Martin was jolted awake as the school bus screeched to a stop in front of the high school. It was the first time the otter had to ride the filthy bus in quite a while. Jaclyn has spent the night at one of her college friend's house; which left him with two choices: walk to school or ride the bus. Martin of course took the easier of the two, as he was still half-asleep in the morning. As the otter stood up, he heard his name be shouted form a few seats behind him. Looking back; he could see his friend Matt pulling his way to were the otter was. "Hey, I didn't know that you rode this bus." The fox called, pulling himself right beside Martin.

Martin chuckled as he pushed himself out in front of his younger friend. "I used to ride this bus all the time until my sister got her car. The only reason why I'm riding today is because she wasn't home this morning. What about you? Did you and your parents move to a different part of town? I know you didn't ride this bus before."

The otter jumped out of the bus as his friend replied to the question. "Yeah, last year, the house we were living it was a piece of crap," Matt jumped out of the bus after Martin and landed on his back which caused the two of them to topple over. "Oh yeah, what lunch shift do you have. I can't seem to find anyone who has second shift with me."

Being the smaller and faster of the two, Martin easily got off the ground faster that his fox friend. He waited for his friend to get to his feet and looking at him before the otter nodded his head in response to his friend's question. The two friends chuckled happily looking at how stupid some of the so-called popular kids were being. "Hang on a second, why aren't you riding with your sister Amie? Is she sick today or something?" Martin asked pausing at the bottom of the steps that lead up to the school.

Matthew stopped besides the otter and wrapped one arm around Martin's neck. "I'm gonna be straight forward with you. Amie almost got into a crash yesterday on the way home from school. A day not riding with her will do me good mentally. I can bet that you would do the same if you were in my shoes. Also don't tell anyone, Amie would get very pissed at me if anyone were to find out."

"You don't have to worry, my mouth will be sealed, but yes you are right my friend. If Jaclyn were to get into a crash or really get into a crash, I would stop riding with her for a bit. That is if my parents didn't find out about it, because if they did find out there would be no questions asked; I would be riding the bus for the rest of my time in high school" Martin responded while shrugging the fox's arm off his shoulders.

After a few moments of silence, the two burst out into laughter again over Martin's comment. The two continued to laugh at random jokes that one of them would make as they entered the school and made their way to Matt's locker. On the way there they ran into some of Matt's friends; two of them Martin could not recognize, but he did recognize a female dalmatian that he saw in his creative writing class last week. He didn't speak to her last week, but the unique pattern of splotches on her face was easy to remember.

After rambling with the other three, Matt turned back around toward the otter. "Oh Martin, these are Zack, Sara, and Trinity," The fox said pointing to a cheetah, then to a hippy-looking mouse, and finally towards the dalmation as he named off his friends. "Um, I'd love to stay and chat, but I need to talk with these guys. I promise I'll make it up to you later."

Martin smiled back at his friend before making a clam, but took a fast retreat from the small group of sophomores. As soon as he got near Matt's friends; he realized that the cheetah reeked of the smell of pot. He could easily guess that the mouse was also a pot smoker. Though he had no problem with people who smoked it, the smell of weed really bothered the small otter and agitated his asthma.

As he was about to turn the corner to head for his locker, Martin felt a tap on his left shoulder. Turning around, he found himself face-to-face with the she-dog. "Do you mind if I walk with you for a bit?" Trinity asked walking up beside Martin.

"Sure, but why aren't up back there with Matt and the other two?"

"I really hate it when they talk about weed, but ya could tell they smoked it couldn't ya." Trinity said as they turned around the corner.

Martin laughed at how right the dalmation was. "If I may ask; how did you meet those three if you don't like pot?" The otter asked unlocking his locker.

"Well, I've known Sara since kindergarten. We've been really close friend ever since, I've beat up a couple of people in our grade protecting her. I meet Matt through Zack. I walked in on those two having sex with each other, quick way to meet someone new. As for Zack, well, my parents adopted him after both of his parents died in a car crash five years ago. My dad and his were very close-friends," Trinity looked back around the corner at the three in question who were walking towards the science hallway. "And please don't talk to Zack about his biological parents; it's still a touchy topic for him."

