Hey everyone! I haven't forgotten about the story!

I know, it's been a whole year, but that's because I had a lot of trouble with writing this one. And with everything else happening in the world, it just gave me added stress. But it's finally here!

I won't keep y'all any longer. On with the story!

Chapter 9: The Dinosaur Big City

It had been only a few days since Mr. Conductor left the train to take his break. Since then, his mood has definitely improved. He seems more chipper, and happy. Much like his old self. However, he still needed some time away. He still worried about the train too, always trying to find _any _excuse to ride it. And when Nathan and Mr. Conductor did ride it. He'd sometimes try to conduct out of habit. Nearly calling the time tunnel, or getting up to punch tickets. Nathan always stopped him from doing that though, reminding him that he was just a passenger.

Currently they were back at home, Mr. Conductor was pacing back and forth in deep thought. Nathan was just watching him go back and forth as he rubbed his chin.

"Mr. Conductor? What are you doing?" Nathan asked, tilting his head a little at the scene.

"Nothing really, I'm just thinking." He said.

"About what?"

"Well, about where we could go today is all! Oh! I hear Giganotosaurus Junction is nice around this time! We can just go on the train and-" Nathan cut Mr. Conductor off.

"Is this just so you have an excuse to ride the train?" He asked. Mr. Conductor immediately shook his head.

"N-No! Of course not! I just thought it'd be... Y'know, nice! You and I, going off on an adventure, learning about dinosaurs. Doesn't that sound fun?!" He said in a slightly panicked tone. Nathan sighed a little, Mr. Conductor really needs to stay away from the train. He didn't really wanna have to say this, but it's gotten to that point...

"I'm tired of riding the train, Mr. Conductor!" Nathan exclaimed, stomping his foot. Mr. Conductor gasped and put a hand to his chest, as if he was just shot or something. Wow, dramatic much? _Nathan thought to himself. "I love the train, I do! But we can't just keep ridng it! I wanna spend time with you here! And you need a REAL break from the train, because I can tell you're still always stressing out about it, and that's not good!" Nathan was going on a small tangent without even realizing. "You need to ACTUALLY relax!" Mr. Conductor looked dumbfounded by what Nathan was saying. Oh geez, I hope I wasn't too harsh. _Nathan thought to himself. He's never raised his voice at anyone before, not even a little. "I'm sorry..." He apologized, rubbing his arm guiltily.

Mr. Conductor shook his head and panicked a little. "No no! It's fine Nathan! I honestly needed to hear that..." He said, kneeling down and putting his hands on the young troodon's shoulders. "You're right... We've been riding the train a lot when I should be taking a break... Why don't you pick what we do today?" He offered, smiling softly.

"Well..." Nathan rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Maybe we can just have some quiet time?" He suggested. "Y'know, sitting on the couch or outside, and relaxing?"

Mr. Conductor was a little taken aback by Nathan's suggestion. He was three, yet he was suggesting quiet time. And kids; especially rowdy ones, never like sitting still and being quiet. Regardless, he smiled and nodded. Maybe some quiet time will be good for me... He thought to himself. "Alright, that sounds fine." Mr. Conductor said as he led Nathan to the couch, sitting down and ushering the young troodon to sit next to him. Which he did. Once Nathan sat down, he scooched up close and snuggled into Mr. Conductor's side. The older troodon was rather shocked by this, but smiled and left the young one be. _This is... Nice... _Mr. Conductor thought, he didn't fully understand why, but he felt... Fulfilled, content... Happy... These were the same feelings he always felt on the Dinosaur Train...

Not that he still didn't feel that way when on the train. He still really loved conducting. But lately, he's been nothing be stressed, so finally feeling like this again was refreshing...

Meanwhile, Nathan felt extremely happy and carefree, and he loved it. He hadn't truly felt like this in years. And now here he is, enjoying himself for once. It almost made him forget about the decision he has to make.

