Chapter 9: Spring Storm Rising.

Loona watched the early mourning sun crest over the horizon as Blitz drove the van down the nearly deserted freeway. Next to her, Alex yawned as he tried to keep himself awake. And next to him trying her hardest to not seem awkward was Sophia who glanced around at Alex's colleges who thankfully all had on a human disguise. Loona had on her usual outfit of shorts, crop top, and gloves, with her feet being adorned in sandles this time around. Moxxie and Millie however had on some real tourist outfits, with both of them sporting big sun hats, Hawaiian t shirts, and big glasses, with Moxxie sporting an Italian complexion and Millie looking more like an African southern belle. Blitz meanwhile was dressed in the tackiest green shirt he could find, atrocious yellow shades adorned his face, and to top it off he had on a pair of booty shorts that were bright pink, his human look of being a discount Steve Buscemi, didn't help.
"So Sophia, how's work?" Blitz asked as he glanced back at his daughter, who had her tail wrapped around Alex as he continued to struggle to stay awake. Sophia just giggled as she gave her head a nervous rub.
"Well you know, same old, same old, uh just hanging in there." She replied, causing Blitz to chuckle.
"Yeah, trying to stay afloat and keep everything moving smoothly." Sophia gave a nervous nod, Loona meanwhile saw her dad trying to be nice and sighed as she felt Alex snuggle up with her tail, a blush made its way across her face as she reached over and shook him awake.
"Hey, wake up," She said as he groggily looked around. Seeing Loona shake Alex made Sophia cringe. Loona paid her no mind as Alex got his wits about him. Seeing that he was snuggling her tail he quickly let Loona have her fifth appendage back.
"Sorry about that," He snickered nervously as he looked around and saw Sophia giving him the twitching eye.
"So Sophia, What exactly do you do?" Moxxie asked as he and Millie both gave her wide eyes. Sophia gave off a nervous giggle.
"I'm a network security analyst." She said as she glanced around. Moxxie was impressed.
"Really now that's a hard field to get into." He scrunched his face up in thought.
"In fact, I don't think anyone we know could work in that field, hmm," He thought more about it and Millie picked up the conversation.
"So what's it like, you know being a computer wiz and all?" She asked straining her seat belt as she turned around to look Sophia in the eyes. Sophia scooched back a little bit bumping into Alex as she did so. He gave her a thumbs up. She then let out another nervous chuckle as she regained her senses.
"Um well, it's mostly boring busywork." Loona just smirked as she leaned over Alex and passed Sophia a cigarette.
"Here, smoke this so you can relax." She shoved the stick into Sophia's mouth and lit it. Sophia didn't have time to react and took a deep breath, coughing as she spat the offending stick out, Loona catching it before it could hit the floor.
"The hell was that for!?" Sophia yelled as Loona just smiled.
"Your stress sweat is making the van reek." Sophia's face fell and smelled her armpit's sure enough they were on fire. She let out a nervous chuckle as she slowly began to fan her arms out, while Alex began to fan the smoke from Loona's stick out of his face, Loona opened up the back window and tilted her muzzle next to it so as to not get Alex's asthma going again.
"He has asthma you know!" Sophia spoke as Loona blew a cloud of smoke into her face.
"I know." She replied smirking as she held her cigarette out the window. Alex began to sweat so he turned on the back fan, not only to cool off but also to help circulate the air. Sophia scowled as Loona brought the cigarette back to her lips before she could however the van lurched into the air.
"Sorry about that, musta hit a pothole." Blitz checked his mirrors and saw a smooth road behind them.
"Yeah, pothole," Sophia said as she quickly wiped her nose with a sleeve, Loona narrowed her eye's as her nose picked up the coppery scent of blood. Her cigarette lay discarded on the floor of the van, thanks to the fireproofing she wasn't too worried about a fire breaking out any time soon.
"So," She asked as Alex bent down to pick up the butt, She felt his hand brush against her leg but she kept her cool.
