I am starting a story series called The Universal Tournament. Raz finds himself in the middle of this tournament and wants no part, but may not have a choice. (Note: this series may utilize characters from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Anime, Comics, and many others. Open to suggestions as to who will fight in this tournament.)

Razial Drakken awoke to the sound of machinery in the background but could not comprehend the source. His eyes took a minute to adjust to the darkness, and he felt himself laying on a hard surface similar to stone, but harder and colder. The only illumination filtered in through a small slit on the opposite side of the room, but even that offered no assistance. The ominous feeling of loneliness threatened to take him over.

Razial tried to sit up, hitting his head on the hard surface above him, causing him to gasp out in pain. He held his head for a second before carefully getting up out of the rack, or whatever it was that he found himself laying on. After a few moments, Razial tried to breathe out fire for better lighting only to find it lacking. "What in the hell is this?" Razial said, confused and disturbed by the absence of his internal flame.

"Ah, I see you're awake. As you have noticed, your fire does not work. Don't worry. You will have your fire back when battling in the arena. For now, my stationary field should keep you under control," said the voice from somewhere above Razial.

"Who the hell are you? Release me, now," Razial demanded, his voice radiating with anger.

"Tsk, tsk. Now, is that any way to treat your host. After all, our spectators have never seen a humanoid dragon before, so you should be proud to be part of The Universal Tournament," the voice said as Razial's anger rose.

"I am not a puppet for someone's amusement. You underestimate the powers of a dragon of Dragos," Razial said as he charged the slit and kicked hard at the space below it. His foot made contact. Instead of kicking through, a surge of electricity raced up his body, giving Razial a highly charged zap. Razial fell to his knees, his scales sizzling as pain lanced across his body.

"Now, do you understand? You have no choice. You fight or die," said the voice that dripped with malice.

"Fine, kill me then. I will not cooperate," Razial said as the voice laughed.

"Oh, no. We can't have that. Perhaps a little persuasion is needed. You remember your twin brother, Mazial. He is my honored guest," the voice said as a mirrored image appeared before Razial, his brother looked identical with red back scales, horns, wings, everything except for the front. Mazial had black scales, whereas Razial had yellow. Mazial was hanging from chains somewhere, and it looked as if his garments were in tatters with cuts and bruises across his body.

Razial looked at his brother for the longest time, weighing his options. Whoever this voice was would pay for this impudence and soon. However, he needed to be patient and save his brother first. If they were able to take him and his brother, who else did they take? He did not know for sure. The only thing that matter was playing along for now. Razial looked up and said, "Fine. I'll do it."
