Ch4. Welcome home

Icewaver couldn't help but hold his pup close to him while he watched the human sleep in his arms, Kyo constantly shifted and moved as if he was in a bad dream. It wasn't moments later that Kyo started to wake. Icewaver smiled when he saw the human open his eyes slowly.

"How you feeling pup?" The wolf asked while he bent down and licked the top of his pup's head. Kyo didn't say a word but he tightened his grip around the wolf tighter, burring his face in the wolf's chest. Even though he was aware of the situation that the human was in, the wolf couldn't help but smile as he saw his pup cuddle up to him. The wolf started to rub the human's back.

"My lord." They both heard from outside the tent at that moment.

Icewaver's ears perked up as he looked to the entrance to his tent. "Yes, what is it?"

A wolf came into the tent slowly but quickly looked away when he saw the human in the wolves arms. "I'm sorry my lord, I didn't mean to interrupt but the captain has summon for you."

Icewaver let out a small sigh as he gently sat up. Unwillingly Kyo let go of the wolf when he started to get up, Icewaver looked down to his pup and smiled. "Let's go pup."

Kyo didn't waist a moment to stand up and follow his wolf outside. As they walked Kyo noticed that wolves were staring at them as they made their way through the camp. The human looked down at the ground and moved more closer to the Icewaver while he clung to his arm, Icewaver couldn't help but let out a small chuckle when he looked down at his pup as he saw how close he was getting to him. When they stopped Kyo looked up to see a black wolf sitting on a stump with papers in his paws.

"You know these reports get worse every day." The captain said as he looked up and smiled.

Icewaver let out a small giggle while he picked up some of the reports and read them himself. "Yeah, the men can never get info right most of the time."

The wolf nodded before his gaze fell upon Kyo. "And this human would be?"

Icewaver smiled when wrapped his arm around Kyo and drew him close. "This would be my pup."

The captain's smile grew when he saw how close the two were. "So is he the reason you disobeyed my orders the other day."

Icewaver's ears fell back as he gave a small nod. "I had to be sure he was safe, and when I seen the smoke coming from hi..."

Trimoph held up a paw to silence the wolf. "It's ok, I would have done the same thing for someone I cared a lot bout," the wolf stood up and moved closer to Kyo, extending a paw. "It's finally nice to meet you, but can you please do me one favor?"

Kyo shook the wolf's paw. "Umm...sure." He answered in a small voice, still unsure about the situation.

Trimoph chuckled when he looked back up to Icewaver. "Keep him happy, it's a pain to be around him when he's a whining ass bitch."

The wolf glared at the captain. "I was not being a..."

"Bull shit," Trimoph said while poking Icewaver's chest with a finger. "You were whining, in a bad mood, and didn't want to talk the whole time we travailed here."

Kyo looked up to the wolf with a smile when Icewaver looked away from the captain. "Whatever."

"But in any case, I'm glad that you're with him again." The wolf said before going back to his seat to continue his work.

Kyo was somewhat confused. "Again?"

A grin came a crossed the captain's face. "Yes, I know about you two and that you were his pet almost four seasons ago. Word travels like a wild fire threw the troops and eventually get's up to captain ranks."

Kyo couldn't help but blush knowing that all the wolves in the army could know what is going on between Icewaver and himself, though deep down inside Kyo could careless, as long as his wolf is with him he would be happy.

Icewaver smiled down to the human before looking back up to Trimoph. "Sir, what about the dead back in the village?"

Kyo felt as if he was hit in the gut at the mention of his village, the black wolf continued his work without looking at them. "Taken care of."

Icewaver nodded before turning the human away and started to head back to the tent. Kyo was silent as they walked back, though something caught did caught his eyes as he glanced to the side. When he looked up anger filled through his body as he saw a bear with gold trimmed armor sitting around a fire with several wolves. Kyo didn't hesitate to take off running at the bear, when close enough his feet left the ground as Kyo jumped at the bear. With enough force to take him to the ground.

"Oh shit." One of the wolves yelled as they all moved away from the two. Kyo sat up and started to punch the bear over and over again as his eyes filled with tears. That didn't last long till Icewaver was at the human and pulled him off, several of the wolves came and helped the bear up off the ground.

