Sierra and Kiki - Best of Friends

'Such a lovely summers day,' Kii thought to herself as she sipped on her drink.

10 O'clock on a Saturday day morning. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and a blissful gentle breeze buffeted the large umbrella that stuck out from the middle of her table.

The cafe was quite busy, but still was quiet noise wise. Couples chatted to each other, groups laughed at jokes or funny things that happened to a friend that wasn't with them. And like her, those without company just enjoyed the beautiful day.

She was a little sad she was alone, but she wasn't sitting in the cafe for no reason. An old friend had asked for Kii to meet her there. A friend who she hadn't seen in many years, and who she was excited to catch up with.

Minutes passed and the few clouds that were in the sky began to disperse, leaving the warm sun to shine upon everything. Those who sat in the sun quickly donned sunglasses to shield their eyes, but luckily Kii faced away from the sun, which was actually quite warm.

She fluffed her black hair, and tried her best to keep her hands in her shadow. She was lucky that most of her fur was a creamy white, but for her hands, feet, ears and long flowing hair, which was as black as a moonless night.

She looked around the cafe again, trying to spot her friend. Furs of all shapes and sizes occupied the many tables. One in particular caught her attention. It was a husky fur, but that wasn't what drew her attention. It was his completely black fur, which was as dark as her hair. He also had a bright white mark that ran from his eye down and along his arm.

He was obviously very gallant as he had given up his seat in the shade to his female companion. She did feel sorry for him, as he kept shifting in his seat, which happened to be right in the sun.

"Mind if I join you?" a very familiar sounding voice asked from behind her.

Kii shot to her feet and embraced the newcomer.

"Sierra! It's so good to finally see you again after so long!"

Sierra could only laugh as she returned the embrace.

"15 years really is too long a time to spend away from my oldest friend.

They both sat down.

"Don't mind if I order some food do you, Kiki? I'm famished!"

Kii shook her head and smiled at the old nickname.

"Course not; I was waiting for you to get here before I got anything."

Sierra smiled back and called a waitress over. As she made her order, which to Kii sounded like it could feed two, she noticed how much she had changed from her memories.

Gone was the scruffy little, titian coloured, tomboy wolf, who's red hair had been the butt of many a joke. Even more so the young trouble maker who'd helped Kii to torment others.

In her place sat a beautiful, and Kii would hate to admit, sexy looking, titian furred wolf fur, with blood red hair and black socked and gloved hands and feet, and a white chest and tipped tail.

Sierra finished ordering and the waitress looked to Kii, who ordered a couple of toasted sandwiches.

"So, what were you staring at just then? That hot looking Tauren behind me?"

Kii smiled and laughed.

"No actually, but now you mention him."

Kii made as if she was trying to look past Sierra.

"Haha very funny, how's a hot chick like you stay single for so long?"

Kii smiled at her.

"You if you have to know so badly. I was thinking how much you've changed since I saw you last. Where did that cheeky little red head go?"

"Oh she's still here; she's just trying to behave.

Kii raised an eyebrow at the statement. Sierra, behaving? Kii doubted that it would last long.

"Hey, you were just as bad. Where did that cheeky fox that I grew up with go?"

"She did exactly that, grew up. We were a little strange though hey, a fox and a wolf growing up together."

Sierra giggled and pointed over to the black husky fur, and his girlfriend.

"No stranger than a dog dating a cat."

Kii laughed.

"Haha, true."

They spent the next half hour talking about old times, and what they had been up to while they were apart.

"Anyway," Sierra leaned forward and lowered her voice a little. "Guess who I ran into a couple of years ago!"

Kii's eyes widened and she put her drink down.

"No... You don't mean?"

Sierra giggled.

"Yeah... Wolf."

"But I thought he had moved up to Alaska in the states!?"

"He had, well still is up there. I met him when I went over there for a short holiday."

"When did you go to Alaska?"

