THYME AFTER TIME - part 06

Cinnamon strained against the tentacles as they continued their gentle, yet persistent attack. She was exhausted; having lost count of how many times and how many ways she had cum. She had tried teleporting, but with her vision cut off by the thick tentacle wrapped around her head she couldn't judge distance or how much power she needed to use. Right now, more than anything, she just wanted to sleep.

She didn't see the doorway to her pocked dimension open, but she felt a sudden change to the muggy, stagnant air that surrounded her.

"Come to fracking' gloat, haven't you, ya &*$$@(#)?!!! collie! When I get outta here I'm gon'na rip your tail out by the roots and ram it up your &@&@%^........"

"Is that any way for a lady to talk?" asked a voice.

"Horn Dog?"

"In the fur, and don't call me Horn Dog!"

"GET ME THE FRACK OUTTA HERE!"

"Okay, calm down and give me a second." The chimera flapped his wings, hovering above the swampy morass looking for a way to free the green-furred unicorn. When a particularly long, thick, slimy tentacle reached up for him he responded by blasting it with a bolt of lightning from his horn. The results were spectacular to say the least.

The entire swamp seemed to heave upward, tentacles flaying wildly in every direction. Searching for someway to defend itself, the massive creature hurled the first thing it could think of at Cyanide, which of course happened to be Cinnamon. He caught her with a wet, sickly splat as glop flew in all directions. She was so thoroughly covered in slime it was difficult to hold onto the unicorn, but he managed by wrapping both his arms and legs around her.

Cinnamon hung limply, stunned by the same lightning bolt he had hurled at the creature. Holding her, he maneuvered back through the portal and set her down on the floor of the guest room they'd been using. Aiming the control rod, Cyanide quickly closed the gateway.

Picking up the unicorn girl, he carried her into the bathroom. Spotting a shower, he placed her in the tiled floor and turned the cold water on full before stepping out himself and closing the door. There several moments of silence, then Cinnamon woke up.

"SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!"

"You okay?" the chimera asked from outside the cubical. She answered him by stepping out of the shower and punching him in the arm.

"Next time, turn on the hot water too," she grumbled, leaning up to kiss him on the mouth, even as water dripped off her muzzle.

"Why don't you finish cleaning up here while I go get the others."

"Anything you say, Horn Dog."

The chimera sighed as he went back into the bedroom and pointed the controller at the second sphere. It quickly expanded into another gateway.

Cyanide quickly flew through the portal and found himself standing in a large field of single stalked plants. Each one towered fifty or sixty feet above and from the end of each plant, bowing it over, was what looked like a large cocoon-like pod. The bases of some of these pods were open. Feelers reached all the way to the ground and seemed to be probing the landscape as if looking for something. As the chimera watched he saw the feelers wrap themselves around a small, unsuspecting rodent. There was a brief struggle before it was pulled up into the cocoon.

Worried, Cyanide launched himself into the air and began scanning the area. He knew Clover had been sharing the room with Cinnamon, so he looked for a pod large enough to hold the pony girl. He knew she couldn't be too far from the portal and he quickly found three likely plants within the immediate area.

Flying over to the first, he tried cutting through the fibrous cocoon with his horn, only to discover that as fast as he cut, the plant seemed to heal itself. To make matters worse, one of the two large leaves sprouting off the main stalk took a swipe at him as if he were some kind of annoying bug. It connected, knocking him to the ground.

The chimera snorted in anger and threw a roundhouse punch at the base of the plant. It squealed in pain. There was a little puff of gas and the pod spat out a diminutive foxtaur, about four and a half feet in length. The creature landed on the ground with a thump, picked itself up and staggered off, barely avoiding the tendrils of several other plants nearby before vanishing from sight.

The plant then wrapped several of its feelers around the pony and tried to lift him up into the cocoon. He responded by hurling a lightning bolt up the tendrils and into the plant. It immediately burst into flames, consuming itself in only a few short seconds. Cyanide dropped to the ground, dodging away from the flaming remains as they collapsed around him. All the plants surrounding him abruptly spat out whoever or whatever they had in their pods, pull themselves out of the ground and scurried off on long, root-like feet. Like the foxtaur, some of the creatures staggered away while others lay quietly, never to move again.

