New Story I'm working on for a friend
Story I am writing about a friends Fursonia :)
Three full moons lit the star filled sky as Saw looked down in to the cautiously across the meadow. She had made this journey many times before from her village to bring back water for the rest of her clan. As she stepped out in to the meadow her ears perked up to listen for threats but the only thing she could hear was the wind gently rustling through the leaves on the ground. She picked up her jugs of water and began to slowly sneak her way across the meadow. It had been several weeks since she had made this trip and it had gotten later on in the season and was starting to turn cold. Thankfully her winter coat was starting to come in and would keep the chill at bay. She stopped about midway through the meadow and sat down upon a rock to rest for a moment. Thoughts of what she herd her village elders speaking of passed through her mind. Her clan was having issues with a neighboring clan of Nightstalkers, a clan of bipedal sentient wolves who's lust for power and territory rival that of many of the shadowlands unfriendly guilds. As she reached down to pick up her jugs of water her suddenly the sound of a twig snapping could be heard. She spun around to find herself staring right down the maw of a nightstalker shadow knight fully clad in dark iron mail with his blade drawn.
"Well, well what do we have here. A little Dragon Goat out for a stroll in the woods all by her lonesome? Did you happen to be bringing that water all the way here for me?", The knight said as he started to advance on Saw with his blade drawn. You could see the snarl curling across his muzzle as he approached. Saw knew this was no time to try and negotiate. She quickly grabbed one of the jugs and threw it in to the nightstalker's face momentarily blinding him as he tried to wipe his eyes dry. Saw broke in to a run on all fours as fast as she could run, she knew her village was just on the other side of the meadow. As her heart was racing she could hear the nightstalker behind her give chase. As she sprinted across the meadow the nightstalker over took her and pulled her to the ground pinning her and placing his blade against her neck.
"Just where do you think you are going little one? You thought your little stunt would let you escape, I think not Now I'm gonna make you pay for getting me all wet. Saw cringed as she watched the knight draw back his blade to strike her when suddenly she heard something swish through the air. The knight screamed out in pain ad blood dripped down his muzzle. He slumped over to the side of Saw with a poison tipped arrow sticking out of his forehead. As she looked up she saw a familiar face staring down at her, it was her fellow clan mate and friend Zadox.
"Thank goodness it is you Z, I thought I was a goner." Saw stated as she got up off the forest floor and wrapped her arms around Z.
"If I were just another minuet late things might have been different, it's not safe out here Saw lets get back to the village and let the elders know what transpired. These attacks are starting to become more and more frequent, it's just not safe outside the walls that surround our home anymore." Z stated as they picked up the remaining jugs of water and headed off in to the night towards their village. As the disappeared over the ridge a low guttural growl could be heard coming from the knight body, he wasn't dead. He grabbed the arrow by the shaft and pulled it out of his forehead while wincing in pain.
You and your little friend may have gotten away but I will have my revenge the knight thought to himself as he wiped his paw across the wound in his temple. What doesn't kill me make me angrier, I will get you and your friend for what you have done to me. He staggered up and reached down to pick up his blade then he staggered off in to shadows on the way back to let his pack know what had happened that night..