Keyword almost. It was still nagging him in the back of his mind. He knew he'd have to choose between prehistoric times, and his old life, and that just made him stressed. He wasn't panicking like usual though, no doubt thanks to Mr. Conductor, his presence alone was rather warm and calming, so it definitely helped.

"Hey, Mr. Conductor?" Nathan called out. The older troodon looked over in curiosity. "What are the rest of the dinosaurs in the Dinosaurs A-Z?" He asked. Mr. Conductor's eyes lit up slightly and he smiled

"Well, I'll be happy to tell ya, Nathan!" Mr. Conductor exclaimed in excitement before beginning to explain the rest of the dinosaurs species in the Dinosaurs A-Z. And each species he said, Nathan would say back, though he did struggle with pronouncing their names every now and then.

"Now that you know each species, you gonna try and memorize em?" Mr. Conductor asked. To which Nathan replied with a proud nod.

"And then we can sing the song together!" He exclaimed.

Mr. Conductor laughed and rubbed the young ones head. "Of course! Why wouldn't we do that?" He said, sounding like his usual enthusiastic self. Though out of nowhere he suddenly went silent, pondering something. "...Hey, Nathan. You've never actually told me when your birthday is." He said, having a small revelation as he realized that.

"My birthday...?" Nathan asked back. He actually started to wonder, did this version of prehistoric times even function on the Gregorian calendar? Did they use different calendars? If there was a functional train, then he assumed that anything could be possible...But without this knowledge, he couldn't really answer accurately. Of course, he knew exactly when his birthday was. It was in October. On the 7th to be precise. But he wasn't sure if Mr. Conductor even knew what October was... Last Nathan checked it was around September before he came here. So his birthday was coming up... After a bit of thinking, Nathan did figure out a way to explain it without the use of a calendar. "My birthday is... When the leaves start to turn colors! Sometime after the moon turns bright!" He exclaimed. Though inside, Nathan was quite frustrated with that explanation actually, he knew what he was trying to say, but his child side was taking the helm and saying things like this. It made him wish he had more control.

Mr. Conductor laughed a little and patted Nathan's head. "So your birthday is in Autumn, after the Autumn moon. Is that right?" He asked.

"Mhm! About a week after!" Nathan exclaimed. Slightly surprised that Mr. Conductor could gather all that from what Nathan said. Mr. Conductor smiled and nodded.

"So it's coming up soon then, good to know!" He exclaimed.

"Mhm..." Nathan said before his eyes drifted off into another direction as he started to think to himself, zoning out slightly as his mind wandered. He had nearly forgotten that choice he had to make.

Right... Staying here, or going home.

He wasn't exactly sure about when or how he should tell Mr. Conductor. Saying you're actually not a troodon isn't something that really comes up naturally after all...

Nathan sighed a little and shook his head. He'll figure it out eventually.

He was suddenly taken out of his thoughts by the sound of humming, he looked over to see that Mr. Conductor was humming a little tune. Curious, Nathan tugged at his vest slightly to get his attention. "Mr. Conductor?" He called out.

The older troodon stopped humming and looked at the young one. "Hm? What is it?"

"What's that song you were humming?"

Mr. Conductor smiled in response. "It's a song by King Cryolophosaurus! He's well known around the Mesozoic actually!" He exclaimed. "Not gonna lie, I am a bit of a fan myself."

Nathan looked down briefly, he was slightly taken aback. There were celebrities in prehistoric times? What else could possibly be here? He knew one thing though, he definitely wanted to meet this "King Cryolophosaurus", that's for sure. "...Do you know him?" Nathan asked as he looked back up at Mr. Conductor.

"Indeed I do! I've met him before! He even wrote a song about the Dinosaur Train! Which was the song I was humming!"

"Is there a chance I could meet him too?" Nathan asked, eagerness welling up within him.

"Hmm..." Mr. Conductor rubbed his chin. "Well, I believe he's having a concert in Laramidia, actually!"

