Prologue:

The story starts amongst the mists of Ancient Egypt; Thebes is a tyrannous kingdom. The city has been under a terrible curse from the cities Sphinx. The Sphinx has sung her song over the city for too long. It is causing trouble amongst the cities women. They experience miscarriages, nausea, and even death.

Women are appalled and the men will not stand for this. They uproar and trample toward the city square. They are exposing King Laos, as a liar and a traitor to their very existence. They want an heir to the throne, but it seems King Laos cannot bare them one.

He also cannot solve the riddle that the Sphinx sings, as he tried to find out what it meant and was rejected from her sight. The King's actions caused a terrible storm to grasp the city, with torrential rains, thunder, and even lightning.

With this action, the women of Thebes did not get better, if anything they started getting sicker, and now even the men where decaying while still walking.

The town has seen enough, and the threaten King Laos, And Queen Iocasta to death. Unless they have a son, the town will not rest until Laos and Iocasta are dead.

Their daughters Antigoneia and Electra will be locked away, if the city does attack the Theban castle. This seems more likely now, as King Laos struggles, to keep them from attacking his soldiers, and he has seen the blood spilt on his steps as a sign of great misfortune.

However, the town does not care about his men, they care about his throne. To whom will King Laos give it to? The town doesn't thrust his brother Tiresuius, after he left in the middle of the Battle between Largos and Thebes all but 20 years ago.

The town is completely against him, and wants to see that Laos does not live any longer. The town gathers in the Theban square below the balcony and shout obscurities the King to; explain why all of a sudden the nation's women grow better; mating rituals are going to plan. And why the terrible storm has finally deceased

King Laos and Queen Iocasta have given birth to their first son. But he is born with feathers on his feat, a horrible defect.

An oracle is sent to speak to Laos about this, but the oracles reveils that the son he has received will kill him and marry his wife.
