Part 2.1

by Dego

Author's Note: This is a very long story about a fox. If you're not interested in sitting in for the long run, don't read it and don't give me a bad vote. The story is split into 10 sections and numbered 2.0, 2.1, 2.2... and so on. Part 1 may be read from my profile or searched. Generally, I will post a new section each day, but specifics about this can be read in my journal. Please enjoy.

Charlie and Jack got up, then Charlie started to dress as Jack sat on the edge of the bed and watched. Feeling a little self-conscious, Charlie tried to hide his nakedness from the staring akita, causing Jack to grin, until Charlie sighed and rolled his eyes, then playfully commented "You can't just watch me all day... go on, get dressed!"

Jack's grin widened and his gaze shifted down Charlie's body. "Oh, I bet I could."

Charlie giggled and leaned in. "Well you can't." he said, then put his paw on Jack's back and drew him in for a kiss. "Get dressed, worthless."

"Mmm, I can't." Jack replied. "I just realized I didn't pack a change of clothes."

Jack was only supposed to be over for a few hours last night, but ended up staying.

"Tell you what," Charlie said, "I'll loan you a change of clothes if you promise to ride the bus with me to school."

"Oooh, you drive a hard bargain fox. Alright, I'll do it."

Charlie laughed again and tossed Jack a t-shirt and some shorts.

The two furs went downstairs early enough that neither of Charlie's parents were out of bed yet. Hungry, Charlie dug first in the pantry then in the refrigerator for something to eat. He discovered a canister of cinnamon rolls and showed them to Jack, who nodded happily. Charlie preheated the oven and greased a pan while Jack placed the cinnamon rolls. Charlie slid the pan into the oven, closed the door, then waited whilst having a frank chat with Jack:

"So you're gay?" Charlie asked.

Jack put his paws behind him so he could lean back on the counter. "Yeah. I guess I am."

"You guess? When did this come up?"

"Well I'd been thinking about it since I was 12. I'm 14 now. I didn't know myself; I didn't know what I wanted and I never met anyone I really wanted to be with, until I met you."

Charlie looked down to hide his blush.

Jack continued: "When I shook paws with you and said 'nice to meet you,' I could tell I already liked you. I decided then and there that I'd really test what I wanted; see if it was guys. I found out that I want you, I love you, so, yeah, I guess I'm gay." Jack smiled.

Charlie had to turn even further away to hide his blush. "I made you gay?" He asked without looking at Jack.

"No, you were just... a catalyst. You helped me discover who I want to be, who I want to love. You."

Charlie couldn't turn any further away, so instead he faced the akita directly, who was forced to suppress a chuckle seeing Charlie's deep red hue.

"I love you too." he said. "But... I just don't know if I'm gay. Is that ok?"

"Heh, don't worry about it. You're only... wait, how old?"

"Thirteen."

"Yeah. Wait, what? Then how are you in highschool?" Jack had thought Charlie was older.

"Oh, I was bumped up a grade."

"Oh. Well anyway, you're only 13; you don't have to label yourself."

Charlie was so happy Jack came to the same conclusion he did. He rushed forward and embraced the akita, who hugged back.

The cinnamon rolls finished cooking and Charlie took them out of the oven with hot pads. Jack wagged his curly akita tail as Charlie turned them out onto a plate. The fox pointed at Jack and told him not to do anything mischievous while he went upstairs to tell his parents he had made breakfast. "No, of course not." Jack replied while eyeing the cinnamon rolls hungrily.

The fox family came down together, and all enjoyed a nice breakfast. Jack, the guest, was given the soft middle cinnamon roll, and snuck a glance at Charlie to show that his family must have really hit it off with him. The little fox nodded once in agreement, then stuffed half a cinnamon roll into his muzzle.
