david's college days part thirty

long ago David had brought a computer desk and after a few returns for broken bits or missing bits he got it up, but all it did was sit in the corner getting bits that go in the caravan like the Carboot stuff or bit of old paper and other things, the desk was now full of bit and pieces until one day.

David had found a computer in the skip, but was it good or was it a dud? There was only one way to find out, he placed on the table and set about clearing the computer table removing all the stuff ready for the computer.

David and Sarah set about cleaning/clearing the desk, it was nice little desk as it had a big top on it for the computer and monitor plus just enough space for a printer at the side plus some shelves on the bottom for the scanner and other stuff like fax or phone or internet box but they weren't going to have them.

After a long clean and finding stuff they had lost years ago or couldn't find or they knew they had the bit for but couldn't find, it was time to carnet the computer up and see what it had on it or if it would start at all and what was on it.

Plugging every thing in to where it should be was easy the cables had come from David's dad's friend in a computer shop, firing it up; it started and ran normal with no error commands or any passwords needed and it was nice and quite not load or nosey.

David was in luck it was windows XP home edition and it had a lot on it, mostly junk and other people's work but David soon removed all of this and set about looking at what it had, this was seeing what the hard drive was and stuff it was simple it had a CD-RW and DVD-ROM.

It had nothing good on it, just the basics like windows player, and internet, and to add damage it only had a perfect four gig hard drive, and it was going to get up graded, so David got a bigger hard drive and put it in and was soon putting programs on like a printer and the scanner and even a internet connection, soon it looked like a computer with a big 50 GB hard drive.

After a while David and Sarah were both using the computer, for working and learning new stuff on it, soon it was well and truly up and running, so now David and Sarah knew what to do they would restart the retro shop.

Remember the retro shop? (Read part thirteen) well now David and Sarah set it up again but online! And it was a lot better and had a lot more hits then the shop seeing as orders were coming in fast and quick.

They were now photoing stuff and then putting it online to sell not Amazon but there own shop if you wanted something like a CD then it would automate go to the retro shop.

After a couple of weeks the shop online was going good but then one day disaster, the computer crashed and would not reload or any thing, the phone lines were going mad and it was bad they sent emails on a different computer to people saying closed with a problem.

After a long wait at the computer shop the computer was fixed the one program David had forgotten to put on was AGV the virus detour, boy was this virus big the computer was just able to work out how to stop it by not switching on or if it did then it would not let David on the internet, at the shop they installed the AGV program and it would need to be updated in a couple of years like all programs but at least it worked.

After this David and Sarah was careful what people to let on the site before logging in to buy stuff the AGV came up and would do a scan of the user it would be free and was just in case they had a virus even they didn't know or it was a junk email that would cupped the computer.

If it did find something it would kill it and would tell David about it and he would tell the buyer and the buyer would get it fixed so it might just be a simple problem and it would be fixed easy.

After about a week the computer was doing fine no problem or anything and the site was going good as well, but it all went wrong after a mouth of selling stuff they had run out of stuff to sell like CD's DVD's and cassettes it was all gone, other then the brick a brack but they could only sell that stuff on eBay and seeing as the skips where dry that mouth there were no more CD's DVD's cassette or even video's.

All cassettes and CD's and freebie DVD's were all sold and they had to shut the site down only unless they got more stock but soon they shut the whole site down seeing as it was too much to run but at least this time they weren't poor or out of a job or even house.

Soon the computer was getting used less and less it was no good restarting the company seeing as they had no stock or little stock so they only used it to check there emails and of course go on there favourite website sofurry and just right up stuff like what cassettes they had so they wouldn't get mixed up and to store they pictures on it or just to write up a letter and to talk to other people on the net.

After a while the computer was getting more and more less used only ever being used for looking at stuff and righting out stuff like what was next to be cleaned or a day list of things to do or the shopping list but other then that not a lot happened with it soon it was left to collect dust like the rest of stuff in David and Sarah's place but they still used it when they needed to look at there emails and the pictures they had taken and look at there kind of sites like sofurry and Ebay plus some other sites that were good too.
