May asks as she comes into David's room/office. He looks up from a bunch inventory records from the remains for their ship, "Can we talk?" He smiles at her, then the smile goes away when he sees her sad face, "What is it?" She shuffles in place, "I...I'm...I just wanted to tell you...that..." she grips the pregnancy test behind her back, "David, do you love me?" He raises an eyebrow, "Of course I do, why do you ask?" She murmurs to herself, then puts it back in her pocket, "No reason," she walks back through the door, "It's just been a while since we arrived here, and I miss my actual family." He gets up to comfort her, but she had already left by the time he got to his feet. He sighs, then looks back at the pile of papers, then something caught his eye. Snatching up his paper, he runs out of his room, "EMERGENCY MEETING, NOW!" They all come to the living room, and David holds up the paper, "I think we might have a solution that I've overlooked!" Bones thinks for a second, "is this about the problem where we can't get home, or about the cheesy smell in the air conditioning?" Completely ignoring the question, "Does anyone know what THIS is?" The other four look at the blue trimmed paper. Then, Xavier looks up at David, "Is this the diagram of the engine?" "Yes..." he edges on, "Guys! Guys!" David tries to calm them down a little, "We're nowhere near to being out of the woods yet. First, we've got to find a way to throw out the signal." They all looked stumped, but the Xavier speaks up, "Maybe parts from the ship can be salvageable." David rushes towards the phone, "X, you're a lifesaver!" he dials three sets of phone numbers, then, "Winor, I need the remains of our ship...it's about us making contact with where-...thank you, sir," he turns back, "Time to get to work, guys" * * *

- * * 3 weeks earlier * * * May looks over a familiar grave. placing three roses on the headstone, she wipes her hand over the name, Laurence Avery. David comes up behind her. She turns around to see him, and they hug, "Today was his birthday," May says while tears stream down her face, "I still miss him, David." David tries in vain to comfort her, "Your older brother was a good man," David stares at the three roses, a red, white, and pink from left to right, in that order. After an hour, she was still sobbing over him. And David still held to her. * * * Once they got back to the house, May sat down on the couch. She the feels something swelling up inside of her. She rushes to the bathroom, and throws up in the toilet. She puts it off to stress...until it happened every other day for three weeks. Sitting on the toilet seat, she looks over to the little meter on the sink. She looks at her watch. She slowly walks to the white device. The screen was face down, she slowly flips it. She glances to the screen, and sees a crack running down the middle. She tosses that one in the same bin as the other ones. After a little bit of waiting she looks at the new one. Two crosses appear on the screen. She sighs, tucking the device in her pocket to show David. * * *
Later
- * * She sat on her bed looking at the tester. She had never felt happier in her life, but was too scared to admit it. She places it inside of a box that once held a Necklace. The jewelry that it once held belonged to her brother, coming home to see his kids after 3 years. Egypt would be a nice right about now. Winter would have set in the northern regions, and they would be playing in the 3 foot deep wonderland, 'This planet,' she thinks to herself, 'has a different way of having climate. What is it now, summer? in July?' She snaps the box shut and slips a baby blue ribbon around it. On top she puts a note and puts it in her dresser. Sitting in the darkness of her room, she looks at her clock 23:17 (11:17 pm). She has time to think about the future of the planet. In 2343, a comet strikes the earth where L.A. used to be. Sending the orbit off to and incredible angle; the earth remained fine and intact, all except the rotation. The planet was now rotating laterally, instead of horizontally. In 2552, human scientists have found a mutation gene that changes an animal's status from quadruped, to bipedal. This game science the perfect opportunity to create what they now refer to as the "Salem Project." They injected this gene into a pregnant wolf, so they can study the effects of its potency. The four pups that were born were named Michael, Susan, Alexander, and Kurt Salem. Though normal looking at first, learned to walk, talk, and finally act like humans. Michael became a scientist, continuing on the project. Susan got married to a human, giving birth to four kids; two human, two dog. Alexander joined the military, and he taught armies all over the globe the tactics wolves had used for thousands of years. Kurt was a different story however. He had a mental breakdown at the age of 18, convinced that all the animals around him were trying to "steal" his body. They at first thought he was crazy, until they learned that the other animals WERE actually talking to him. He, along with Michael, eventually gave each type of creature an anthropomorphic ambassador. The Bird King, Rubin Avery, conquered Africa, becoming the "father" of all the different types of birds. The Human and monkey populations intermixed, so Man had regained tails, and received increased dexterity, and a higher mental capacity. A plague in 2622 hit the Humans, dropping their population low enough to be considered an endangered species. They now live in was once called Greenland, which was then the greenest place on the planet. The Cat Empire, known as the Terrabites, (which is exactly as it sounds,) took over the main part of Asia and Europe. They had adopted the Greek mythologies, and became a superpower in the space of a hundred years. They are in constant state of battle with the "Dogs of Russia" which are of the pure bloodline of Susan, "Mother Russia" as they called her. They have control of what was once the North Pole, Russia, and Canada. All the way in the crater of America, Lord of the Flies himself, Anthony, used the hostile region of The American Wasteland as a breeding ground for Insect and Lizard people. And most of South America is home to all the other species, including Horses and Cattle. Finally, in Australia and, they created a realm of actual Pokémon. What was first a joke, became an actuality. There, a host of creative minds that came alive in the area. Most of the Artists, Authors, Poets, and Architects sprung up, giving this land the nickname "Land of Thought" and the name stuck. A living pool of Creativity; they say that a month in the land of thought gave you a secondhand artistic spike. There, a college graduate, a cat named Austin Mavros, gets an idea of a rocket. This became the first working space settlement in 2777. The Planet Earth branches out to the entire Solar System. The time to travel from Earth to Earth mkII on Eruopa took 3 years, but it gave people more room to grow. It's there, on mkII that animals like Polar bears and Seals were able to flourish. In the year 2872, the exact day and year of David's Birth, mkII was established on Harbinger, a cluster of rocks from the Kuiper belt, was created as a space prison for people to be sent, and our story starts 28 years later. May rubs her eyes, turning to the clock she reads the glowing digits, 0:01 (12:01 am). She gets up and walks out of room, heading for the kitchen. She looks through the fridge for something tasty. Putting her sandwich on a plate, she bites into it. Bones walks past her, then does a triple take, "Is that a pickle, horseradish, cayenne pepper, and anchovy sandwich with sourdough bread?" She thinks about it, then chokes on it. spiting it back onto the plate, she tries to rinse out her mouth in vain, "Are you going to finish that? I was coming for the exact same thing." }- - - - -{ }- - - - -{ }- - - - -{ I wanted to take the time to say that the "Pokémon" series does not belong to me. I also took the time to explain some future plot, and some history of the post-catastrophe Earth they are from. In case you were wondering, I took a trip to Australia for a school trip, and there I came up with the idea of this story. I am back with a fiery vengeance...and a sore ass.