"Are you ok?" One of the wolves asked him.

The bear nodded, he glanced over to the human and saw his face burred into the wolf's chest, the bear didn't need to see the human's face to know that he was crying.

"Sorry that he did that, he shouldn't have..." The wolf started.

"No," the bear said sharply. "He had every right. We were the ones that destroyed his village for really no reason." He tried to wipe some of the blood off his muzzle with his arm. "I feel that I deserve more of a punishment than a couple of hits to the face."

Icewaver held Kyo close while he looked up at the captain, blood can be seen coming from the bear's snout. He can tell by the way he looked that he feels horrible for what he has done. The wolf turned Kyo and lead him back to his tent, once back he turned the human to him and lifted Kyo's chin upward with his finger.

"Pup, I can't imagine how you feel right now but you can do that to anyone," the wolf said in almost a whisper. "What would happen if any of the bears that are left wants to have you killed based on assault on their captain?"

Icewaver drew the human into a tight hug and placed his head onto of Kyo's. "I just got you back and I don't want to lose you again."

Kyo wrapped his arms around Icewaver's midsection and drew the wolf closer. "I'm sorry, I just..." he couldn't think about what to say as he burred his face into the wolf's chest once more. Icewaver rubbed his paw up and down his back to try and make his human feel better.

"It's ok, just don't try and get into trouble." He looked down to the human and tilted his head up once more, giving Kyo a small smile before leaning down and kissing the human on the lips. Kyo hugged the wolf tighter as he felt the wolf's lips touch his, Kyo didn't want the kiss to end but the wolf slowly pulled away still smiling. "You need to rest more, we leave first thing in the morning and it's a long trip back to the palace." Icewaver said as he led his love back to his small bed and lay him down.

Once Kyo was in the bed, he pulled the covers over himself and closed his eyes to sleep. Icewaver started to head outside his tent, stopping to give one last glance at his pup before leaving. Night was approaching fast as more fires was being lit to keep the wolves and bears warm before they retreat back to their beds. He kept walking till he seen Trimoph still working on the reports of the battle that took place earlier.

"You should get some rest captain." Icewaver said as he approached the wolf.

The captain nodded without looking up. "Yeah just let me finish my work."

"Fine but don't stay up to late." The wolf took a seat next to Trimoph, "I would like to be on the move back to the palace before sunrise tomorrow morning."

Trimoph looked up at the young prince a little surprised. "So early?"

Icewaver gave a small nod. "Yes, I think the men would like to be back with their loved ones and I think it's important that father knows what's going on with the bear clan."

The captain let out a heavy sigh, "Yeah, I think your right, the sooner we get back the better our chance in figuring out how we going to handle your sister."

Icewaver looked down at the ground with a look that wasn't to pleasant. "I'm not too worried on what to do with her, we can kill her on sigh for all I care."

"That's a little heartless don't you think?" Trimoph asked as he leaned a little lower to get a better look at the wolf's face.

Icewaver shook his head, "With how many times she put my pup's life on the line and almost killed him. No I don't think I'm being too heartless."

"I understand." The captain said as he placed a paw on the wolf's shoulder. "But for now I think you also need to get to bed. You will need your energy as well." Icewaver looked up at the wolf and nodded before getting up and making his way back to his tent.

Icewaver smiled when he saw Kyo cuddling up with his pillow, fast asleep. Icewaver undressed to nothing, and then made his way to the bed. He gently moved the covers and slipped underneath, moving close to Kyo as he wrapped his arms around the human to carefully pulled him close. The human let out a small moan as he moved close to the wolf but he didn't wake while Icewaver nuzzled the back of the human's head.

"Good night my love." Icewaver said as he gave Kyo a small kiss on the cheek before closing his eyes to try to fall asleep himself.

.............................................

Kyo started to moan at the movement of feeling himself being lifted in the air. He tried to open his eyes but closed them quickly as the sun shined down at him, once used to the bright light he looked up to see the clouds moving by. 'This is a nice dream' Kyo thought till he looked over to see the underside of Icewaver's chin. He soon realized that he wasn't dreaming but was actually being carried but his wolf.

Icewaver looked down with a smile when he felt his human started to move around in his arms. "Morning pup." He said before he bent down and licked the side of the human's cheek.

