A little story I did for myself a couple months back that was originally posted early on Patreon. I meant to post it a month after it went up on there, but life kinda got in the way XPJust myself into an anthro Midnight Lycanroc after an encounter with one whilst trying to flee from a hunter. Dunno if I should make either Lycanroc a character :PRated mature due to some bloody violence. And yes, the Pokémon I'm using in the story are all Pokémon I have, wanted to make it a bit more personal XDPokémon (C) Pokémon/Nintendo

"Get back here, you punk!" An angry voice called through the trees, giving chase after their target. "You're gonna pay for what you did!"

"Huff... huff... I honestly didn't know you hunters had this vile a temper...!" Peter panted, trying to keep one step ahead of the hunter. The Pokémon Trainer had stumbled across a group of poachers who were trying to capture a large group of rare Pokémon, and through a small amount of luck, he was just about able to stop the Pokémon from falling into their clutches. Unfortunately for him, the hunters turned their attention on him, one of them giving chase whilst others tried to spot him from afar, as if guiding the hunter to where he was. You'd think they'd all try to swoop in on him to fully cut off his escape, but it seemed that some of them were clearly lacking in the brains department.

"Oh trust me, this is NOTHING compared to what you're gonna see when I get my hands on you! You better have some rare Pokémon to make up for what you've cost us!"

"Like hell you're gonna get them!" He responded defiantly, zipping around a bend in the pathway - what he needed right now was some time to think of a plan, but he had no time to stop and properly ponder one. The thought of taking off on a flying Pokémon did come to mind, but he knew they'd be expecting it - they'd have something at their disposal to take him out of the sky, he was sure of it. "Damn it... I can't just keep running forever... and at the same time, I can't take them all on myself... what am I going to d-WOAH!" He gasped as he snagged his foot on a branch, causing him to fall forwards into a bush. Instead of it breaking his fall, he found himself rolling down a small incline, reaching what appeared to be a well-hidden clearing.

"Where'd he go?!" The hunter had lost sight of him, not noticing that Peter had taken a tumble.

"Don't worry, we'll find him!" One of the other hunters spoke through the earpiece the head hunter wore. "We haven't had a trainer slip out of our grasp yet!"

"Make sure that you do, otherwise you'll have me to answer to!" He responded, stopping to catch his own breath.

"Oof... that wasn't fun..." Peter winced under his breath, getting back to his feet. At least this gave him a momentary reprieve to try to think of a way out of this situation. He took a look up, and saw the moonlight peeking through the treetops, some of it filtering through the bushes. A small lake ran through the area, which meant that it had to be coming from an outside source. As tempted as he was to follow it, the nagging feeling that someone might be waiting for him stopped him from doing so. "Crud... come on, there's gotta be something I can do..." He paused when he heard a faint growling coming from behind him, causing him to spin around on the spot. He was preparing himself to face off against a hunter...

... when instead he found himself staring face to face with a Midnight Lycanroc. A shiny one at that.

"What the?" He looked at it curiously. Lycanroc wasn't the type of Pokémon you'd find in a forest, and yet here one was, looking at him. What was even odder was the fact that it appeared to be wearing torn clothing, and that its overall frame looked slightly more feminine. "OK, of all the times I find another shiny Pokémon, it's when I'm trying to escape from a mad hunter... although..." He thought about it - Midnight Lycanroc were known for being quite aggressive, goading enemies into attacking them... he might be able to use that to his advantage. "Sorry about this, but I've got no time to explain!" He reached into his bag, pulling out a Quick Ball, tossing it at the Lycanroc. To his shock, it just bounced off without doing anything. "Huh? How's that even possible?!" He silently gawked.

"You should know that's not going to work on me..." The beast said in a deep growl, taking him further aback. "I'm not your standard Pokémon!" She grabbed the ball, tossing it back towards the human.

"Great... you're not with them, are you?" He asked, not even thinking about questioning the fact that a Pokémon was talking to him.

