Part 2.0

by Dego

Author's Note: This is a very long story about a fox. If you're not interested in sitting in for the long run, don't read it and don't give me a bad vote. The story is split into 10 sections and numbered 2.0, 2.1, 2.2... and so on. Part 1 may be read from my profile or searched. Generally, I will post a new section each day, but specifics about this can be read in my journal. Please enjoy.

Charlie woke up the next morning to a jolt of surprise. He was up before his alarm, even up before his parents. He awoke to a quiet serenity as the soft morning light filtered in through his window. What jolted the small brown fox what that he woke up next to someone. It was Jack, his very close friend (literally and figuratively). The grey-furred Akita was pressed up against Charlie as he slept, with one arm draped over the fox's side. It was then that Charlie remembered what had happened last night: he brought the akita home from school just to play some games and get to know him better, but ended up sleeping with him. Charlie grinned and relaxed from his surprise as he recalled that he shared deep feelings with Jack.

Charlie felt how warm he was from sleeping so close to someone else, and how comfortable he was with Jack's arm laying on his side. He tried to very carefully turn over so he could face his lover without waking him up. He managed the turn without dropping Jack's arm, then looked at the akita's serene sleeping face. He felt a sense of love, of happiness and calm, of safety and tranquility all from one sleeping face. He felt Jack's slow, controlled breathing and saw his chest lightly rise and fall. Charlie smiled wide as the morning light began to creep into his room and the birds starting singing outside. He used his paws to caress the akita's toned chest, then moved down his center until he reached where the akita's boxers were supposed to be. Charlie remembered that Jack had decided to go without them last night, so he passed his waistline and began to feel of Jack's warm naked groin. He watched the akita's lips raise in a smile as Charlie grinned likewise. Awakening, Jack took a deep breath and lifted his draped arm off of Charlie to grab the fox's naughty paw. He opened his eyes and caught the fox's gaze.

Jack rolled onto his back and took a big stretch while yawning widely. Charlie liked that Jack's pink tongue poked out his muzzle while he yawned. It made him giggle. Then Charlie remembered that he had never giggled in front of anyone before, and could not understand why he kept doing it in front of Jack.

Jack folded his arms onto his stomach as he rested on his back, then turned to face Charlie.

"Good morning love." he said confidently.

"Love?" Charlie asked, "Are we, like, a couple now?"

Jack chuckled. "Well... do we love each other?"

Charlie had to really consider this question. Did he love another male? Considering what he did last night, and considering how Jack made him feel, he responded confidently in turn: "Yes."

"Then we're a couple." Jack turned back onto his back and closed his eyes. Charlie was impressed by Jack's confidence and frankness, which he supposed was one reason he loved him. Then he began to contemplate exactly what that meant: was Charlie gay? He didn't think so; he didn't really have any reason, before Jack, to believe that he was. He wondered if he was attracted to girls. He thought so, but he didn't really know so. Maybe Charlie wasn't ready to attach a permanent label to himself; he resolved to just go with what he thought was right.

"You have to, you know, put something on." Charlie said to Jack with a grin.

"Aww, how come?" Jack responded with his eyes still closed. The akita reached over and placed his paw on Charlie's chest, then began walking down his body with two fingers.

"Hehe, stop it." Charlie grabbed the akita's paw and playfully tossed it back at him.

"Awright, fiiiiiine." Jack said sarcastically as he reached towards the foot of the bed to recover the gym shorts Charlie had loaned him to wear. He slipped them on as Charlie yawned and stretched. The pair stared at each other for a while until Jack said, "I suppose we have to get out of bed."

"Yeah."
