Illumanati was lounging on the sofa, reading from one of her favourite books, when her eldest grandcub came bounding into the room.
"Afternoon nana" the 3 year old replied.
<Hello dear, what are you up too?> Illumanati
"Oh, I was told to keep you company by Grand pop" she said, settling down on the floor, both forelegs crossed, her tauren hind legs on either side of her body and her tail curled around her body, and her upper arms resting on the coffee table and her hands resting on either side of her face.
<Really?> she replied, looking at Lunablaze with affection.
<What is Stephan up too?>
"Oh, he's hapling dad with with the bbq outside"
<Let me guess? You were a nuiscence to them?>
"Yeah." Lunablaze muttered, embarrassed, her ears going a light red.
<That's ok, so, are you up for another story?>
Lunablaze perked up, with excitement in her eyes.
"Oh yes please!!"
<Ok, come on, sit by me, and I'll tell you a story>
Lunablaze quickly got up, and gently eased herself on the sofa, careful not to upset nana, who was not a young fox morph like she use to be.
Illumanati looked down at her grandcub, with her duel coloured eyes,one left green eye and one right gold eye, a rarity amongst her species.
Resting gently on Illumanati's lap, Lunablaze started patting her nana's right breast, fascinated by the green paw pattern there.
Another oddity.
Paw patterns on the right breast or chest in skunktaurs or chakats were an indication that they had traits passed down from their parents.
Red means Telepathy.
Blue means Telekinesis and Black means Out-of-body Projection.
Illumanati had a fox morph for a mother, and a skunktaur for a father.
And as such, she had gained a unique psychic abilities.
Telepathy, Rapid-healing, and as she discovered later on, teleportation.
Very rare to contain three abilities in one morph.
Illumanati softly stroked the small fur covered head, and Lunablaze started purring.
<Are you ready?> she projected into her grand cubs mind.
"Yes nana" Lunablaze replied, closing her eyes.
Softly, Illumanati, placed her right hand on Lunablazes head, closed her eyes, and started recalling memories of her past.
Lunablaze saw and smelled and felt everything that Illumanati experienced.
<What would you like to know?>
<How you and grand pop first met?> Lunablaze thought.
<OK, this will be when I was just a cub, younger than you are>
Images started to form, almost like a home movie, except, Lunablaze could feel, smell and see what nana did.
The first thing she saw, was darkness, and she felt herself engulfed in a bag of some sort.
She started to panic, and she started to cry out in pain, ohh god, her right leg was hurting, so bad..
Illumanati gently calmed her down, projecting a soothing smell.
<Would you like me to dull all the pain that I felt deary?>
<Yes please, that was horrible>
<Ok sweetie>
Lunablaze felt the pain subside, then was gone, yet she could still feel the bag.
She then heard a cough then a whimper and a cub crying out in distress.
At first she thought it was her, then she realized that it was Illumanati, as a cub, crying out.
Then brightness, and a shadow fell over her face.
Looking up, she saw a human face, young, handsome, and then she recognised him.
Grand pop, young, but definitely grand pop, his smell was the same.
Then she heard a growl, and deep menacing growl, and felt fear...
Illumanati was growling, in fear.
The human reached in, and suddenly withdraw his hand as she snapped at him..
Moving back, the human watched in earnest.
Inching slowly out of the confines of the bag, Illumanati kept her eyes on the human, wary, then her face hit the ground, and there was a yelp.
The human leapt forward and caught the young vixen.
Struggling in his arms, she bit down hard on his right arm.
He didn't let go of her, but replied,
"Shhhh easy there, I'm not going to hurt you"
Using a soft gentle voice, that seem to relax her a bit.
"shhh, easy girl, I'm a vet, I wanna help you" he added.
Illumanati released his arm, but continued to growl through bared teeth.
Then Lunablaze felt very tired, and everything went dark again.
<What happened?> she thought
<I passed out, weak from hunger and thirst> nana responded.
<Oh, are you ok to continue?> she asked, concerned that the strain would tire her out.
<No my dear, I'm ok>
Lunablaze suddenly saw light again, this time, she was in a bed, in a room, clean, a vet's recovery room for patients.
She saw a drip in her right arm and that her right leg was bandaged.
Then Lunablaze felt something new, an alien feeling, but she could understand it.
<What am I feeling nana?> she asked
<That is Guilt>
<What is guilt nana?>
<Have you ever done anything bad?>
<Yes>
<Did you ever feel bad afterwards for what you did?> she asked
<Yes>
<Well that's guilt>
<Oh, why were you feeling guilty?>
<Coz I hurt that nice human, when I was scared>
<But you were scared nana, I would be too."
<But that still didn't mean I wasn't sorry for hurting him>
<Ok, so what happened next?>
Lunablaze experienced feeling dizzy, just like she felt when she use to spin around in a circle really fast.
Then she felt hungry, not a small hungry, but a huge hungry.
And thirsty as well.
Then thoughts went through her mind, a fox morph with a kind caring face, and a skunktaur, male, with a red paw on his chest.
Although Lunablaze didn't recognised them, she know from the stories that nana and grand pop told, that they were great grand pop and great grand nana.
Nana's parents.
Then she felt sadness wash over her, as she saw them both in cages.
<The bad men in white coats?> she asked
<Yes, that's what those bastards did to mom and dad> Illumanati cursed.
<And, NO, you can not repeat that swear word>
she said sternly.
<Ok nana>
