent teacher for some time now," Inteleon replied, patting Cinderace on the head.

The contact made Cinderace giggle and his ears drooped as he moved his head around so the lizard could pat more of him.

A moment after Inteleon smiled down at him, his eyes snapped to the trees behind Cinderace to see Lucario standing there.

Lucario could feel his teeth begin to lightly press against each other and his lips tremble due to the sight before him. As he witnessed Inteleon make eye contact with him, adding a smile and a wave, a scowl barely began to make its appearance as he quickly turned around and marched off into the trees.

Inteleon stopped his patting, his smile gone, causing Cinderace to look up and then towards where Inteleon was looking.

"What's up?"

"It... it's nothing," he replied, his hands now being at his side.

Now Cinderace's hands were at his hips. "Gettin' distracted now? That's a quick way to lose a fight."

Now adding a smile and a sigh, Inteleon looked at him and replied, "If you say so."

What was that? Lucario thought to himself as he marched on. He was so happy with him! He gritted his teeth. Didn't even care if I was around or not! What does he have that I don't? Not long after asking himself that, his mind chose to answer his question as memories began to surface. He recalled times when Cinderace would ask him to snuggle up with him, and he wouldn't be able to sit still with him for very long. When Cinderace would nuzzle him and Lucario would awkwardly return a half-gesture. When Cinderace would crawl towards him at night and he would say how he prefers to sleep alone. Now, despite the many times the hare told him it was okay, he could feel a hole opening up within him.

"Have I... really been that bad towards him?" Lucario muttered as he stopped in place. Soon he started thinking of both Inteleon and Cinderace being together. Visions of them cuddling up together, holding each other, and kissing each other brought his energy back up as he grimaced. "No!" he told himself as he stomped his foot and created a small crack in the earth below. "I won't give him up without a fight!" He turned back around and marched back towards the clearing from before.

With only one thought on his mind, he pressed on, soon approaching the clearing. Cinderace and Inteleon were still talking to each other enthusiastically. His eyes narrowed as he cleared the tree-line.

As soon as Cinderace spotted him, his face lit up and he walked towards the jackal. "Hey there! You here for some-"

Lucario put up his paw, stopping Cinderace in place, as he looked towards Inteleon. "He and I need to talk. Leave us."

Inteleon stared at him for a moment before nodding. "I'll just go back to the camp."

"We'll see you in a bit, then!" Cinderace chirped.

"Y-yes, soon enough," Inteleon replied. As he began walking away, he and Lucario locked eyes.

Lucario watched him walk and continued watching until he was clearly out of sight. He then closed his eyes and checked for his aura, as he could sense Inteleon getting further and further away.

"So... what's this all about?" Cinderace asked, his arms crossed. "You seem a little tense."

As soon as Lucario stopped actively sensing aura, he turned around and stared his lover in the eyes.

"Are you okay?"

Without a word, he walked towards Cinderace, grabbed him by the head, and pulled him in for a kiss.

Initially, the hare tensed up, but melted into the gesture. He moaned until Lucario pulled his lips away, leaving him time to say, "Someone's sure in the mood," giggling while wrapping his arms around him.

Suddenly, Lucario tightly held Cinderace's arms together pushing even harder so he could force his tongue into his mouth.

"Wh-whoa, you're really-"

Now he pushed forward as both of them fell onto the floor, pressing both of their bodies together while pinning him down and tasting every inch of his maw.

Cinderace began squirming and let out a snort while his eyes started to open. He pulled away for a moment, saying, "G-gimme a sec, I-" before being shut down as Lucario crawled over him and locked their lips together again.

I need to show him I care. He pulled away and began suckling on the nape of his neck while gently dragging his claws into the hare's chest.

"L-Lucario you-" his words transformed into a gasp as Lucario dragged his tongue along the skin, and his hand trailed teasingly down Cinderace' stomach.

I need him to know how much I love him. With a growl, he wrapped his body tightly and bit down onto his neck.

" STOP! " With a quick jolt, Cinderace sat upright, pushing the jackal away. He was shaking and his face was beet red as he quickly patted down his neck and saw a splotch of red on his paw. "Wh-What's gotten into you? Are you trying to kill me, or something?"

Lucario could feel the pit within him grow larger. "But... this is what you like... You've wanted me to do this..."

"I-I like things a little rough, sure, but not this !" Cinderace held his paw out for the jackal to see. "This isn't like you! What's going on, Lucario?"

He stared back at Cinderace for a moment before looking away and staring at the grass.

