Corporate Obstacles

Part 2

For Catsithx

By Draconicon

_The rain beat down hard on her head, but she could tell that it was hitting the feline before her harder. Kain shook his head in disbelief, obviously not believing what she'd said.

"You can't...you can't be serious. We're supposed to be..."

"I know we're engaged, but -"

"I'll come with you. You don't have to break this off. You...you can't..."

The sergal shook her head, knowing that he was going to make this harder than it had to be. He always did, when it came to the emotional things. He had been the one to make her wait on the engagement, and now...

Maeve sighed, shaking her head, hair flopping down over her face from the rain. She pushed it back into place, looking down at her fiancé.

"We're not going to make it together, Kain. I have to break it off here. This internship could make it for me."

"I can get a job out there. We don't have to end this. We don't have to."

He was right about that much, at least. They didn't have to; it was possible that they might be able to make it work despite the difficulties. He had a certain allowance from his family, and that would give them an advantage in a foreign country, allowing them something that would keep their finances up. On top of that, he was surprisingly good at finding lucky things, to the point where she had thought that he might be useful.

But there was more to it than that, and more to the point of leaving. She shook her head.

"The answer is no, Kain. The answer...is no."

"Please..."

He was about to cry, she knew. He had always been the more emotional of the two of them. The green and gray sergal shook her head, turning her back on the cat.

"It's over, Kain. Please...don't follow me."

As the black-furred feline broke down in sobs in the rain, she walked away from him. She told herself that this was the best way to break it up, that this was the way out that she had been looking for, that she would be able to pursue her dreams without the dead weight of the gift-less feline dragging her down.

He was useless, she told herself. He had none of his mother's gifts, and there was no point in staying with him when he had neither fortune, nor fame, nor anything else to him. He had nothing but the warmth of a good heart, and that was something that a witch could do very little with.

Yet, he was not the only one that left that parting with tears in one's eyes._

#

Maeve opened her eyes as the alarm went off, and she felt the tears still there. The sergal lifted her fingers to her face, rubbing her eyes until they were dry once more and no longer obscured her vision. The effort it took to sit up was more than she wanted to admit, and she groaned as she rested her back against the headboard of the bed.

"Kain..."

The sergal had left him some time ago. How long? Two years? Three? Something like that, something that felt more like a lifetime ago.

They'd parted for her to go to a different country, to learn power from someone that would give her a chance at a greater life for herself. Someone that had promised to give her wealth, give her strength, make her magic stronger than ever.

She had more magic than ever, that was true, but the rest of it had been lies.

Trust the world to tell me that I made a mistake in the most painful way possible.

The green sergal slid out of bed, groaning and cracking her spine from the discomfort that came with sleeping too little and too late. The sheets slipped off of her, revealing her curves and form to a nearby mirror. Soft, gentle, with the hunting muscles of her species and the thick curves in the chest and hips that sergals were famous for, she certainly looked like the sort of woman that could strut into any establishment and pick up anyone that she wanted.

That was how she had looked all those years ago, too, when she had picked up Kain. She had thought that he would have carried his mother's 'gift', the magic that the old woman had had. The idea of carrying the children of such a powerful union had drawn her to Kain, and his personality had helped.

When it was clear that he had no magic of his own, she had made it easier on herself, leaving when the internship had shown up. There was no point in spending her life with someone magicless, no matter how good they were.

And then, the revelation.

The sergal rubbed her head as the reminder played out in her head as it did every morning, the reminder of her failure, the reminder of what she had not done, of what she'd missed. Kain might lack his mother's gift directly, but it did not mean that it would not be passed down into the young that he did have with those he married. She had missed the obvious, giving up on someone that might have been useful, someone that she had cared for, and now, she had wasted her shot.

The news had traveled quickly when the black cat had gotten married. She shook her head, pouring her coffee as she remembered the pictures in the news. Big news, with the head of a large company getting two wives at once. The very idea had shocked the press, but it hadn't shocked her.

Ramses is involved with this one...

The jackal had always been there in the background when she'd been around before, always been the one pulling the strings and making sure that things went the way that they were supposed to. Every little scheme that she had to pull Kain into a relationship that was more bound by her power was foiled at the start, almost as if the jackal knew what she was going to do before she did it.