"Two years ago silly. He was dropping his parents off at the airport. The hotel I was staying at was supposed to have a car there to pick me up, but no one was there. Well he recognised me, thanks to my red hair and stopped to see what I was doing. When I told him my hotel had screwed my booking up, he insisted that I came and spent the time with I was there with him."

Kii was on the edge of her seat.

"What did you do?"

Sierra leant back with a little giggle.

"What else do you think I did, I accepted. It's not like I had any other options."

Kii was surprised, but not by much. Wolf always cared about them. Mainly because they were his only friends. Fur as black as the night, a white chest, and golden eyes. Many thought of him as fearsome or scary.

"So what was his place like? Was it any better than what your hotel was going to be like?"

"Oh yeah, much better."

"How much better?"

Sierra set her own drink down now.

"Ok, think of the most isolated part of the Alaskan forests. He made a large clearing and then used the trees he cut down to build a lovely log cabin. In the winter he gets a wonderfully thick layer of snow, at night there are thousands of stars, the northern lights, oh and the best part is listening to the howls of the local wolf packs and letting their beautiful symphony lull you to sleep."

"Wow that sounds really romantic."

"Yeah, well that's not the half of it."

She lifted her hand and showed Kii the golden band on one of her fingers.

"Hey! I thought you said you would wait until I got here before you told Kiki about us!"

The new voice sounded very familiar. Sierra made a frustrated look past Kii's shoulder.

"I waited long enough slowpoke! You're just lucky I waited at all!"

A large heavy hand came to rest on her shoulder. She looked up at the fur, and received a kiss on the nose.

"It's good to finally see you again, Kiki," Wolf said with great affection. Kii rose and embraced him.

"And I'm happy to see both my good friends again too, Wolf!"

"Anyway, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I'm getting married!"

Sierra had such glee in her voice she almost squealed it.

"Who to?"

She giggled.

"You're hugging him!"

Kii looked up at Wolf.

"She's not lying Kiki, we really are getting married. We came down for the engagement party."

They all sat down, and moments later the food Kii and Sierra had ordered arrived. And just as Kii thought Sierra had ordered enough for two.

"So... are you going to come?" Sierra asked from behind a mouthful of bacon and eggs. Kii almost choked at the face Wolf pulled at Sierra. She poked her tongue out at him, and then returned her attention back to Kii.

"Of course I will, it's something I wouldn't miss for the world! When is it?"

Sierra smiled and finished her mouthful.

"Tonight."

Kii's eyes widened.

"What!? Tonight, but I haven't anything to wear!"

By now Wolf had finished his food and was trying to leave without Sierra noticing. But... to no avail.

"I know," she told Kii grabbing Wolf by the hand. "Which is why were taking you dress shopping!"

That was enough for Wolf, who broke free of Sierra's grasp and ran off before she could chase after him. Sierra could only laugh.

"Haha, gets him every time! Remember when we used to drag him out shopping with us to look at clothes?"

Kii nodded, and then a smiled touched her lips.

"Remember when he fell asleep in a pile of girls panties one time?"

Sierra laughed loudly.

"Oh yeah, I remember that.

An evil smile crossed her muzzle.

"Oh, I'm so going to tease him about that."

They spent the rest of the afternoon looking for things for them to wear to the party that night. They agreed to pick one for each other, but when Kii told Sierra what she liked Sierra wasn't so sure she could pick one for her.

"Lace! I don't think I could find a dress with lace," then more cheekily she added. "At least not one you can wear out in public."

After hours of looking through dozens of shops, Sierra finally found something.

It was a dark purple and light pink Lolita dress with no shoulder straps, and the part that covered the chest was a bit like a corset. The rest flowed down past the knees. It was a beautiful dress.

"Ooh, this I like," Kii said as Sierra showed her what she found.

"That's good, cause I already bought it for you! Now all we need is to find you the shoes to go with it!"

Now it was Kii's turn to show what she had found for Sierra. It was a lovely pink dress, that like the one Sierra had found for her, had no straps on the shoulders, and had a slip that ran almost to where her hips would be. Kii had even found a sexy pair of red heels to go with it.