"Hey. We need to talk about this. What's going on?"

"Do you love him?" Lucario muttered.

Cinderace's stare changed as his eyes narrowed and he leaned forward. "What did you say?"

"Inteleon. Do you love him?"

Several seconds passed before Cinderace leaned back, his mouth slightly open. "Oh my god... are you serious?"

Now Lucario locked his eyes onto the hare's. "Answer the question."

Cinderace's expression dropped as he scoffed and asked, "Are you seriously jealous ?" As the two continued to stare, the hare got to his feet. "I'm not playing this stupid game! Are you kidding me, Lucario?"

"I've seen the way you two look at each other," he began while standing up. "And... and when he rubbed your head, you were excited for that. More excited than I've seen you get for me!"

"So I like headpats, big deal! That doesn't mean I want to sleep with him!" Cinderace dragged his paws down his face. "Why are you acting like this, seriously?"

"You still haven't answered the question!"

"Because it's a stupid question, and I'm not playing your stupid game, Lucario!" That was when Cinderace started pacing around. "You seriously think I'd go behind your back like that? Have some faith in me, will you? I can't believe you'd be so pathetic !" he added, as Lucario slightly recoiled. "Y'know what? Why don't we just go back to the camp and ask everyone if I've banged any of them? Since you're so insecure that you actually think I'd be cheating on you!" He turned away and continued his yelling. "Apparently my boyfriend doesn't even know me well enough to know I'd never do that to him! Just the kind of guy who can't see me have friends apparently! I thought you were better than this, Lucario, but if you're gonna start doing this, then you need-" His rant went full-stop as he turned around and looked upon Lucario, whose body was shaking, fists and teeth were clenched, and had tears squeezing out of his clamped-shut eyes and rolling down his cheeks. His eyes went wide and his ears drooped. "L-Lucario, I... I didn't mean..." he began slowly approaching the jackal, a hand out to comfort him, but it was swatted away. He could feel Lucario's eyes bore into his very soul before he quickly turned around and began walking away. Although paralyzed for a moment, he followed after him while pleading, "Lucario, wait! I... I didn't-" his throat began tightening up. "I'm sorry!" Lucario stopped, causing Cinderace to stop as well. "I... those things I said. I was just mad, that's all!" A moment passed between them until Lucario slowly turned around. The pain in his eyes became too much for the hare, as he fell to his knees. "But... that's not a real excuse, is it? I still said what I said anyways." Cinderace began crying as well, as he looked towards the floor. "I don't think of Inteleon like that. It's just... respect for him. Ever since he was a tiny little guy he just wanted to become a skilled fighter. He worked really hard to get where he is, and I think that's worth celebrating." He paused to wipe his eyes. "And him patting me on the head... that was something I used to do to him, so he just wanted to return the gesture. I didn't mean for it to make you upset, but... I'm sorry..." The tears began flowing freely, as he struggled to keep his sobs in check.

"I... I was jealous," Lucario admitted, causing Cinderace to look up at him. He grabbed his left forearm and looked towards the floor. "I thought you became interested in someone that could do what I couldn't. I know I haven't been the best for you lately..."

"Lucario..."

"I know how badly you want to be held. How much you crave being touched, hugged, everything like that. And I haven't been giving that to you..." He clenched his teeth and tightened his grip on his arm. "But it's not like I don't want to do that. It's just..." Lucario looked at his paws. "Every time I get close, my body becomes restless. It screams out that I need to stop being so close, that I need to be on my own. And it's not fair to you..." Turning his gaze back to Cinderace, he continued. "When I saw how happy you looked when Inteleon touched you... I couldn't help but feel I was robbing you of feeling anything worthwhile. I didn't want to believe that I was truly to blame for this, but..."

"Hey, no. Stop," Cinderace insisted, getting to his feet. "Sure, I like being held and snuggled, but it's not like that's all I need from you!" He cautiously got closer to him. "There's so much more you make me feel... When I'm around you, I just feel so safe. Like, any stress or anger or sadness I feel, I know I can just be around you and talk about it and it slowly becomes better." He gently placed his hands on Lucario's shoulders as the two stared into each other's eyes. "The way any other guy could make me feel with touch is nothing compared to how you make me feel by just being here." While carefully placing a paw on Lucario's cheek, he fought the stinging in his eyes as he uttered, "I love you..."

This time, Lucario felt his throat tighten. He could feel his face tremble until his tears flowed once more before embracing Cinderace. "I love you too..." he managed before allowing himself to cry into the hare's chest. "I don't want to lose you."