Cyanide heard a small soft groan and turned to see a blue-furred pony, sitting up and rubbing her temples. "CLOVER?"

"Ouch! Don't yell so loud," she whispered softly. "I've got a Class A hangover and I'm thirsty as hell."

"Probably dehydrated." The chimera replied, keeping his voice low. "I'm guessing these plant things draw moisture and vital fluids from their prey in order to survive."

"Yeah... vital fluids... right!"

He reached an arm around the pony girl. "Just hang onto me. I'll get you back to the Maestro's ship." Despite her pounding headache, Clover reached around Cyanide's shoulder and clung to him as he flew them back through the portal.

The android pony made a grab for the Professor as he ducked and circled around to her left. "Damn you... give it back. Give it back-ack-ack-ack-ack right NOW!" she cursed. She whirled around to face him once more. "Le'go! Le'go!"

The Professor raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Let go of what?"

"Not you, you stu-stu-stu-stu-pid meat, meat, meat bag!" the pony spat. "Him! Sherman! He's hack-ack-acked my motor c-c-c-c-control matrix."

The android swung her bladed forearm at the Professor and would have connected with it had the weapon not suddenly retracted once more into her body. "HAH! Didn't think of that you pi-pi-pi-pile of vacuum tubes!" A look of distress crossed the pony's face as her gaze returned to the Professor. "Help.... I, I, I, I'mmmmmm fighting him for control, but there aren't e-e-e-e-enough firewalls on my old op-op-operating system."

An idea flashed through the Professor's mind. Backing quickly away from the android pony he pointed his wand at the heap of sand that had come through with him from the Guardian's world.

"Zephyr!"

A miniature tornado about a foot high suddenly materialized and began rapidly spreading the sand all over the place. When it dissipated moments later the room was a mess. Tintinabula suddenly halted her attack and froze in place.

Sherman's voice suddenly filled the air. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING... DON"T STOP. KILL HIM. DESTROY HIM. DESTROY... WHAT, NO WAIT... NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-no-no-no-no-n-n-n-n-n-*-*-*-*-*-*-!!!!!"

The android pony shuddered slightly for several seconds, then her eyes shifted color from red to their normal amber. She looked around, dismayed by what she saw. "Oh, my... What a mess! I'm going to have to clean this up right now!" She suddenly stopped, her eyebrows arching in confusion. "No I'm not... This isn't our house."

"Cymbalaria?" the Professor asked.

"I'm back," the pony sighed in relief. "What just happened?"

"Your modified core program and system patches kicked in, pulling you out of safe mode and, apparently, sending whatever virus was implanted in your motor control running for cover."

"Let me guess," she said smiling, "Mad maid mode?"

The Professor nodded. "From the way he reacted, I think one or more of your program patches must have gotten into Sherman's operating system. It may keep him busy for a while. Long enough for us to find a weakness."

"How do we do that? I was almost fried last time I accessed Sherman's data storage system."

"I think we can access his systems in an rather unconventional way."

"How?"

"By using a combination of spells," the Professor explained, "I can actually transport us physically into the virtual reality matrix that makes up Sherman's holographic memory core. That should make us immune to any number of possible types of attack, including viral."

"What about our size differential? Moreover, how would we get out?"

"I can rig the spell to handle our size difference. As for getting out, I can put a time limit on it so that at a prescribed moment, we reappear back here."

"Sounds more than a little like hocus-pocus ex-machina," Cymbalaria observed dryly.

The Professor gave her a sideways glance. "Since when did you start developing a sense of humor?"

The android shrugged. "Hanging out with you guys..." The Professor raised a single eyebrow. "Well, it's contagious," she explained.

The two quickly set to work. Cymbalaria pulled up a section of the carpet in the bedroom so the Professor could trace out a circle of power on the floor. He duplicated a smaller version of the same circle on Sherman's control board. He took out several vials of liquid, which he quickly, but carefully, mixed together before pouring it onto the edge of both circles. The entire design began to glow with a blue iridescence. Taking the pony by the hand, he led her into the circle, held his wand above their heads, took a deep breath and sneezed. There was a bright flash and the two figures vanished from sight.

