Lucario, Jolteon, and the rest of the pokemorphs were now members of the guild, for their first job, it was a lot harder than they imagined about getting in the guild.

The four swords had left them to do as they pleased, having a meeting about the supposed venusaur and confiscating everything he had including the mega stone and the whip he possessed, they were going to interrogate him thoroughly, especially how there was some dried blood found on the whip, which supposedly came from Lucario when they fought.

Eevee was happy to show them the living quarters, they had their own rooms to themselves and could rest as long as they wanted as long as they were done with the guild jobs they were given, served the most succulent meat (most of the time) from the chefs of the guild, Nidoqueen and Kangaskhan.

It was a welcome rest, especially after what Lucario and the rest of the pokemorphs had to go through, being trapped there after fighting Venusaur, and not standing much of a chance thanks to the venusaurite that Venusaur was carrying.

While they were eating though, Lucario and the rest of the new members were interrupted by the more experienced ones as the pokemorphs started making noise with their tankards, some of the juices and waters spilling over the table, a choir of metal hitting against the wood like clapping over something... Or getting the other's attention.

Lucario thought this was some kind of joke, as well as Jolteon and the others who looked around and saw that the members who had stayed here longer were looking up.

They looked up and there were the four swords, looking down at them from the upper floors, and as everyone's attention was now onto them, the noise went down and everyone let go of their tankards to listen.

Lucario didn't know that they were supposed to do that in their presence if they were eating, but he took that in mind as he listened to them.

Cobalion, being the leader and voice of the four swords who held the most authority, cleared his throat and spoke in a refined and authoritative voice.

"As you're all aware, there's been an incident about a certain Venusaur that had taken captive some of our new members a few days ago, and we're interrogating him as our captive as of now. We have decided there needs to be change in order to keep our safety a priority in the guild, which is why you're all going to need a partner, or a team of three or four members if you want. By tomorrow morning, solo work will no longer be a viable option for any of you unless the request states that only one member may take it if necessary, and need to share the cut of the spoils with your partner or team" Cobalion announced.

Lucario wasn't surprised, if word got out of another incident similar to whatever Venusaur did to members of the guild, it would surely damage their reputation.

Terrakion stepped forward as he started to give more information on some other options entirely.

"On another note, we strongly urge you all to go to the local smiths of Swords Rest tomorrow and buy your very own guild issued equipment. Don't worry about losing them, you'll see what I mean when you get them" Terrakion told all the new recruits.

Lucario eyed the large warhammer that Terrakion had on his back, it looked... Different than the standard hammer made of steel. It seemed like it was made entirely of, he was not sure but it definitely looked like it was unusually sturdy for a weapon, since it even had brown geodes on each crevice or crack that seemed to hold it together.

Virizion seemed to have a rapier on him, which suits his personality since this guy always had a refined pose and posture to him at all times. He could only imagine what the sword does seeing living, breathing leaves coming out of its hilt, which in turn clung tightly on his belt.

Keldeo seemed to have a small dagger tucked into on a small sheathe, he wouldn't underestimate a sword of justice but he couldn't imagine a gentle looking pokemorph like Keldeo would hurt a fly, or what his dagger could do but it seemed to glow a bluish color underneath the sheathe so the dagger. Small as it may be, Lucario thought it might not be as underwhelming as it seems if used in a battle.

Cobalion had a double edged sword, which shined like pure white, it seemed much stronger than a normal steel weapon, other than that, it looked pretty much normal. Cobalion, seeing the look in Lucario's eyes and knew what he was thinking, smirked.

The sword glowed a blinding white light, making Lucario shield and rub his eyes from the sudden flash of light that had graced him.

"Ugh... What the hell..." Lucario said as his vision recovered. Maybe he shouldn't eye Cobalion's weapon again, for the sake of his eyes next time.

Lucario and Jolteon looked around and saw that it was the same case for many of the other pokemorphs. Aside from the new members, they were all carrying weapons of their own, each seemed to correspond to their type.

