#3 of Dra-Kun

Forever shall time pass in the universe. Never changing is the only constant that exists. No creature can change it, Nor can they transfer themselves though it. None can see the true future, None can escape the past. What is seen as time is merely the perception given to those who see it. For none can perceive the full scope of time itself, Not even the Plainswalkers.

The Binds Broken

Through the forest a figure moved rapidly. Paws striking the ground in a rhythm that could only be matched by the beats of its own heart. As the heart beat in time with the paws impact the creature sped along an unknown path, One never traveled before. Its mind sought but to protect itself.

A mind consumed by strange powers, Its life forever changed to that of a beast by those who sought to destroy all that he was. Fear, All that this mind could feel at this time, Fear without knowledge of what he used to be. Though the trees his paws beat down the path, Ears lay flat to his head, Running from the pain he feared.

A flash of light split the air. The air cleared out of a small space that failed to hold it in. Pain that was feared had taken him, The pain he fled from could not be escaped this time, For his time had come. His world rotated and rolled around him, His paws no longer in contact with the ground. Darkness started to consume the world, The end was near as he finely lay motionless on the ground. A voice came to his ears, A voice that brought both fear and comfort, For this voice was that of the bringer of the end.

"Forgive me brother wolf..." a bright figure said as he kneeled beside the wolf. Reaching out with his hand, "I can take the pain away, You can continue to live..." The hand stopped inches from his nose, Letting the wolf take in the scent of the bringer of the end. "Allow me to house your spirit... Let yourself join with me" His words confused the wolf. This stranger had asked to take his spirit, That which gave him life.

A whimper arose from the wolf, One of fear. He feared the end, He did not want to die, But how could one who brought about pain save him. To take his spirit would bring death to the wolf, But as the darkness took his vision he knew death was coming. He looked to the hand that sat but a few inches away, He felt an energy from the hand, One that brought comfort rather than pain. As darkness continued to take the wolf he came to a decision.

Dra-Kun felt the muzzle of the wolf press against his hand. The wolf had chosen to allow himself to be taken, To be freed of his mortal coils, To become a true spirit. He focused his mind onto that of the wolf, Sensing the magic of the Immortal beings that plagued his world. The wolves mind had been altered to the will of these beings, Bent to there will of being the dominant species of this world.

"Let yourself free my brother... I will protect you till my end... I ask but your strength to help our people... Help our home" he spoke to the wolf, Feeling his life grow closer to its final moments. Dra-Kun focused his mind once again, Releasing an energy into the wolf. As the energy passed over the wolf his body grew cold, His spirit flowing into Dra-Kun. The wolf had let go and accepted the dragonic creatures offer.

As the last of the energy passed into Dra-Kun the wolves body took one final breath. A new energy came over the Dragonic Wolf, One that he felt a number of times now. He felt the power of the wolf join with his, His consciousness joining that of those who have fallen before. The spirit was at peace, Forming an unbreakable bond with Dra-Kun. With him until the end of Dra-Kuns life.

Dra-Kun rose from the fallen wolf, He saved the wolf from a fate far worse than living within him as a spiritual guardian. Dra-Kun had taken several such wolves spirits into him, From what he could tell they where all from a single pack. A pack that was once as intelligent as the Wolfen tribes that where forced from these lands.

The Immortals had taken this land by force. The Wolfen tribes had ether been destroyed, Escaped, Or had been captured and turned into this feral form. Never again capable of joining their brothers again.

Dra-Kun looked around again, Before returning his hood to cover his head again, Hiding his face form the one who had slain the wolf. He was deep in enemy territory, Searching for a single object. One said to be of the ancient magic that created the Wolfen people that where natives to this planet. A power said to be far more powerful than the vary Immortals that called themselves gods.

These false gods had banished the father of the Wolfen people deep into the earth. Fenrir was bbound with magic to contain his powers, To prevent him from protecting his children. Fenrir was rendered powerless as his lunar mana was sealed within him until such time as his bindings where broken.

Dra-Kun sought this place the father of the Wolfen tribes was bound. Not to attempt to free him, Or to try and destroy the ancient being. His only reason was to meet with one of Fenrir's children, Sköll. Sköll would show himself at the place of his fathers tomb every day as dusk took The circle of stones.

Hours passed as he walked, Slowly making his way to the ancient stone circle. Though not alone he was left to his walk. He showed not knowledge of the figure stalking him from the shadows. His path was straight and true, Knowing he would soon be at the place he sought. The tall grasses had blocked his vision of the land in front of him, He could only follow the strong energy that radiated from the ancient place.

The grass parted before him, Opening to a large field of short grass. None kept this land but the grass could grow no taller due to the amount of power that rested in this place. Energy from a source of mana, One that did not promote life or death. The grass was held at bay by natural energy, An energy that kept the balance between life and death. At the center of this field of low lying grass was a structure far older than any that lived in these lands.

Grey stones stood far taller than the Dragonic visitor as he walked into there midst. Five stones stood at the center, Rising high above the rest. Each with a carving of an ancient power, The five sources of mana. Dra-Kun walked to the center, A stone table rested in the center of a pentagram carved into the stone floor. This pentagon table was the place the young Dragonic Plainswalker sought.

As he stood silently the shadow that had followed him to this sacred place moved about. It did not take long for it to reach what it sought. It silently crept closer to the lone dragonic creature, Preparing for its chance to attack. When the time came it sprung into action.

