kazebi- myself, a red dragon with a spaded and flared tail (==<>{)) his eyes are silver with red irises and black pupils. stands roughly 6 ft at shoulder hieght and 7 ft long torso, his tail adds another 7 ft to his length and his neck adds 3 more to that. his wing span is roughly as long as his body and is positioned on his higher middle back close to the spine. hes a great dragon all around, has issues with the past and holds the world on his shoulders. every mistake is a greivoise sin.

tochi- kazebi's bonded,(not mate) he is a human farmer who ran into a storm and found kazebi in his holding orb when a tree was uprooted. he accepted the bond and now enjoys the company of this cheerful dragon. also is a personification of my human self. nearly the same as kazebi in any given way, the only difference between him and his dragon is his body and slight mindset due to physical limitations there of. skin is white, hair is silver eyes are red and hes roughly 6 ft tall. farmer modest build, strong but doesnt show it.

amarik- not my character, but on my story regardless, with permission from the creator.

amarik hit it off with tochi in the offset of there meeting, was given a slight test to see what he thought of anthromorphic human dragonkin, and passed with flying colours. he fell pray to a battle and had to bond with a spectral lion in order to survive. his body now undergoes a constant change from lionkin to human depending on how long he allows his bonded to stay in his body. 6 ft tall, brown fur covers his arms where arm hair should be, grows more prevelent with time bieng occupied by bonded. blue strips cover his body, has gained a tail and slight speed enhancement. very stunning in person, if i do say so myself.

Dex the marrok- (marrok is my own invention of pure evil, take a crow, adamantite, a dementor and evil mix them together with anger and cunning and out walks a marrok) marrok is a bird like creature, wings on its back are no more than a skelatal frame. neck is 2ft long witha 2 ft long beak eyes glow yellow and red, body of a humanoid but coated in feathers as hard as steel, steals the joy of life and uses it for life and power, the more it takes the more it grows in power, tail splits off like a cat of ninetails whip with a poisonous barb at the end of each one,all of them holding a diferent poisen. his feet are talloned and have three front toes and one larger back toe. completly black feathers and an orange beak. pure evil at its finest. upon death it corupts the joy it fed upon and releases it in a huge explosion, destroying and form of life near it and causeing none to be able to grow back.

now, onto the past of kazebi!!

Kazebi looked down at his sleeping bond mate, Tochimezu. The human was by no means someone to take lightly, if you were another human. His skills with the sword had improved tremendously under the instructions of the half lion half human Amarik. Nearly the splitting image of each other in personality, they had grown nearly inseparable, yet as close as they were, Kaze and Tochi were even closer.

Through the power of their bond they had grown into each other's lives, spirits melding together, feelings freely coursed through their souls, every emotion gained a response from the other, very few secrets were kept and even those were hidden only so as not to be a burden to the other. Kazebi struggled to find a word for the depth of their care. He let out a long sigh as he looked up into the night sky, even love seamed to pale in comparison to the depth of care that they had achieved.

Even in sleep Tochi could feel Kazebi's unrest. His form shifted often, reflecting Kazebi's grim demeanor. Kazebi changed his thoughts. Recently he had been thinking of the last time Tochi had ventured on his own. He had gone to get some information from an enemy castle, little did they know that the marrok was there for a special visit. that cursed hell spawn had nearly caused Tochi to lose everything, even his personality was held hostage.

When he had arrived from the mission he was unconscious in the arms of his brother, Orosuzo. Kazebi had delved deep into Tochi's mind only to find that the marrok had taken residence there. Even the memory of such an evil creature had attempted to take control of his mind. With an army of growing numbers, Dex, the marrok, even gained control of the ruling personality of Tochimezu.

The hackles on Kazebi's neck began to quiver at the thought, his anger rising from the depths of his mind flooding through his veins. (hey kazebi, what's wrong?) Kazebi looked down at Tochi. His mind was calmed with the peace that came from the mind touch. [i was remembering the time you were unconscious.] heh( which time?) [The one with dex...] there was a long pause. (you know that wasn't your fault.) Kazebi turned his head away from Tochi. (so even if i tell you...) [I wasn't there! YOU NEEDED ME... and i wasn't there for you. How... how could you forgive such a sin?]