"You got any hobbies?" Loona asked as Alex reappeared with the burnt out butt and passed it up to Moxxie who quickly put it in a baggy he had on hand. Sophia made a show of thinking about what she'd been dabbling in over the weekend but eventually, she just shrugged.
"Eh, got into reading some new books over the weekend, but that's about it," Loona smirked as she sniffed out her partial lie.
"What kinda books?" She pressed, causing Sophia to sweat again. She glanced over to Alex who looked interested s well.
"A little bit of this and a little bit of that." She answered once again evading the question. Loona frowned and was about to push the issue again but she stopped when the van also did so.
"And we're here gang!" Blitz shouted as he hastily unbuckled and hopped out of the van.
"Last one out is a rotten piece of shit!" He yelled sprinting off down the sidewalk towards a building off in the distance.
Alex let out a laugh as he waited for Moxxie and Millie to exit. When they did so Moxxie immediately went to the back and opened the truck grabbing his and Millie's luggage and setting it down. Sophia got out next and then came Alex, who held a hand out to Loona who rolled her eyes but accepted the offer of help. Once that was done Alex went around to the back and helped Moxxie carry the luggage to the big office looking building Blitz had sprinted off to earlier. Once inside Alex and Moxxie set the luggage down and went over to Blitz to help him with the paperwork.
"So Loona," Sophia got the hell hounds attention, ripping her gaze away from the illuminated shoreline Loona gave Sophia a look of pure boredom.
"Wasup?" She asked causing Sophia to give out a nervous chuckle.
"I uh, I think we got off on the wrong foot when we first met." She held out a hand that Loona looked at and then sauntered over and grasped.
"So your not a controlling, conniving, insecure, whore then? Good to know I was wrong about that." She then walked over to Alex and whispered something into his ear. He gave her a thumbs up and she then sauntered out of the building grabbing a bag as she went. Sophia stood there her hand still outstretched meanwhile Millie was feeling conflicted, she wasn't there for the first meeting between Loona and Sophia, and considering they were supposed to be keeping a low profile she tentatively made her way over to Sophia and gave her a shake.
"Uh, hey don't worry-" She let out a small yelp as her hand was slapped away, meanwhile Sophia once more looked livid. She got her wits about her, pulled her hand back, and stormed out of the building. Moxxie came over to check and see if Millie was ok.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine, it's just-" She cut herself off as she played the scene back in her mind's eye.
"We gotta tell Blitz about this."
"Tell me about what?" He asked as he hauled a basket over full of prepared bathing gear, Alex soon joined him with a smaller one. He looked around and frowned.
"Oh, where'd Sophia get to?" Millie pointed outside to the beach. Alex grabbed a few more bags, thanked Millie, and headed out, Millie meanwhile gave Moxxie and Blitz worried looks. Blitz's smiled vanished.
"Oh fuck me sideways what now?" He asked as Millie held up her hand, where the others saw that it had a small zigzag pattern running through it.
"Millie!" Moxxie exclaimed as he pulled a first aid kit from his fanny pack. He instantly began to gauze up Millie's locked up hand, which caused her to wince as she became light headed. She held onto her balance and thankfully the dizziness passed her by.
"I'm fine but we need to keep an eye out for Sophia." She held up her hand which now looked more like a white football with the amount of gauze Moxxie had applied to it.
"She did this without even touching me." This caught both men by surprise.
"Ah crumbs," Moxxie's face went pink as the blood drained from it, while Blitz stood there and sighed.
"Well isn't that fan fucking tastic." He put a hand to his forehead and huffed in annoyance. Then hit eyes burst open.
"Wait where's my Loona!?" He screamed as he bolted out of the door and ran down to the beach. Meanwhile, Loona was done setting up the big ass sun umbrella and setting out chairs for everyone underneath it. She took a step back and smiled at her work, she then took out her phone and took a picture of it. Soon after Alex came by and gave a low whistle.
