#9 of Tora

Oh, man. It's been rough for me these past couple weeks. Tests at school and life at the house is insane. I wish i had a shield to protect me from the insanity at the house. Anyway, sorry for the late update. I actually had this done last thursday, but I didn't have enough time to post it while I was still at school, so I was gonna wait till tuesday to post it. I surprised myself at how fast I wrote 5000 words, but it didn't feel long enough so kept writting until I was satisfied.

Unfortunately, after I read it over again, I didn't like how it turned out. A part in it didn't really feel natural to me. So I did what every decent writer does in that situation. I cursed at the gods that let me write that part and started over. I had to replace about 2,000 words. It wasn't easy cuz I had to make sure it made sense with the rest I didn't have to replace. If you want to see what exactly I rewrote, tell me and I'll post it in my journal. I've been thinking about alternating my posts for T.E.C and Tora. I'll update Tora one week and do T.E.C the next. Anyway, I'll let you get to reading. As always, comments and votes are welcome and appreciated.

Back in Viridian City, in the home of the Welby's, Chris and Tora were enjoying a relaxing day together. They had gotten up early and had a quick breakfast before heading out to re-explore the town together. The sun wasn't that high up in the sky and there was a gentle breeze blowing every once in a while to keep things comfortable. Unfortunately, most of their morning was spent talking to everyone that heard of the hit and run, not that they minded, but anything was better than reliving that day.

The afternoon went a little more smoothly. They made a pit stop back at home for lunch. Marcus was in the kitchen helping Angela prepare the meal. It wasn't anything special, just some sandwiches, chips, and whatever beverage of their choice. "You two have fun?" Marcus asked as they walked by the kitchen.

"It was okay. A lot of people kept stopping us and making sure I was alright. It was cool at first, but after a while it was kind of annoying." Chris replied.

"It wasn't that bad." Tora said as she nudged his leg. "They were just concerned about you."

"That's fine and all, but everyone kept saying the same thing. 'How are you feeling?, Heard you got hit, are you doing okay?, 'Did you look both ways before crossing?' and there was even one guy who asked me if I would want to do it again." Chris exclaimed.

"Okay, that guy was weird, but everyone else was nice."

"Sounds eventful. Go wash up you two, lunch is just about ready." Marcus said as he and Angela finished putting the sandwiches together.

"Okay." Tora and Chris said together before heading up the stairs.

"What do you feel like doing later?" Tora asked as they walked down the hallway to the bathroom.

"I don't know. Wanna go see a movie?" Chris replied. Tora flinched slightly as the thought of what happened the last time they went to see a movie came back.

"I don't know if anything good is playing."

"We could find out. If there's nothing good playing, wanna head over to the park?" Tora perked up when he said park.

"Yeah, let's go the park!" she said excitedly.

"It's a plan then. We'll check the theater for any movies playing, then head over to the park." he confirmed. With that said, they quickly washed up and headed back down for lunch. Marcus and Angela had just finished putting cups on the table when they came back. Chris and Tora took their places at the table across from their parents and began eating.

"So, you kids staying home for the day or are you heading back out?" Angela asked as she took a bite of her sandwich.

"We're gonna go see if any good movies are playing, then head over to the park afterward." Chris replied.

"A movie eh? It's been a while since we've seen one as a family. How about we join you? We don't have anything planned for the day and a movie sounds good." Marcus suggested. Chris thought it over in his head for a moment.

"Eh, I guess it's okay."

"You guess? Are you trying to say you could have fun without us?"

"Of course we could. I just thought it would be nice to allow you guys to get a glimpse at the fun we're gonna be having today."

"Oh, I see. You're allowing us to join you."

"That's right." Chris said taking another bite of his sandwich. Tora and Angela simply ignored them and continued eating. This happened every time Marcus suggested a family trip to the theater. He would suggest it, Chris would say something smart, then he would do something stupid to get Chris to agree. It was never anything serious, just a thing they would do for fun.

"Sorry you feel that way. I guess I allowed you to eat enough of the food your mother and I prepared for lunch." Marcus reached across the table and took away Chris' plate.

