#2 of A Wolf's first love

Okay so here is part 2, it ended up going up a bit later than I had planned but life happens right. Unfortunately there isn't any yiff in this part... or in the next few parts going up but it is coming. Once again I would love any feedback you can give especially if it is constructive and comment, comment, comment. and just as an after thought how is the length of the sections working for you because I can make them longer, shorter or keep them the same.

The rest of the class seemed to pass in a blur of fantasy, all that Will could do was stare at the fox memorizing every detail. Much too soon for Will the class was dismissed and Jake got up and left, leaving only a ghost of his scent. Will waited patiently while Sarah packed up her notes and put away her pen. They slowly began to make their exit from the lecture hall in silence.

"Okay now you have to tell me what is up" said Sarah as they walked from the room breaking the silence. Will remained silent for a moment trying desperately to find the words to tell Sarah what he was. He had felt so much better about telling Sarah when he'd had a full lecture between himself and the time he would actually have to say the words allowed.

"Just wait until we get to the coffee shop and then we can talk properly" mumbled Will in an abject tone. If he hadn't been so concerned with what he would say to Sarah he might have seen her look of concern, or more importantly Jake waiting in the hall.

Jake had been waiting for Will to come out of the room; he wanted to talk to him. He could feel himself beginning to sweat in a nervous anticipation as Will made his way out of the room.

"Why does she have to be with him" Jake thought to himself. He knew that he couldn't say what he wanted if she was there, he wasn't even sure he could say what he wanted if it was only him and Will. "Maybe at lunch" murmured Jake as he turned and walked away in the opposite direction of Sarah and Will with his tail down, feeling defeated.

Will and Sarah made their way to the coffee house in silence, Will debating how he was going to tell Sarah he was gay, Sarah worried over what Will was going to talk about. The coffee house was almost empty giving the pair their choice in seats. Without a word said they worked their way to a table far in the back corner, where they wouldn't be overheard. They sat in a continuing silence for several minutes.

"Okay I can't take this suspense anymore; you have to tell me what is going on. First I thought it was something good but now your mood is making me worry about what you are going to tell me," burst force Sarah effectively ending their shared silence. Will could see the concern that was weighing heavy on her mind sitting in her golden eyes.

"It is just that I, I'm" Will stuttered, "I'm gay." Will let his eyes sink not wanting to look directly into Sarah's face. He knew he didn't have anything to be ashamed of, but he couldn't help it, his stomach was in knots. They both sat there in silence Will, just wished that Sarah would say something. Will was wondering why he didn't just make something else up, now he was going to lose Sarah as a friend, he would have no one. Tears had begun to sting at the corners of his eyes when Sarah finally spoke.

"Is that all?" Sarah enquired. Will was speechless he didn't understand how was she so calm about this.

"Yeah, well I also, uh kinda have this crush on Jake you know that fox that sits in front of us in history" responded Will trying to hide the quiver in his voice. Sarah felt herself grinning; now she understood why Will was in such a good mood at the beginning of history, and why he couldn't focus.

"Well do you know if he is, well you know?" asked Sarah now much more intrigued by her friend's situation.

"No, I was going to ask him out for coffee so even if he isn't I could just pass it off as being friendly, but he just ran out of history so I didn't have a chance," replied Will. "I was going to see if I could find him during lunch break," he continued "but I don't know if I feel brave enough to do it now."

"You have to," encouraged Sarah, "If you don't then you will always wonder what might have been. I mean the worst that could happen is he could say no." Sarah was so cool with this; Will now had the courage to do it. Privately Will resolved that he would ask Jake out no matter how nervous he became.

The pair finished their break by talking of idle things like classes and which professors were good and which were bad. The time for their next classes approached much more rapidly than either had expected and much the same as every day went their separate ways. Will made it just in time for his calculus class and he tried to pay attention but his mind wandered yet again.

The lecture seemed to have some mysterious time, for at one moment it would seem to drag giving Will all the time he felt he needed to prepare what he would say to Jake, but in a strange twist the moment he thought he decided what he would say the class was dismissed and it was time for lunch.

Will and Sarah sat together in their usual spot. Will's stomach was a mass of writhing snakes; he couldn't believe how nervous he was or that he really was going to do this.

"Isn't that right Will?" Sarah asked

"Uh yeah right" Will responded having no idea what the conversation was about, and it didn't seem to be that important, he was too nervous about how he was going to approach Jake. He began to panic as he feared that Jake would be surrounded by a large group of friends. He wondered how he would get Jake alone so that he could talk to him. Sarah noticed that Will wasn't paying even the slightest attention to what she had been saying and didn't really care; she knew he had bigger things on his mind.

Jake walked into the lunch room and took a quick look around, he immediately noticed Will and Sarah sitting together. He could feel himself begin to sweat, how was he going to get Will away from her. What if they were together, this was stupid Will probably wasn't even gay by the look of things he was probably dating Sarah, why was he wasting his time. Jake didn't even notice that he had found his way to an empty table.

Sitting down Jake began to take control of himself again. He would just wait until Sarah, he thought her name was, left then he would go up and talk to Will nice and casually. Jake just picked at the lunch he had packed while he watched the pair, waiting for them to go their separate ways.

Sarah was the first of the pair to notice that Jake had come into the lunch room. "Will look behind you Jake just came in and is sitting all by himself" Said Sarah quietly. Will did his best to casually stretch and confirm what Sarah had just said. It was true; Will could barely contain his excitement.

"You don't mind if I leave you here to go and talk with him?" Will enquired.

"Not at all, I was just going to head off to my next class anyway" replied Sarah. The two made their goodbyes quickly, and Sarah made Will promise to call her later and give all the details. Both Sarah and Will began to get up to dispose of the remains of their lunches.

Jake had noticed that the pair were leaving and began to curse to himself as they both rose together and made their way to the garbage can. "How can I talk to him if he is always with her I will never have a chance to get him all to myself" Jake muttered unaware under his breath. Jake was about to give up on any hope of talking to Will today when he realized the wolf was standing next to his table all alone.

"Mind if I sit down?" asked Will.

"Not at all" replied Jake. The two sat in silence, each completely tense and unsure how to proceed. Will was the first to speak, "so do you want to maybe go and grab a coffee or something tonight?" Jake just sat in complete awe, how perfect was this he didn't even have to try and ask him out in this crowded lunch room.

"Uh yeah, how about 6:30 at the coffee house here on campus?" Jake replied hoping he didn't sound too eager.

"Works perfect for me" answered Will. The two sat there for a moment each trying and failing to control their own excitement. Neither however managed to notice the excitement of the other, this was probably due to the fact it took the complete focus of each not to jump up and down with glee.
