This story was the first I've ever written. I've edited it a lot since the initial release but kept its original structure.

Chapter 19

There were two weeks left until graduation day. Time flew. Tomorrow was Monday, and the last two months felt like a breeze. Julie and Alyssa had managed to stay relatively close throughout that time, especially after the Midnight incident. Julie had also done as well as expected in all of her classes. She was guaranteed to graduate alongside Alyssa.

"You still thinking about chasing after that Elite Four fantasy of yours?" Julie asked Alyssa since graduation was close.

"Of course, it hasn't left my priority list. How about you? Found a region you want to get lost in yet?" They'd been exploring Johto more over the past two months together, and they were currently strolling through Violet City under an orange sky as the sun set, a calm area that wasn't far from Goldenrod. Its heavy amount of trees, quiet environment, and lakes brought Violet City its serenity.

"I think... I want to try Kanto. It has so many routes, towns, and cities that I want to explore. My mother said she'll help pay for me to get there, so I'm definitely going." Julie was excited, she knew a part of her would be homesick, but new views would give her a nice break at the same time. They stepped onto the bridge overlaying Violet City's largest body of water.

"Guess we'll be doing our own thing soon, huh?" Alyssa grinned at Julie. They knew their time together would be halted once they parted ways after graduation.

"Well, yeah, but we'll keep in touch, and I'll be back in Johto before we both know it, so don't worry about it," Julie reassured. She didn't plan on letting her go anytime soon.

"Of course... And on a side note, what do you plan on doing first with Midnight once he's yours?" Alyssa's curiosity had no limits, and she often pestered Julie without realizing it.

"I'm so going to hold him the entire way home, and it'll feel great to cuddle him all night." She grinned at the thought alone. Her nights would consist of her getting a lot more sleep. He was naturally a creature of the night, but as long as Midnight lay by her, it would be perfect.

"So... Only cuddles?" Alyssa teased again; it was too tempting not to.

"W-Well, I'm sure I can hold off until we're in Kanto. I do leave with him a day after graduation." Julie missed the love sessions they shared, however. The way he panted once he really got into it, and how he twitched his ears and paws as he would near climax. They'd be able to explore more options away from school grounds, not to mention how much more time would be given to them.

"Uh-huh," Alyssa left the subject alone, and they walked through Violet City for another hour or so before both heading home.

Julie sat on her front porch, pondering on the thought of leaving home. She'd never done anything like it, but in two weeks, Julie would hop onto a ferry to Kanto with her new pokémon. That's how it must feel when trainers began their pokémon journey from home. Julie chose not to take that route, and Alyssa was getting into it pretty late. It made her wonder if Midnight could battle. Julie had never seen him use attacks. She'd ask Mr. Willam about that, not that it would matter much as she wouldn't have him battling other pokémon.

Julie eventually went into the house, feeding Lilly before sitting on the couch downstairs. It was better than being in her room sometimes. In there was where Julie's mind ran wild, but that was because she was alone. Julie sat for an hour or so and watched whatever was on television before turning it off and walking upstairs silently since her mother was probably asleep in her room. Julie would take a shower since that always relaxed her. She would take one with Midnight to scrub his sleek fur and see how cute he'd look once he was out and dried with a towel.

It would be late in a few hours, and Julie didn't have much time on her hands. She had math problems to complete that she'd been holding off on doing all weekend. One may even say it was her least favorite subject. After tossing her book onto her bed, she got undressed in the bathroom and set her clothes atop the towel rack. Julie didn't feel that Monday was a burden this time. She'd feel happy during the next two weeks. It felt like an upcoming summer break, one that would last forever.