Tochi turned over and looked up at kazebi. (isn't that for me to decide and you to accept?) kazebi looked down and growled his protest. (even if i forgive you, the real question is whether or not you'll forgive yourself?) kazebi looked away. (you know, You were the one that entered my memories and rescued me after i got back, doesnt that merit the title "bieng there when i needed you?") [that was-] (what... after the fact? and what would i have done if you werent there AFTER the fact? face it kazebi, you were there when i needed you the most. whether you think that or not doesnt change the fact that its true.) tochi closed his eyes.

Anger began to rise in kazebi's chest but quickly disapated when he realized the truth in the thought. he grimaced in response, but a slight weight began to rise from his chest. he breathed in deep and released the pent up emotions in his body. [thanks] heh. (nah. its why i'm here. you'd kill yourself with regret if it weren't for me!) a smile spread across Tochi's face. Kazebi grinned [yeah, and you'd die of recklessness.] pfft.

(hey, kazebi, you never did tell me why you ended up in that holding crystal in the first place.) [you need to sleep.] (i'll manage.) Kazebi shook his head in amusement. [i'm only gonna tell it once.] (that's fine, if the others need to hear then i'll tell them.) [your impossible.] (you mock me? who is the one that defers the conversation each and every time? and you call me impossible.) [bah] (well? hop to it dragon, i want to know.) tochi's demeanor became serious.( besides, at one point, i might need to know.)

Kazebi sighed. he was hoping to postpone this a little longer, but now seemed the perfect time. [there better not be any interruptions] (promise) [close your eyes.] Tochi obeyed. [now let me take over] ('kay)

Kazebi linked their minds eye and pulled tochi into his memories. into the distant past when he was home.

[open your eyes] Tochi did, but what he saw wasn't he midnight sky. the day was clear and the sun was bright, almost as though it was magnified, two red dragons broke apart the clouds as fierce game of chase was in the making. "HEY, KAZEBI! SLOW DOWN! Your wings are bigger than mine!" "hahaha! that's not my problem now is it!" "You could still do me a favor!" "Yeah, right, as soon as you catch me!" They continued to spiral around each other, diving and dodging, the smaller one trying to tag the end of Kazebi's tail. "hurry up i want to get home for the hunt, preferably before they kill the deer." "So that's why you want to get back so quickly, you always think about your belly." "Yeah, whatever, get a move on, we're almost there!" "You're not gonna win this time!" "tch, i could beat you with a broken wing!" "wanna bet!"

There game of chase quickly escalated to a full race. Kazebi pumped his wings vigorously, using everything he'd learned from his family to keep ahead. He quickly gained the advantage and flew with blinding speed. In his moment of exuberance he got cocky and lost track of the air currents. A downdraft caught him by surprise, forcing his wings to his sides. He plummeted to the earth in shock as his mind tried to understand what had happened. He soon recovered and angled his body to the surrounding updraft. As soon as he felt the wind change he opened his wings, straining to keep them level with his body, as his body rose into the air. (HA that was a child's mistake!) Kazebi growled[i was caught off guard, that's all!] (whatever, but now i'm in the lead!) [yeah, let's see how long...]

The thought died as he caught a scent on the wind. [hey Sonra, do you smell that?] Kazebi slowed down till he was hovering in the air. (smell wha...) Sonra gasped, "But how can that be? Were still a neutral clan!" they dove down, cutting through the clouds.