In all honesty, she wouldn't be surprised if he had kept tabs on her ever since she showed up in the past. She was pretty sure that she would have done the same with him.

The sergal sat down with her coffee, sipping at it as she sorted through her own thoughts. There was a chance, however slim, that she might be able to get the cat back. If nothing else, she might be able to get him to cheat on his wives for a few nights, just long enough to give her young that would carry that powerful gift. That would be the start, and it would be enough, if it stopped there.

But if she could tempt him away...

Ramses will be watching...

The sergal put the cup down, taking a few deep breaths. That was a contest that she would avoid if she could. While she was stronger, Ramses had been endowed with a great deal of power by his former mistress, power that he could only use according to the purpose of protecting Kain. That was a very singular purpose, admittedly, but whenever the jackal was focused on that...

Well, it was not something the average witch would try and pit herself against.

The sergal leaned her head back, taking a deep breath. She had tried to break down the bonds between her former lover and the women that he had married. She had assumed correctly that Ramses was involved in the spell, and had managed to find a counterspell that would free their minds. Judging by the fact that there was no response from the company, nothing that implied that there had been injuries or divorces - something that even The Magical Mundane would not have been able to cover up - she had every reason to believe that the plan had failed.

That meant that she had to do something better to split them, if she wanted something permanent in her favor. However, for the one-night stand...or weekend...

She still knew what Kain liked. She remembered what he had been staring at when they were together, and a man's tastes in such things seldom wavered much. He would still crave the strong woman that made it clear what she wanted, and that she wanted him. It would be enough, she was sure.

Kain groaned as he slipped out of his bed, still surrounded on either side by the pregnant women that he called wife. They were both sleeping, snoozing through the beginnings of the greater part of their pregnancy. Now that he was aware of their condition, he could see that they had the bulges of a pregnant woman, that their bellies were starting to swell and expand. He didn't want to push them in any way, but...

Well, on the plus side, them being quite so tired meant that he had the chance to actually rest for a change. They wouldn't be jumping his bones twenty-four-seven.

The black cat slipped out of bed, getting his clothes on before heading to the elevator. There was no Ramses to stop him, nor was there any guards in the way. He imagined that the jackal was out there, taking care of the minutia of the company, and he was more than happy to give his friend the chance to work things out. Right at that point in time, he was more concerned about his own hide.

The fact that he had been attacked through his wives the night before meant that there was someone else gunning for him, and neither of them knew who that could be. It could be a rival company, it could be someone else that wanted Nei and Azuel for their own, or it might be someone else completely. There were many enemies in the corporate world, and he was pretty sure that most of them were more than willing to see him fall, no matter what it took to make it happen.

He was just getting out of the elevator when his phone started ringing. He blinked, wondering who could be calling him this early in the morning, and pulled it out of his suit pocket. The black cat had scarcely pressed it to his ear when a feminine voice spoke.

"Hello, Kain."

The black cat froze in mid-step, his eyes wide as he recognized the voice.

"...How did you get this number?" he whispered as he made his way to one of the chairs in the lobby.

"In my line of work, if I want something, it's very easy to obtain it."

"Yes, but how?"

"It doesn't matter. Ramses will block it later, and I'll have to try something else."

"What do you want, Maeve?"

"The same thing that I've always wanted. You."

That sent a shiver down his spine, and not necessarily a good one. He knew that she wasn't lying, either. There was something about Maeve that always seemed to be bound to the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it was. She had always been one to be blunt, painfully so, and he knew that she was likely not pulling any punches now.

But he still remembered that night, that horrible night in the rain where she walked away. He pulled one leg over the other, trying to keep his voice quiet as he talked to her.

"I don't want to see you."

"I know."

"And I don't want to go back to that."

"I know that, too."

"Then why did you call me?"

"To remind you that we were engaged...and that we can be together again."

That sent a twinge through his heart, and he knew that it had been her exact purpose to try and make him feel for her again. The knowledge that she was manipulating him didn't quite stop him from feeling that love again, though. It might have been years since they had seen each other, but that didn't stop him from caring for her.

Shaking his head, he looked towards the door, then around the lobby. No sign of her, which meant that she wasn't calling from where she could see him physically. That meant that she knew where he was, and was watching him further off.

Magic women...that is going to cause a whole new problem...

"You broke up with me."