"You mean the hunters that are on your tail? If I was, they'd have been alerted by now." She smirked. "But I can see why you tried... why don't I give you a hand to take care of them?"

"You mean that? I mean the group's fairly big!"

"Oh please, take down the leader and the rest will fall like dominos!" She stepped closer. "Who knows, it might be fun to help out a human in need..." She stared into his eyes. "Are you ready, then?"

"Ready whenever you are, yeah!" Peter nodded.

"Good... that's all I needed to hear!" Her smirk turned into a full on grin as she raked her claws over the trainer's shoulder and chest, eliciting a scream of pain from him.

"Huh?" The hunter paused, listening in on the scream. "Heh, I've got you now, you little brat!"

"Hehe, there you go!" The Lycanroc growled, licking the blood from her claws as Peter gripped his wounded shoulder.

"What... what kind of help was that?!" He shouted in anger.

"Oh trust me, I've done more for you with that alone than anything else I can offer!" She hopped up into one of the trees. "I'll be keeping an eye on you, friend~"

"Ack... what, is she thinking they'll take pity on me cause I'm all bloodied up?" He winced, looking at the cuts. "How can this get any worse?"

"I've found you now, you meddlesome little bug!" The hunter's voice boomed around him as the man leapt down through the overhead clearing.

"Crap!" Peter hid himself behind the tree.

"There's no use in hiding, boy - you've got nowhere left to run. So why don't you make this easy on yourself and just give me your Pokémon now, maybe then I'll spare you the beating you've got coming your way!"

"Oh trust me, I'm not running away... and you're not getting my Pokémon... if you want them so badly, you'll have to fight me for them!" He knew he was in way over his head, but he refused to take the cowards way out, nor was he going to give up the Pokémon he had spent years training to a creep like him.

"Sounds like you've got some guts... it's a shame that I'm going to have to crush you!" He smirked. "By the time I'm done with you, you'll never forget the name of the hunter that ground you into submission - Breaker!"

Peter rolled his eyes - that obviously wasn't his actual name, but hunters like him did like to make themselves as imposing as possible, even if they looked as skinny as a Bellsprout. This guy did cut an imposing figure, either way. "I don't plan on going down easy, if at all!" Peter reached for one of his Poké Balls, momentarily forgetting about his wounds, not even noticing that they had already healed up, barring some light scarring. "Go, Hadou!" He tossed it, revealing a Lucario.

"Not bad, but I can do better!" Breaker reached for one of his own, calling out a Tyranitar.

"He's sending out something that's four times weak to Lucario?" Peter thought. "I best take advantage of this! Hadou, use - " he started, but before he could utter the words 'Aura Sphere', Hadou was flung backwards, the Tyranitar having struck him with High Horsepower, a move doubly effective against his Lucario. "Hadou! That was just plain dirty, attacking before I called a move!"

"Save your tears for someone else! I don't plan on fighting fair, so you better be good at thinking on your feet!" He sneered, sending his Tyranitar to attack again. Peter frowned - people like him were just disgraceful. "Dodge and use Aura Sphere!" He called to his Pokémon. From the healed wounds on his chest, patches of white fur were growing in, unseen to all.

Hadou growled, narrowly missing getting hit by the Tyranitar as he charged up a ball of energy, wasting no time in launching it directly at its opponent. The move hit it head-on, sending the Tyranitar skidding backwards to its trainer. Breaker didn't seem too worried, however.

"Hyper Beam!"

The dinosaur-like creature growled, firing off a blast of energy straight into Hadou's path. Peter gasped - the Tyranitar must have been charging it up prior to getting hit, blindsiding both the trainer and his Pokémon. Even with the normal-type resistance, the damage from the prior sneak attack was taking its toll, the Lucario struggling to get back up.

"Hadou, return!" Peter called him back to his Poké Ball. "If you want to fight dirty, then, I'll try and match you! Go, Jinsoku!" He tossed a Dusk Ball, calling out a shiny Decidueye.