"No, wait, I'm sorry! I need to eat!"

"Nah, I think I'll just eat the rest." Marcus said with an evil grin.

"Alright! Alright! You guys can come too. Just let me eat first!" Chris pleaded. Marcus looked as if he was considering letting him finish eating.

"I guess, but you have to buy me a box of candy when we go."

"Deal!" Marcus handed Chris his plate back, who took it and kept it closer to his body.

Lunch continued on without anymore silly fights. Eventually, they left the house and made their way to the movie theater. Tora was still a little nervous though, but she didn't let it show. She didn't want Chris to worry about her problems. When they arrived, there weren't that many people there, since it was still in the middle of the day and most people tend to watch movies at night. The family of four went up to the front of the theater and casually glanced at all the movie posters. There were some comedies playing, but Chris wanted something with more action.

"There's one with the champion starring in it." Angela said. Chris and Tora took a look at the poster. It was an action movie starring the current league champion. The champion was a male of average height with brown eyes, brown skin, and short dreadlocks. After Lance retired from being champion, the league counsel needed to appoint a new one, so they held a region wide tournament to decide. He was an early crowd favorite. Chris and Tora watched all his matches on tv. Needless to say, Chris sort of made him his role model, saying that he wants to be stronger than him one day. She had no doubts he could do it, but every time they watched the battles, she could only imagine how hard she would have to work to get up the that level of power.

"You wanna see this one?" Chris asked, looking down at the electric mouse.

"I guess so. There really isn't that much to choose from." Tora replied.

"I guess that settles it then." Marcus said. "You two watch this, while me and the Mrs. watch this." He pointed to a poster entitled "Patrick Murray presents: Mairenn Crosses The Line". Chris mentally sighed. He didn't really understand what was so great about those Patrick Murray movies. Most of them featured Patrick Murray playing a tall, loud, outrageous woman, who often gets in trouble with law, and is part of a really dysfunctional family.

The movies usually involve a woman who's in a troubled relationship with some no good thug who somehow manages to keep her in the relationship no matter how unhappy she is. Later on, her family manages to get her to see that her life doesn't have to be the way she's living it now and can be much better if she dumps her man and get with a nicer man she met during her period of revelation. She gives her relationship one last try to see if she could somehow change it for the better, but after the failed attempt, she gets saved by her family, the nicer man, and the mean guy gets what he deserves. In the end, she and her new man get married and live happily ever after. Not only does Patrick make movies, but he makes plays too. But the thing that Chris really didn't get was why he would want to play a woman's part to begin with.

"Since our movie's gonna be longer than yours, you two can head over to the park as soon as it's over." Marcus said.

"Okay." Chris replied. Chris recalled Tora into her pokéball and did the same routine to sneak her inside. Once inside, he paid for Marcus' box of candy and got Tora's favorite as well. He parted ways with his parents and made his way to where their movie was playing. He sat in the back as always and released the electric mouse under his jacket. She poked her head out and giggled.

"I always feel so naughty when we do this." she whispered.

"I do too. Here I got us something to snack on while we watch." Chris whispered back. He pulled out the box of cream flavored candy from his pocket. She let out a silent squeal and hugged him.

"It's been forever since I've had any. Thanks."

"No prob. I gotta make sure my girl gets her snack on." Chris said as he rubbed her head.

"Am I your only girl?" Tora asked with a huge smile.

"My one and only."

"Good answer." Just as she said that, the previews started playing. "Oh, the previews are starting." She turned around and made herself comfortable on Chris' lap. No one knows why, but the previews of upcoming movies are probably the other reason people go to the movie theater. Sometimes, they were as good as the movie they went to go see.

*****8*****

"That was awesome! It was better than I expected!" Chris exclaimed as he and Tora walked out of the theater.

"I know! Who would've thought they'd show two of his pokémon in it!" Tora added following close behind. The movie was, of course, a big hit to them. It was full of action, suspense, and a look at two of the league champion's pokémon.

