Screens of Wonder
A little one-shot of a very old character I've had by the name of Burnell Riceball, a Pyro Squirrel. He recently just finished his daily assignments of watching over Kimball and making sure it kept afloat, so he gets a little bit of TV time.
Inside the comfortable hive of the Pyro Squirrel, Burnell was busy setting up his bed and electronic devices for him to entertain himself with for the next few hours until he is assigned for another task... if he ever gets one.
He had recently fixed the leaking lava problem in the boiler room of the Kimball realm, which was an easy fix - all he needed was a few wrenches and amounts of scotch tape to prevent any more loose drops of the molten magma from coming out of the pipes.
As the white Pyro Squirrel finished up on placing his blanket gently and evenly on the mattress of his soft bed, he ran to his mini fridge and rummaged through its contents to find some snacks. Luckily, he was able to head to the market today for some food and picked out some Oreos, Robo-Rockers, Snake bites, Gouda beans, and some Opal ice cream.
Along with a lovely concoction of snacks, Burnell also found the entire case of Dr. Spice and snagged a can, heading back to his bed. The Pyro Squirrel proceeded to grab the remote that lay on his nightstand and switched on the Television set.
As the TV flashed on, Burnell opened up a the first bag of Snake Bites and had his beautiful yellow eyes glued to the screen. Paying attention to whatever is happening on the television, he took a sip of Dr. Spice and a small nibble of a Snake Bite.
Today was also the day that _Ruby-Spears Mega Man _premiered for the first time in years since the show's cancellation, and it was by far Burnell's most favorite show in the world.
Remembering his usual trips to Dawnstone, he would always see Robots in the city who were interested in how they function, let alone around humans and animals.
Turning his head to see his plush toy Tango from the _Mega Man _franchise, he rapidly grabbed it and hugged it right. The bushy, fiery tail behind him waved slowly with delight as the opening theme came on, and so did the episode.
This time, a random episode was picked to premiere, so it showed one of the episodes from Season 2, the one where Mega Man X made his appearance. Burnell, still hugging Tango, smiled in glee as it played. He paid attention as Mega Man and his sister Roll teamed up with X to take down Vile and Spark Mandrill, as well as Dr. Wily allying with Vile.
The Pyro Squirrel could feel his white fur start to glow in a fit of yellow as he can sense his lower stomach sink lower in excitement. However, just as the episode got more intense, a commercial came on.
This was no commercial, unfortunately... this commercial was something else. It showed male Androids - tall, slim, and lanky - wearing fishnet clothing and flashing lights everywhere. It was an advertisement for a live concert going on for someone by the name of Dj Ultraboy, who was shown as a robotic Kitsune with red headphones and sunglasses.
He wore a red fedora and also sported a toothy smirk. Once again, more male androids appeared onto the screen, their fishnet bodies visible. The Pyro Squirrel was caught off guard by this, even to the point where he felt something warm... and glowy...
Looking behind him, he noticed his red, bushy tail brightly glowing tentatively into a bright pink and his body becoming orange. In most Pyro Squirrels, this was a sign of pleasure and excitement, usually for when the latter becomes infatuated with something or someone.
Burnell was blushing intently, hoping no one saw him. Luckily, the windows and doors to his Hive were closed shut, so not even a single person here in the Kimball realm would see his unintentional predicament.
_Those Android dudes are cute. Ooh, how I wish to be with them some day! _He thought. Unfortunately, Burnell was a mammal and they were o robotic origin. According to the laws in Dawnstone, Beasts were forbidden from dating anyone else outside of their classification ranks, so this was a distance dream.
"If only I could make a warm fire with my pyrotechnics," He told himself. "We can all cuddle up by the fireplace and drink hot cocoa together..."
However, for the time being, the only robot Burnell will ever be with is his plush toy robot cat, Tango. That will be the only Android in his life.