"Really?!" Nathan asked excitedly. "Can we go, pleeeease?!" He bounced excitedly. His rational side was going bonkers though. He JUST told Mr. Conductor to stop thinking about the train! And yet his child side was asking to go to the concert! Which in order to get to said concert, they have to RIDE THE TRAIN! It was completely counter-productive! And yet his child self continued to jump with joy at the thought of going to a concert.

Mr. Conductor smiled brightly and nodded. "Of course we can go!" He said. Nathan cheered in response. He's never actually had the opportunity to go to a concert. So this would be truly interesting.

Mr. Conductor also cheered, but on the inside. Because he was able to ride the train again, which he was always happy about. Plus, he'd get to see The King himself in concert. So it was a win-win

After what felt like an excruciatingly long wait, Nathan and Mr. Conductor were finally making their way to Laramidia. Mr. Conductor explained along the way to Nathan about Laramidia, putting a lot of emphasis on how big the city there was. Which is why they referred to it as "The Dinosaur Big City". Nathan wondered what a "Dinosaur Big City" looked like. So he was pretty excited to find out.

Mr. Conductor did mention that King Cryolophosaurus had done a concert there before. And that the train was actually going to make a stop to pick him up. Upon hearing this, Nathan became excited and intrigued. He wondered what kind of personality someone like King would have. Furthermore, he's going to meet a DINOSAUR celebrity. The young troodon could hardly wait!

While the train was chugging along, Mr. Conductor and Nathan made small talk. Mainly about Dinosaurs. Though they did also delve into the topic of music. Nathan was a big fan of music. Though he always loved older songs, they were some of his favorites. Memories of him jamming out to songs like "Jailhouse Rock" or "I want you back" started coming to him. He couldn't help but smile while he was reminiscing.

_At least these are some good memories... _Nathan thought to himself. He had remembered so many bad things, that something like this was quite refreshing to him.

After a little while, the train finally stopped as Mrs. Conductor shouted the stop name. Apparently King lived in the Antarctic.

Mr. Conductor looked over at Nathan and smiled. "Ya ready to meet King?" He asked. Nathan nodded in excitement.

Mr. Conductor took Nathan's hand and lead him out and off the train, that was when Nathan saw him. King. He was a pretty big theropod, light pink and blue. With a crest that was shaped in a way similar to Elvis' hairstyle. That's what Nathan compared it too anyways.

"Hello, King!" Mr. Conductor greeted him normally. The Cryolophosaurus looked a bit taken aback for a moment and looked over Mr. Conductor.

Then something equally as surprising happened.

"Woah, Mr. Conductor is that you?! You look different man!" He sounded almost EXACTLY like Elvis Presley! "Normally you're rockin' your conductor uniform, you changin' things up?"

Mr. Conductor chuckled. "I'm currently taking a break from being conductor, so I don't really need to wear my uniform..."

"Makes sense, you're always on the train, man. Conductin' it, makin' sure it's on time. Gotta say, that other vest you're wearing suits you well, man!" King said. Then he looked over Nathan. "So, who's the little one ya have with ya?"

"This is Nathan, he doesn't have a home so I've been taking care of him."

King nodded in understanding and leaned down more towards Nathan's level. "It's nice to meet ya, Nathan! The name's King! King Cryolophosaurus!" He said. Nathan quickly recomposed himself and walked up closer so he could shake King's hand easier.

"It's nice to meet you too..." Nathan said. Still somewhat taken aback. "Mr. Conductor told me a lot about you. We're even gonna go see you in concert!" He exclaimed. _This is the closest I've ever been to meeting Elvis... _Nathan thought to himself. Trying his absolute hardest to keep himself composed. But his inner music nerd was nearly bursting with excitement.

Mr. Conductor chuckled and nodded. "Nathan's never been to one of your concerts before. So he's pretty excited!" He said, rubbing the young troodon a head.

"Y-Yeah, I'm... Pretty excited too, man!" King exclaimed, though his expression didn't seem excited. It seemed... Nervous.