The first that appeared was a golduck. The blue duck was unmatched when it came to his speed and powerful water attacks, not to mention his psychic abilities. The second was a sandslash. Almost as fast, but his strength came from the precision strikes he dealt with his long sharp claws. It was definitely exciting for Chris to see them in action and no doubt inspired him even more to start on his journey with Tora as soon as possible. He started thinking over everything he would need to do in order to get ready for that day. Tora was just as excited as he was. She thought that maybe someday when they beat the champion, everyone will be able to see how strong she was. Though she still had a long way to go before she reached champion level strength, she was still looking forward to that day.

"Ready for the park?" She asked as she popped the last of her candy in her mouth.

"Actually, I feel like getting some ice-cream right now. You wanna make a quick stop at Milshakes? We can eat our ice-cream while we're walking." Chris replied.

"Sure, I don't mind." With that said, they made their way to the ice-cream parlor known as Milshakes. The name was a cross between "miltank" and "milkshakes". Not the most creative name in the world, but the dairy treats there were widely popular. As long as they keep selling, the owner doesn't care how ridicules the name was. Along the way, they talked about the movie they saw. Once they got to Milshakes, Chris ordered a double scoop of cookies 'n' cream in a waffle cone, while Tora got a double scoop of vanilla and strawberry in a sugar cone. Chris paid for the frozen treats and they left for the park.

There were lots of kids playing when they got there, despite how warm it was. They decided to sit on the bench and watch the kids play while they finished their frozen dairy treats. Some of the kids came by and asked if they could play with Tora. The kids couldn't have been more than eight or nine years old. She agreed to play with them after she finished eating, which wouldn't be too long since she had a smaller cone. As soon as she finished, she hopped off her seat and followed the kids not to far away from Chris to play with them. Chris finished a few minutes later and joined her and the kids for an afternoon of various games. This was exactly what Tora missed while Chris was still in the hospital recovering; playing with him in the park. The last time she went to the park, she was by herself and had an empty feeling in her gut while she played with the kids. Now that he was with her, she didn't have that empty feeling and she felt more at peace.

One by one, the kids were picked up by their parents to leave the park. By the time all the kids were gone, the sun was still a couple hours from setting. With nothing else to do, Chris decided to do a usual follow-up trip to the cave in the nearby forest. They left the park and Tora followed beside Chris. Along the way, Tora realized where he was leading them and felt a huge knot in her stomach, along with a twinge of panic.

"C-Chris... w-where are we going?" she asked, fully knowing the answer.

"Where do think we're going?" he asked rhetorically. "We're going to the cave." Tora felt the knot in her stomach grow, along with her fear. Her mouth suddenly felt dry, her breathing increased dramatically, and she was fidgeting with her tail.

"Do we have to go now? I mean, we just said we were going to the park. I thought we were gonna go home." Chris looked down at the electric mouse and saw that she was playing with her tail, the sure sign that she was either uncomfortable or flustered. He was sure it wasn't the latter.

"Alright, since you don't wanna go, we'll head home then. It's not like we have to go there." Without another word, Chris turned around and lead them to the shortcut that went through the park. Needless to say, Tora was relieved when he changed his mind, but that was what had her thinking.

"Why'd he change his mind so fast?" she asked herself. "He's usually eager to go there with me." She looked up at him to see if he was disappointed, but he didn't seem down at all. He just kept on smiling. She continued to ponder on this all the way home.

Once Chris and Tora got home, Marcus and Angela were preparing dinner. As usual, they were sent upstairs to go wash up before dinner was ready. Chris went to their room to grab a change of clothes while Tora went straight to the bathroom to prepare the bath water. Chris arrived in the bathroom a couple minutes later. The bath was still not ready, but neither he nor the electric mouse cared. He stripped down naked and hopped in the tub, followed by his trusted partner. Like any other kids, they would sit and watch the water rise until it was at a comfortable level. As soon as the water had risen to about Tora's waist, she turned the water off and sat down with her back facing Chris. They simply soaked in the warm water for a few minutes to let the days' stress on the body melt away.

"Aaah, this feels good." Chris sighed, completely relaxing his body.

"Mmm, baths are always nice." Tora added as she sunk into the water until it reached her chin. "Chris, why did you change your mind about going to the cave?"

