#2 of Roommates

This is the clean version.

After spending months doing strange work for a mysterious talking wolverine, a young college girl is reaching her mental limit and is on the brink of going insane.

Tensions were high inside the household.

Weeks of dealing with the supernatural had turned into months, and the young squad of a dozen college students were not built for this kind of terror. Ever since Milrew entered that house that eerie Friday night and deemed himself the new landlord of their household, they had been forced into one strange event after another, and the horrifying revelations about their world were more than their minds could bear.

Emma entered the front door and slammed her keys down on the endtable. What a day it had been! Her professor asked to see her after class to discussing her plummeting grade. What could Emma say? If she told the professor the truth that she was distracted from school work by demons spawning around town or a loose werewolf, they would have locked her in a cage!

Emma moved into the kitchen to find something to eat. A slice of bread with some peanut butter would do. As she was chowing down, Milrew entered the room. The stout wolverine man wearing old-fashioned clothing looked up at her and smiled warmly.

"Greetings, Emma," said Milrew, "How was your day?"

Emma swallowed the bread, and sighed, "I'm falling behind in some of my classes. A lot of the things I've been doing for you are distracting. I'm stressed out."

Milrew chuckled warmly, "Sounds like someone needs a stress relief!" he leaned in and rubbed Emma's thigh, "Why don't you take the evening off and..." he leaned in closer and whispered, "masturbate?"

Emma blushed and nearly choked on her bread, "I... what?"

"There's no need to be embarrassed," said Milrew, "We all do it. We're all animals!"

"I'm not an animal," said Emma, "I'm a myuman!"

"Myuman's are just animals deep down," said Milrew. Making Emma uncomfortable, he patted Emma again, this time closer to her groin, "All myumans want to _unleash_their animal side!"

"I... I don't," said Emma. She finished the bread and raced to her room. Closing the door to her dark windowless bedroom, she took a few seconds to bask in the dark before switching on the lights. Her answering machine kicked in with her mother's voice, "Hello Emma. Me and your father will be there at 7:30. We can't wait to see your..." but Emma couldn't pay attention. It all felt so pointless.

After laying on her bed for a quick minute, she remembered she left her keys by the door. She went out into the halls and walked down towards the kitchen. The house was eerily quiet. Milrew's presence was gone.

She went to the endtable and grabbed her keys. On the way back, she bumped into Darryl, one of several roommates in that house. He looked downtrodden, comparable but not exceeding her own anxiety.

"Oh, hi" said Darryl with the spirit of plain toast.

"Hey," replied Emma.

"How was your day?" he asked.

Emma shrugged, "Uhhhh I am not doing great in some of my classes." She took a hand to her head, "A lot of this Milrew business is stressing me out and it's making it hard to concentrate."

Darryl sighed, "I know what you mean. How are we supposed to live our lives when we have to deal with demons all the time?" He lowered his voice, "Not to mention that end of the world that Milrew talked about... Do you think he was serious?"

Emma nodded solemnly, "I think he was..."

It was two weeks ago that Milrew sat down everyone in the house, all the myuman college students whose lives he had exploited to deal with supernatural problems across town, and told them about a coming diabolical force that will try to destroy Earth in twenty years. This caused a panic among all the myumans in the house with many wishing that Milrew hadn't told them about it.

"What are we going to do?" asked Darryl.

Emma was silent. Darryl continued, "To think I'm going to be forty years old when the world ends. God, at what age should I start praying for death?"

Emma had no answer and the grim conversation ended in an inconclusive silence.

As the night rolled in, Emma heard a commotion outsider her room. She peeked out and saw figures walking around towards the front of the house where the kitchen/living room was. She walked up to check what was going on.

A gang of assorted creatures were marching around the living room, some carrying supplies. Some were anthros and despite being animals, had figures similar to myuman forms, while some had animal forms, like the trio of weasel walking across the floor on all fours. Emma knew they were intelligent because they were wearing clothes.

She didn't know how to address a room full of talking animal monsters. She had to force out the air to make the words, "Hey, what's going on here?"