"That looks great, looks like we're set for tonight."

Kii grinned, and they decided to spend the last few hours before the party back at Kii's place, stopping off to get a few treats.

"Mmm, I love chocolate éclairs," Sierra said. Kii laughed at her. "What?"

"You have cream on your nose!" Kii managed between her giggles. Sierra laughed too and snaked her tongue out and licked away the sweet cream.

"Yum."

"Eww, that's gross!"

"How?"

"It was on your nose! That's how!

Sierra giggled and they arrived outside Kii's home.

"You should have waited until we got here before eating your cake Sierra!"

"Why? It would have spoiled if I'd waited."

"Well... now I get to tease you as I eat mine!"

"Aww, that's so mean! Just for that I'm going to raid you secret chocolate stash!"

And with that Sierra dashed off.

"Ha, good luck finding it!"

"Aha, there it is!"

"What?" Kii rushed into her bedroom to find Sierra pulling out a small shoe box which contained her emergency chocolate supply.

"How did you find it so fast?"

"Haha, because it was in the same place from when we used to be kids! You always hid a box with some yummies on the top shelf of your closet! Honestly you never change Kiki."

She pulled out a chocolate bar and began munching on it. Kii returned the gesture by taking a huge bite from her cake and pulling a face at her. Sierra smiled and made her own face at Kii, and they both began laughing at each other.

After they had finished their treats, they both collapsed on Kii's couch with some nail polish they'd bought.

"So, how happy are you now that I'm here Kiki?"

"Very happy, today's been great."

"Is there anyone your gonna bring to the party tonight?"

"No, no one."

"Well, maybe you should ask someone."

"I can't."

"Why not? Don't you have anyone special in your life yet?"

Kii shook her head.

"What? Kiki, how come?"

"I don't know, I guess I haven't been with anyone who has caught my interest for long enough."

A grin came across Sierra's muzzle.

"You're lucky then I snagged that hot Taurens phone number before we left the cafe. Maybe we should invite him."

"What no... I don't even know the guy!"

"Really? Leigh said he knew you!"

"What I meant was I don't know him personally."

"Well then all the more reason to invite him. Where's your phone?"

"No Sierra, don't!"

"Fine... I'll use my phone!"

She got her phone and began dialling Leigh's number.

"Stop Sierra!"

Kii began chasing Sierra around the couch.

"Hey Leigh, it's Sierra... yeah the red head from before!

They both collapsed back onto the couch and Sierra held Kii at bay with her hind paws.

"Look, I've gotta friend who needs an escort to my engagement party tonight... yeah, she was hoping you could go with her..."

"Stop Sierra," Kii hissed at her, her cheeks turning as red as Sierra's hair under her cheek fur, but Sierra ignored her.

"Really, that sounds great... yeah wear something nice... great we'll meet you at Kii's place at six!"

With that she hung up the phone.

"Sierra how could you?"

"What I was doing you a favour... I know how shy you are around cute guys. So I just gave you a little nudge in the right direction. Look if your that shy you can just hang with me and Wolf for the night. But you have to bring Leigh with you, don't want to upset the poor guy after what he's done for you!

Kii just glared at her.

"Anyways, about favours, I have something I wanna ask you."

"What?" Kii wasn't happy with Sierra now.

"I wanted to ask whether you'd be my maid of honour?"

"What! Me, your maid of honour?"

Sierra smiled at her.

"Yep, your my closest friend, and I don't have any sisters or anything. Even if I did I'd still ask you, you're the most important non-family person in my life... well except for Wolf that is, but you two are pretty much on par with each other."

Kii, didn't say anything for a few minutes. Until Sierra's phone rang.

"Hey hun, what you up to? Oh yeah, I remember them... you want to come over to Kii's and see what we got! Ok."

As Sierra tried to give Wolf directions to Kii's apartment, Kii finally managed to come out of her shock.

"Yes," she said when Sierra hung up her phone.

"'Yes?' Yes what?"

"Yes I'll be your maid of honour!"
