An upload? Omg an upload! Wow!

Yes I know it has been a LONG time since I have posted a story. I will hopefully be explaining a few reasons why in an upcoming Journal post. However I will apologise here for such a long gap. It has frustrated me that I haven't been writing but hopefully my dry spell is over for now.

While this may not be a story anyone expected me to update, it was the one I have had in the front of my mind for a while now. There are a few possible spoilers to Fox in a Wolf pack here, but I will be avoiding them as much as I can till I have gotten up to that in said story.

If you have not read 'Fox in a Wolf Pack' please do as it will explain much of the terminology used. It can be located Here

As always Please don't forget to Comment, Fave and Vote as it helps hugely for future chapters! How can I improve without feedback?

I also now have a Ko-fi if you feel like helping me along.

Warning, this is an 18+ story, anyone under that age should leave NOW. Contains Adult themes and language and is not suitable for any under that age.

Sitting on a lounge next to Galvin, his parents sitting opposite us, his uncle, the Alpha, Pacing behind them was discomforting. I had shifted to my mid form and removed my blindfold, yet because it was like looking through a frosted window, I mainly looked to the floor. My other senses keep track of what was going on around the room.

"So, you have come from one of the fanatically puritan communities," the large Alpha said, matter-of-factually "There aren't many of them left, and the nearest feline one is three states over... This is going to make a wonderful report to the council.

"Add to that that you have been on the run for several years, AND been caught stealing, pick-pocketing and more in that time" he added with a gusty sigh "This is going to make one complicated report..."

"I...I didn't want to cause any problems," I replied softly with a light whimper, pressing my tail to my chest "I... we... just wanted to survive."

"Oh honey, shh calm yourself," Galvin's mother, whom had introduced herself as Cassandra, cooed trying to sooth my distress "Now look what you've done Muffy, you could have worded all of that better. If Serabi was here she would have scratched you for that."

"I told you not to use her against me!" the large male almost roared angrily. The sound of a hand of a cheek made me squeak and look up, trying to see what had happened through my distorted vision.

"DON'T YOU ROAR AT ME MUFASSA!" Cassandra screeched in return "I will not be spoken to in such a manner! Goddess above If you don't get a grip on that temper I will do it For you!"

"Oh god here we go..." Galvin mumbled to my side making me turn look in his direction, feeling a little queasiness stir at the quick movement of my vision. "Every time you guys, can we not argue about that for just one time? I didn't even get to meet her, but I am sure she would be scolding all of you for bringing her up like this again! We are supposed to be the top pride in this community and here you are squabbling like children!"

I was impressed at how he seemed to take control easily, chastising them with ease and without fear of punishment. His lion had disappeared and I could feel he hadn't shifted which confused me a little. The soft grumbling from the others gave me some pride in Galvin, seeing the Alpha male he was destined to be, able to easily take control and silence an older Alpha and his own parents.

"Now let's just drop it can we? I have my mate now, and I don't want you lot scaring him off with your squabbling!" he growled out, arm draping over my shoulder to pull me against his side. Before anyone could say anything else the front door opened with a slam.

I meowed loudly in fear and snap change to my full form, darting for the first place my kitten could find to hide. This turned out to be under the sofa that Galvin was sat upon. I heard him curse above me and his lion appeared a moment later, dropping his head to look at me in curiosity as a tall man stormed in. Three others walked in behind him, clearly in no hurry, with one having a bored and irritated look on his face and another being a female fox in mid form.

The first stormed over to Mufassa and, without pause, sucker punched him making the Alpha stumble back holding his nose looking angry and surprised.

"Callen! What.."

"DON'T YOU PLAY THE INNOCENT HERE MUFASSA LEO!" the man, Callen, cut him off angrily "YOU AND YOU'RE FUCKING TEMPER HAVE BEEN GETTING ON MY NERVES LATELY!"

"Callen, Sweety, Calm down," one of the other males soothed. Callen, growled loudly before giving a gusty exhale, clearly trying to cool his temper.

"Mufassa I expected to come and have a lovely meal with your family," he started up again a few moments, now a lot calmer than he had been before "I did not expect to meet your grandson's lion in the driveway telling me you were starting shit again because someone mentioned Lady Sarabi. I Swear If I am met by Invar as I was in the driveway again, so help me I'll have you in the punishment room faster than someone can say..."

I didn't hear what he said as I squeaked in fear when two wolves and a fox appeared next to Galvin's lion. All looking under the couch at me in curiosity. I gave a soft whimper and tried to back away from them despite the fact they didn't look aggressive in any way.

"Lacen, Barrun, Randy, back off please." the human atop the couch requested "You are scaring him." I heard him shift, a hand appearing at the side of the couch he sat and he clicked his fingers softly.

"This way Bourn," he cooed out and clicked again. I darted over and was quickly, but gently scruffed, his hand lifting me from the floor to place me carefully in his lap. His hands acting as a barrier keeping all but his lion away.

Now I was in full form I could see everything better, although it was still a little hazy. Everyone was looking at us in curiosity, two of the males watching with an almost ecstatic glee. They probably believed me to be a full kitten that had been adopted or was being babysat. Internally I chuckled trying to imagine the look on their faces when they learned the truth.