Cinderace held him tightly and kissed the top of his head. "I never wanted to hurt you, I swear. I'm sorry."

After remaining close for some time, Lucario pulled back so that he and Cinderace looked into each other's eyes. Then, he gently stood on the tips of his toes, pushing himself upwards so their lips could meet.

Cinderace gently held onto Lucario's head and lingered there, feeling a rush flow freely from inside him. After pulling away, they looked into each other's eyes again. First Cinderace started to smile, which caused Lucario to do the same. They then moved in closer to kiss each other again. He then leaned into the kiss, pushing down onto Lucario.

At the same time, the jackal took a step back to adjust their balance, but there was a small dip in the ground below them. Before they could have time to react, Lucario lost his footing and fell onto his back, followed soon after by Cinderace landing atop him.

"S-sorry... you okay?" Cinderace groaned while rubbing his head. He reached towards Lucario, but stopped as he heard chuckling.

The jackal started to laugh as he lay there, the last of his tears making their way out of his eyes.

Not long after, Cinderace found himself laughing as well, lying down next to him as they both continued laughing.

"Quite a mood swing, wouldn't you say?" Lucario managed to ask through his laughs.

"Yeah, talk about cutting the tension." As their laughter died down, Cinderace positioned himself so he could lie onto his side and held Lucario's paw in his own.

Lucario looked over to him, then rolled onto his side and moved himself closer so both pokemon were a breath away.

Cinderace took a deep breath. "Lucario... all those things I said. I was angry." Lucario stared into his eyes while he continued. "I don't think you're pathetic or insecure or-"

"Hey," Lucario held both of Cinderace's paws in his. "It's okay. I understand." He turned his gaze away. "Our emotions were running high... and... I really should be the one apologizing here." The smile seemed to fade from his face and his ears drooped. "I truly was letting my doubts get the better of me, and... I hurt you."

"It's okay, Lucario," Cinderace insisted while moving in closer. "I don't know how I would've felt in your situation. And this'll heal up in no time." He moved up a paw to gingerly rub Lucario's face. "I want us to move past this. I want us to be good for each other, okay?" he asked while planting a kiss on Lucario's forehead.

The jackal looked back towards Cinderace, gradually allowing himself to smile again. "Okay... I love you..."

"I love you too."

They resumed kissing each other, wrapped up in each other's arms. Small gaps escaped their lips as they continued to kiss and caress until Lucario was on his back and Cinderace was positioned atop him.

Cinderace pulled away, pausing to catch his breath while Lucario did the same. A grin and furrowed brow crept across his face as he said, "Besides, I can pay you back for this later."

While the gears started turning in Lucario's head, he matched the smirk across from him. "Oh, will you now?"

"Absolutely," Cinderace muttered while moving in closer to give him another kiss.

Upon pulling away, Lucario asked in a low hum, "Why not right now?"

The smile on the hare's face faded as he sat upright. "Huh?" he asked as his face started to redden.

"You said you'd pay me back, right? Why not take care of that now?" He asked while gently placing his paws on Cinderace's thighs. As the hare's face became even redder and he looked around the area, Lucario cooed, "There's no one around. I checked. We can do whatever we want, and be as loud as we want." Then he sat upright, placing a hand behind Cinderace's neck to gently pull him in closer so they could feel the increasingly heavy breaths coming from each other. "It's just us. You're safe here. I promise."

While fighting the trembling all over his body and feeling his face burn, Cinderace took another look around the area. He then closed his eyes and sighed before stammering, "I-I'm sorry... can... can we just-"

"Okay," Lucario immediately replied, planting a kiss on his cheek and making Cinderace jump a bit. "Only whatever you're comfortable with."

"I was not expecting that," Cinderace chuckled nervously while putting his paws to his face.

"We seemed to be in the moment, so I figured why not ask?"

Cinderace let himself smile again as he stared at Lucario. "Although... there is one thing I'd like."

"Name it."

With a bit of a smile and a giggle, Cinderace parted his ears and asked, "Can you pet me?"

Lucario blinked a few times before smiling and nodding as he leaned forward and rubbed the top of the hare's head. The contact made Cinderace's ears fold back and he hummed while closing his eyes. "You really do enjoy this."

"Yeah... but it feels even better when it's from someone you love..."

Those words nearly made Lucario stop as he felt a spark ignite from inside him, but he kept on his smile and continued to rub his head. "You know... your fur is so soft."

"Is it? I never noticed?" he replied with a wry grin. Cinderace relished in the contact before muttering, "You know... you can touch more of me, if you'd like."

