"Off to Oreburgh!" I yell, starting to run out of Jubilife City.

"Wait! Jonathon! I haven't had any tea yet!" Martha yelled out to me.

"Tea?! You're making me wait for tea?!" I yell out annoyed.

"Oh c'mon, it won't take long at all." Martha told me while taking out a tea pot.

"Gah! Can't you see Chimchar? He's really pumped up for a battle right now, so we should get going!" I say.

"Oh pshah. You can wait for battles, but tea takes time." She calmly says while the teapot starts to whistle.

"Tea you can make anytime, some battles are only once in a lifetime chance." I try to reply back calmly.

Martha had already poured her some tea and put the cup to her lips. I started to move towards her to grab her and pull her with me.

"W-wait! W-w-w-what are you doing?" she asked wide eyed, as I grabbed her, making her spill the tea. "Oh c-c-c'mon, I only had one sip." She protested.

"C'mon, we gotta go!" I yell with rekindled determination.

"O.k., I guess now I have no reason to delay." Martha moped, looking back at the spilled tea.

"Alright! Let's go Chimchar. You too Martha and Yena!" I yell enthusiastically.

"C'mon Yena, let's go." Martha said, dismayed.

"Hey! Are you guys trainers?!" someone yelled out.

"Yes, we are!" I yell back.

A young kid starts running our way holding out two pokeballs. "You two want a two vs. one battle?"

I look at Martha seeing what she wants. She nods to me so I yell to the kid "Sure! If you don't mind losing!"

I see Martha pull out a pokeball as I yell for Chimchar to get into the field.

"Let's go, Aria!" I hear Martha yell.

"Aria?" I say pulling out my pokedex.

"Ariados, the Long Leg pokemon. Ariados sticks a strand of silk to its prey and sets it free. Later it finds the prey along with its friends."

"An Ariados? Nice, well, get this. Let's go, Sunflora and Chikorita!"

Martha pulled out her pokedex and scanned Sunflora.

"Sunflora, the Sun pokemon. It gets energy from the sunlight and is known for its habit of chasing the sunlight."

Since I still had my pokedex out, I scanned Chikorita.

"Chikorita, the Leaf pokemon. Chikorita uses the leaf on its head to determine the temperature and humidity. Chikorita also love to sunbathe."

"Alright, Aria, use Poison Jab on Sunflora!" Martha ordered her Ariados.

One of Aria's legs glowed purple with poison and started to move toward Sunflora.

"Sunflora, Protect!" Yelled out the kid.

A green protective field surrounded the Sun pokemon and repelled Ariados' attack. "Chimchar, Flame Wheel on both of them!" I yell out to Chimchar.

Chimchar engulfed itself in flames and headed toward Sunflora and Chikorita.

"Sunflora, Protect! Chikorita, Razor Leaf!" yelled the kid.

Nothing happened with Sunflora, but Chikorita duplicated the leaf on its head and flung them at my Chimchar. The leaves disappeared in the flames and burned away. Chimchar hit both of the opponents' pokemon and knocked them out in one hit.

"Yeah! Way to go Chimchar! That was a great Flame Wheel!" I tell Chimchar.

"You did great Aria and Chimchar. Return Aria. And Jonathon, I noticed you shivering when I brought Aria out.

What's wrong with my Aria?" she questioned.

"Well, it's not just about your Ariados, it's about every Ariados out there. I just hate spider pokemon, they're...scary." I confessed, embarrassed.

"Oooh, I see." She said with a sneaky smile.

"What are you thinking?" I asked worriedly.

"Oh, nothing." She said slyly. "I just might be able to use this to my advantage."

"Ok..." I replied uncertain. "well, it's almost lunch time, so we should let the guys out and make some lunch."

"Ok." Martha said, taking out her pokeballs. "C'mon out everybody!"

Out came Aria and a new pokemon I have never seen before. So you can guess I whip out my pokedex and scanned that pokemon.

"Froslass, the Snow Land pokemon. It freezes it's foes with its -58 degree F breath. What looks like its body is actually hollow."

"Oh, so that's a Froslass. I bet it will love my pokemon food." I tell Martha.

"Oh, you make pokemon food?" Martha asked.

"Not only pokemon food, I'm also a chef for friends and family." I explained to Martha. "C'mon Chimchar, let's get everything set up."

Chimchar helped me set up the bowls for the pokemon and plates for me and Martha. While Chimchar was doing that, I cooked some of my special soup for me and Martha.

"Mmm, this is delicious!" Martha exclaimed. "Where'd you learn this recipe?"

"I made this soup using my own recipe; I'm not only a trainer, but also a chef, like I had said earlier." I explained.