"Oho, you have a shiny! Guess that means you've got something of worth after all!"

"You're not gonna get the drop on her like you did with Hadou!" Peter said, the fur growing thicker, shifting to a deep red as it reached his arms and sides.

"Oh I believe I already have!" Breaker grinned - Tyranitar was already up in the avian archer's face, prepping a Fire Punch.

"Shadow Sneak, quick!" Peter called, Jinsoku briefly vanishing as Tyranitar's attack missed. "Now cancel and use Leaf Blade!" He added, the Decidueye reappearing behind the dinosaur as she switched gears, attacking with her wings, the quills sharpening up as she struck. Both wings connected, hitting the Tyranitar for heavy damage. It fell down to the ground, letting out a low growl as it passed out. "Great work, Jinsoku!" He beamed, the bird letting out a victorious chirp.

"You took out my Tyranitar? Oh, you're going to PAY for that one!" Breaker called back the unconscious beast.

"Hey, you're the one who was fighting dirty to begin with - how's it feel to have that strategy used against you?" Peter called out, smirking. His arms were growing longer, the muscles in his biceps strengthening up, still unseen by all bar the female Lycanroc.

"Keep talking, punk - I'm thinking once I take out the rest of your Pokémon, I'll take YOU out as well!" He called out his next Pokémon, a Houndoom. "Let's see how your Decidueye likes getting its wings clipped!"

"She won't last five seconds against him..." Peter thought. "Jinsoku, retu-" He was about to call her back when the Houndoom struck her with a Sucker Punch, launching her back into the tree where Peter was hiding. She let out a cry of pain before slumping forwards. "JINSOKU!" He cried out - it wasn't enough to knock her out, but the force she had hit the tree would ensure she wouldn't have a lot of fight left in her.

"What, I've got to make sure they don't go back ready to fight again!" Breaker chuckled.

"You... lowlife..." Peter growled, his eyes starting to glow red. His hand gripped a Luxury Ball, the fur creeping over it, the middle digits merging together as sharp, curved claws sprouted from his fingertips, the palms puffing out into pads. Again, this was unnoticed, partially in thanks to both his hiding spot, and the fact that his attention was drawn to both his Pokémon and his opponent. "Fine, I'm not going to hold back anymore! Go, Syren!" He threw the ball, revealing a large Milotic.

"Another rare Pokémon, you are spoiling m-" Breaker started, only to see Milotic strike the Houndoom with an Aqua Tail, sending it backwards. Peter really was using his own strategies against him - most trainers would still be fighting normally, but it was obvious that he had this one so backed up into a corner, he was resorting to trickery himself. "You little... Thunder Fang!" He barked, the Houndoom recovering as it sank its fangs into the Milotic's tail, sending electricity through her. She cried out in pain as she endured the hit.

"That's right, you're not gonna let something like that keep you down..." Peter thought, his body trembling. The muscles grew more pronounced, a sense of strength flowing through him, the fur growing thicker around his chest. "Use Aqua Tail again!"

Syren attempted to use the move, but the Houndoom's bite was so tight, she could do little more than wag it ineffectively. It didn't plan on letting go until the Milotic either fainted or became paralyzed, though it did give him another idea.

"Syren, use Water Pulse!" He commanded. Focusing through the pain, the serpentine creature released a string of circular blasts at the Houndoom, hammering it. "Keep it up until it lets go!"

"Houndoom, keep the pressure on it! You'll take it out before it does the same to you!" Breaker intoned, the canine biting harder, discharging more electricity into the Milotic. Peter glanced from behind the tree, seeing his Milotic struggle, obviously in great pain from the continuing bite. Seeing him treat Pokémon with such ill regards to their own health was making his blood boil.

"Roooooc..." A quiet growl left his lips. "Go for the head!" He told his Pokémon. Syren turned to him, somewhat confused by the sudden order, the trainer shaking his head. "Urgh... aim your Water Pulse at Houndoom's head!" He instructed, his voice sounding noticeably deeper than before.