A gruesome sight met their eyes as the white vapor dissipated from around them. At first Kazebi didn't believe it, but as he circled closer to the ground it became clear that there was a slaughter. Sonra circled with kazebi as they took in all the carnage laid out before their eyes. The misshapen bodies of men littered the ground, the smell of burning flesh became the most prevalent smell as piles of corpses remained, still smoldering. There clan, 83 dragons strong, now decimated to a meager two. kazebi landed in the midst of the carnage. blood pooled where the soft earth gave way under his weight. this ground used to be ideal for teaching whelps how to fly, but as they surveyed the land, all they could see was the bodies of their beloved clan, broken, torn, in the throes of agony as there last breaths were stolen from their lips. Though, gruesome as all these things were, they paled in comparison to what Kazebi had waiting for him. His own family, not on the field of battle but in there cavern.

kazebi's body began to quiver as he approached his once peaceful home. in the entrance there were many burn marks, piles of ash, and deep crimson blood. Sonra came to Kazebi's side. "You don't have to go in..." Kazebi's voice shook as he replied "But I must know."

With each step he took into the cave his body quaked harder. His eyes roamed the wreckage of the hall, as they did he saw his fears turn to reality. long trails of blood directed him to the first one that fell. There at the end of the hall into the main den lay the body of his father. Kazebi stopped as tears welled into his eyes. After what felt like hours, he moved forward. He saw that his father had been mutilated; his eyes were missing, as well as his horns and many of his teeth. The scales along his body had randomly been skinned off. As Kazebi moved on to the next room he noticed that the spade and flare of his father's tail had also been claimed. At this he stopped and wept. [they couldn't even leave the sacredness of flight alone!]

He let out a long hollow wail and as he did an answering wail came from the mouth of his home. He wanted to turn back, he wanted to leave this all and run away from the anguish that he felt, but even as he thought of that, his mind held him hostage. [where would you go... what will you do... running will only force this to come after you. if you do this now it will lay in peace.]

Kazebi settled his mind as far as he could and took one slow heavy step in front of himself. He kept going and eventually found his mother, falling over her decapitated head. Kazebi's breathing was short, quick and ragged. He looked over to his left and found the remainder of his mother's corpse. Hers was mostly intact, everything, except her claws, still attached. He continued into his sisters sleeping area. He expected what he found there. his older sister was protectively curled around her new clutch, burn marks were evident on the entry way, but even the strongest females couldn't move much after they had laid there clutch. Her body was untouched, save for the arrow protruding from her mouth through her skull.

Kazebi's tears wouldn't come anymore, he didn't have a single one to shed for her loss. He ventured in further to see if the humans had neglected the clutch, but to his great sorrow, they had even delved so low as to destroy the unborn. His heart was heavy, so heavy with grief. His family was gone. His den mates were dead. The clan was no more. His only way of living, taken from him without his knowing. His body gave from underneath him at the weight of his grief. There he lay on the floor. It could have been minutes, it could have been days. He wouldn't have even cared if years had passed. But as he laid there swallowed in despair, a wail seeped into his hearing, it became stronger and more inviting the more he gave heed to it. Finally, he lifted his body from the ground and followed the song of mourning. It led him to the cave entrance where his only remaining den mate, Sonra, awaited his return.

When he came out from the depths of the cave the sun had moved a quarter of the way through the sky. Sonra ended his mourning on a longful note expressing his deep desire for the comfort of those who were now lost forever. Kazebi's glazed eyes stared into the smaller red, he tried to speak but found it impossible.

"There is no need to speak of the cursed things which has befallen our clan today" Sonra had changed his tone to that which was reserved for formal occasions. "Today we are thrust into despair with but few options. Kazebi, what wilt thou do?" Kazebi's thoughts reflected on his family, how they had spoken of these situations before. A single thought broke through his mind with crystal clarity, he sent that idea to Sonra. Sonra nodded his head, "a holding gem is a fair choice and, more oft than not, the wisest route. Be thou safe in thy journeys, Kazebi, for I choose to stay and look for any that might have escaped. I will exact our revenge on those who caused us this pain, it brings me great sadness that thou wilt not accompany me."

Kazebi remembered the words of his father, his once comforting voice bringing pain to his soul as he heard the words echo in his mind. "Those who live for vengeance often find themselves empty handed when they achieve their goal, then what do they live for, nothing! For everything they had was spent in achieving there one goal. That is why we live, not to destroy those who did we wrong but to show them that we can surpass there wrong doings with goodness of heart and strength of spirit." Kazebi tried to send this to Sonra but his mind was filled with all consuming rage.