"What do mean? You wanted to go home, so I put it off." he replied.

"That's exactly why I asked. You never pass up a chance to go there. Why now?"

"You weren't ready to go back there. I'm not going to force you to do something that obviously makes you uncomfortable."

"Why would it make me uncomfortable? We both love going there." Tora pointed out as she turned to face Chris.

"True, but your clearly not ready to go back after what happened." At this, Tora looked really surprised.

"Y-you know?!" she stammered. He simply nodded and cupped her cheek with his wet hand.

"Mom told me everything she knew when she visited me. She didn't tell me a lot of details, but I didn't need to know everything that happened to know that you were hurt. I'm just sorry I wasn't there to protect you from him."

As he was saying this, he was rubbing her cheek in a comforting, yet pleasuring way. Tora felt her heart flutter a little when he said that. She knew he would be ready to protect her from harm at a moment's notice, but going up against a powerful nidoking like that would be a little much in her opinion. Still, it was nice that he thought so much of her well being.

"You don't have anything to apologize for. I'm sure that if you were there, he would have beaten you just as bad as he did me." Tora said sadly.

"Is that any way to talk to someone who cares about you enough to risk their life?" he asked. Tora was taken aback by his question. She was about to answer, but he continued by answering his own question. "Of course not, you're supposed to say 'thank you' and accept the gesture." Tora smiled. She then moved onto his lap and hugged his bare chest.

"Thank you. You're the best friend I could ever ask for." Chris gladly returned the hug and lightly rubbed her back. He then grabbed a bottle of shampoo on the floor, squeezed the contents onto his palm, and rubbed it into Tora's orange fur. He started with the top of her head and moved to massaging around her ears, to which she purrs in pleasure. "You sure know how to get a girl going." Tora commented. "How do you do it?" Chris let out a little laugh.

"You're my girl. I gotta know what makes you feel good."

"You're the best." It was then that Chris got an idea. After he was finished with her head, he moved to her neck and small shoulders. By now, Tora was completely relaxed, which was what he wanted. He slowly made his way down to her sides and waited a moment before he suddenly went on the attack. Before she even realized it, Chris was savagely tickling her. She flailed around and tried to get away from him, but he managed to hold her in place.

"St... Stop it! St-stop... Ti- tickling me!" Tora gasped as she tried to talk through her laughter. Chris didn't let up though and continued his assault. When she managed to get away from him, he got up on his knees and got her again. This continued for a minute, before an accidental, well-timed kick hit Chris in the family jewels. He let out a high-pitched whine that was barely audible and instinctively went to grab his injured balls. Unfortunately, when he did that, he lost his balance and fell forward onto Tora. A bit of air was knocked out of her lungs due to the laughing and his head landing on her chest.

"Ow, what was... that for?!" she coughed out.

"Ymmmbtmabmms" He mumbled in her chest.

"What?" Chris turned his head to the side.

"You kicked... my balls." He wheezed out with tears in his eyes. Her eyes went wide.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" She exclaimed as she tried to get from under him.

"I'll be fine. I just... need to stay still for little bit."

"Are you sure you don't need any help? I'm really sorry."

"It's... okay. The pain's already starting to fade." He gave her a reassuring smile. Though she couldn't really see it because his head was turned, she could sort of feel him smiling on her chest. She idly played with his hair while he recovered from the blow. His head wasn't too heavy for her deal with. After a couple minutes, the pain in his balls subsided and Chris lifted his head from Tora and sat on his legs, much to her displeasure.

"Let's not do that again." He said with a little laugh.

"Aww, I wanna play with your hair some more." Tora whined, to which Chris laughed.

"You can play with it again after I finish washing you, okay?" She nodded eagerly. "I won't tickle you this time, so my kids don't have to worry about coming out traumatized." he joked.

"I didn't know you could have kids. Do they come out your butt?"

"You know what I mean, you silly mouse! Now come here so I can wash your back." Tora giggled before she turned around. He got more shampoo proceeded to wash the rest of her furry body. After he finished with her, he got to wash his own body, with the help of Tora washing his back. After he rinsed the soap off, he reached around Tora and pulled the drain plug, releasing the soapy water.