"Miloooo..." She was the first to notice her trainer's changing appearance, his muscles still growing, his chest barrelling ever-so-slightly forwards whilst a pair of rocky spikes grew out around his midsection. A bump was pressing against the base of his shorts, the fur moving down. Now wasn't the time to question it, though, and with a quiet nod, she began aiming her Water Pulse at the Houndoom's head.

"I wonder how much longer your Houndoom can hold out?" Peter asked. "Syren's water moves are getting a big boost thanks to the Mystic Water she's holding!" He smirked, already he could see the Houndoom struggling to keep its attack going. It started to release its grip...

"Aqua Tail!"

... and Syren followed it up to a strike to the head from her tail, knocking the Houndoom out - was her trainer's growing aggressiveness rubbing up on her as well?

"Two down!" He grinned, recalling Syren before Breaker could pull another cheap attack with his next Pokémon.

"Why you..." Breaker growled - it was rare for him to have one Pokémon be knocked out, but two? He was seething now. "Come out and face me!"

"What, can't handle losing?" Peter taunted - a part of him knew that this was far from his usual behaviour. "I've still got three more Pokémon good to go!" He grasped his next Poké Ball, and when he held it up in front of him, it was then he spotted the large, furry paw holding it. "What the hell... grrghh..." He paused, another tremble running through him as he looked at himself, his body looking increasingly alien. His feet were cramping up in his shoes, the toes merging and growing within them, pushing the soles away from the rest of them as a trio of furred digits poked through, each sporting long, dark claws, the undersides of his feet now equipped with pads similar to those on his palms.

"I said come out and face me!" Breaker barked, reaching for his third - and last - Poké Ball. "Or are you going to keep hiding like a coward, punk?"

"Cow... rrrgghhh..." Another growl left his mouth as he felt something clawing at his mind. All this time he had been growing more aggressive, brought on by his changing form, now the instincts were slowly making their way outwards. Breaker was the one who was losing, his own strategies crumbling, and he dared to call him a coward? "Ly... Lycaaann...!" He snarled, holding his head in his claws as he struggled to suppress the urge to lash out. His eyes were flickering between his normal yellow hue and a bloodthirsty red. The shiny Lycanroc smirked to herself.

"You'll have to learn to control yourself... now you're becoming like me, you might find that battling will get you more worked up than before, and the longer it goes on and the tougher the fight, the harder it'll be to keep your instincts at bay!" She responded, her words only heard by Peter.

"Fine, since you want to keep hiding, go Chesnaught!" He threw out his last Poké Ball, calling out the Spiky Armor Pokémon.

"Rrroooooccc..." Peter swapped the ball he held previously for a Quick Ball. "Go... Celaeno!" He threw the ball, letting loose a shiny Corviknight.

"Another shiny?" Breaker stared at the giant raven. "We hunters have never come across a single one, and yet you have two?!" It started to feel like Peter was just doing this to further annoy the hunter.

"Lyyyy.... Oooh trust me, there's more, but you won't be seeing any others..." He had to strike whilst Breaker's guard was down. "Air Slash!" He shouted, just as a short, fluffy tail tore through the back of his pants, his hair growing longer, transitioning into a large mane. The Corviknight squawked in response, flapping her wings, creating blades of energy that struck the grass-and-fighting type. "And again!" He added, the red fur working up the sides of his face, the white fur growing elsewhere.

"Grrrr, I've had it with you!" Breaker growled, finally breaking himself as he withdrew his damaged Chesnaught from battle. "Let's make this clearing your burial ground!"

"Rrhh....rrrooooocccc..." Peter growled, recalling his Pokémon as he again struggled to keep himself in control. His ears grew to points, rock-like protrusions surrounding them, causing them to flop forwards, now sitting atop his head whilst his hair also grew outwards, the front-most part of it angling into a crescent-moon shape as it gained a solid, hefty spike. "You sure... rgghh... about that?"

"No-one makes a fool out of me and gets out in one piece! Now stop hiding behind that tree and face me like a man!" He demanded.

