Slayer or Layer 36

For Lorvianne

By Draconicon

Lorkos wanted to fold his forepaws under himself while he listened to the story, but even after some draining, his belly was too full compared to what it had been while he was flying back to the village. It was like the majority of the dragon's load was still buried inside of him, and he was half-sure that some of the eggs were already starting to take form. That felt almost impossible, but then again, that was just how life seemed to be since his curse and transformation.

The former kobold gestured out the cave opening as she told her story, and Lorkos listened as best he could when he still felt as shocked as he did.

"We've been transformed," she said. "Obviously."

"Yes, obviously," Lorkos muttered.

"But it wasn't done by anything that we did. It's all come from the cave, and from you."

"Me?!"

"Yes. It started when you two started rutting, not that it was much better before that."

"What - oh...right..."

The whole village being transformed thing when he pushed someone to try and remove the curse from him after he'd been told that it literally wasn't possible. That particular transformation, that had started them on the route to being more than just kobolds. In the case of Sila, the head woman of the village, much more.

He would have rubbed the back of his head with his hand if he'd been in a more bipedal form. As it was, Lorkos could still lay his forepaw against his snout, grumbling under his breath at what had happened. This was just insane. Everything had gone completely out of control, and now? Now he had to deal with the fact that he had helped create more dragons for the scalies without even birthing them.

And that doesn't even count against the curse...

Lorkos sighed to himself.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean for that to happen."

"Well, it's not bothering me any," Sila admitted, turning in place. She had gone from a lowly lizard to something that was surprisingly elegant, as well as rather curvy in all the right places. If Lorkos had still had a dick, he would have been tempted. "I don't think there's anyone else particularly bothered, either. At least, not with the new bodies."

"What else could they be bothered by?" the yellow dragon asked.

"Well, they are all pregnant."

Lorkos blinked once, twice, then slapped his forehead.

"Really? You can't blame me for that one."

"I think we can."

"I don't even have a dick!"

"Yeah, but all the males down there, the ones that went feral when you started rutting each other? They did."

"...You have got to be..." He glanced at the yellow dragon. "Does that happen? Does us having sex make everything else scaly in the area get it on?"

"To some degree, yes, though this is the first time that it has gone this out of control," the other dragon admitted. "Though we both know why."

Yes. The curse. It had gone so far past what it was supposed to do, and now it was causing random effects just by him being in the area. If that was the case, then he might as well be a walking time bomb for anything that wasn't already scaly. He sighed, flopping down as much as his distended belly would allow, rolling his forepaws over his face again.

I have to find Ashin. Soon.

Sila walked further into the cavern, sitting down by him. She rubbed his head, and he reluctantly tilted his head to allow for further pets.

"You okay?" she asked.

"No."

"Gonna be?"

"Maybe. When I can get out of here."

"Oh, um...you might not want to do that just yet."

"And why's that?"

"Well...you're pregnant too, right?"

"...Probably."

"Well, flying's a bad idea while pregnant, as you well know."

Considering the fact that he had ridden in a wagon for some time with Sila and the other traders, he knew for a fact that it was a bad idea to fly while pregnant. All the extra weight threw off his instincts about where his body was supposed to be and how it was supposed to move, not to mention that it was dangerous to him. An egg breaking on the inside could cut him apart in short order, and that would be a quick end to his life, wouldn't it?

He sighed.

"Not to mention that we have some visitors, and they wouldn't like one of the Great Ones leaving too soon."

"Visitors?" the yellow dragon asked. "I didn't know that anyone new had come."

"They're not here yet, but they're camped out further down the road," Sila explained. "I was coming to tell you before..."

"Yes, yes," the yellow dragon said, waving it away with a flick of his tail. "Yes, that would be a good idea."

"What, you're keeping me here?" Lorkos grunted.

"For your own safety, and for good manners."

"Pah."

"You know that it's for the best. You were already resigned to it with the pregnancy. This is just one more good reason to go along with it."

"Just for the record, I hate you both."

"So noted," the yellow dragon said.

"I'll make a note of it. Shall I tell them that there will be a chance for an audience tomorrow?" Sila asked.

"Do so."

"Good. There's quite a few of them, and they're all looking forward to speaking to the dragons."

"...Why?" Lorkos asked. "Is that common?"

"Not really, but these ones are insistent. Lots of lizardfolk with a bit of dragon in them."

He jerked up a bit, his eyes going wide at a sudden mental image. No way. There was no way that this was them.