Virizion pulled Cobalion further away, which Cobalion just shrugged.

"You'll scare the new members at this rate" Virizion scolded Cobalion.

"If he has a problem with my weapon, he can take it up to me instead of making assumptions, I know they do when I look at someone's eyes" Cobalion said.

Virizion shook his head at Cobalion before stepping up.

"Sorry about that, I'm just gonna say that you're welcome in the guild as long as you do your part. You're all part of this family now and will need to pull your weight, rely on your brothers and sisters as if they were your own. But the moment you get a criminal record or have committed any kind of atrocities on anybody in the guild or any actions directly or indirectly tainting the guild's image, make no mistake, we're going to kick you out and pretend we ever came to know you" Virizion stated.

Although Virizion had a gentle and calm voice to him, Lucario gulped if that were to ever happen, but it was necessary in case anybody were to step out of line of their duties or responsibilities however cruel they may be.

Keldeo stood up and... Said nothing.

Keldeo seemed to be having trouble speaking, as if he was... shy?

"Um... G-Good night everybody... I hope that we will all get along and... And have a nice long partnership with one another" Keldeo struggled to say before running back to the other leaders.

The other leaders shook their head, a bit disappointed at his lack of confidence and authority.

Lucario looked at them and wondered what was up with Keldeo but paid it no mind after they left and everyone began talking to each other again and eating.

Jolteon had been looking at him the whole time as he finally took his attention off the four swords.

"And here I thought you were undressing those guys with the way you were deeply eyeing them" Jolteon chuckled.

Lucario blushed and scratched his head.

"Do you really have to describe it like that?" Lucario murmured.

Jolteon laughed.

"Hehehe, I'm just messing with ya. I didn't get to thank you earlier, so thanks! You had balls to challenge Cobalion considering he's the most... Well, strictly of the four swords, and he doesn't like it when others look at him too much" Jolteon told him.

"Well what can I say, I was curious alright. After explaining all about weapons, I immediately took a look at theirs and they seem unusually unique compared to the conventional weapons" Lucario explained to him.

"I hope I get one, one that's easy to use but makes me look really cool" Jolteon winked at him.

Lucario blushed before punching his shoulder.

"Be careful what you wish for or you might get a fashion accessory at this point" Joked Lucario.

"A weapon is nothing if it doesn't put you in the spotlight friend" Jolteon retorted.

Lucario looked at Jolteon and smiled.

"Do you have a partner already?" Lucario asked him.

"I was actually going to ask you that, I mean, you're the one who did save me after all" Jolteon admitted.

"Well I didn't save you, I mean, it was Terrakion after all" Lucario said modestly.

"Please, if you weren't there, I think Terrakion wouldn't have found us. Plus that fight was totally cool! Too bad I couldn't concentrate on it since I was physically exhausted to keep watching" Jolteon told him.

Lucario smiled, he never thought of himself as cool but decided to accept the compliment.

"Well... I guess I was, and I wouldn't mind having you as a partner since you seem like a cool guy" Lucario said.

"Alright! Let's shake on it then!" Jolteon said, holding out his hand.

Lucario shook it, and from that point on, Lucario and Jolteon were teammates.

The next morning, Lucario and Jolteon went to the first smith they found in Swords Rest, and it was a shop called "The metal works".

"Metal works huh? Kind of a simple name, wonder who runs this place" Lucario said, looking around the exterior of the shop.

"Hey, where's the smith?" Asked Jolteon, scratching his head and looking around and wondering if the smith took a break this early.

They could hear a snoring sound from behind the door.

"You think he's..." Lucario started.

"Still asleep?" Jolteon finished.

The two opened the door, revealing a pangoro, barely even properly dressed, wearing only the blacksmith apron while he slept, snoring loudly, his belly large enough to be considered like a pillow, two bulky arms resting on the back of the chair.

"Better not disturb him" Jolteon whispered.

Lucario nodded as they tiptoed their way back to the front door when Jolteon accidentally knocked over a pile of ingots resting on the table as it landed on top of the smith's hammer.

