This is a short teaser for "Skunk's Revenge." The full Ebook is on Smashwords. This is only the first six pages of the short story. When pushed too far Sebastion takes things into his own hands and decides he's getting a one night stand, no matter how stuck up Ben is.

Damn that ass fits well in those tight jeans. The blue t-shirt he wore also did little to hide his body. This guy came to flirt and have fun. Frustratingly, my husky date kept glancing at his phone as we walked. Since we met up at that cafe, a few streets back, he seemed to have been constantly checking his phone. We'd talked a bit before setting this up, and we really seemed to mesh well so... here we are meeting up, heading to a bar I liked. But Ben, really seemed to not wanna be here suddenly.

I looked down at my own outfit, I wore a wife beater under my leather jacket, and my best jeans. Sure I looked a bit like a biker, but most guys seemed to dig that. I'd even used a new woodlands fur and body wash. Being a skunk, scent was something I had to think about constantly and had lost me a few dates last time I tried the dating scene. As we moved through the crowd, I could see the sign bar's sign hanging above their below street entrance.

"That's the place there."

Pointing toward the sign, I glanced over to see Ben's reaction. The look of confusion as he looked up from his phone, filled me with dread. Ben raised an eyebrow, before looking back at his phone.

"Port 42? I thought you said this place was cool."

Oh fuck, that felt like a punch to the gut. This was my bar, my favorite place in the entire city, I even knew the owner. After a lot of talking, and some nights hanging out, I've gotten to know him and I feel so proud of what he's been able to do with the place.

"Just wait to we get inside. The owner has fully themed the place. This is one of my favorite bars in the entire city. Nobody come close to making anything like it."

My date didn't even acknowledge me beyond a hum, still staring at his phone. Well... Fuck. Maybe he'll respect it when he get inside. Guiding him over to the stairs, we descended to the basement level bar. The front door was just the start, it had a porthole which held a dual purpose of being in theme but also making it so patrons and visitors alike didn't run into someone before opening the door into the cramped quarters.

Seeing nobody on the other side, I went to open the door for us. Holding it open for Ben, I was watching him closely for his reactions. The husky put his phone in his pocket, before walking inside. His facial expressions didn't really change as he finally got to see the bar.

Inside it was like the bottom of a ship, portholes along the wall with lit up scenes of the sea. The seats, while being cushioned, all looked like they were made from parts of old ship wrecks, and the tables were modified ship wheels. Following behind my date, I waited to see how he responded.

"So... Where are we gonna sit?"

Sighing internally, I felt upset at his, lazy, bored tone. He didn't seem at all impressed.

"Over here's my favorite table, easy to see the main bar, and far enough away to not have to yell."

Walking over to a table near the back, I took my seat, in my usual chair. Ben took a seat across from me. Looking over toward the bar, I could see the owner, a flamingo named Trevor, coming our way. He was dressed up in a leather vest, with a tricorn hat and bandoleer, which he used to hold his pens and a note pad for orders.

"Hey Sebastian, good to see you! What can I get for you guys?"

Ben seemed to take notice someone knew me by name. Watching the husky, he picked up a menu and started glancing through the drinks. Turning to my friend, I gave him the biggest grin I could.

"Hey Trevor, I'll get a Salty Sea Captain on the rocks."

The husky across from me hummed as he continued looking through the list. Finally he let out a sigh, placing it down on the table.

"I'm thinking something fruity, so, I guess I'll have a Sunset at Sea."

Trevor gave the husky a grin, but I caught him sneaking me a look. Trevor already has thoughts on my date... and with that look, I suspect it isn't good.

"Alright then guys, I'll be right back with those drinks."

The flamingo backed away, moving toward the bar. Turning my attention to Ben, I give him a small grin. The husky seems to be very awkward just sitting there. No phone, and no loud noises for us to not hear each other. He seems to be actively avoiding looking at me. I try not to frown and at least have some nice conversation.