"Back off you two, he's mine AND older than he currently looks." My mate said as his lion, Invar, sniffed at me before giving a loving nuzzle finding me uninjured.

"So, I see you have a new family," Callen said looking over and chuckled "Hello kitten, I am Alpha Callen, Community head Alpha and leader of the wolves in this town. This is my mate Ruban, adopted brother Neil and his mate Xander." each one gave a soft nod except Neil, the vixen, who gasped and looked at him almost looking scandalised.

"I'm Adopted?! Why didn't you ever tell me!" she overplayed dramatically "Oh and here I thought we were bothers! I always wondered why I was a fox and you a wolf, now I know! Oh Callen you're so terrible dropping these bombshells on me while so young!"

I was curious why Callen had said 'brother' and not sister, more confused when she even confirmed the term. Before she could continue her exaggerated drama, she yipped as her mate, Xander, pinched her. The others chucked softly and I looked to the two wolves and fox who were watching me, clearly wanting to step closer.

"The two wolves are Lacen and Barrun, while the fox is Randy," Galvin introduced them, gesturing to each "Alpha, Luna, and the two vulpines, This is my mate, Bourn, and his kitten Roe."

"Isn't he a little young?" Xander asked raiding an eyebrow "Bit disturbing if you ask me Galv."

"Give us a moment," Galvin replied rolling his eyes and got up, grabbing the clothes I had been given before and walked into the next room, shutting the door behind him.

"Ok hun, shift back for me and I will help you get dressed" I gave a light whine but nodded doing as told. He was quick to help me get dressed before guiding me back out to join the others. There was several 'oh wow's from them.

"And there you have it. Told you he is older than he looks," my mate said from my side with pride in his voice and a chuckle "Excuse the blindfold, he is blind as a human."

"This is like Neil all over again..." I heard Callen mutter with a sigh "Shelly is going to have a field day."

"As long as she doesn't start drinking, I don't think we will mind," Neil replied with a chuckle "Anyway, now we have the... introductions... out of the way, shall we make our way to the dining room? Xander and I have some exciting news!"

"Sound's like a good plan... although I will warn that the next person to start yelling will get a scratch." Galvin said warningly as he guided me through the lounge room towards our destination. He let me shift to mid form along the way after I explained I could somewhat see my food better that way.

The meal was like a gift from heaven, Galvin aided me as best he could but tried to let me be independent. My eyes sadly were bigger than my stomach even though I hadn't filled my plate and my eyes were less than reliable. I barely managed to get halfway through my meal before saying I was starting to feel sick from eating so much.

"So Neil... Lien? Hells I won't get used to that.." Galvin spoke up as he ate his own food "What is this 'news' you have to share?"

"OH! Right! Sorry nearly forgot," she excused herself with a chuckle "Well... it has been a while coming, and probably bad timing with the full moon tomorrow night. I'm sure there are others who would want to hear it first, but Xander and I decided that tonight would be a good time to announce it instead of tomorrow, and we have been waiting a few weeks anyway just to make sure because..."

"Neil, you're rambling." Callen interrupted, making her squeak in embarrassment.

"Oh... right sorry..." she apologised with a soft chuckle "We're... I'm... Pregnant."

"Oh congratulations!" Cassandra and Galvin announced happily while there was a chuckle from Ruban, Mufassa and Galvin's father, Leon.

"About time you two," Leon said amusedly "Your foxes have been whining about wanting kits for years now."

"Yes well... we never figured when the right time was," Neil explained with a sigh "there was all the drama that happened when we first met, The amount of silver and wolves-bane I had been exposed to could have caused sterility, the community was in shambles with the change of leadership, then the attack and subsequent rebuild to the town... it has been a hectic few years."

"At least finally things have settled down," Xander chipped in " We have the pack house running smoothly and with the hotel we opened doing well we finally decided to just..."

"Jump in the deep end?" Cassandra enquired before laughing "Cubs take a lot of work you know, it isn't something you can cut corners on."

"We know, Shelly has been very helpful so far, we have our first ultra scan in the morning." Neil said and sighed "I can accompany on the full moon hunt tomorrow but it will be my last one for a while."

"We have already agreed that if rogues turn up, she is to return to the safety of the packhouse at all costs," Xander announced "Luce will keep her safe."

"Hopefully that spate of pick-pocketing and minor thefts will be solved soon and things should hopefully be peaceful again." Callen said with a chuckle. I gave a squeak, jumping a little in my chair, accidentally drawing everyone's attention.

"About that... we shall talk later on that matter," Galvin said with a chuckle and gently rubbed his hand over my back "Needless to say I think it will stop."

I yawned loudly a few moments later and apologised, the other chuckling softly with Cassandra dismissing it as an issue. No one took insult when Galvin excused us from the table. He took me to his bedroom to lay down on the bed to rest. Having eaten so much It was understandable why I was feeling sleepy too. I hadn't had a proper meal in so long, and with all the stress of the day finally dropping off, I was ready to just pass out and sleep.

He gave my forehead a soft kiss before turning off the light and closing the door, retreating back down stairs to rejoin the others. Full of food, comfortable, warm and in the dark, I quickly fell asleep.
