#5 of Ice Soldier

A faint smell, a gentle brush, a soothing touch, and a warm kiss, all while in a well of the darkest black, hurtling around in nothingness, and yet not moving at all, feeling things that are there, and those that are not. Rick's mind was in a warm wrap, or was that his body? He had no clue currently and was wrapped warmly around in his own head by the hot and burning itch of a fever, with a burning and nightmare making plague that tormented his sleep, and troubled his mind, the event of he love getting dragged onto the ship, away from him, and him falling into the mud, sobbing as they took her.

Then, as if a shaft of golden light from the heavens above, his eyes parted softly, showing him the golden hew of the light filament above him. He stirred slowly, feeling restrained, but not by chains or bonds of the sort, but by soft cloth bandages, holding him tight as he laid there in the bed, their semi scratchy hold on him oddly comforting, yet at the same time unwanted, and causing feelings of self stupidity. He lay on the bed, his head still swirling around him, and his scales glistening in the heat caused to him by his fever.

His head was a swell with whiles of sicknesses, and heaves of pain, as he shifted about, he laid there looking up in the ceiling, trying to focus on one spot to help with the torment. But in all of his focus, he just couldn't over come it, he sighed upwardly and muttering a couple curses. This caused Caslana to startle awake, and looked dead at him, yelp and then take off running out the door, shouting out, "Adarina! He is awake! He is awake!"

There was the sound of rapid running, and then Adarina came skidding to the door way, and looked at him before running over to him and hugging him hard, causing him to yelp and groan. She blushed and let him go, muttering a couple excuses that she really didn't mean, because it had been worth it as much as to her as it had been to him. Rick smiled softly, before wincing his right eye in pain from a headache. He groaned softly and laid down, scooting away from the open side of the bunk, and letting her sit on the bed with him, she smiled and rub the back of his head softly as he laid there, not feeling well, and not looking it, but giving her a smile that solved her worries in a flash.

She sighed softly and rubbed the back of his head, smiling to him, and then rubbing his chest softly, "Thought we were going to lose you."

Rick smiled, and gave out a forced breathe sentence, "You can't lose me that easily."

Adarina gave a smile and a tear formed in her eye, then she kissed him, "You made me worry dear."

Rick coughed and put his paw on her thigh, smiling to her and wheezing a bit from his fever, "I have told you how many times not to worry about me?"

Adarina picks up the paw on her thigh and rubs it against the side of her muzzle, letting him feel the wetness of the tear on his paw, "You keep telling me that, but it isn't going to make me stop."

Rick laughs, and then coughs after it, making him regret it when it hurts, "You always were stubborn."

Adarina just burst out crying and buried her face into his chest, crying and holding him softly, Rick gasped, then groaned from pain, he smiled and then put his paw on her back, holding her close to him as he smiled, not wanting the moment to end, but wishing he could truly embrace her like he wanted to, make her stop worrying about him, and keeping her happy like he loved her being, the thought of her happiness keeping him happy.

After a while, the sobs stopped, and Rick had though she was just enjoying being close to him, but she had fallen asleep on him, he purred softly to himself, and then just laid back on the pillow to sleep, he passed into a light torment of sleep, but was not far or uncomfortable this time, because his main worry of lose was right in his arms, her heart beating against his, his scales against her fur, and his arms around her as he slept, recovering from whatever it was that was sickening him. He passed once again into darkness, but much less harsh this time, and much more comforting to him, he smiled in his sleep and lolled his head off to the side.