Now came part two if their bath: the ten minute soak. This was the part they enjoyed the most. Sure it was a waste of water, but when you need a good soaking, nothing else really mattered. He refilled the tub with the same amount of water as last time laid on his back so that Tora could play with his hair like he promised. She happily lay on his chest and started playing with his hair, making little twists and spirals wherever possible, occasionally giggling to herself. Chris had his eyes closed the whole time she was playing, letting himself relax in the water. There were a couple light knocks on the door.

"Chris. Tora. Dinner's ready. You two hurry up. You've been in there for half an hour." Marcus called. Chris and Tora groaned a little.

"There goes our fun in the tub. Guess we were in here longer than I thought." Chris said with a laugh.

"Yeah, I guess so. Let me fix your hair before we get out." Tora said with a laugh of her own.

"Alright. Let's hurry before the food gets cold." Tora splashed some water over his head and straightened his hair out the best she could with her paws. They got out the tub and she got her fur brushed before Chris got fully dressed. They exited the bathroom and made their way downstairs to the kitchen with grumbling tummies.

"You two were in there for a while. Did you forget how to bathe?" Marcus joked.

"Hehehe, you could say that." Chris replied.

"Well hurry up and sit down before the food gets cold." Angela instructed. Chris and Tora took their usual places next to each other across from Marcus and Angela. "So, did you enjoy you movie?"

"Yeah, it was really cool. They had two of the champions' pokémon starring in it." Chris replied as he prepared his and Tora's plate.

"Really? That sounds exciting." Marcus commented. "Which two were they?"

"He had his golduck and sandslash."

"That's great. Did you go straight to the park afterwards?"

"We went to get some ice-cream first, and then we headed over to the park." Chris put Tora's plate in front of her. She jumped slightly as she was brought back to reality from her thoughts.

"Thanks." she said gratefully.

"No prob." he responded. "How did your movie go?"

"Oh, it was great! The best one yet!" Angela said excitedly. "It was hilarious when Mairenn..." Chris was starting to tune her out, not to be disrespectful, but he wasn't really interested in those kinds of movies. Tora was pretty much the same way. Marcus once said that she was picking up bad habits from him, but she didn't care as long as those habits were fun. They were mostly silent during dinner, only talking when they were being asked a question or when someone wanted her input on something. Sometimes they would laugh when Angela laughed to keep up the apperance that they were listening .

*****8*****

After dinner, everyone helped clean up the kitchen, then went about their business. Marcus sat in front of the television enjoying a cold beer, Angela went to her room to do some knitting, and Chris and Tora went up to their room to play. They were playing catch with a tennis ball with all the enthusiasm the game required. They threw the ball to each other for nearly half an hour while running around the room before Chris got tired and stopped playing.

"Whew, I'm exhausted. Let's stop before we get all sweaty and have to take another bath." he said while collapsing on the floor. Tora looked over at him without the slightest signs of getting tired.

"You're tired?" She asked in disbelief. "Well I guess you should be. It hasn't been that long since you were released from the hospital."

"Are you trying to say that I've gotten weaker?"

"Well you don't look any stronger."

"That hurt. You cut me real deep just then." Chris said as he looked away sadly. Tora laughed at him.

"Aww, did I hurt your feelings?" Chris nodded, still not looking at her. She knew he was just playing and that one thing would get him out of his funk. She discovered it when she was still a pikachu. She ran up to him and stood on his legs, using his shoulders to keep her balance. She quickly pushed forward and started licking his neck and tickling his ear with the tip of her tail. Chris jerked his head away from her to get away from her tail, but it proved futile since it was as long as his arm. He eventually fell over laughing and flailing around, trying to get away from her constant licking and tickling tail. She let up on her assault after a couple minutes and let Chris calm down.

"You're so lucky you're not a pikachu anymore." Chris said as he got up and sat on his bed.

"Hehehe, Why's that?" She asked as she hopped on the bed as well and sat beside him. He pulled her in for a brief, one-armed hug.