The smith sat up and immediately looked around and saw two pokemorphs, barging into his shop.

The pangoro immediately picked up a crossbow laying beside him and pointed it at the two of them.

"You picked the wrong shop to rob fools!" The pangoro yelled as he aimed it at them.

"Whoa heyheyheyheyhey we're not thieves chill chill!" Lucario yelled as they raised their hands on their faces at having the menacing weapon pointed at them.

The pangoro glared at them, not taking his aim away from them as Jolteon and Lucario sweated, anticipating themselves getting shot by a bolt... Until the Pangoro bursted laughing.

"... HAHAHAHAHAHaHAHAHAHAHA! The looks on your cute faces! You should have seen... *Wheezes*... Your reactions!" Pangoro said, wheezing from their reactions.

"..." The two looked at him as if he was mental.

"Aww come on now, I was just messing with you two, here, names Pangoro, I run this shop, the metal works" Pangoro said, extending a hand toward them.

Lucario hesitantly took his hand and shook it.

"My service is not exactly free though as far as your guild says so" Said Pangoro.

Lucario was about to let go and ask what he meant before he was pulled beside him and held him in such a suggestive manner too.

"I like to fight with my fists up close and personal and like to move lightly" Lucario stated.

"Mmhmm... And you?" Pangoro asked Jolteon.

"I want something cool, makes me flashy and stand out, and easy to carry, attack from afar if I can, and move fast if I'm in a pickle" Jolteon said.

"Wow, that feels like asking for too much" Lucario said.

"Hey! It's not that much! I just wanna look cool in a fight" Jolteon shrugged his shoulders.

"Oh I have the perfect things for you two boyos" Pangoro replied and brought out a measuring tape.

"But first I'll need to see your measurements" Pangoro requested and started off with Lucario.

"Wha- H-Hey! Warn me next time!" Lucario yelled out as he started to measure the canine's body.

The other item was something they both never saw before, it looked completely alien to them, they didn't even know what to call it. Jolteon looked at it, not too impressed.

"Is this really it old man? I mean... I don't see this helping me much in battle" Jolteon said.

"Oh hoh! It may seem useless to me and other non electric types, but this pistol is something only electric types like you can use. And the speed is really dependent on how fast your finger is. You see this gem fitted in here?" Pangoro told him, pointing at the gem fitted into the gun.

"Uh huh... And what exactly is that?" Jolteon said as looked closely.

"That gem may be pretty to look at but it's worthless. But in the hands of an electric type user, these things can be deadly the more it gets used to you, take ahold of it if you want proof" Pangoro suggested.

Jolteon took the supposed weapon and aimed it at a dummy, and just as he pulled the trigger, he saw the gem light up and the weapon sent a weak thundershock to the training dummy, causing it to crackle with electricity.

"Just be careful where you aim that thing, that could shock anyone if you accidentally hit anyone" Pangoro warned him.

Jolteon wasn't paying much attention as he had a small glint in his eyes as he looked at the weapon.

"This... Is... The coolest weapon I have ever seen! Fuck yeah! Being a guild member rules!" Jolteon said, shooting at the dummy some more... And realizing no matter how much he tried to use thunderbolt, the gun wouldn't use any other attack other than thundershock.

"Hey, how come this thing won't use any of my other moves" Jolteon said in confusion.

"Heh, that's the trade off with these things... It needs to know you better" Pangoro said.

"Huh? I don't get it" Jolteon scratched his head.

"Think of it as the weapon choosing you rather than you choosing the weapon. It's going to grow stronger the more you use it, and who knows, you might find other utilities for it as it gets stronger" Pangoro explained to the both of them, making Jolteon gleefully shine it with his handkerchief.

"Hell yeah! I'm gonna make this the coolest weapon in the world, just you all wait and see!" Jolteon said as he cradled his new weapon.

Pangoro and Lucario sweatdropped at his enthusiasm.

Lucario looked over at the gauntlet he was presented with earlier and put it on.