"You don't have to worry about it. I'll pretend like I haven't the slightest idea about it." Martin reassured Trinity as he closed his locker and started walking towards the library. "You want to continue to talk?"

"Nah, I need to make sure those three don't get into any trouble, but I'll talk to you later in class okay."

Waving goodbye to the dalmation, Martin turned around and headed for the library to check in there for any of his friends. "Hmm, I bet Bryan is over in the weight room." The otter thought seeing none of his friend in the library.

Quickly heading out of the library, Martin walked to the weight room. As he got closer to the athletic area, the otter's nose began to twitch uncontrollably. There were two reasons for this; the first being he didn't like the overpowering smell of sweaty men and it helped him from getting an erection from the manly musk. The otter frowned in disappointment that neither Bryan nor his sister was in the dull-looking room.

"Well, well, well, is the little otter gonna start working out?"

Martin squeaked in shock as a large, thick paw landed onto his shoulder at the same moment as the voice came from behind him. The otter didn't have to turn around to tell that it was Taylor Portor who was behind him. "No I... I was.... Um do you know were Jen and Bryan are?" Martin said stuttering out his reply, turning around to face the bear.

"No, but try in the computer lab," Taylor replied not taking his eyes off the otter as he walked as Martin walked away from the athletic area. "You know you have no reason to be afraid of me."

"Bullshit! You and Dillion assaulted me last year." Martin snapped furiously as he spun around to face the massive bear. The otter's paws were clenched into a tight ball and his tail was thrashing out of anger.

Taylor chuckled at the spite and fire that the otter was showing. "You don't remember that day, do you? I did nothing to you that day when Dillion attacked you," Martin almost started to yell at the bear until one of his massive paws covered the otter's mouth. "The only reason why you saw me there was to get my brother off of you. Your eyes were swollen quite awfully bad, which could have made you think I was also hurting you."

"But, you and Dillion were kicked out of school from the same amount of time." The otter said confused by what the bear was telling him.

"Mr. Polone wanted me to keep an eye on Dillion to make sure he didn't do anything stupid. Luckily, I was able to convince him to leave you alone for the rest of the year. I almost forgot about the whole situation until Bryan confronted me about it back in December." Taylor paused for a few seconds as Martin face to shock at the last part that the bear had said. "I don't know what you mean to him, but he was furious. Almost busted my forehead straight open. The only reason why he didn't was because I told him the truth and promised to tell you." The large bear patted the otter on the shoulder before heading back around and walked into the gym.

Martin stared dumbstruck at the opening to the gym, before heading back towards the commons. Taking a sharp turn around the corner, Martin collided face-first into Bryan's broad chest. The otter rubbed his nose as the wolf yanked him off the ground. Martin blushed brightly as the wolf began to check out different parts of Martin's body. "Are you alright Bryan?" Martin asked which made the wolf stop dead in his tracks.

"I think you are the one who's not alright. Just about everyone down there doesn't like you," The wolf started to growl while staring down at his small friend. "What were you thinking?"

"I um... was trying to find you. Do you think I can come up to your house after school day? I just really want to spend some time away from home and I need to ask you a few questions." Martin asked shyly. The otter turned his head away from the wolf to keep him from seeing him blush.

Bryan smiled patting his friend on the shoulder. "Sure, that would be alright. Head out to my car after school and I'll meet you there." Bryan chuckled turning the otter's face back towards his, catching him blush. "I'm heading up to my class, see you at lunch."

Martin waved goodbye to the wolf before heading to his locker to get ready for his first class. While Martin wanted to know why Bryan was so quick to attack Taylor, he felt like it was better and safe to ask the wolf away from a large group of people.

Sorry it took so long to upload, I've spent the past two weeks playing Starcraft 2. Now that I've beat the campaign mode the chapters should come a lot easier. Also I have a new story idea that I'm currently writing out. Once I got the first part of it wrote, I'm going to get it on here and would like some feedback since it will be the first time that I have more extreme situations.

Anyways hope you all liked the chapter.