"When you were a pikachu, I could easily pluck you off of me when you did that. Now that you're a raichu, I have to use both hands just to push you off."

"Are you trying to call me fat?" Chris wanted to laugh, but he didn't want to make her upset with him.

"There's no way I would ever think you were fat. You have a perfectly healthy glow about you that attracted others."

"Gee, Chris, are you sure you're not just trying to get out of trouble with me? If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're trying to get at my goods." Tora commented, making Chris blush.

"H-hey! You know I wouldn't try something like that!" he said defensively. Tora laughed at him.

"Relax. I was just kidding! You already tell me those things and always say I look cute all the time."

"That's because you are cute." he said as he scratched behind her ear.

"Am I cuter than any girl in the world?"

"Of course you are. If you weren't, then I'd have to dump you for someone else." he joked.

At this, Tora tackled Chris to his side. It wasn't a hard tackle, but Chris just let her give him whatever punishment she had in mind for that remark. He lay on his back as she crawled up to stand on his chest. "I don't think I heard you right. You said you were gonna dump me if I wasn't cute enough for you?" she asked with a sinister grin.

"Yep. Just toss you to the side like a used, unattractive napkin." Chris replied with a grin of his own.

"Wrong answer." Tora slowly dragged her tail along Chris' leg, releasing a little electricity through the tip. Chris felt his leg muscles tense up and relax rapidly.

"Oh, snap." he thought. "Hey, you don't have to do this. How about I apologize and we call it even?"

"Too late." she replied. "I'm starting to enjoy this now. Maybe if you say 'please' like a good boy, I might consider letting you off." Chris weighed his options. On one hand, he could try and push her off, but risk her shocking him to stay put. On the other hand, he could submit to the electric mouse and look like a total wimp. After a moment of weighing the pros and cons, he came to a decision. He looked in the eyes, took a deep breath, gathered his nerves, and...

"Please, please, please let me go. I'll never say something that stupid ever again. You're the cutest raichu that's ever lived and no other can take your place." Chris thought it was better to swallow your pride and live another day to get revenge, than to get revenge while your body feels numb. Tora stopped torturing his leg and looked as if she were thinking it over.

"I guess that sounds good enough. You're a good boy for saying that." she said with the same sinister grin. She got off his chest to let him sit upright again.

"I think she enjoyed that a little too much." he thought with a sigh. He glanced at his clock and saw that it was well past nine. "Well, as much as I would love to stay and be tortured, I think we should start heading for bed."

"What for? It's still early." the electric mouse complained.

"We're gonna start training tomorrow. We gotta get in tip top shape for when we finally head out next month." he explained. Tora let out happy glee and hugged Chris around his middle.

"That's great, but isn't next month a little soon? Are you sure you're gonna be ready by then?" she asked a bit concerned. Chris simply rubbed her head and smiled.

"I'm sure I'll learn everything I need to know by next month. You're talking about the guy who came out of the hospital running when other guys would just start walking."

"Of course." She thought to herself. "He's always done what he says he's gonna do. I shouldn't doubt him." After that, the two friends played a little more before officially retiring for the night. Tora lay snuggled up to Chris, her back facing him and his arms draped over her belly in a warm embrace. She was excited about tomorrow. It's been a while since the last time they went out to train, even before the hit and run. Thinking about it now, she thought that she's has gotten a bit rusty with her skills and tomorrow will whip her back into shape. She giggled to herself. "I can't wait."

Meanwhile, back in the Johto region, Aaron was led by Ori, his childhood friend, and her two kids, Terra and Evan, into the depths of Mt Silver. This was his first time ever actually being inside the mountain. It was a lot cooler than outside and there was a constant flow of water going through the mountain. There were also a different variety of pokémon inside as well. There were the ever present zubat, with the occasional golbat, gravelers, onix, quagsire, even a misdreavus showed up here and there. They had been walking, flying for Aaron, for nearly fifteen minutes before they had come across a cavern.

"Well, this is it." Ori said proudly. The kids chased each other as they ran inside the cavern. Aaron was impressed by the size of the entrance. It was almost twice as tall as a door to a human house and as wide as three of them put together.

