The footsteps suddenly stopped all at the same time, everything remained quiet except for his wife who continues to cry in agony. The young wolf gave a low growl as he gave his final warning to whoever it was to back off. The eerie quietness was just too much for him to bear so he suddenly shouted with a growl, "Come out and fight!"

Finally a warrior fox jumps from behind a tree and thrusts his sword at him, but the young wolf far exceeded in martial arts and easily disarmed and defeated him by knocking him unconscious with a high kick towards the back of warrior's neck. Although he knew it was not over since he heard more and more footsteps begin to approach towards him.

The wolf continued to fight bravely, protecting the one he loved and for the protection of their only pup. One by one, the warriors fell one after another, yet one managed to sneak behind the wolf and managed a stab from behind. The young wolf yelped in pain as his wife screamed at the warrior to leave him alone, but they did not lift an ear to hear her cries. The wolf disoriented for a moment but returned the favor by instantly grabbing one of the daggers that one of the warriors had dropped nearby, and throws it at the warrior who had wounded him, killing him instantly as the sword penetrated his throat.

Three more warriors came and took advantage of the wolf being wounded. He had no chance as his strength was quickly draining due to the loss of blood from his wound on his back, and was finally pinned down by two of the three warriors. It seemed that the third warrior was of a higher rank than the others as he approached and looked down at the wolf saying in a low tone, "Nothing more than disgusting creature who roam our lands." At that point he unsheathed his sword and penetrated his heart, his head slowly turned to look at his wife one last time as everything he saw started to become blurred, giving a look to his wife as he whispered, "I'm... s-sorry...," his body becoming lifeless within the next moment.

His wife shouted and cursed at the higher ranked warrior for his action. In a fit of rage, not caring for his own kind being in pain, much less that she was defenseless, he punched her face as if she were another warrior. The two warriors immediately picked her up and placed her against the tree hard, also not caring whether the clamp that was holding her down was causing more damage to her ankle. Still in a rage, the warrior said, "You traitorous bitch! You have mixed your blood with those of lesser creature!"

"They... are not... less than we... are," she said in agony from the pain that now pulsed on her face and her leg.

"No they are not. In fact, they are far lower! They are nothing!"

"Then it's... too bad since you missed on so much... brother."

"I'm sorry but my sister died a long time ago before she mixed herself with those of a lesser being. You are nothing more than a bitch that deserves the ultimate penalty. STRIP HER!"

With no strength to fight back, she was quickly stripped from her clothes and dropped on the ground. The warrior raised his sword high for a moment, finally letting it swing down upon her fragile wounded body into her heart. Yet just before it struck her, she whispered out as if talking to a spirit, "Isinia... forgive me...," until she felt a sharp jab at her heart, her vision becoming blurred until nothing but darkness. The warrior lifted his sword as he looked towards the other two warriors, "Keep searching for their house! It must be nearby and I want the blood of the abomination they created! FIND IT!"

At the very moment they were both killed, and back at the young wolf's parent's home, the grandfather suddenly gave a shocked look at his wife, who also returned the same look to him, both knowing exactly what just happened. They knew they could no longer wait as they immediately proceeded to take the fragile pup into their care and enter their hidden tunnel underground. As they started to walk through the long dark tunnel, they quietly shed their tears, mourning for the young wolf and fox they had just lost.

"He died bravely you know," the grandmother said as her voice wavered a little due to the sadness.

"He died an honorable cause and so did his wife. May the great Alundarian spirits guide them to paradise."

"I cannot believe the young girl's own kind would even kill one of their own."

"It is unbelievable and unfortunate that they kill and destroy anything out of fearing the unknown. To think of one self as being mighty than another will only bring chaos."

"I sense so much trouble ahead for this little one, so much pain and anguish."

"Her life will have many hardships that she will learn to overcome and most of it will be on her own."

Many hours later after traveling through the long dark tunnel, they finally arrived at the exit, finally being safe and away from those who would do them harm. Still they had a long way to travel to reach their destination point, and so the continued to travel towards the next mountain which will lead them to a city where they can hide.

They traveled for days and only rested when they needed to, either for hunger or sleep. They were careful throughout their journey, never creating a camp fire for fear they would be spotted far away by either the smoke or by the light of the fire. It took them some days to finally reach their destination which was the mountain that overlooked a big city. The grandparents stood in awe at the city as one of them said, "We have arrived."