Kyo blushed while he wrapped his arms around the wolf tightly. "Why are you carrying me master?" Kyo asked.

Icewaver let out a small chuckle. "Well if you would have woken up when I tried to get you up then you would be walking beside me, however since you seem to sleep through anything, I decided to carry you so we can get home quickly."

Kyo chuckled. "You think I can start walking on my own now?"

"Nope." Icewaver said without a hesitation.

All Kyo could do was shake his head, lean against his muscular wolf, and enjoy the ride. Kyo was starting to feel a tad bit embarrassed when he looked over to see other wolves staring at him with a smile. Even though he knew he would get the attention of the other wolves since he was with the alpha's son, he still wasn't used to it. It wasn't till late in the day that Icewaver finally let Kyo walk on his own, but only for a little till they stopped for the day and set up camp. The wolf told Kyo that it might take them five days at the pace that they were travailing to make it back to the palace since they weren't in a hurry. Kyo didn't mind as long as he was with his wolf the whole way there. The rest of the travel Icewaver and Kyo would talk about everything that had happen while they were apart, Kyo finding out that Icewaver was studying to become the new alpha when his father retires. The wolf looked down at the ground not really knowing what else to tell Kyo on the situation, the thought of him becoming alpha and the chance of not having his pup by his side scared him deeply.

Icewaver decided to hold off on that info but continued to tell his pup that Froshen was a little bigger but still a pup, his father was just as playful in his old age as ever, but his mother still keeps him in line. Kyo smiled at the news that Icewaver's family was doing just fine. Kyo told Icewaver that his use of a bow had improved from hunting more than he was used to, and one of the villagers that didn't mind him being with a male wolf had started to teach him how to do hand to hand combat with daggers.

"That's good but I'm still going to keep you safe though." The wolf said as he hugged his human while the two continued to walk.

Kyo smiled up at his wolf who smiled back down at him. Kyo looked back in front of him to see where he was walking caught the glimpse of the gold trim armor of the captain of the bear clan walking with the troops, he noticed the bear had been down the whole time and was probably beating himself up about everything that has happen.

"Master I'll be right back." Kyo said.

Icewaver knew where Kyo was going from who he was just looking at a moment ago, the wolf gave a warning glare but nodded. Kyo looked at the bear and let out a heavy sigh before running up to the captain. Once close enough the human started to walk at the same pace but not looking up at the bear.

The captain looked down to the human that stood just below his shoulders, Kyo looked up at him and saw a distant look of hurt in the bear's eyes. "Go ahead." The captain said. "I know you want to yell at me more. I deserve it."

Icewaver was close enough that he can hear the two, he sensed the tension in the air while Kyo didn't respond to the bear right away.

"You came to my village and killed everyone without a second though." Kyo said harshly, the bear laid his ears flat while moving his gaze to the ground. "We didn't even do anything to you, our village was already trying to recover from what the wolves did to it before I became a slave but at least they left the children and women alone. You though killed everyone without mercy."

Kyo let out another sigh but lowered his voice a little "But against how I feel at the moment I guess I forgive you."

The bear instantly looked up at the human. "You do?"

Kyo gave a small nod. "Yes, even though you have done a horrible thing. You were being tricked, blood drunk but you also have brought me back to my wolf. In a way I think you and I am going through the same situation."

"What do you mean?" The bear asked.

Kyo looked around to the few solders that were left under the captain's command. "You lost almost everyone that you were in charge of didn't you?"

A tear started to roll down the bear's cheek while he nodded. "Because of my poor judgement, I killed them. Almost all my men." The bear's walk slowed down to the point he was almost standing still.

"That's partially the reason why I'm forgiving you. You lost close ones also, but giving blaming yourself for what I lost isn't going to help your situation."

"What will you do though, because of me you lost your home." The bear asked.

Kyo looked up towards the sky while he thought about the bear's question. "Guess I'll start my life over again with Icewaver," The human looked back to the bear with a small smile, "but that doesn't sound too bad though.

The bear still didn't know why the human was forgiving him for taking everything away that the human known his whole life but he still was somewhat glade that the grudge the human had against him was slowly going away. Icewaver was still close by, he let out a sigh of relief when he realized that his human wasn't going to do any harm to the bear again. The rest of the trip seemed stress free between the two, even eating at the same fire while talking to each other.