"You don't look very excited..." Nathan commented.

"What are ya talkin' about, man? I'm really excited for the concert! Hyah!" He exclaimed, doing a small fist pump, any nervousness King had was being concealed at this point.

"If you say so..." Nathan said. Although he knew King was lying, he couldn't really call him out for it, he was afraid he'd come off as rude.

"All aboard!" Mrs. Conductor called out. And on cue, King went into the observation car. Nathan followed Mr. Conductor back onto the train and pretty soon they started moving again.

While they were heading to The Big City, Nathan and Mr. Conductor decided to make small talk with King. Talking about stuff like what songs he's made, and music in general.

"Are there any new songs you have?" Nathan asked.

"No, I don't right now, inspiration has been pretty scarce, man. It's hard to write songs sometimes. But when I do know what to write, aw it's a lot of fun, man!" He exclaimed, laughing a small bit.

"How do you figure out what to write for songs, King? That's so cool!" Nathan exclaimed.

"Ahh, well first I figure out what the song could be about. I like my music to have a meanin' man, you feel me? From there, it's all about thinking up lyrics, rhymes, all the like. There's not a whole lot to my writing process I guess. Usually I just write whatever comes to mind, then decide if it'll work in the song or not." King explained, smiling solemnly.

"That's amazing! You're so talented, King!" Nathan said, bouncing slightly in excitement.

King laughed and twiddled his fingers around a bit. "Aw come on, I'm not THAT amazing." He said.

Mr. Conductor chimed in. "Don't be so modest! Everyone in the Mesozoic loves your music, King! Many dinosaurs are coming just to see you! If that isn't amazing, I don't know what is!" He exclaimed.

"I love music, so I'm excited to see what you'll sing!" Nathan exclaimed. He was someone who absolutely adored music, he always listened to it when he was in a bad mood or feeling stressed, so being able to hear music even in prehistoric times was a blessing in disguise for him. All he could do was wait excitedly for when they get to The Big City.

After what felt like forever, finally, they arrived in Laramidia. Nathan looked out the window and gasped, there were A LOT of dinosaurs. There were also a lot of towering sauropods, it kind of reminded him of looking at huge skyscrapers. And like Mr. Conductor said, It was a BIG city.

"Okay Nathan! You ready to enter The Big City?" Mr. Conductor asked excitedly as he looked at Nathan.

"Yeah! I am!" Nathan exclaimed. Mr. Conductor took the young troodons hand and led him out and into the city. "This place is so... Well, big!"

"It is, isn't it? That's why it's called The Big City!" Mr. Conductor exclaimed.

Nathan got pretty excited, he wanted to start running off, but he kept himself under control, staying close by Mr. Conductor. "So, where to first?!" He asked excitedly

"Well, the concert doesn't start for awhile... How about some sightseeing?" Mr. Conductor suggested. Nathan nodded in response, he's never really done sightseeing much before. And sightseeing in prehistoric times sounds amazing to him. "Alright! Let's go then!" Mr. Conductor exclaimed, taking Nathan's hand and walking around. Mr. Conductor told the young troodon about the various areas in The Big City. He knew quite a bit about the city, so he was the best troodon for the job.

"I love sightseeing!" Nathan exclaimed, hopping around excitedly as they looked around the city.

"I do too, Nathan. You get to learn more about the place in the process, so it's always educational as well!" Mr. Conductor started getting rather absorbed in the sightseeing himself. He was very interested in learning new things, so this was hard to avoid. Eventually, his attention was grabbed by a few stands in the distance. He thought for a moment and decided that he might as well get a souvenir for Nathan. Although he suddenly panicked... He realized that for a brief moment, he had completely disregarded Nathan. Whipping around, he couldn't see the young troodon in sight, much to his dismay. "Oh no no no, I'm such an idiot!" He said to himself, smacking his head. "You need to keep a close eye on him, Mr. Conductor! Ugh!" He scolded himself. "Okay, calm down... Gotta find Nathan..." He said, keeping his cool as he looked around. "Nathan! Nathan!" He called out. Where could that troodon be?!