"So, you said online that you like movies. I know we discussed a few but well, what are some of your favorites?"

Suddenly, there was a buzz from Ben's pocket. The husky whipped the phone out faster than most cowboys could pistols in western films. His fingers fly across the screen before sending and then, seemingly, turning it off. I didn't feel the normal relief I otherwise would, as he then placed it face down on the table. Sighing he seemed to glance over toward the other bar patrons before turning to me.

"You know, I can't think of any at the moment... So how about we talk about you, what do you do for work?"

Wasn't exactly wanting to start there but... I guess it couldn't hurt. I nervously chuckle. It wasn't that it wasn't a good job just... It was thankless.

"I work in a local hardware store. Tend to do a lot of hauling lumber around, helping customers. Hard work, but the pays nice and I like my coworkers."

Ben's phone buzzed again. So he didn't turn it off entirely, just the screen. Watching him pick it up, I felt my frustration start to rise. He continued staring at his phone, fingers flying away as message after message was sent. I want to say more, get to know him, this is a date after all. But he seems preoccupied. The husky remains quiet and typing on his phone after that. Every few minutes, even if he put the phone down, there would be a new buzz.

Trevor finally walks up to our table and passes out our drinks. The flamingo grin's at us, and gives me a worried side glance. I have no doubt he has been watching us from the bar. Grinning I wave to Ben's drink.

"Thanks man, put his on my tab, alright?"

The flamingo mock salutes me.

"Right on that. By the way, things are picking up so if you guys need me, I'll be at the bar."

I gave Trevor a thumps up. Across from me I could see Ben start to take a sip of his drink. He didn't seem upset, but it also wasn't a face of excitement or joy. As I start sipping my own drink, I decide to go on a limb, and try again to make conversation about anything else. Sports, any that he enjoyed? Silence was all I got. Okay, on to the next. Hobbies? Nothing. Read anything? Nope.

The very text, chatty, husky that I'd been messaging with, was now suddenly silent or giving short answers before he dove into his phone because of another buzz. He just didn't seem to have any answers he was willing to give me. Overall it was going horribly. Looking down at my glass, I felt an odd sort of realization, it was empty, his was about half full, but I'd drank mine entirely as I fought to try and get to know Ben.

"Seems we polished those off. I'll head over and get us something else, do you want another or do you want to try something new?"

The husky gave a large, frustrated sigh and lowering his phone. He gave it a brief thought before waving his paw.

"Something sweet, that last drink was too bitter. I was really wanting something fruity, but that... That was not it."

Nodding my head, I give him a thumbs up. He rolls his eyes, picking his phone back up. Yup... this is a disaster. Walking up to the bar, I could see Trevor eyeing me. The flamingo was cleaning glasses, while the squirrel down the bar dished out drinks.

"The guy's a real charmer Sebastian."

Snorting, I nearly flopped my elbows onto the bar counter. Running my paw through my head fur, I could feel my tail swinging with agitation behind me.

"That's being real kind Trevor, tonight's been a nightmare. And the worst part is, I think I'm gonna get stiffed out of a one night stand at this point. Was hoping with maybe a few drinks he'd loosen up, and we could have some fun, but if anything he's more of a bitch now. He says he wants something sweet to drink, last one was too bitter."

Sighing, I glance over my shoulder, and give the husky a grin. But, he was staring at his phone, texting, again.

"Trevor, buddy, I'm grasping at straws. Any ideas on how to rescue this, even a tad so I just get laid?"

Turning back from the husky, I could see my friend looking hesitant. Trevor sighed, before giving me a nervous nod. Turning, the flamingo placed the glass and towel behind him on the glasses rack.

"We get sketchy guys in here from time to time, try and get the bartenders or I to drop things in their dates drinks. Normally I throw them out at the end of the night, but I forgot to last night so... Keep this between us, but those might give you an edge."