"And now, I'm offering you the chance to come back."

"I'm married."

"I saw. But what's the difference between two and three women under you?"

That sent an entirely different sort of shiver through his groin, and one that he wasn't entirely proud of. He didn't want to think of her that way, nor did he want to think of the other women in his life that way.

They weren't a harem. They were his wives.

But that didn't stop him from wanting a third one, particularly one that knew him so -

"No. No. The answer is no," he muttered, adjusting himself.

"Are you sure about that? I can imagine what you're feeling right now. Confused. A little bit lost. A little bit wanting. I can help with that. I can help with a lot more than that," she said.

"Maeve -"

"Sir."

Kain looked over his shoulder, half-relieved and half-annoyed to see the jackal right behind him. Ramses held out his hand for the phone, and he handed it over. The jackal held it to his head.

"Do not call this number again. Your chance was over the moment that you left him for another cause."

Click. And just like that, the phone call was done. Kain groaned, shaking his head a few times, and Ramses shook his own.

"That was risky, sir. She is a powerful enough witch to cast magic over a call."

"Do you think she was?"

"Likely a spell of temptation, sir. There would have been more of them, driving you to come to her, to at least give her a chance. And if she had put her hands on you, it would have been difficult for you to leave her again afterward."

"..."

"I would suggest that you not allow her to get close. She has already had her chance, and she has shown what matters more to her. Not you, or your comfort, but the pleasures of her own choosing. Her power is all that drives her, her skill and her position in the magical world. When she believed that you were below her, she was quick to move on, to leave you behind in return for a chance to advance. That will not change; if you give her anything, then she will take what she wants, and then leave again."

"...You're right," he muttered, shaking his head. "I'm...sorry for giving her the chance to talk."

"I would suggest that you do not mention this to your wives, at least for now. They will go on the warpath, and The Magical Mundane is on the hook for enough damage to the city as it is."

He nodded, wincing internally at the thought of the various fights that had gone on over the last year between his wives and their former lovers. That was one good thing about Ramses having dealt with them recently. There would be no more of that, at least for a while.

The jackal reached into his pocket, pulling out a new phone from the tight black pants that he wore. There were a few buttons pressed, and then it was passed over.

"A new number for you, sir. I'll put the news through the company, so that everyone can still get in touch with you."

"And if she gets this one?"

"I would suggest not answering her number, sir."

"And what was her number?"

Unsurprisingly, Ramses was able to rattle off a phone number right then and there. Kain shook his head, putting it into the blocked numbers for his phone. The jackal nodded encouragingly.

"That should keep her at bay for a short time, at least."

"And what should we do in the long term?"

"Avoid her. We should hope that she is smart enough to keep from doing anything stupid, but if I remember her correctly, she was always one to allow ambition to drive her. Keep your guard up, sir."

"I will."

"And if anything happens, call for me. I will come."

"...Thank you."

As Ramses walked away, Kain was aware of the slight temptation that was still there, still lingering in the back of his head. He had been fighting it more than he realized in the phone call, pushing back against the urge to allow Maeve back into his life. She had been...

He had loved her, once. They had been close, but the way that she had just kicked him to the curb when things had gone wrong still lingered as a painful memory. He remembered how it had felt to cry in the rain, to collapse on the sidewalk. Ramses had come for him, guided him off the street and back to a hotel for the night, but he had still cried his eyes out at losing her.

That had left a hole that even Nei and Azuel hadn't been able to fill, and knowing that she still wanted him...

No, no, that was the wrong way to think about it. He hadn't been bothered by it for over a year before today, and that was down to the spells that she had probably cast over the phone call. He needed a distraction, and he needed it now.

The wives...

That would be something, at least. If nothing else, they would remind him of what he had now, and why he didn't need someone like Maeve in his life anymore. Even if they were controlled by a spell and a potion, he knew that they still cared for him and craved him, and that was better than someone that was trying to control him for their own means.

He had changed. Maybe she didn't know it yet, but he had changed.

Making a quick phone call back to the head offices to say that he was taking a day off, the black cat turned back to the elevators, already undoing his tie and starting to unbutton his jacket. The guards blinked as he went by, obviously a bit surprised that he was back already, but that was fine with him. Let them be surprised. Let them be shocked that their boss was taking the day off.

