#7 of Spyro's Growing Up.

Ya know, I was halfway through writing this before I remembered that I hadn't put in my two cents for this or the last one, heh. *Sheepish*. Anyway, this story is greatly enhanced if you open up a second internet window and procede to this URL :

, where you will find the audio that is portrayed in this story. I can by no means force you, but trust me, you won't be dissapointed. Amd by the way, I hope I got the lyrics right, it got kind of confusing at the end of the story.

PS To avoid copyright issues, no matter what I say in this story, this song remains the property of Nickelback, and I can only pray they smile upon this use of it.

Hunter plugged in his guitar to the amp, and so did Sparx across the stage. Sapphire was testing her drums up the back, and Spyro was standing nervously, with the microphone clipped to the side of his head.

To be allowed to bring in this stage and their instruments, they had had to tell the airport conductor every detail of their dilemma, before his teary eyed mate beside him insisted that he let them (it had still been quite difficult for Sparx to bring up his bass guitar) .

Two hours earlier they had been told that Ember had left Uldum, and was on her way back to inter-realm central, where they now stood. Spyro had already planned it all, and all that was left was to do the deed.

'Spyro! Spyro!' called out a harassed looking attendant from the back of the crowd that had gathered, curious as to what their hero was up to. 'She just landed!'

Ten minutes later, the attendant at the desk gave Spyro a thumb's up, indicating he should start. The cameradragon in front of him started rolling. Sparx began the first bass strings, and hunter soon joined in. Ember was watching through the small, portable television she had been given. She had not been told about this, and was wondering why the disguised Grace had given this to her.

Sapphire began tapping away at her drums, and Spyro, taking his cue, began to sing.

'This time, this place, misused, mistakes.' He had written this song himself.

'Too long, too late, who was I to make you wait?'

Ember, watching from the small T.V. she had been given, and walking quickly along the arrivals corridor, grew starry eyed, and stoppped in her tracks, transixed.

'Just one chance, just one breath, just in case there's just one left, 'cos you know, you know', hunter joined in,'you knoooooooow.'

'I love you, and I loved you all along, and I missed you, been far away for far too long.'

Ember started crying out of happiness and started running along the passageway.

'I keep dreamin', you'll be with me and you'd never go, stop breathing, if I don't see you anymore.'

Hunter and Sparx gave that same, heart-warming tune again.

Sinking to his knees, Spyro sang into the camera 'On my knees, I'll ask, last chance for one last dance.'

Ember's breathing was ragged and her legs ached from running. Why was the darned passage so long!

'Cos with you, I'd withstand, all of hell to hold your hand.'

'I'd give it all, I'd give for us, give anything but I won't give up, 'cos you know, you know, you knoooooooow.'

Ember was crying out loving words, hoping that Spyro could hear her, sorry for leaving, and telling him she loved him. She was running along the corridor as fast as her slightly athletic buold would allow her, desperately wanting to see and hold and touch her Spyro.

'I love you, and I loved you all along. And I miss you, been far away for far too long.'

She stopped wasting her time with crying and words, and focused on running.

'I keep dreamin, you''l be with me and you'd never go, stop breathin' if I don't see you anymore.'

At this Hunter stepped in again and said 'So far away', to which Spyro responded 'So far away, and then they both said 'Been far away for far too long.' They then said it again, making a beautiful harmony fill the bright air.

'But you know, you know, you knooooooooow...'

Ember slammed through the door and immediately caught sight of a huge crowd of people. She then saw her Spyro standing on the stage, and he cracked a smile the could melt glaciers.

Jumping off the platform, walking in a slow gait with his footsteps in time with the music, Spyro continued to sing 'I wanted, I wanted you to stay. 'Cos I needed, I need to hear you say.'

Ember had sprinted to Spyro, and now they stood with the tips of their snouts almost touching. Not quite sure how she knew, Ember was positive on what to sing into Spyro's microphone.

'I love you.'

And then Spyro was hugging her, and singing 'I love you, and I loved you all along. And I forgive you, and I forgive you, for being away for far too long.'

'So keep breathin, 'cos I'm not leavin you anymore. Believe it, hold onto me, never let me go.'

Crying at what Spyro had done for her, Ember was unable to do anything but cling to him, like her life depended on it. And it did. It did.

'Keep breathin', 'cos I'm not leavin' you anymore. Believe it, hold onto me, never let me go. Keep breathin', hold onto me never let me go. Keep breathin', hold onto me never let me go.'

Far away no more.