"Wow, nice place." he commented.

"The inside looks even better. Come on."

Aaron followed the pachyderm inside and was immediately blown away by the sight. The walls were smooth and aligned with beams of wood, there were lanterns hung along both walls, and the floor was way smoother than the rest of the mountain. There were two chambers on opposite sides of the wall, one closer the entrance. They didn't have the same decoration as the rest of the cavern and looked as if they were dug out like any other cave. "Whoa..." Aaron said awestruck. Ori giggled at him.

"What do think, Kitty? Pretty nice, right?"

"H-how did you even do this?"

"I didn't." she replied with a smile, which confused the psychic cat. "I'll tell you over dinner. I know you're probably hungry right now." As if on cue, Aaron stomach made a loud grumble.

"Hehe, I guess I am." he said with nervous laugh.

"Good. We've got plenty food here, so don't feel like a stranger." Ori went over to a pile of assorted berries and tossed a couple pecca berries to Aaron using her powerful trunk. He caught them and started to happily munch on one as he sat down. Ori sat down across from him with a small pile of berries of her own.

"So, how did you come to live in this cave?" Aaron asked.

"Well, it was originally a mine that the humans were making. Apparently there were some fossils or something that they wanted, but they were scaring everyone with all the noise they were making, so I took it upon myself to chase them out."

"You chased off a group of humans by yourself?"

"That's right!" she replied proudly. "They resisted a little, but after I took down their stupid machokes and machops, they ran off like a bunch of wimps. They kept coming back every day for a whole week with different pokémon to try and beat me, but I defeated all of them with ease." Aaron was impressed by how strong she's gotten. "Anyway, what's been going on with you? You got a place to stay or are you still a nomad?"

"I got a place to stay. It's a not as big as a mountain, but it's a real nice tree house."

"You live in a tree?!" Ori exclaimed.

"It's not what you think. In fact, after we catch up on everything, I'll show it to you if we still have time before it gets too late."

"I think I've seen plenty of trees in a lifetime to not be impressed by one more." she commented.

"I'm sure you'll be impressed with this one." Aaron said confidently. He heard footsteps behind him and turned around to see a bulbasaur running inside, followed by two tyranitars and an ivysaur.

"Auntie Ori!" the little bulbasaur shouted. He ran past Aaron and went straight to nuzzling Ori.

"Hey, Sho. Did you have fun today?" Ori asked.

"Yeah! A wooper taught me how to swim today!"

"That's great! Wanna play with Evan and Terra? They're just in the back."

"Okay!" Without another word, the young bulbasaur took off toward the back of the cavern. Aaron looked back to the rest if the group. The tyranitar walking next to the ivysaur seemed to be younger than he was. The other one was much older than them, in fact, he looked older than he was. After closer inspection, he saw that the elder rock lizard looked familiar.

"Quake? Is that you?" Aaron asked. The older Tyranitar looked his way. He blinked a couple times to make sure his eyes weren't deceiving him.

"It couldn't be. Aaron?" the rock said in disbelief.

"Yeah, it's me." Aaron got up and flew over to Quake. He seemed happy to see the pink cat after a ten year absence. As he flew closer to Quake, he saw that his face slowly turned from a cheerful one, to an angry one. Before he realized what was going on, he was sent crashing into a wall. Aaron's body slide to the floor and he clutched his chest in pain with both arms. The air was knocked out of his lungs and he struggled to catch his breath. He looked up at Quake looking confused as to what he did wrong.

"Don't look at me like that you little bastard! You know what you did!" the angry rock lizard shouted. Aaron took a moment to think as he was catching his breath to figure out what he was talking about, then it hit him.

"W-wait... you mean... when I left?" he gasped out.

"Damn straight! When Ori told me what happened, I was outright pissed!"

"Guess I was lucky he didn't find me that night." Aaron thought.

"I kept telling myself as the years went by that if you ever came back, I was gonna knock some sense into you! I even told them about it!" Quake said pointing to Ori, the other tyranitar, and the ivysaur.

"It's true. He's been going on and on about it since that day and we pretty much have gotten used to it." Ori said as she munched on a berry.