"Rrroooooccc..." He snarled, his jaws pushing forwards into a canine muzzle, nose darkening and merging with the tip of his new snout. His teeth sharpened into serrated fangs, several more growing in through the widening space in his mouth, the taste of blood hitting his tongue. His pupils shrank, all colour draining from his eyes barring the bloody red hue that overtook them, eyes becoming larger as they moved to either sides of his head. The human's resolve was all but gone, leaving a dangerous beast where he stood. "Like a man, you say?" He spoke, his voice sounding much deeper and rougher. "If that's what you want!"

Breaker sped forwards towards the tree, getting ready to throw a punch when he instead was stopped in his tracks and taken off his feet.

"U...uuhh...." He wheezed, falling back onto the ground, clutching at his chest - it felt like the impact might have broken a rib or two. "What.. what was..." He looked up at his intended target, and for the first time, he fell silent. Staring down at him was a large, imposing Midnight Lycanroc - except this one appeared to have a more muscular frame, not to mention it was wearing torn clothing, a trio of scars just visible through the damaged fabric. He started to ponder if Peter had sent it out to assault him, but he instantly recognised the clothing.

"Lycaaan..." He chuckled, looming over the downed hunter. His claws gleaned in the moonlight, twitching eagerly. "Look at you... it'd be so easy to finish you off here and now..." He placed a foot on Breaker's broken chest, causing him to yelp in pain. "To let your blood spill out..." The human's mind was warped by feral instincts, eager to put an end to this cold-hearted hunter... but at the same time, he was trying to hold some restraint - he was a Pokémon Trainer, not a killer. "But I'm not... I'm going to let you crawl back to your buddies, and you're going to turn yourselves in." He stepped away from him. "And if you try anything funny, then the little bit of me that's still human might decide you're not worth sparing, which means I'll take great pleasure in tearing your throat out!" He grinned impossibly wide, showing off all his fangs. "Understood?!"

Breaker, at this point, was thoroughly broken. He just silently nodded.

"Good..." He chuckled. "Now get out of my sight!" He turned away, the hunter shakily getting back to his feet as he stumbled away. "And as for you..." He looked towards the female Lycanroc, still sitting in the treetops.

"Heh, colour me surprised.. Most humans I've scratched or bitten became nothing more than beasts, fully giving into instinct, yet you've retained some degree of humanity throughout all of this~" She smirked, leaping down beside him. "I guess those who train Pokémon must be made of tougher stuff!"

"Either that or I just got very lucky!" He smirked back to her. "I could feel those thoughts clawing at my mind, growing more intense as the battle went on... I wouldn't normally resort to dirty tricks, but if he wasn't going to play fair, then why should I?"

"Well said!" She nodded. "I do apologize if my 'cursing' you was rough, I figured the situation you were in, you needed all the aggression you could take!"

"Think nothing of it, I'm still standing - though now I'm gonna have to... rrroooccc... explain this to everyone barring Syren, she figured out what was happening before I did!" He growled, still worked up from the battle.

"Indeed... I wonder if you'll mind me sticking around for a while, just to see how this all turns out? You're the first ex-human I've encountered who didn't fully lose their mind to the beast, so I'm curious to how you'll adapt!"

"I'm fine with that!" He smiled, still showing a lot of fangs, but it was sincere all the same. "The name's Peter."

"Call me Luna." She growled gently. "Let's make our way out of here, your Pokémon could do with healing after some of that guy's underhanded tricks."

"Right!" He grabbed at the ball containing Celaeno, calling her out for the two to ride out on. The Corviknight was initially surprised by the duo of Midnight Lycanroc facing her, two which could speak perfect English, no less, but the matter was soon cleared up, the bird taking flight with the wolves on her back.

"And who knows... if you're lucky, you might get to discover a few... personal... things about me..." Luna said slyly, stroking Peter's side with her claws.

"Lycaaann... let's hope my luck holds out, then~" He winked.