Nathan was lost in a crowd right now, his child instincts caused him to chase after a dragonfly, and now he was lost.

"Nice going, Nathan..." He said, feeling immeasurable disappointment in himself. "Mr. Conductor?! Mr. Conductor!" He called out, although he heard nothing back. "Why didn't I stay with him...?! Ugh!" He couldn't really do much except look for Mr. Conductor, but that was a bit difficult in a large crowd. "Hellooooo?! Mr. Conductor?!" He called out again.

He was managing to weave through each dinosaur, able to keep himself from getting squished. If he wasn't so focused on finding Mr. Conductor, he'd be panicking heavily right now.

"There are so many dinosaurs..." He muttered. It was like trying to navigate through a crowded train! He just wanted to find a safe place to take a breather!

After some time, he finally escaped the chaos of all those dinosaurs. "Okay Nathan, calm down... You're not in a crowded place now... Everything's fine..." He said to himself. Though he still didn't know where Mr. Conductor was. He needed a moment to think, to gather his thoughts... "It's not so bad... You're just in a... M-Massive city, separated from your guardian... Okay, so it's EXTREMELY bad..." He said to himself. "I-I just need to look for Mr. Conductor... Yeah, once I find him, everything will be fine..."

In the distance, he vaguely heard Mr. Conductor's voice. Feeling a wave of relief, he followed where the voice was coming from. "Mr. Conductor?!" He called out.

"Nathan!" He heard Mr. Conductor call out.

"Mr. Conductor!" Nathan called out louder.

After much perseverance. The two found each other again. "Nathan!" Mr. Conductor exclaimed in relief, running over and picking the young troodon up. "Are you alright?!" He asked in a panic. Nathan gripped onto Mr. Conductor tightly.

"Y...Yeah, I'm okay..." He said, shaking slightly. It was hard, but he made it back to Mr. Conductor. He was safe now... And yet, he felt like he was gonna scream. The massive crowd was so overwhelming to him, he wanted to cry, but he kept himself from crying. Only a few sniffles escaped. Unfortunately, Mr. Conductor noticed it.

"Hey, Nathan, it's alright... You're okay now." He said softly, rubbing Nathan's head. This did help calm the young troodon down. "I didn't mean to lose ya in the crowd that easily... I'm sorry."

"D-Don't apologize, you don't need too..."

"Yes I do... I left you and paid the price. I've always thought I wasn't that good at parenting, and this really proves it..." He said sadly, looking down.

"No! That's not true at all! You're really good at taking care of me!" Nathan exclaimed. "Yeah you're new to this, but don't beat yourself up over it! Everyone makes mistakes!"

Mr. Conductor looked a bit surprised. He then chuckled and nodded a bit. "Yeah, you're right... I shouldn't let that bring me down!" He said happily, his enthusiastic demeanor returning to him. "Although, I think it's best if I just carry you for now." He said. Nathan wanted to object... But another part of him enjoyed this... He wanted to be independent, but he also wanted some sort of comfort... After some deliberating in his head, he decided to let this happen. Nathan stayed quiet as Mr. Conductor carried him around. Looking at the sights, it helped get his mind off of things, definitely.

After a bit more sightseeing, Mr. Conductor and Nathan were finally ready to see the concert. When they arrived, it was quite packed. There were many dinosaurs around excited to see King perform. And Nathan was quite excited as well. To him, it felt like seeing Elvis perform live! Which was something he couldn't possibly dream of!

"You enjoying yourself, Nathan?" Mr. Conductor asked.

