Loona's Love Life.

Chapter 11: To Protect and Serve.

June, 7, 2021.

Police Report File, 95.465.434.

Detective Browning gave the tape recorder he had a swift tap as he continued his investigation of the crime scene.

"Victim appears to be female, early 20's, white with a medium build, and around 5 feet tall." He then looked around the immediate area and sighed.

"Victim was found face down, in the stairwell of the Havasu Resort, estimated time of death is three days ago." Looking around he saw the victim's wallet and key's down a few steps.

"Motive has yet to be determined but robbery is highly unlikely seeing as the victims' keys and wallet are still at the crime scene." He looked around and grimaced as he made a final notation.

"Victim appears to have died to massive blunt force trauma to the head." Looking at the blood splattered all throughout the stairwell as well as the fact that the victim's head was missing, he thought is was a safe bet that her death was brutal and not at all pleasant. Detective Browning then stowed his recorder in the pocket of his jacket and went to a nearby floor to take the elevator down, so as not to contaminate more of the crime scene. Once he stepped foot out of the elevator however he was bombarded with another call.

"Yes, Browning speaking?" His eyes went wide as he looked around the hotel and sighed.

"Ok, I'll be back up there in a second." He closed his phone and let out deep breath.

"Great, we have a serial killer on our hands." He got back into the elevator and hit the button for the rooftop.

Later on That Day... In Texas.

"Yes, Mm Hm, Ok. We'll take the job, Just give a day to get ready and we'll be there." Cletus hung up the phone and let out a content sigh as he sat down at the kitchen table and jotted down the information their newest client had given him. In the room next door Keenie was getting railed by a prostitute and her moans of pleasure could be heard through the paper thin walls. Colins had taken a pair of headphones and stuck them over his ears as he continued to listen in on police and civilian frequencies for any sign of I.M.P He heard some interesting chatter about a double murder at an Arizona Hotel resort, but the M.O. didn't really fit I.M.P.'s style. Cletus however was ecstatic.

"Hey Keenie, finish up in there and get in here." After one final orgasmic moan from Keenie a faint pop was heard and she made her way into the room, her face and wings covered in blood.

"So did you get a job?" She asked as she took a nearby rag and wiped herself down of various bodily fluids. Cletus held up his notes.

"Yup some guy needs protection," Cletus smiled as he read off his clients details. "Apparently he was being stalked by some kind of demonic creature that nearly killed him." Keenie smiled as she took the soaking wet towel and threw it in a nearby hamper.

"So does that mean what I think it means?" She asked grabbing the files and going over her client's data. Cletus just smiled as he nodded.

"Oh yes, a very high chance that those fuckers over at I.M.P. will be involved." He went and checked his crossbow, passing Keenie hers as well.

"Now all's we have to is wait." He grabbed a bag of bolts and bombs from under the bed they all slept in and opened a portal to their clients location. A small walled off compound met their gaze. Cletus tossed the bag full of explosives to Colins who dropped his crossbow to catch the bag.

"Mr Rodger's has been expecting you." The voice came from behind the three angels, causing them to all whirl around and see a mountain of a man. He simply held up a hand, motioning for them to follow him. They did so, wearily however as to not fall prey to an ambush, they could never be too careful, especially around humans. The Mountain lead them through a heavily fortified gate and down a windy hedge lined path to a small building with a guard outpost stationed next to it. He waved the cherubs through and they continued. After that, they then made their way up a set of stairs to the main entrance to an even bigger Vila.

"Ah Welcome, I am Mr. Rodger's." A gaunt faced yet satisfied looking man in a suit came down a set of stairs and glanced at the cherubs with glee.

"And you must be my new bodyguards." He eyed his three protector's up and down, a grin adorning his face as he swept across them like a butcher examining a cut of meat. He clapped his spindly hands together and walked back up the stairs.

"Follow me to your rooms." The three all looked around nervously but did as they were told.

Meanwhile in Hell.

"Hey Blitz, Stolas is on line 1." Loona said, holding the phone out to him. Blitz sighed but let a smirk cross his features as he took the phone.

"Hey Stolas, what can I do for you today?"

"My dear Blitzy, I'm afraid we're going to have to talk about some delicate matters pertaining to your little favor you requested a few days ago." Blitz's smirk vanished, replaced with a visage of stone.