"Doesn't seem to be anything special about this thing... Nice design though" Lucario mused as he looked at the gauntlet that had some weird grid-like lines in the middle.

"That glove there isn't just for show. I made that thing with some metal coat with the finest steel there is. Use one of your aura thingies on that dummy over there while wearing the glove, trust me, you'll see what I mean" Pangoro pointed at the dummy.

Lucario looked at the dummy and prepared to use his force palm on it, but the same heaviness and pressure whenever he used force palm wasn't there.

He looked at the glove, and the grid-like design had lit up a bright blue, the same color as his aura moves.

"See that? That thing must be carrying the full weight of your aura move while letting you have full mobility and speed, go on, unleash the speed and strength of your move on that training dummy there" Pangoro ordered him.

Lucario did as Pangoro told him and punched the dummy, causing sand to burst out and nearly breaking the pole that the dummy was on and causing some sand to come out of it.

"Whoa! This thing packs a punch!" Lucario exclaimed, seeing the aura's light dissipate from the gauntlet.

"Haha! See? Told you it's more than it seemed" Pangoro said, patting his shoulder.

Lucario and Jolteon looked at each other, they were more than ready to take on their first request together.

"Thanks for the goodies Pangoro, we appreciate it" Jolteon thanked him.

"We're gonna test these boys out on our first mission" Lucario told him.

"Heh, if you want to test something else with me, I have plenty of time with you two, and call me daddy, I know I want to be called that" Pangoro said, giving a hearty laugh.

"... No, just no. We'll be seeing you around now" Lucario said as they both went back to the guild.

"Ugh... Can't believe it, of all the smiths we picked, the guy is a huge pervert" Jolteon muttered.

"Hey, look on the bright side, we got ourselves some new weapons and we're about to get our first mission in the guild as official members" Lucario encouraged him.

Jolteon smiled, their first mission, he wondered how much poke they'd get if they do succeed.

Eevee was at the desk, now chipper than ever since his brother was rescued.

"Alright Eevee, give us some requests and we'll get right to it!" Lucario asked Eevee with enthusiasm.

"W-Wha... Oh! Sorry! Dozed off there! Let me just..." Eevee exclaimed before bending down and started rummaging through the requests.

"No..." Eevee muttered as he threw away one request.

"No..." Eevee said again, this time Lucario saw that it had a picture and a badge, causing him to remember how the guild tracked each member.

"Hmmm.... This one's taken... Also this one..." Eevee muttered again, throwing seven other requests behind him.

"Should we come back later or-" Lucario said, getting a bit impatient before Eevee smacked one available request in front of them.

"Aha! There we go!" Eevee said as he got back up, his ears flicking as he sat back down.

"This is the last request available since everyone had gotten most of this day's request already so you're stuck with this one" Eevee told them.

Jolteon and Lucario took the request and read the info on it.

I can't disclose too much or word might get out, I have a very important item and I need to be escorted to sword's rest quick! My people's safety is in peril and it rests on item and myself, I don't think I'll be safe for long if someone gets their hands on it, I'm in Gloomy Woods and I need help as soon as possible

"Huh... This sounds cryptic" Jolteon said.

"Yeah, it doesn't really go into much detail, plus people's safety? This seems really urgent, there must have been a good reason he's not revealing his identity" Lucario wondered.

"Maybe he's being chased by someone?" Eevee suggested.

"Whatever the case, we need to go there immediately before it's too late for this guy" Jolteon deduced.

Lucario agreed, with Eevee waving them goodbye.

"Be careful!" Eevee said as he waved them farewell.

Lucario and Jolteon headed to the Gloomy Woods, and sure enough, there they were at the entrance.

"So this is it huh? You know... They at the very least should have given a clue where they exactly were, there doesn't seem to be much landmarks here" Lucario thought.

"Maybe they're easy to spot, who knows" Jolteon shrugged his shoulders and looked around, there doesn't seem to be anybody waiting for them outside the forest.