"It seems like the pokemon love their food too." Martha said, looking at the pokemon.

I look at the pokemon as well. Chimchar is happily eating the fire bits I made him, while both Noctowl and Starly are enjoying their meat bits. Froslass is enjoying her ice shards (which are not the move by the way). And Ariados, well, that was the only pokemon that didn't like my food, so Martha had to get it to eat something else.

After lunch and on the road again, Martha asked "Where are you from Jonathon?"

"Me? Well, I'm originally from Lavaridge Town in the Hoenn region, but three years ago, my family decided to move here to the Sinnoh region. My mom decided to move to Twinleaf Town, and that is where I met a professor named Rowan, and he gave me my partner Chimchar."

"Chimchar!" Chimchar piped in.

"Me and Chimchar have been inseparable since." I finish. "And how about you? Where are you from?"

"I am from the northern most point in Sinnoh, Snowpoint City." She tells me.

"Wow, isn't that cold?" I asked, perplexed.

"Only if you're not used to it." She told me.

"Well, I know I won't be used to it. But I think my Chimchar would be able to beat the leader there.

"Oh, you mean Candice? Well, I had to catch a new pokemon, and that pokemon was Aria. And after I defeated her, she gave me a Froslass."

"You beat Candice!? Prove it!"

Martha showed me the Icicle Badge she had received as proof of her beating Candice.

"I'll tell you one thing, she can be pretty hard to beat. And that's why she's my idol!"

"Oh c'mon, all you needed was a good fire type pokemon, and that's where my Chimchar comes in handy. By the time we reach your hometown of Snowpoint, he's already going to be a Monferno." I brag.

"Chimchar!" Chimchar yells out from ahead.

"Hey, what's up Chimchar?"

"Chimchar, chim, Chimchar!" Chimchar yells out, pointing to a cave.

"Hey Martha, is there a cave on the way to Oreburgh?" I ask Martha.

"Well, duh, of course there is. Wait, don't you have a map?"

"Hehe, umm, about that. No, I don't, you see, I forgot it at home." I confessed.

"Lucky for you, I have two of them." She said, exasperatedly.

"Why?" I ask.

"What do you mean? Doesn't everyone over-prepare?" Martha asked, with a shocked look on her face.

"No one really over-prepares anymore, it's just you. But I guess since you over prepare, I got a map." I reply.

Martha tries to laugh it off, and I noticed that the sun was starting to go down. "Hey, Martha, I think we should stop for the night." I tell her.

"Huh? Why? We're making great progress, if we stop now, we won't get to Oreburgh until morning."

"Exactly, we have to stop tonight so we can recharge our batteries for the gym battle. If we don't rest, our pokemon are already tired, we're tired, and it is going to be really tough to get through the tunnel in the state we're in." I explain.

"Yeah. I guess you're right." Martha gives in. She brings out her pokemon to let them roam around.

I do the same and start to bring out the cooking supplies. As usual, Chimchar helps out with the cooking. "O.k. dinners ready!" I yell out to everyone.

Everyone rushes in and gets their food. "Mmm, this is even more delicious than lunch!" Martha exclaims. "I always like to think that my cooking gets better every time." I explain to her with pride.

"Hey, do you want to have a practice battle after dinner?" Martha asked.

"You're on!" I reply, enthusiastically.

After dinner, Martha and I found a nice empty field to do our battle. "Alright, let's go Starly!"

"C'mon out Aria!"

"Alright, you get the first shot!" I tell Martha.

"Ok, Aria, Night Shade!" Martha yelled to Ariados. Ariados shot a black beam from the horn on its head at Starly.

"Starly, dodge the attack and use Quick Atttack!" I tell Starly. Starly started to glow white but not from the Quick Attack.

"Hey, what's wrong with Starly?"

"Starly is evolving. Starly is getting stronger and stronger, and when it gets strong enough it will start to change. It will evolve." Martha told me.

As Starly evolved, I noticed its appearance was changing as well, it got bigger, the little tuft of feather on its head grew out to almost a loop and the claws of its feet sharpened. As you can guess, I whip out my Pokedex and scan the newly evolved pokemon.

"Staravia, the Starling Pokemon. Staravia flies around forests and fields searching for bug pokemon. They usually stay within a huge flock."

"Sweet! Not I have a Staravia!" I yell out in glee.

"You're still not gonna beat me. I may have the type disadvantage, but I have more experience. Aria, Sucker Punch!"

Aria was too fast for my newly evolved Staravia and hit it with one of its legs. Staravia fell down unconscious and the battle ended.

"That was a good battle Martha!" I yelled out to her.

"You weren't half bad yourself!" Martha yelled back.