"He escaped didn't he?" Stolas gave a nod.

"Yes I'm afraid he did," Blitz sighed as he pinched the bridge of his brow.

"Ok, so when do we go and kill him?" He asked catching everyone's attention.

"I'm afraid it won't be that easy, you see he's managed to hire a rather troublesome cardie of guards. Three of them in fact." Blitz's anger flared up.

"Those fuckin Cherubs!" Stolas simply hummed as he took a potato and popped into his mouth.

"Yes, now I'd be more than willing to give you the details in person and even offer some assistance, when would you be free to meet up?"

"Tonight, the sooner the better." Stolas smiled as he held up a file on their target.

"Oh wonderful, oh and do be a dear and bring that human, what was his name?" Stolas was lost in thought for a second.

" Alex!" He finality remembered.

"Do be a dear and bring him with you please." Blitz looked over to said human who was busy typing away at his keyboard. He smirked as he thought of just what Stolas had planned for them.

"Ok will do." He hung up the phone and went over to Alex tapping his desk. Alex looked down and saved his work before he took off his headphones and gave Blitz his undivided attention.

"What's up boss?" He asked. Blitz smiled as he motioned for him to follow. Alex got up from his desk and followed his boss to his office.

"I'm not in trouble or anything am I?" Alex asked causing Blitz to laugh.

"Ha! No kid, you're fine." He then sat down and passed Alex a beer that he declined.

"So I assume you know who our benefactor is correct?" Alex gave a nod.

"Prince Stolas of the Ars Goetia." Blitz nodded.

"Bingo." He then rummaged through his desk until he pulled out a profile, and handed it to Alex.

"He's requested our presence tonight and I need you looking and acting presentable. So read all of that and we can get on our way." He then left Alex to it and went out to see how the other members of I.M.P were doing. Millie was sharpening her vast collection of knives, Moxxie was working on a new advertisement slogan, and Loona was texting someone.

"Hey gang, so Stolas called and he may have a client for us." The three other members all gave a small cheer.

"So Alex and I are going to head over there once he's done with that file I gave him and we'll see if we can hash out the details." Loona's ears perked up

"Are you sure it's safe to take Alex along?" She asked concerned for not only the human but also her father's reputation. Blitz nodded.

"He requested that I bring him along." He then let out a sigh. "As long as he doesn't do anything stupid we may just make it out alive tonight." Loona frowned as she set her phone down.

"Are you sure we can't tag along?" She put up a fake smirk, her father however shook his head.

"Sorry dear, but he was very specific about it being only me and Alex." Blitz walked over to his daughter and gave her a hug.

"Don't worry, we'll be back before you know it and with the file I gave Alex, he should have a half decent chance of not fucking this up." He flashed his daughter a smile.

"Don't worry, I won't let him peg your boy toy." He winked as Loona just growled, shoving her muzzle back into her phone. Alex came out of Blitz's office a little while later.

"Ok, done." He set the file down on his desk as Blitz waved him off.

"Alright, let's get this show on the road." He grabbed his keys and headed out the door. Alex made to follow, "Hey!" He looked back to see Loona giving him a pensive look.

"Just don't do anything stupid, ok?" She asked flashing him a smirk. He just smiled giving her a thumbs up.

"Don't worry, I left all of the stupid back on earth." He stood there and huffed.

"We'll be back before you know it." He then gave her a two finger salute and left the building. Loona frowned as she thought about what she was going to do next and looked around the office, seeing no one else she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

"Hey, uh, God, I suppose if it's not too much trouble could you keep Alex safe, he seems to think you have the power to do anything, and uh it would really mean a lot to me." She finished her prayer feeling like hell's biggest idiot, however, a second later a small fire bloomed in her chest and then dissipated. She didn't realize it but she could barely breathe. She toppled from her chair and fell to the floor as her breath came back in ragged gasps.

"I-h-hope that's a yes." She wheezed as she hauled herself onto her knees and leaned her head on her desk.

An hour later Alex found himself standing in front of a lavish castle, ringed with wall's and a single gate leading in and out that Blitz stopped at, pushing a little button on a small intercom device.

"Who is it!?" A loud voice asked as Blitz just smiled.

"It's Blitz, Stolas is expecting us." The voice grumbled as the sound of pages flipping could be heard.