"Yeah! This is SO cool!" Nathan exclaimed in excitement, jumping around and giggling. He wasn't gonna lie that his inner music lover was freaking out over the fact that he was basically watching Elvis Live. But he still hated how much influence his child side had over him. It was like two siblings fighting over a remote. It was irritating to say the least. Regardless, Nathan enjoyed the concert from start to end. It was truly a sight to behold

Once the concert was over and done with, Mr. Conductor and Nathan went to say hi to King, and congratulate him on how successful the concert was.

After a bit of trial and error, they made it backstage to see King. Nathan excitedly ran up and started hopping up and down. "That was AWESOME! Your music is SO good, King!" He exclaimed.

King chuckled at the young troodon's enthusiasm. "Thanks man, truth be told, I always end up nervous when going on stage to sing. But I have friends who help with boosting my confidence, even if it takes awhile for what they say to stick, man."

"You have problems with confidence? But you looked extremely confident on stage!" Nathan exclaimed.

"Well, that's what it appears to everyone watchin'. But on the inside, I'm always freakin' out!"

That... Reminds me of me... _Nathan thought. Yeah, he wasn't the most confident person either... He always had issues with walking up to people and talking... But King has to sing in front of a crowd quite a bit. _Even now, I still have trouble talking with others...

"Well, what matters is you were able to do it! And you were awesome!" Nathan exclaimed, trying his best to reassure King.

King smiled in response. "Thanks for that, Nathan. Y'know, it's dinosaurs like you that really help keep me goin'!" He said. "A lot of the other dinosaurs are usually screamin' fans. But you; along with some other friends; treat me like me. Not like a celebrity. And I appreciate that!" He exclaimed.

Mr. Conductor smiled proudly at Nathan and rubbed his head. "We still got time, Nathan. How about some sightseeing?" He asked. Nathan nodded firmly in response.

"Yeah! That sounds fun!" He exclaimed, taking Mr. Conductor's hand.

"Alright!" He looked over to King. "Well again, it was an amazin' concert! Really! And as always, it was great to see ya!"

"It was good to see ya too, man! You guys have fun in the city now!" King exclaimed as he waved, the two troodon's walking off to do some sightseeing.

"There are probably quite a few other things we could do around here, Nathan. Just remember to stay close, alright?" Mr. Conductor said. Nathan nodded in response.

"Okay, Mr. Conductor." He said.

The rest of the day wasn't as eventful, all they really did was explore the city. And next thing they knew, they had to leave for the train.

Mr. Conductor was surprised with how fast everything went by. "Bless my scales and feathers!" He exclaimed. "It's been that long? I was havin' so much fun I lost track of time!" He exclaimed.

"Yeah, it went by so quickly!" Nathan exclaimed. "I had a great time though!"

"Same here, Nathan! Why, it might've been the best time I've had in a long while!" Mr. Conductor said with glee. "Anyways, let's head back to the train! Surprisingly, I'm quite relieved to be getting back home... All this excitement's got me a little tuckered out... How about you, Nathan?" He asked.

"I'm not tired yet!" Nathan replied with a bright smile.

"I see. Well once we get back home, I'm sure there's something else you can do." Mr. Conductor said as lead Nathan back to the train. As they and every other dinosaur entered the train, the sound of Mrs. Conductor exclaiming 'All aboard!' could be heard. The passenger car was a tad crowded, so Mr. Conductor and Nathan decided to move to the observation car with Laura, as it wasn't nearly as crowded.

As they entered the observation car, Nathan ran up to Laura and waved. "Hi, Laura!" He exclaimed. She looked down and gave a smile.

"Hello Nathan! It is so good to see you! And hello to you too, Mr. Conductor!" She greeted.

"Hello Laura! I hope ya don't mind us being here for a bit. The passenger cars were getting a little crowded, and I don't want Nathan to feel uncomfortable..." He said.

"I do not mind at all! You're more than welcome to stay here!" She said with a bright smile.

"So, have you drawn any new birds lately, Laura?" Nathan asked, tilting his head a little.