There was nothing he could do. Nothing for his family, nothing for his friends and nothing for peace of mind. The very thought of his useless state brought him even further into despair. He turned away and walked back into his cave, there he went to his room, trying to skirt the massive pools of blood, but to no avail. In his cavern he saw what he sought at the far side, the gem of holding. He went and collected it, as he did he saw a small red scale in the middle of the floor. he stared at it, it seemed important, linked to something or someone, somehow. But he couldn't put it into his mind to remember. He turned and walked back to the entrance of the cave, leaving the scale behind, there he set the orb down on the ground.

"Goodbye... Sonra, your ancestors fight alongside you, don't lose sight of who you are." "Goodbye Kazebi. May the wind always be at your back. Don't fall into the darkness that now enshrouds you." Kazebi tapped the red orb with his claw twice, the feeling of magic exploded into the air, the gem lifted off the ground and spoke to Kazebi's mind. It was a deep melodic voice that rose and fell as the orb did.

{Do you wish to enter into the crystal of holding, Kazebi?} [yes...] {Once you enter, you can only be released by another who wishes to bond. do you understand this?} [yes.] {while within the crystal of holding you will be put into a type of stasis, there are two choices, you can be in a waking stasis, or a sleeping stasis. both will sustain your life equally. in waking stasis, you will be aware of your surroundings and sound will reach your ears. time will pass as it does now, in sleeping stasis, you will not notice the passage of time and all will be as one day. your body can not age in the holding crystal, and neither can it waste away. make your choice.} [waking stasis] {Are you sure?} [yes, there are things i need to come to terms with.] {Very well, the choice has been made. touch the crystal with your palm.}

Kazebi looked over at Sonra, his eyes were gleaming in the fading sun, large tears rolled down his face as Kazebi reached forward to touch the floating orb. His palm made contact {your choice is final.} Kazebi felt a pulling sensation as he was drawn into the confines of the orb. When the process was complete Kazebi looked around, he could see and hear everything outside the orb. But it all meant nothing to him now, he turned his sight to his memories, and coming to terms with the tragedy of his clan. He knew that he would have all the time he could need, there was no rush.

Those last thoughts echoed around Tochi's mind as he slowly came to the present, the moon shifted halfway across the sky, neither of the two felt tired. Silence encompassed the night. Kazebi's mind raced with doubts. [now that he knows my past, will he still think of me the same?] That was his greatest fear, the one that stemmed them all. Everything in their bond was on this line, every moment fine tuned to this single question. Kazebi tried to put the question into form, but all he could muster was a confused sending of mixed emotions.

(are you really that unsure of what i think?) Kazebi was slightly stunned when Tochi stated the very thing that bothered him. He turned his head, ashamed of being found in his doubt. (kazebi, i am your bonded, you know me the best out of everyone on terim. i couldn't think differently about you if i tried, even if your past is a walk into hell, how could i ever leave you to face that alone?) Kazebi knew the answer, there was no way they would ever desert each other. Relief ebbed inside of him, fear lost in the overwhelming sense of it. The secret of Kazebi's past had been revealed and accepted. His whole frame shook with relief. Everything in the world seamed right.

Kazebi was brought back to his senses abruptly, the new found joy was leaving him. Being stolen away. Kazebi jumped up and gave a warning cry to their intruder. "COME NO FURTHER!" Tochimezu scrambled up beside him. A slick dark voice answered in reply "I'm already as close as I need to be" Tochi began his morph, "TO SLOW!" there was a sudden welling of enormous power, Kazebi reached over to Tochi and pressed him flat to the earth. As soon as he'd done so the power collapsed around him, the world began to fade away, darkness enveloping Kazebi whole. He felt the earth give way under his feet. He was falling, but he couldn't see where, he instinctively opened his wings to slow his descent but even that did nothing. Kazebi bellowed out in a mix of rage and fear, but still he continued to fall. The darkness pressed in on him even deeper, seeping into his mind, forcing him to calm, forcing him to fall into oblivion.

The last thought that ran through his mind was the sorrow he felt at knowing that this was the end.