He had wives that needed to be cared for, and today, he was going to take charge. Today, he finally had the motivation.

With a smile, he tapped the button for the penthouse, already imagining what he was going to do. This time, he was going to order them around. This time, he was going to have the dragoness and the kitsune on all fours in front of him, their asses up and their heads down, and their tails shoved off to the side to show off their bodies to him.

He could already imagine how it was going to feel to take turns fucking them, to ram his dick down one pussy and then move to the other, and then go back again and again and again. This time, he was going to be in charge. This time, he was going to show them what their husband really was like, when he was the one that called the shots.

The elevator reached the top floor, and he stepped out, tapping his card against the door. He stepped inside, calling for them, but there was no answer.

Probably still sleeping, he thought, kicking off his socks and shoes at the door and taking off his suit jacket. I can go and wake them up, though. They'll love this. For once, they'll do what I say instead.

He was grinning all the way to the bedroom, but when he walked up to the door, he realized something was wrong. Something was...off.

What's going on?

There wasn't even the sound of snoring, and he was so used to Azuel snoring that he was surprised that he hadn't noticed it missing yet. He should have noticed that from the front door. Yet, there was nothing. He paused, slowly pushing at the door and looking in.

His wives were tied up, their arms against the wall, their legs spread. Their eyes were forced forward, and their heads were bound back. Sitting there, on the middle of the bed, in the skimpiest of lingerie, was their captor.

Maeve.

"Hello, lover," she whispered.

"Maeve...what are you doing here?"

"Taking back what's mine."

"I stopped being yours long ago."

"Have you?"

She slowly spread her legs, showing off what he had never had. Their time together had never progressed further than mutual petting and the occasional oral, but her pussy had always been the object of his desire. He blushed as he looked down at her, his cock starting to rise up even further in his pants, and he imagined how it would feel to plunder that the way that he had been imagining fucking his wives.

The thought came with such violence and need that he knew that it didn't come from him. She was doing something to him. The cat groaned, rubbing his forehead, even as he felt his cock throbbing up and down in his pants. He could feel his libido throbbing, rushing to the fore, pushing for the chance to have the thing that they had always been denied.

The sergal smiled at him, and he shivered as he saw the way that she looked down at his cock.

"Today, that will be mine," she said.

"I'm...married," he muttered.

"Yes, and you know that you still want me."

"I'm married!"

"And I don't care."

She curled her fingers, and he came to her, his legs moving almost on their own. He could resist to an extent, but there was something to her that was driving him up the wall. There was something to her control, to her power, that kept him from resisting as he took one step towards the bed, and then another, and another.

Azuel and Nei looked forward blankly, their eyes completely empty. Obviously, the spell that Ramses had put on them hadn't been broken this time, but their minds seemed to have been put to sleep, their eyes completely blind to what was going on around them.

Probably a good thing. If they knew that he was being tempted to cheat on them, they would probably rip him limb from limb, and then go after Maeve.

As soon as he stopped in front of her, she reached out, pressing her hand against his crotch. She smiled, rubbing along his bulge, feeling the size of him, and despite himself, the feline purred.

"You are as lovely as I remember."

"Nnngh...You could have...kept that..."

"I gave up for a stupid reason."

"And now...now you think you...you can just take it back?"

"I plan to."

She flicked her finger, and his zipper went down. Another flick, and the fly in his underwear was pushed to the side, his cock allowed to come free. He wanted to say that his cock was soft, but no. He was hard as could be, as stiff and erect as anyone might have been with a near-naked lover in front of them.

"Nnngh..."

He blushed worse as he felt her breath hot against his tip, felt the way that her hands pressed against his thighs. There was no hate in her eyes, no humiliation there for what he was being made to do. No. There was only desire.

She dragged her tongue from the base of his shaft up to the tip, and he gasped as she hit every sensitive spot that she had learned when they were together. The feeling of that soft tongue was different to the long, dexterous thing that Azuel had, and even more different from the licking that he got from Nei, soft and gentle. This was a broader lick, the sort of thing meant to tease and torment in the best of ways.

He shivered as she did it again, and again, each time dragging her tongue from his base all the way to the tip. Soon, he was oozing pre-cum, and the sergal wrapped her fingers around the base of his cock, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Do you remember this?"