"Well, let's go, wouldn't want to keep our client waiting" Lucario said, Jolteon followed him to the entrance to look for this mystery client of theirs.

As they entered the forest, someone was watching them, someone flying from above them, observing the duo closely as they entered the forest before it flew back away.

"Hello? Anybody there?" Lucario called out, which was only met by silence.

"Keep looking, we're bound to run into somebody assuming they never left where they were when they sent the request" Said Jolteon.

They searched for minutes, calling out to somebody they didn't know, and at that point, their throats were getting thirsty from yelling so much.

"Could this have been a prank?" Lucario asked Jolteon.

"Possibly, though we can't say for certain if it is... If it becomes dark, we should head back and continue the search tomorrow, if we go by a week of searching and we still can't find anybody, let's cancel this request" Jolteon advised Lucario.

"Yeah... Gotta say this request seems to be a lot more underwhelming than I thought" Lucario said as he and Jolteon sat on a tree stump.

While resting, Jolteon nonchalantly gazed around the forest... Until he saw the light of some campfire.

"Hey... Somebody's camping out here" Jolteon pointed out.

Lucario saw the light as well, as they warily approached the campfire.

It turned out to not be a campfire, but instead a small flame from the tip of a tail.

A charizard was laying on the ground, injured and passed out on the grass soil of the woods, and Lucario and Jolteon immediately came to its aid.

"Hey... Hey are you alright?" Lucario shook him awake.

"Don't shake him too hard, he might get hurt even further" Jolteon warned him.

The pokemorph though, was starting to wake up and slowly sat up.

"What... Who... Who are you?" The pokemorph asked.

"We're from the guild I'm Jolteon and this is Lucario, and we're here to help. Are you our client?" Jolteon asked him.

"Ngh... Y-Yes... Sword's Rest... I must get there fast... The fate of my kingdom is in danger!" Charizard yelled before gasping as he sprained his muscles.

"Are you alright!?" Lucario asked him with great concern.

"Ngh... I am... My body is sore from... From an attack... But I still need to get to sword's rest and give this mega stones to the guild... My name is Charizard" Charizard held out a mega stone.

"You mean... This stone is...!" Lucario said, remembering how Venusaur mega evolved.

"Yes... Mega stone... Charizardite Y, my people had always held me in high regard, and if given in the wrong hands, it might pose a threat to everyone at my home. The king would choose a stone once he is crowned king, either one will be used as proof that they are king now... but lately... My brother has been acting strange and tried to kill me, I barely escaped with my life, but I didn't give my brother a chance to be the monster he is wanting to become, we've been so close... I think... I think it's my fault he turned out this way... My father chose me to become the next successor when my mother always told him he would be prince one day... I didn't want to be king, all I wanted was to be a family with my brother at my side... I should have done more... I..." Charizard didn't continue, as his eyes started welling up.

"So... You're a king...?" Jolteon asked him, Charizard nodded.

Lucario and Jolteon looked at each other, and then kneeled down in front of him.

"Lord Charizard, whatever happened in your family, from how you described it, it wasn't your fault, your brother couldn't take the revelation of something he was preparing for all his life" Lucario tried to advise him.

"But..." Charizard tried to say.

"Look, I'm not good at these kinds of talks but if you're the king you better start acting like it. A king needs to be strong for his people and you can't be strong if you keep moping about yourself, you should rest and get to sword's rest, that's what you should be focusing on" Jolteon said in return before Charizard could doubt himself.

Charizard painfully and tiredly got up.

"Yes... You... You're right... My late king and father would be ashamed if he were to see me now... I should go right now" Charizard started limping toward the exit of the forest.

"Hold on! You're hurt! You shouldn't move right now" Lucario warned him.

"I must go... Time is of the essence... My brother is looking for me so I need to go now, if not, he'll come for me instead. There's no time to stand around, the kingdom has no king, I can't stand by and let my kingdom be kingless for another day" Charizard seethed in pain as he walked.

"Then let me help you walk" Lucario offered.