That was when it was Lucario's turn to stop and become flushed.

"It doesn't have to go too far, just... you might like it. And I figure, y'know, since you were getting pretty handsy earlier-"

"I was forcing myself..." Lucario admitted, slightly turning away.

"Oh..." Cinderace looked to Lucario's free paw and took it in his. "Want me to help you?"

Lucario was nearly taken aback as he looked at his enclosed paw. Then after swallowing the lump in his throat, he said, "Okay..."

With a smile, Cinderace gently took Lucario's paw and placed it on his chest. He rubbed it around for a moment, looking up to see the jackal's mystified gaze hone in on it. "Well?"

"It's... really nice."

"Yeah?"

Lucario nodded, moving closer and now rubbing around on his own. He looked up into Cinderace's eyes before giving him another kiss. This time they wrapped their arms around each other and rolled back onto their side. Their tongues danced together as they shared their increasing warmth from within. Finally, they stopped and pulled away, simply staring into each other's eyes.

Cinderace put a paw on Lucario's cheek. "Thanks for talking to me," he cooed. "I know it wasn't easy, and things got a bit heated, but I'd rather we have these kind of talks instead of letting it stew and get even worse later."

Lucario's ears folded back. "I don't want it to ever get that bad, or worse, ever again."

Pulling him in for a hug, Cinderace muttered, "Long as we keep talking to each other, it never will." This time they both laid there silently, enjoying each other's company and allowing the occasional breeze to pass over them.

Eventually, Lucario pulled away and got to his feet. "We should get back to camp soon. We don't want the others getting worried now."

"Yeah, it's probably a good time," Cinderace replied, sitting upright. Lucario extended his paw, which he took in his and used to get onto his feet. "I love you," he found himself saying once again.

"I love you too," Lucario replied as they both walked back into the forest and towards their camp.

As both of them entered the camp grounds, they saw that most of the other pokemon were still busy doing their own thing while Goh and Ash were busy discussing different topics.

"Excuse me."

Cinderace and Lucario looked over to see Inteleon approaching.

"I was wondering if I could talk to Lucario privately."

The hare looked down to his lover, watching for any changes in him.

"Okay," Lucario replied with a nod. He looked back to Cinderace and said, "I'll be back in a moment."

"Sure thing," Cinderace responded as he leaned down and gave Lucario a quick peck on the lips.

Lucario watched him wander around the camp as he and Inteleon headed toward the rim of the campground.

"So..." Inteleon started while rubbing the back of his neck. "I'll just come out and say it."

Fighting off the thoughts inside his head, Lucario listened intently.

"If I have given you any sort of reason to suspect I'd try to take Cinderace for myself, it's one-hundred percent unintentional."

Lucario crossed his arms.

"Earlier you seemed... angry, so to speak. And after thinking about what you could have seen and interpreted, I wanted to make it absolutely clear that I have no intentions with him. I want us to work together, and I wouldn't want matters like this to come between us."

The jackal looked him over. "You truly have no interest in him?"

"Well, no... because I prefer women."

This made Lucario pause and blink a few times. "Oh..."

"Cinderace is great, but... well... he's not what I'm interested in. And I'm sure he's very happy with you."

Now Lucario presented a small smile. "Yes... we had a talk about ourselves earlier. We've come to an understanding."

"Delighted to hear it." Inteleon put out a hand. "I hope we can continue working together."

With a nod, Lucario put out his paw to shake Inteleon's hand. "As do I."

As Inteleon smiled, he looked back towards the other pokemon and said, "Well, it might be dinner-time soon, so I'm going to go get in some more training. I'd love to spar against you sometime!"

"I wouldn't mind that," Lucario replied with a smile and a tilt of his head.

"Then I'll be seeing you later." Inteleon headed away, seeming to ask other pokemon around if they wished to join him.

Lucario looked around for Cinderace, who was busy looking up at the sky. He smiled and felt his face grow warm as he approached him, then wrapped his arms around his waist.

The hare jumped slightly as he looked down, then relaxed. "H-hey, what's this now?"

"I just wanted to do this,"

With a smile and a giggle, Cinderace replied, "Well... I'm sure not complaining."

Both pokemon remained there, talking sweetly about each other, having a new understanding about each other, and reaffirming their love for each other.

Lucario now welcomed the feel of Cinderace's fur, feeling his heart grow fuzzy each time he rubbed it. I'll love you until the day I die . He thought to himself while looking into his lover's eyes.