"Come again?" he managed to say, vaguely neutrally.

"A bunch of different colored lizardfolk, but all of them with at least a little dragon in them. They're led by a red-scaled girl, and she's talking about visiting every dragon until she finds a specific one."

...No. No way. There's no way that this is her.

He remembered the village, remembered the rapes and the breedings that he had gone through, how many times he had been tied down and left stupidly horny, his mind stripped from him and leaving only a body for the scalies to play with. Nobody could have accepted that sort of thing. Even the females of the tribe would have been loath to accept something like that. It was humiliating, and that was an understatement. It was downright cruel.

But more than that, he remembered his many children, including one daughter that had been all too pushy about him remembering her, of him taking responsibility for birthing all of them.

It's not her. It's not HER. It could be any person born of a dragon...

And yet, he was still panicking, still horrified and conflicted about the fact that she might have found him. He couldn't bring himself to move, couldn't find the words to respond, leaving Sila to stare at him until the other dragon dismissed her.

As soon as the new dragon disappeared, he got to his feet, pacing back and forth.

"This isn't happening. This isn't happening."

"Calm down."

"Oh, ho ho, no. This isn't something that you calm down about."

"One would think that a ghost from the past had come home."

"Almost has."

"What's the matter? Have you been birthing so many already?"

"...Something like that."

"I'm surprised that the curse didn't count them."

"They weren't full dragon. Fuuuuuck, I didn't think this was going to happen..."

He had hoped that this would be something that he could more or less leave in the past. He had been grateful at the end to have learned that his children were smart, that they were strong, that they would be safe, but there was a part of him that wanted to forget, too. There was so much shame wrapped up in their birth, in the fact that he had had them at all, that he honestly didn't know what to do.

The fact that they were only a day away, waiting for tomorrow to come see him, only made it worse. He knew that flying would be a stupid idea, but the temptation to just fly off and pretend that he had never been there had never been stronger.

He was about to go outside and take his chances when the yellow dragon sat up again, looking him right in the eye. Lorkos stopped.

"What?"

"The curse."

"What about it?"

"It's stopped."

The blue dragoness blinked, but as he stopped focusing on his anxieties, he realized that there really was a change. The pressure of magic around him had started going down, no longer pulsing out all the time, and he was no longer giving off that same odd aura that he had been doing since he left Ashin's old mountain.

What in the...

He tried to focus on the feeling, pushing down to where it was strongest, and he realized that it was strongest in his womb. The last round of sex seemed to have pulled the curse inwards, making it settle in the eggs, and he wondered if that was because he was no longer breeding lizards. The dragon seed might have been enough to make sure that the curse was sated for a little while.

That said, it was hardly a consolation. It meant that the only way to keep the curse satisfied was to keep breeding with male dragons, and more than that, getting pregnant from them. That was hardly a workable solution in the long-term.

That said, at least waiting here wasn't going to make the world worse.

Sighing, the dragoness laid himself down on the floor once more, curling his paws around him as best he could as he tried to get comfortable. The swollen gut wasn't making that easy, and he knew that soon he would be forced to lie on his side if he was going to get any sleep in the slightest.

That's going to be all kinds of fun...

"Do you need a place to stay?"

The question came from the yellow dragon, of all things. He turned to look the stud in the eye, arching an eyeride, and the yellow dragon shrugged.

"I was figuring you might want a place inside to stay, rather than up on the ridges. If you'd prefer to stay in the rain -"

"I'll take it if you're offering."

"And I would be happy to let you stay treasure-free...though, perhaps, you might allow me to sate my urges while you're here?"

Lorkos narrowed his eyes, and the yellow dragon chuckled.

"I didn't think I'd get that, but I had to ask."

"Fuck you."

"You already did that." The other dragon groaned. "And to great effect."

Still, at least that gave him a better place to stay than out of the mountainside again. He'd made that work last time, but he doubted that it would be anywhere near as workable with a swollen stomach. Flying from place to place wouldn't have worked out so well for him this time around, and he doubted that he would be able to find one specific place on the mountainside that would work so well this time around.

At least in the cave, he'd feel safe. At least in the cave, there was shelter and cover, even if that came with a horny roommate.

And tomorrow, you meet the kids.

Maybe? Maybe? He could at least pretend that it wasn't his kids that were going to be showing up, at least for a little while. There was still a chance to cling to denial for that little bit longer.

Lorkos sighed, resting his head on his forepaws, and he soon started drifting off to sleep. He had a feeling he'd need all the rest he could get.

The End