A cockatoo resting on the a nearby stack of magazines on a shelf spoke up, "I am assuming you are one of the residents of this house? One of the myuman residents," He didn't wait for Emma's reponse, "Milrew asked us to change one of your bedrooms into an alchemy lab, so that's what we're doing." He looked around the room, "So you myumans all live here? And go to the local college?"

Emma nodded. Just then, out of the other hallway out of the bedrooms, a tall monster man walked out from the doorway, barely not hitting the roof with his tall frame. He was leonine and bearish and his anthropomorphic figure was especially muscled. He turned to see Emma and immediately got ferocious.

He raced up to Emma, almost knocking the cockatoo off the ledge. Emma was paralyzed with this beast approaching her. Her throat went all in which ways at once to form a scream but couldn't do a thing.

The beast roared ferociously enough to break glass. The other animals in the room were shocked and immediately tried to stop the beast. The cockatoo could barely be heard over the roar. He shouted, "She's fine! She's fine, Harold! What are you doing?"

The beast quieted his roar and Emma was standing there with her arms tensed up to her body, shaking like an old motor. She whimpered.

The cockatoo groaned, "Harold, you petrified the poor girl!"

"She ain't fainting though," said Harold, "Can't have that!"

Some of the other guys around came to restrain Harold while he readied to roar once more. They told him, "She lives here! She has a room here!"

Harold, the beast, looked sympathetic, and held his hands innocently, "Oh, I'm sorry there."

Emma stood there, whimpering and shivering. Harold reached out to comfort her but she flinched away. She looked around, embarrassed, then took off back into the hall, en route to her bedroom.

She closed the door behind her and let her bask in the darkness. A few seconds passed and she flicked the light on, and she sunk to the floor, trying to catch her breath.

Emma thought about staying in her room reading books for the entire night, but eventually she got thirsty, and had to go out. She opened the door, peaked down the back side of the hallway then the other towards the kitchen. It seemed quiet. She walked down slowly, peering into the living room and kitchen to see if there were people present. No one was there.

She went to the cupboard to get a cup and brought it to the sink. She let it fill a bit before taking a big gulp then returned it under the faucet to fill up. A full cup, that should be good for awhile.

There was another someone creeping in from the corner of her eye. Was it Milrew? No, it was someone else. Emma turned to look at them. He was a panther man, like those she had seen around, although he wore only a pair of pants. His furry ebony chest was out in the open. Emma looked up and looked into the face of a beast, a strong and chiseled face.

"Hello, myuman," the panther said in his dulcet voice.

Emma was intimidated by the strong-looking man. He was calm but he could have turned beastly on a dime.

"Uh, hi" said Emma.

"You must be one of the residents of this building," said the panther.

Emma remained silent.

The panther smiled, "My name is Edelgard. Yours?"

"Emma," said she.

She looked over his body more. It was strange to see a topless animal person but Emma had to admit to herself that he was pretty jacked. He had big muscles and a solid six-pack. His pecs were like made of stone.

He purred and said, "I hope you are not too disturbed by the presence of us animals. Some of us can be quite scary but some are very friendly." He raised his eyebrows.

His voice rode over Emma like a gust of warm breeze. Emma looked him up and down and started to notice how perfect his body was. She looked into this face and no longer was it the face of a beast but the face of a _sexy_beast. A face Emma wanted to touc h and caress.

She couldn't help herself. She looked down at this waist and wondered what he looked like with those pants off. She started to firm up. She couldn't help but get moist.

Then she realized what was happening. She was hot for a panther! Was she going insane?

Edelgard purred, "Woud you like to find out who?" He reached for her and as soon as that claw touched her shoulder she snapped away. A few breaths. She felt exposed, and saw the hallway back to her room. She briskly walked back towards her room, confusing Edelgard.

She closed the door behind her and drank deeply from her cup.

Later on in the night, activity in the front room picked up. A small squad of anthro animals and talking ferals wearing clothes were directing large pieces of equipment from the garage beyond the kitchen into the second hallway on the other side of the house. People bumped into things, and noise was made.