Trevor walked away, moving down the bar toward the register. In barely a minute he was back with a small tin filled with various confiscated drugs.

"You know my stance on this. It's why I even have this collection... But... Fuck it Sebastian. You're a good friend and that husky bitch over there..."

The flamingo looks uncomfortable at what he is even suggesting, but his fists are balled up in anger. Reaching across the counter, I squeeze Trevor's shoulder. Giving the man a comforting smile.

"Thanks man, I just... If I can just find out why he's such an ass. We hit it off so well online, I just can't figure out what crawled up his ass now."

Trevor chuckles a bit at that ans sighs. Feeling a bit more relaxed he gives me a wink.

"Maybe he just needs some of that skunk dick to set him straight."

Chuckling, I give the flamingo a pat on the shoulder.

"Well, then maybe I should get him a drink so we can retire to my place and I can pound his puppy hole."

The flamingo snorts, blushing but giving me a grin.

"Yo, Tina, can you make a daiquiri? Sebastian's pretty boy want's something sweet."

The squirrel snorts, before pulling out a clean martini glass.

"Coming right up boss, think we should make it a cherry one for him too?"

Trevor rolls his eyes at Tina's quip.

"No, I'm sure the guy's got enough cherry in him already."

Groaning, I try to bury my head in the bar. A few patrons along the bar chuckled at the two's ribbing about my date. If I was anywhere else, I'd probably hate this, but Tina and Trevor? These two get a pass.

As she put the final touches on her creation. I watched in anticipation as she strode over, passing Trevor a martini glass with blue ice with some tinges of red, the flamingo gave it a once over and a grin.

"A Bloody Shark? Nice choice. Here you go Sebastian, maybe this will be sweet enough. The blue is a raspberry flavoring, and red is done with an injection of strawberry. Maybe that will take care of his sweet tooth."

Tina grinned at the complement. Trevor placed the drink on the counter.

"So now that he's taken care of, anything for you?"

A bar patron at the other end called out for Tina, she rolled her eyes before moving down toward her next patron.

"Honestly, get me a coke in a mug. I'm wanting to sober up a bit before we leave."

Trevor nodded and grinned.

"Alright one coke coming up, I'll be right back."

Leaving me alone with my date's drink, and the small tin of confiscated drugs, I realized what Trevor had done. He'd left so I could do it, without him seeing, so if anyone asked, he seen nothing. Taking a deep breath, I shakily picked up one of the white ones.

Dropping it into the drink, I took the straw and stirred around where it sank in, mixing it into the blue ice, attempting to help it dissolve faster. Not being able to see white anymore, I left the straw as it had been, waiting for Trevor to return with my drink. The flamingo didn't take long and shortly he was walking up with a fizzy mug.

"One rum and coke minus everything but the cola."

Taking a deep breath, I gave Trevor a shaking grin, picking up my dates drink and my own.

"Thanks Trevor, for everything."

The flamingo gives me an awkward grin before waving me off.

"You're dates looking impatient, you should probably get back to him."

Nodding, I slowly turn and move back towards my table with our two drinks. Passing Ben his daiquiri, I feel the world screaming at me. This was a dangerous line to cross but the fucker deserved it, right? Taking my coke, and sitting down, I start nursing on it. Waiting to see what would happen next. Who knows maybe he'll get chatty after a good drink. Or maybe not and this will end up with me just having one sided conversations again.

As I watched the daiquiri get lower, and tried topic after topic, attempt after attempt, I realized, Ben was just not going to open up. After he finished the first daiquiri, he'd ordered another, Tina brought another, this time a red one with some green on top to our table.

Honestly, even with him downing drinks, Ben was just as much a dick as when we entered. Avoiding any discussions, and constantly texting or checking his phone. On my side, my buzz was gone, the soda had done it's job as being something for me to nurse on while Ben kept drinking. His texting was getting sloppy and he was swaying a bit, but he didn't seem to want to leave yet.