Cassia was barely able to keep her head above the sea of white "pebbles" that gripped her. For the last several hours they had slowly, inexorably been drawing her down, deeper and deeper into their mass. The whole while they had been massaging her, inside and out, weakening her with hours of orgasmic bliss, leaving her with barely enough strength to keep from being pulled completely under. She wasn't certain what would happen if they pulled her under, but she didn't like the prospects.

There was a sudden shimmering in the air above and in front of her. A portal opened and Cyanide stuck his head into the strange world.

"Need a hand?" he asked, spotting the pink-furred pony.

"Definitely... and you need to hurry, they're trying to drag me down."

"They?"

"These pebble thingies. My arms are trapped. I don't have enough leverage to even punch them and they're immune to my vision blast. I think they're bound together somehow."

"Probably some kind of electro-kinetic field." the chimera mused. "Hang on, I've got an idea." He hovered over Cassia for a moment or two, and then began to spin rapidly in place. Within a few moments he had created a small tornado, which began to scythe through the pebbles with devastating effect. Both pebbles and pink pegasus were yanked free of the surface and separated from each other by the centrifugal force being generated,

Cyanide stopped spinning and grabbed Cassia's hand. The two ponies clung to each other, both lightheaded from the spinning. Once the world stopped turning around them, they both flew through the gateway back to the maestro's ship. Landing, the chimera used the Maestro's control device to shut down the portal then led Cassia across the hall to where both Cinnamon and Clover were waiting.

"That was quick," the green-furred unicorn observed on seeing them." Both she and Clover had torn up the bed sheets in order to create some temporary clothing. They both looked toward Cassia. "So what's the plan fearless leader?" Cinnamon asked as she wound a length of cloth around her breasts. .

Instead of answering, the pegasus clutched at her stomach. "Hold that thought," she mumbled. "I'll be back in a moment." She practically ran into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

"What's with her?" Clover asked.

"Something that tried to eat her didn't agree with her, I guess," replied Cyanide.

Cassia emerged several minutes later, heaving a relieved sigh then joined the others in trying on the ad hoc clothing.

"Where's Cymbalaria?" Cinnamon asked. "I thought she was sucked into one of those pocket dimensions along with the rest of us."

Cyanide shook his head. "I checked the dimensional door that should have taken her," he said, "but all I found was this." He held up a small holographic projector. "Before separating I suggested that if she had a chance, she should try to find some way to access the computer and find out what all this is really about."

"Then that's where she must be right now," Cassia said.

"Isn't that risky?" Clover asked. "What if the Maestro should find her?"

"Not to worry," the chimera replied. "I've been sorta keeping her... uh, busy for the last several hours."

"Busy?" the pegasus inquired. "How?"

"Well, I've kinda, sorta got her tied up in my room at the moment." There was a long silence as the ponies looked at him and the inside of his ears blushed, then Cinnamon laughed, punching him roughly in the shoulder.

"Didn't know you were into kink, Horn Dog."

"I'm not! And don't call me Horn Dog."

"Fine," said Cassia, "but it still begs the question... Where is Cymbalaria?"

The black and white furred chimera just shook his head. "All I know is that Sherman set off a security alert at the same time I was tying up the Maestro. I took a control device from her and came here looking for you guys. Fortunately, I recognized what those spheres floating in you rooms were and guessed you'd been shipped off somewhere to keep you out of the Maestro's plans."

"Well, thanks for the rescue and all," said Cinnamon, "but what are we going to do now?"

"I think what we should do is collect the Maestro and start searching for Cymbalaria ourselves, Cassia offered. She may have accessed Sherman by now and will probably know a way off this ping-pong ball."

"Right," nodded Cyanide, pressing the control pad and opening the door to the room. "I'll go get the Maestro..." He suddenly froze as he found himself muzzle to muzzle with a bazooka-sized weapon.

"You are not going anyvhere," growled the figure holding the weapon.