"Too well..."

"You can have it again. You can have me again. Everything that we used to have and more."

She spread her legs, and he saw the moisture between them, the stickiness of her panties. The way that she knelt there, the way that she offered herself, was more tempting than it should have been, particularly for someone that was trying to trap him into a relationship once more.

Ramses...

He opened his mouth, only for her to rub her fingers right under the head of his cock, her other hand gently cupping the tip with its claws.

"The jackal will not be coming this time," she whispered.

"What...what did you do?"

"The internship...was not completely useless," she admitted, shaking her head. "There were many things that I did not receive, but I did grow in power...and I was given an artifact...something powerful enough that it should deal with him...at least, until you and I are done."

The idea that his protector had been taken out of the equation shocked him, and it finally gave him the strength to take a step back from the temptress on the bed.

She looked surprised at that, cocking her head to the side as he stepped outside her reach. Honestly, he surprised himself. He had been expecting to be stopped, but he had managed to fight her magic a little bit. Maybe there was some protection left in his clothes, or perhaps there was something in the hotel room.

Whatever it was, Maeve wasn't about to tolerate it. Her teasing smile stopped as she gestured at him, and this time, his feet left the ground as he was floated over to the bed. She flicked her finger again, and he was slammed down on his back. His clothes flew off him, hitting every corner of the room, leaving him stripped down to nothing but his fur. His cock was up and hard, and he shivered as she straddled him.

"My lover...please stop thinking that you have a choice in this."

"Let me go!"

"I can't." She leaned forward, her barely-covered breasts resting against his chest as she kissed his cheek. "I made that mistake once...and I'm not going to make it again."

The feeling of her wetness through her panties as she straddled him was something that he had most definitely not expected, and it was definitely more than he had ever thought that he'd get from her. He huffed softly, particularly as she ground down on his growing erection.

"You were mine. And soon, you'll be mine again."

"You can't."

"I will."

She stroked his cheek again, kissing him.

"All it will take is one child."

"..."

"Yes. One child, deep inside me...and I am fertile already..."

That explained why she was so wet. She wanted him, needed him, and he was stuck, unable to get away.

Ramses...Ramses, please...

Her panties were slowly pulling to the side, and the sergal was smiling down at him, her lips parted in anticipated bliss.

Ramses!

The jackal felt the call of his young master, but there was a small problem. He couldn't use the door.

Ramses stood in his ghostly world, just as he had done when he had left the limo and entered that hotel room the night before. He had his hand on the door, and what should have happened was that it would open, revealing Kain's penthouse hotel room, and he would have walked over and dealt with the problem.

Instead, the door refused to open.

The jackal tried it twice, and then changed the direction in which he wished to travel. He pressed the door open, and this time, stepped through a door into the hotel lobby. That, it seemed, did work.

And that means that sir's room is compromised.

The jackal took the elevator up, followed by the two security guards that were standing by it. He stood with his arms crossed behind his back, his head tilted back ever so slightly as he rode something that, by all rights, shouldn't have been necessary.

Maeve is moving faster than I anticipated. I expected her to take a few days, not strike immediately.

He supposed he shouldn't have been surprised. She was always one to move quickly when she knew what she wanted.

But how - ah.

The elevator doors opened, and his question as to how he had been banned from the chambers was answered. There was a seal on the front door, a powerful one. The artifact must have been placed shortly after his master entered, allowing for the closing door to seal off the chamber. It was an unbroken circle of green and white, pulsing softly around the unit number of the penthouse.

"Do you want us to break it down, boss?" one of the guards, a grunting bear, asked.

"...Not yet," Ramses said, shaking his head. "It will alarm our quarry, and she'll flee. A moment."

He could not enter, but the power of the artifact did not prevent him from casting his eyes through the walls. The jackal peered through them, and he saw the light that was their lives in the bedroom.

Whether Maeve wanted to rub his face in her victory or not, she had only stopped him from being able to enter the room. She did nothing to prevent his sight from passing through the walls. He watched as she mounted his master, sliding herself over his groin, pinning him to the bed.

Doubtlessly, she thought that she had won.

But his mistress had endowed him with many powers, and while he could not yet enter to punish her himself, there were other ways. He was connected with young master Kain, but there were others with which he shared connections, as well.

Others that were in that room.