"Why yes, I have! Would you like to see them?" Laura asked. Nathan nodded excitedly in response and she got out her notebook. She then began showing Nathan various drawings of birds. Oftentimes Nathan would even ask what kind of bird was in the drawing, and Laura would always happily answer.

Mr. Conductor just watched silently as Nathan talked with Laura. He soon began to think to himself.

_Nathan really is quite the curious child. In some cases, he asks more questions than the Pteranodon kids. _He thought. It's not like children asking questions isn't normal. It totally is, and Mr. Conductor loves seeing that curiosity for learning things. Nathan was a smart kid, but at the same time, there's a lot of things he didn't fully understand...

The more he thought about it though, it started to feel a little... Off... When he thought back to when they were in Troodon Town. All that stuff Nathan talked about regarding trains... He's three yet he had a very firm grasp on trains it seemed... It just didn't sit right with him...

What exactly am I supposed to do though...? _He thought to himself. He couldn't exactly bring it up with Nathan. He didn't wanna risk causing the young one any panic. _And even if this IS fishy... Should I really worry over it as much as I am...? _After much thought, Mr. Conductor inevitably shoved this thought away for now. He didn't wanna give himself more to worry about. Especially while he's on vacation. _i guess I'll worry about it later...

After a long train ride, they were finally home. Mr. Conductor opened the door up for Nathan. He ran in excitedly, with Mr. Conductor following behind. "Slow down there, Nathan! Don't want ya to trip and hurt yourself." He said. Nathan stopped in his tracks and turned around.

"I just had so much fun today! That was such an amazing time!" He exclaimed. Nathan was extremely bouncy today, especially after all that happened. Which didn't really surprise Mr. Conductor at all.

"Well, I'm glad ya had fun, Nathan! I'm surprised you aren't tired, to be honest." He said. "You seem to just be more energetic than ever!"

"Yeah! Let's go do something else Mr. Conductor! Let's gooooo!" Nathan exclaimed, bouncing around. Mr. Conductor laughed and sat down for a moment.

"In a minute, Nathan. I still need to take a small rest after all the excitement from today." He said. Nathan nodded in understanding and sat down by Mr. Conductor, waiting patiently. Mr. Conductor smiled at him and took this time to think.

He's been pretty hesitant on officially becoming a father. Seeing as he never saw himself as father material... But he also kinda liked the thought of having a kid... He's never been on the fence about something for this long before... "Hey... Nathan?" He called out to the young troodon.

"Yes, Mr. Conductor?" Nathan asked, tilting his head slightly.

"This is just a... Theoretical question, but... Do you think I'd... Make a good dad?" Mr. Conductor asked, rubbing his head sheepishly.

"Are you kidding? Anyone would be lucky to have you as a dad! You'd be awesome at it!" Nathan said without hesitation, smiling as brightly as ever. "Sure, you'd have some issues along the way. But everyone starts somewhere, right?"

Mr. Conductor perked up and nodded firmly. "Yeah, that's exactly right! I couldn't have gotten where I am today without lots of help and practice!"

Nathan's adult side started kicking in for a bit. Why would Mr. Conductor even ask something like that? He just had to know. "So, uhh, why do you ask?"

Mr. Conductor stammered a bit. "Err, no reason. Just curious." He said. "Anyways, what say we go do something now!" He exclaimed as he stood up. Getting Nathan excited again.

"Yeah! Let's go!" He said with joy as he took Mr. Conductor's hand and dragged him out to do whatever they wanted.

As he was being dragged, Mr. Conductor couldn't help but smile. Just hearing what Nathan told him... That was more than enough.

Alright, I've made my mind up... _He thought to himself. _I never thought I'd ever do this...

With one small nod to himself, he continued to let Nathan drag him.

Yeah... I think I'm ready for this...

And that was the end of this chapter! It was a long time coming, I know. But I finally got it out!

Man, these chapters get harder to write as things progress. But I'll keep writing!

I can't really say when the next chapter will be, so just bare with me please. And with that, I bid you all adieu!

Oh! And happy new years!