All four of the ponies stared. The Border collie confronting them looked very much like the Maestro, matching her in size, shape, fur pattern and eye color. However, her hair was long, straight and milky-white instead of a mass of black curls. She was also dressed differently, wearing a long, black Prince Albert coat; a pair of dark colored trousers and vest over a high-collared, white shirt complete with a black cravat. Her shoes were a black, leather, high top, button down style straight out of the 1890's

"Now, dink fery carefully, vhich one of you has de control key?" the collie asked.

"Control key?" Cyanide responded, "What control key? What does it look like?"

"To not play games vid me." She focused her attention on the chimera. "You vere de only one vid an opportunity to take it. I vant it back, IMMETIATELY!"

Cinnamon looked at her two sisters. "Is it just me, or does she sound funnier than the last time she talked to us?"

"Be QUIET!" she threatened, "or I vill blov your little stut pony's face all ofer dis room."

"Stut? What the hell's a stut?" asked Cyanide.

"I think she means stud, Horn Dog, " the green-furred unicorn offered.

"Please don't call me Horn Dog! At least not in front of the crazy-ass bitch villain with the cannon,"

"SILENCE!" the collie shouted, punctuating her order by loudly chambering a round.

"Okay, okay," Cyanide said calmly holding out his hand with the control device in it. "No need to get upset. You want your property back, you can have it."

She smiled wickedly. "Nov, at least you are dinking. I to not neet to kill you if you just stay in dis room and to not interfere vid my plans."

The collie reached her hand out to take the device. In that instant the chimera focused his energies and the control pad vanished in a puff of smoke. It reappeared above her head, bopping her lightly on the noggin.

"Vat...?"

In the blink of an eye Clover shot across the room, taking advantage of the Maestro's distraction and decking the collie with a super-speed punch, beating Cyanide by a good two-tenths of a second.

"Hey. I wanted to do that," the male pony complained.

"No you didn't," the blue-furred pony said. "Boys aren't supposed to hit girls."

"Yeah," added Cinnamon. "You're only allowed to bonk 'em."

Cassia and Clover glared briefly at the unicorn while Cyanide collected the unconscious collie's weapon, searched her, then tied her up using left-over strips of bed sheets. From her pockets he collected a second control device that looked like a pen but had the same four buttons, a small notebook and what looked like a pocket watch.

He picked the Maestro up and carried her across the passageway to his guest room, the girls following. As he suspected, when he opened the door he found the first Maestro lying quietly on the bed, still bound tightly in place with her eyes closed. Both collies were breathing slowly and when Cyanide checked he found their pupils were dilated.

Cassia, Clover and Cinnamon all looked over his shoulder and stared at the two Maestros. "What the hell's going on?" muttered the unicorn girl.

Instead of answering, the chimera gently rolled the second Maestro over onto her side and checked the back of her neck. Sure enough, there was an implant located in the identical place as the first Maestro. Cyanide stepped back for a moment to consider.

"They're not... not... dead, are they?" whispered Clover.

The male pony shook his head. "I think they're in some kind of sleep suspension."

"Why?" asked Cassia.

"I haven't the faintest idea," Cyanide responded, "but I bet Sherman does."

"Then we better go ask him," Cinnamon said, "And if he doesn't want to talk, I say we drop kick him into the next dimension."

"We want to be careful about breaking anything around here," the pink pegasus cautioned the others. "There's no telling what would happen if we destroyed something vital."

"What about punching out the bad guys," Cinnamon asked.

"If we do meet any bad guys, let's look first and punch later," Cassia said.

"Aw!" You're no fun at a party," the unicorn-girl complained.

"What about them?" asked Clover, pointing to the two collies.

"Let's leave them here for right now, replied Cyanide. "Without their control devices and tied up they shouldn't be a problem.

"That's what you thought about Maestro, numero uno over there, " Cinnamon pointed out. "Maybe we should dump them in one of their own pocket dimensions."

The chimera shook his head. "We wouldn't have any idea as to whether or not they'd stay put there. They're both Chrono-Maestros after all; I think." He gestured toward the door. "Come on, we've got a lot of looking to do if we want to find Cymbalaria." They all followed Cyanide down the passageway, though Cinnamon paused long enough to retrieve the Maestro's weapon from the first room.