"You... weren't gonna tell me?!" Aaron exclaimed.

"Sorry, I forgot they were coming over." Aaron regained his composure and levitated a little off the ground.

"So, do you feel any better after doing that?"

"Much better." Quake replied.

Aaron looked over at the second tyranitar and the ivysaur. "So who are they?"

"They are my son, Alann, and his mate, Riko. The bulbasaur you saw is their son, Shoshan. He doesn't like us to call his whole name, so we call him Sho for short." The other tyranitar, Alann, approached the psychic cat. Aaron thought he looks near identical to how Quake looked ten years ago.

"Hey, it's great to finally meet you. We've heard so much about you from Ori and my dad."

"Yes. From what they tell us, you're a really nice guy, but sort of dense at times." Riko, the ivysaur, added. Aaron laughed nervously.

"Well, that's one thing that still hasn't changed about me."

"Don't tell us how much you didn't change over the years! You still have to keep your promise to me and tell me everything you did these past ten years!" Ori exclaimed.

"Oh, right. Um, would you all like to hear this too?" They all nodded in agreement.

With everyone seated in a semi-circle around the psychic cat, he told his life story from the day he left on his own. He told them about all his worldly travels, the pokémon he's met and befriended, and what the legendaries were like. Apparently, his descriptions of the legendaries were not at all what they imagined. They thought they would be powerful, almighty beings that controlled everything that happened in the world and were serious at all times, but from what Aaron told them, they seemed... normal. They had their good days, bad days, and personal problems that any other pokémon would have in their life.

The most interesting part to them was when he told them about the lake trio in the Sinnoh region. He told them about how childish Mesprite was, how forward Azelf can get, and how mature Uxie was, despite her childish tendencies. He told them about the pranks they'd play on the humans every once in a while. They seemed to like Azelf a lot because he has a crush on Aaron and, after a lot of pressure, told them that he mated with the blue psychic. This earned him a few stares, followed by a roll of laughter. Even Quake was laughing uncontrollably at him.

After of few minutes of embarrassing comments and questions, Aaron moved the story forward to other recent events. He went over how he met Tora and the times he spent with her and her family, also the time he saved her from a nidoking. Needless to say, they were impressed by his heroic deed. By the time he had finished his tale, it was late and the kids had long since fallen asleep.

"Wow, you had all kinds of fun without us." Ori commented.

"Yeah. You seem to be doing pretty well on your own." Quake added. Alann and Riko nodded in agreement. "Well, it's gotten pretty late. I think I should head home." Quake got up with a big yawn and stretched his muscles.

"You don't have to leave. Why don't you just stay here for the night?" The grey pachyderm suggested.

"That's nice and all, but I didn't expect to stay so late and to meet an old friend. Besides, I'm sure my mate is wondering where I am right now. I'll stop by with her tomorrow."

"Okay then. See ya tomorrow." The elder rock lizard left the cavern. Ori turned to the two mates. "Are you guys gonna leave too?" Alann and Riko looked at each other for a moment before turning to Ori.

"Nah, we'll kick it here for tonight. No need to carry Sho all the way back home when he's already sleeping." Alann replied.

"Do you mind if we take the other room?" Riko asked.

"No, go right ahead. I want to talk with Aaron a little more." Almost too quickly, the two lovers made their way into the unoccupied room in the back. Aaron let out a big yawn and stretched. "I hope you're not too tired for a little midnight stroll." Ori said as she got up and stretched as well.

"A midnight stroll? Where are we going?"

"We're going to see my hubby. He goes on patrol in the evenings to watch for humans who wander around too close to us. He doesn't want to wake up one morning and have his family missing. Besides, I don't think you want to stay around here for too much longer. Those two can get a little... intimate when they're left alone long enough." Sure enough, Aaron could faintly smell what she was talking about

"What about the kids?"

"They'll be fine. An earthquake couldn't wake them up from their sleep. I'm sure a little passionate love making won't disturb them too much." she replied with a little grin. Aaron simply shrugged his shoulders.

"If you say so. Let's get going then."