Emma, laying down on her bed, couldn't relax with all the noise. Despite her embarrassment earlier, she marched out to the living room to see what was up. She complained loudly and the workers didn't know how to react to a myuman resident protesting their work. Milrew heard her shouting from the other room and came out.

Milrew tried to calm her down. "Emma, let them work! They are working to improve this house!"

"Not the way I see it!" said Emma, "All it'll do is allow more creeps to live here! I didn't sign up for this."

There was a rumble in the driveway. The cockatoo was perched nearby, on the window sill. He lowered the blinds to look outside and perked, "Uhh... Milrew!"

Milrew couldn't hear the cockatoo, "Have an open mind, Emma! I am letting you in on a world of wonders!"

"You've let me in to a world of horrors!" said Emma, her eyes becoming manic and fiery with rage, "Ever since I met you, it's been nightmares!"

"Uhhhh, Milrew?" said the cockatoo once again.

"It just takes some time to get used to," said Milrew.

"I'm not going to get used to this!" said Emma gesturing around the room at all the animal people, "I'm going to go insane!"

There was the sound of muttering and footsteps coming to the front door. It opened and everyone froze. In walked two grown myumans- Emma's mother and father.

"Hello Em-" before her father could finish the sentence, he glanced around the room. There were animal people, walking around, carrying mechanisms, wearing pants. Animal people big and small. They stared back at him, stunned and unsure what to do.

"Holy shit, monsters!" the father exclaimed.

Emma's mother shrieked.

The two turned tail and ran off into the night. Emma ran out to chase them, "Wait wait!"

Milrew shooks his head and realized what was going on. They were going to alert everyone about the animal people in the house! Milrew had to do something. He dashed out the open door, got a good angle on the fleeing parents and reached out his hand.

"Caninus feralus!" he spoke.

A beam shot from his fingers and shot right at Emma's mom and dad. Emma was silent and stopped dead in her tracks when the two were caught in a yellow light. The forms compressed into the shape of dogs and then they fell to the ground.

Emma looked at her parents. Her mother had been turned into a collie and her dad into a golden retriever, still wearing the clothes they wore as a human, although reshaped for their medium-sized dog body. They panted, idly staring into the distance until the mother looked over at the father and presented her back to the father. The father got up and started humping his wife's backside, through clothes and all.

Milrew walked up and Emma stared at them, completely still. Milrew couldn't tell what Emma was doing until he came around her and saw her face. She had a vacant expression, was giggling quietly, and had drool coming out of her mouth.

She looked at Milrew, "Urk!"

Milrew frowned, "Oh no..."

It took some help from the workers in the house, but they got both dogs and a compromised Emma back in the house. The dogs were taken to the backroom where a gate was set up to hold them. They were stripped of their clothes and left to their own whims, which meant humping all over the pen.

Emma was sat down on the couch. Some of her myuman roommates came out to see what was going on. Trey was frightened to see one of his roommates in such a state and although it wasn't the first time he saw someone in a dumbed-down state, there was a strange air about this time.

Milrew asked all the animal workers to leave for the night. The house was empty save the myuman residents and Milrew.

Dora looked up and down Emma, who sat on the couch, idly staring into space with a dumb grin on her face.

"Did she get zapped with something?" asked Darryl.

Darryl was referring to the few times that someone they knew got 'zapped' in a way that reduced the person's intelligence and set them into a primal trance like Emma before them. The difference was this was a very direct method.

Milrew sighed, "I'm afraid not. This was caused by stress, and it's not an easy thing to shake off."

"What do we do?" asked Trey.

"We have to let her wear it off," said Milrew, "It may take days... or weeks."

"What do we do with her?" asked Trey.

Milrew thought for a moment. He remembered the cage downstairs in the basement. It was cleared out recently and would make a good place to stash an animalistic myuman. Milrew and Darryl escorted the dumbed-down myuman into the basement.

Darryl shoved Emma in the cage in closed the door behind her. The lock mechanism was complicated enough so that a dumb myuman couldn't figure it out. Emma stared at Darryl with confused eyes. Milrew gestured Darryl out of the basement. Before Milrew left, he took one last look at Emma as she tried to rip out of her top, and then went up the stairs.