"Nice work Loona." He said as she just walked over to help him carry some of the bags. She smirked as they sat the bags down.
"I'm not even done yet." He looked at the umbrella and looked puzzled.
"How so?" Loona motioned to herself
"Because I still need to get dressed." She smiled as his face went red. Just thinking about her in that outfit made Alex's blood flow faster. He stammered for a little while but eventually got his stuttering under control.
"Ah well yes, I guess that is a part of the whole beach going experience." He gave a nervous smile as Loona got to her feet and went to the changing rooms. He let out a deep breath as he rained his thoughts in.
"Get a hold of yourself, Alex." He took another deep breath.
"You've seen plenty of women in swimsuits before." He took another breath.
"This time is no different." He calmed his heart down and just as he did so, he was tackled from behind.
"OK piss ant where's my daughter!?" Blitz shouted as Alex tapped on the arm around his neck.
"She's in the changing rooms!" He wheezed out as Blitz looked around. He then dropped Alex from his chokehold as he saw her emerge from said changing rooms.
"Oh, good. Hey, no hard feelings right?" He asked as Alex got his breath back, he lost it all over again however as he brought his head up and got a good look at Loona's swimwear, or what little of it there was. There she stood in nothing but a smooth black skirt that reached her lower thighs and a black solid crop tube top.
"So I take it I look good then?" She sauntered over to Alex and Blitz. Alex was speechless, the Black really accented her white fur and the tightens of her tube top left nothing to the imagination. Alex felt the blood rushing all around his body but he felt it heading south real quick.
"Bathroom!" he yelled as he sprinted for the nearest restroom. Loona was shocked, but that soon made way for laughter as she sat down on a nearby chair. Her father gave off a smirk as he went and changed into his swim shorts. When he came back Alex still hadn't returned. He sat next to his daughter and gave her a nudge.
"Nice work, he'll be spanking his monkey for the next hour or so." Loona spat out her juice and glared at her dad.
"Don't make fun of me." She grumbled as he just laughed.
"No I mean it, did you see the tent he was pitching as he ran off?" He slapped a knee.
"Trust me he had that look in his eye." Loona rolled her eyes but indulged her father anyway.
"What look?" He waggled his eyebrows.
"The 'I want to fuck you!' look." He said as Loona's face heated up. Her eyes dilated as her brain began to imagine what sex would be like with a human. She shook her head and growled at her dad.
"Oh please." She grumbled, lighting a cigarette to help calm her nerves.
Blitz just smirked as he saw the rest of the gang including Sophia walking down the beach. He gave them a wave and then looked over to see that Alex was making his way, albeit slowly back over to them. Loona cast a longing gaze Alex's way, but rolled her eyes and buried her muzzle back in her phone when Blitz noticed her. He just chuckled to himself as he kept an eye on Sophia, who had sped up her pace when she saw that Alex was also making his way over to them. Moxxie and Millie got there before any of the others and set up a large picnic basket full of food from hell and earth.
"Hey hurry it up roadkill, this pussy isn't going to eat itself!" Blitz shouted at Alex and Sophia, they both stopped as if to affirm if he said what he did, judging from the dirty looks Blitz was getting from the other tenets of the beach, he did indeed say what he just said. The group heard Alex laugh from where he was and that brought a small smile to Loona's face. Blitz saw it however and made a kissing noise. Loona just huffed and took another drag from her cigarette. Sophia reached the group first, having changed into her bathing suit and looking perky and refreshed.
"Hey uh, sorry about earlier Millie." She gave a giggle which dissipated as she saw Millie's bandaged hand. In an effort to keep her calm, Millie waved it off.
"Shoot sugar it ain't an issue, I've gotten worse than this working on my parent's farm." She said as Alex finally arrived. He looked around the group and smiled, his gaze lingering on Loona for a split second more than he felt was appropriate.
"So," He asked. "What's for brunch?" He asked as Moxxie passed the basket around.
