Just a teaser for something quick. A bit of a palette cleanser in between commissions and work. I might make this into a small series, will decide later. For now though, the full story and some other exclusives are up on my patreon. Come check it out!https://www.patreon.com/GryphWriting

Paul wandered into the delivery door, "Hey, Dad?" The brown and white lop carrying himself with his usual slouched posture.

"What?" came the reply from the open office door. His father poked his head out of the office door. They graying rabbit pushing his glasses back up his nose with a curious twitch.

Paul hooked a thumb at the door, "Picked up the stuff, but the van's on it's last ugga chuggas."

His mother's head poked out of the kitchen, "On it's last what?" Her dark, rich pelt dusted with flour, making the older doe almost match her son's colors.

"Ugga chugga. You know, it's what helps get the donkey power down to the road."

The doe blinked, then looked at his father in a silent cry for help. A sigh, "I know, it's been struggling on hills. Don't know what's wrong with it. Certainly not the lightning whirlers, or..." about then he got hit by a kitchen towel.

Ella started back into the kitchen, "I swear, you two and your..." what complains she had was cut off by the rattle of metal. His father and he shared a smirk. "Oh, Paul I need you to take this upstairs." She pushed the food cart out to him with a smile, "Please and thank you. Your father and I will unload the van."

His already slouched form sank a bit lower. The tall lop all but laying on the food cart, "I thought Louise was handling room service."

"She is, and she's already taking a cart up. This one is ready now, so if you don't mind." She gave him _The Look_and he just sighed. Of course she knew that sigh well, "Thank you!" and gave his cheek a kiss before sweeping past. "Come on, Hubert. Made sure to get enough so that we can be ready for the..." again her voice faded away as she went out the rear door.

His father shrugged and followed after, leaving Paul to wander down the hall with the cart. Eyep, this was his life. Had been his life since he could walk. Helping out at the family's hotel, Bohemia Lake. His grandparents founded the place. Bought up some land, built the place, and found success. They passed it to his father. Then his father would pass it down to... well whichever of his siblings got stuck with it.

It'd probably be him, since he was going to college for Hospitality. Don't get him wrong. He loved the place, and his folks were good about listening to ideas he had. It was more the how of they went about asking for things from him. Like not even telling him what room he was supposed to go to.

There was the receipt. Mom was always consistent about putting that on the cart. Quick check showed it was Room 204. He liked to guess what type of person was in the room based on the meal. Bacon cheeseburger, extra pickle, side of fries, garden salad with a cream dressing (his mother's signature dressing), and a brownie swirl shake.

Well, seemed like a lot of food for one person. Probably a couple. Though the rooms had fridges, advantage of being a resort, so maybe they were saving the salad for later. Certainly an omnivore.

Shame that 204 was near the elevator. He didn't have much time to ponder before he was at the door. A door that was propped open slightly with the swing lock. Even knowing that was usually an invite, he knocked on the door, "Room Service." Didn't want to walk in while a guest was getting ice or something.

"Come in," the voice was husky, deeper, feminine. Paul nudged the door open and stepped inside to find a bear lady.

A lone bear lady.

A lone, bare bear lady.