It was in the afternoon on the fourth day of the trip that they arrived at the city limits of Frostfort. One of the wolves from a post they passed earlier must have told the news of their arrival because a massive group of wolves was waiting outside. The troops wasn't even within five hundred yards before the army started to break down as the men ran to the arms of their loved ones.

Icewaver glanced at Trimoph who was shaking his head, "Guess I won't get to tell anyone when muster would be tomorrow."

Icewaver smiled, "Yeah I guess not." He looked back to the bears that stood by them. "Let's go."

The wolf led the bears to the palace while the captain joined his men and celebrated their return. While walking through the city Kyo looked over to the captain and could tell they were feeling a bit nerviest, the human didn't know why till he looked around to see the wolves they passed was giving the small party glares or growls that told them that they were not welcome. Kyo moved closer to Icewaver and wrapped his arms around the wolf's.

"They don't like the bears do they?" Kyo said quietly.

Icewaver nodded. "Well word spreads fast, so when they all heard what the bears did to the posts to the south I wouldn't blame them."

They arrived to the gates of the palace shortly, Icewaver just walked throught he gates when his mother came out of nowhere and wrapped her arms tightly around her son, kissing him onto the cheek. Icewaver let out a groan as he glared at his mother.

"Do you have to act like this in public mother?" He asked as he looked back at the wolf.

His mother was about to respond till Kyo came into her sight, Shoving the wolf off to the side she ran up and hugged the human tightly while giving him a kiss on the cheek as well. "Welcome home pup." She said loudly.

Kyo didn't know what to say as he blushed from the wolf's attention.

"Wow, I see how much more you care about pup than your son." Icewaver chuckled.

His mother looked back to her soon with a big smile. "Son? Well from how much you've been bitching when he was gone I thought I had another daughter." Kyo and the bears all chuckled.

"Dose everyone think I was bitching." Icewaver growled, he slowly looked around and some of the guards was nodding. Icewaver just sighed in defeat and let it pass.

She let out a small chuckle. "But what it's worth," She stretched out he arm to bring her son closer to Kyo and herself, hugging the two at the same time. "I'm glad to have both my boys back home safely."

"What I want to know is what they are doing here." A loud deep voice came from behind them. Kyo didn't need to look to know whose voice that belonged to.

Just as the female wolf let go of her son, Galle came up and hugged Icewaver into a tight hug. "Glad you brought our pup back safely." He whispered into the wolf's ear. He walked up to the human after letting his son go and smiled down at Kyo. "What, don't I get a hug as well?" The wolf said, Kyo tried to hide his blushing as he slowly walked up to the big wolf and the two embraced into a hug.

Once they broke from one another, the alpha looked at the bears that stood uneasy. "Again, why are they here?"

Icewaver looked up at the captain and nodded, the bear slowly walked forward and bowed. "It's an honor to be in your presence my lord. I'm captain Nogra."

The alpha glared at him. "I'm sure. I want to know what's going through your king's mind when he decided to attack us." The wolf said while he crossed his arms.

The bear winced at the mention of their king. "Umm...My lord, our king was killed in a raid not too long ago." The captain stated while standing upwards.

Galle could see the hurt and truth in the bear's eyes as he looked back at him. "I'm sorry." The alpha said softly.

Icewaver walked up to his father. "It actually gets more complicated than that." His father looked at his son then back to the bear.

"Fine, put the captain up in a guess room of the palace but his men will stay in the troop's quarters at the barracks." Icewaver nodded and called for a guard, once the orders were relayed, the wolf lead the soldiers to the barracks that they will be staying for the next couple of days.

"I guess the information you have to tell is important," He motioned back to the palace, "Come."

It took the captain a little while but he eventually moved his feet, and followed the alpha into the palace. Icewaver and Kyo walked slowly with the female wolf as they too made their way into their home, Kyo looked all around to notice that not a single thing has changed while he was away. The smell thick with wolves, the constant movements of slaves, and the familiar yelling of a particular wolf made the human smile.

"Master I'm going to go say hi to a friend." the human said while looking up at his wolf.