"All right, don't cause any trouble." The gate soon opened and Blitz drove up the paved drive and parked the van at the steps of the grand palace. Alex had to admit, it was a beautiful castle, easily dwarfing anything back on earth. A squat butler came down the front steps and bowed.

"Good evening Sr's, The master is in his study, please follow me." The two guests did as they were told, following the imp throughout the labyrinthine halls of the castle until they were thoroughly lost. Finally, the butler stopped at a rather plain looking maroon colored door. He then knocked twice and was greeted by the voice of the master of this magnificent household.

"Enter." The imp opened the door and ushered the two guests inside. He then shut the door remaining outside the room. Stolas looked up from his afternoon book and greeted his two companions with a warm smile.

"Ah, Blitz, good to see you again." He then fixed Alex with a curious stare.

"And Alex, good to finally meet you," He got to his feet and strolled over to the two extending a hand. Alex took it while Blitz just let it drift on by. Stolas gave out a sigh as he sat back down and invited Blitz and Alex to do the same.

"So what's the issue?" Blitz asked as he sat down while Alex remained standing and silent, just like the file had said. Stolas simply grabbed a file he had hidden in his book and passed it over to Blitz.

"You put a hit out on that human last week," Blitz looked through the file and saw that the little shit that had tried assaulting his daughter was hold up in a veritable fortress.

"Let me guess, he got away?" Blitz asked as Stolas gave a nod.

"Yes, unfortunately and I wish that was the only bad news." Blitz rolled his eyes.

"And how could it possibly get any worse?" He asked as Stolas gave him another file. He skimmed through it but stopped cold when he came across a picture of three very familiar figures.

"Of fucking course." He handed the file over to Alex who looked it over thoroughly, seeing that it had data on not only the defenses set up around the compound but also the routes and times of the guards on duty. He went to hand it back but Stolas raised a hand.

"Keep it, you'll need it far more than I will." He then grabbed a glass of wine and took a sip.

"So as you can guess my superiors are not too thrilled to have three rogue angel's from heaven wondering out and about, and they're even more furious at the fact that they're apparently aiding humans." Blitz just sat there looking stoic.

"So what's the job?" He asked causing Stolas to give out a seductive purr.

"Oh right to the point, so sexy." Blitz rolled his eyes as Alex tucked the file he was given into his coat pocket.

"The job is as follows." Stolas used his magic to open a small window to earth showing the two members of I.M.P. the compound.

"Your job is to infiltrate the compound, take out Mr. Rogers and if at all possible kill those three rogue cherubs." Blitz and Alex both nodded in confirmation, but Stolas held up a hand.

"Make no mistake, those cherubs are your primary targets, if you get a chance to kill them, you take it." He ordered. Alex was hesitant, but he nodded nonetheless. Blitz smiled as he got up.

"Can do Sr." He was stopped as Stolas held up a hand once more.

"Blitz not so fast, you and your team must plan, prepare ahead of time for this assignment." Blitz took his advice to heart, he gave Stolas a handshake, and Stolas called his butler to lead the two back through the castle. Once Blitz and Alex got in the car Alex let out his breath.

"Well that was nerve wracking." Blitz just smiled and let out a laugh.

"Honestly I can't believe you didn't say a single word while we were there." Alex gave him a puzzled look.

"Well that's what the file said to do. Be seen but not heard, unless spoken to first." Blitz burst out laughing.

"And you fucking bought that load of shit!?" He laughed even harder, threatening to vear the van off the road. Luckily he got control of the vehicle and his laughter.

"Wow, I can't believe you fell for that." Alex just sat there a smirk adorning his face.

"Shoulda known it was bullshit." he muttered as Blitz continued to snicker.

"Hey at least he didn't try to dittle your holes." Alex just laughed.

"Yeah well I'm sure if he did Loona would be there in a heartbeat to beat his ass." Blitz smiled and nodded.

"Yeah she would've." He snorted as his mind wondered. Blitz flashed him a smirk.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Alex just let out a sigh.

"No, just my brain being stupid."

"I thought you weren't supposed to do anything stupid, per Loona's instructions." Alex just grinned.

"Yeah well everyone has their weakness." he scowled. "Mine just happens to be a woman thats vastly out of my league." The two drove back to work in silence, Alex lost in his own turmoil, as two sides began to war within him.