Icewaver bent down and kissed him on the forehead. "Ok pup, but be careful."

Kyo nodded before he took off into the dining room. He peaked around the corner to see a tall black wolf yelling at a human for not getting the job done right.

"If you are going to work, do it right the first time or you'll stay here forever." The wolf growled.

The human nodded repeatedly before he dropped back onto his knees with a scrub brush in hand, cleaning the floor over again. Kyo let out a giggle before he walked up beside the wolf.

"You know it wasn't too long ago that you had me scrub these floors also." He said with a cheerful voice.

What he didn't expect happened as the wolf turned and quickly pulled the human into a tight hug. "Pup! Welcome home." The wolf almost yelled.

"Nice to see you again sir." Kyo responded as he pat the wolf on the back.

The wolf laughed while he pulled away and placed one of his paws onto the human's shoulder. "You're not a slave anymore, please just Dusk."

Kyo smiled up at the wolf. "I know but it just seems weird to me to call you all by names."

The wolf nodded. "I bet but if you want, I'll let you call me sir again if you help clean the palace."

"Umm..." Kyo gave the wolf a disgusted look. "No thanks, I think Dusk would be fine."

Dusk let out another laugh. "I'm glad you see it my way then pup, I would love to talk more but I'm really busy at the moment." The wolf said while pointing his thumb over his shoulder to indicate that he was talking about the slave. "New to the palace."

Kyo nodded. "Yeah well I have to get back to my master but go easy on the poor guy ok."

"Will do." Dusk said, Kyo gave the wolf one last hug before he walked out of the dining room. Wasn't seconds that he left till he heard yelling come from the room. "No, you have to use soap to get the floor clean dumb ass."

Kyo let out a sigh, 'that's not really being easy on him.' Kyo thought before he started to run up the stair case. His running turned to a slow walking when till he came the familiar door, slowly opening it and walked inside. He looked around and noticed that the room had been rearranged a little so that Icewaver's working desk now sat in front of the window and the couch was moved closer to the center of the room.

"My I help you?" A voice interrupted Kyo, the human looked to see a slave standing in the door way that he just entered.

Kyo shook his head. "No I'm just seeing how much this room has changed is all." He responded.

"Ok, but lord Icewaver is laying down in his room at the moment so I think you should go." The human said as he shoved past Kyo to take the clothes he was holding to the closet in the lounge part of the room.

Kyo walked over to the door that lead from the lounge to the bed room and slowly pushed the door open. He poked his head inside and smiled when he saw his wolf spread out a crossed the bed, lying on his stomach. Kyo was just about to enter the room till he was yanked backwards.

"What do you think you're doing?" The slave asked in a harsh tone.

Kyo looked back at the wolf threw the partially opened door. "I'm going to go lay down with my master."

"Excuse me, your master?" The human asked while crossing his arms. "I don't know who you are but even though I'm just here to clean up his room and all. I'm his only slave and the only one that can call him master," The human poked Kyo on the chest with his finger. "Got it."

Kyo started to get irritated with this slave, he opened up his mouth to say something back but was again interrupted but by someone he didn't mind. "Pup, is that you?" The voice came from the room.

"Yes master." Kyo yelled back, the slave stood confused while they both heard the wolf get up and moved to the door, Icewaver opened it up all the way and smiled.

"I see you haven't lost your way back here." The wolf said.

Kyo quickly hugged his wolf tightly. "It came back to me naturally."

Icewaver wrapped his arms around Kyo and looked up to the slave that stood before him, who still had a confused look on his face. "Shine, this is my pup." Icewaver said as he ran his fingers threw the human's hair. "Even though he is human, he is not a slave and he also has authority over you. Do as your told and you'll stay, if not I'll turn you back to Dusk."

Shine's mouth hung open in disbelief but was managed to mumble. "Yes my lord."

Icewaver nodded before turning his pup around and motioned him into the bed room, closing the door behind him. The two both fell onto the bed and cuddled up closely to each other, Kyo resting his head on the wolf's chest while Icewaver had his arms wrapped tightly around the Kyo. Icewaver bending down and licked the human's cheek. "Welcome home." He said softly, the two closed their eyes to try and get some rest before dinner, Kyo hopping that it doesn't come to fast.