As Dra-Kun stood in an almost prayer for those that where lost in this place, The shadow creature launched its attack. A single stripe of white light flashed across the central area of the stone structure. Dra-Kun turning to face the shadow creature raising his hand to the white light, "Refract" He chanted out, An energy flowing out of his hand.

The energy released from Dra-Kun sped forward contacting with the light energy let loose by the shadow. Surrounding it in an instant, The beam of bright energy split into several beams of light. Each of different color flowing out and impacting with the five large stones around the pair of magic users. The energy absorbed into the stones as Dra-Kun spoke again. "You seek to defile this sacred place with the blood of a dragon..." His voice loud and commanding. His hand still raised to the shadow creature.

A hiss erupted from the shadow beast, Its attack was useless, "You defilesss the landsss of the godsss". It was preparing another spell in its hands, Taking only but a moment to produce another ball of white energy. Hissing again as it released the attack "Refract thisss". Several streams of white energy spread for the shadows outstretched hands.

Dra-Kun launched himself into the air, Unfolding his wings to gain height. The white energy moved to follow its target, But at a slower pace. Dra-Kun raising a hand above him gathering a ball of energy himself, While looking down as the five streams again came together. Though not connected as they looked, They where in essence one. Dra-Kun reached the peak of his jump, Chanting another spell "Wall of shadows" His hand now facing the oncoming projectiles. As he fell back to the ground towards the deadly streams of energy, A shadow erupted from his down stretched hand. The shadow forming a barrier between him and the attacking spell. The five streams connecting with the shadow wall and being absorbed before the barrier dispersed itself.

Dra-Kun landing on the stone table, His fur covered wings spread out to the side allowing him to land softly. His voice rasing to the shadow creature "You think simple spells can harm a Dragonic mage... I have deflected far more deadly attacks than you could ever muster" Dra-Kun spoke true. At a young age he himself was deflecting the attacks of adult Dragonic mages as part of his training.

The shadow hissed out again, Not a word understandable as it cursed the Dragonic creature before it. Raising both hands to the sky it prepared another spell, But it would have no chance as dra-Kun spoke again "Not this time... Its my turn" His hands dropping to the stone table as he chanted another spell "Rendering spring".

No sooner did the shadow creature release its spell than a single stream of water rise out of the cracked stone. This stream of water rose up striking the creature, It screaming in pain as its flesh was cleaved across its right arm. Though not separating the limb from the body, But doing enough damage to cause pain, and create a path for the next attack to follow. A Bolt of lightning fell from the sky, Meant for the stone table. As the creator of the lightning had lost concentration the energy sought the shortest yet easiest path to the ground. Following the thin stream of water through the Shadow creatures arm, Burning what ever lay in its path.

A screech sounded from the Shadow as its arm was burned off just below the joint from its own attack. A stub of burnt flesh remained behind after the lightning darkened once again. The creature dropped to its knees, Its left arm reaching over to seek its right, Only to find the ashes that crushed to its pain induced grip.

As Dra-Kun watched the creatures own attack turned against it he prepared for the final strike, This battle needed to end soon for his meeting to take place. In his half kneeling position he raised both hands to face his opponent. A red energy rose out of the stones around him, Being of the far mountains they held the energy of the mountains. This red light gathered at Dra-Kuns hands, His final chanted spell "Barb of fire". The energy formed a single long cone, Before finely launching itself at its target.

The Shadow looked up at the Dragonic mage as the cone of fire flew at it, The final words heard by the beast "You know not the true power of mana... Human Shadow" Its eyes opening wide as the fire cone entered its chest, Piercing its heart and ending its exitance as it imploded in a cloud of black blood.

As the beast burst into a black cloud Dra-Kun stood, Looking over the ancient structure, Ensuring nothing had been damaged by the short battle. Stepping down from the stone table thinking to himself about this creature, The third and weakest one he has faced yet. He knew who they swore to, For they where magic beings brought to life to ravage the land. They had once been human, But by the hand of those they had worshiped been warped into these heartless creatures.

Dra-Kun stood still as he looked to the symbol he stood upon. A curving ball of fire, The sign of the mana of fire, His home clans primary elemental affinity. Among the mountain clans where different secondary elemental affinities. His individual clan, Among being the home of the consul, Was the home of the Metallic dragons.

Though the red Dragonic clan had some of the strongest members, Though their scale strength was nothing compared to the metallic Dragonic of Dra-Kuns clan. His fur was that of the metal platinum, Acting like scales themselves over the tiny scales that covered his body under the fur.

As he stood another figure approached the stone table, Seeing the black on the ground a short distance before the Dragonic Wolf that stood on the fire mana symbol. He remained silent for a moment more before speaking out to Dra-Kun "A desecration of this sacred ground... The element of fire is wielded by the dragon... Yet the element of water held by the Wolfen... To see one wield both as you have is rare to see... Dragonic Wolf".

The voice rose up behind Dra-Kun, Showing it was quite knowledgeable of current events in the world. Dra-Kun knew who had spoke, The one Dra-Kun had come to this place to meet. Without turning around he spoke respectfully "Sköll... Son of Father Fenrir... Guardian of the elemental Stonehenge" He said before turning around to the great wolf. A light bow of his head "I am Dra-Kun... And i have come to this place to speak with you" His eyes looked to the great wolf at this time. He spoke no other words for the moment, Letting the wolf deity speak.

The dark wolf stood before the stone table. Unlike his descendents the great wolf stood on four paws. His dark fur meshed well with the dark grey stone that surrounded them. The glow of his eyes pierced the darkness as it grew, Joined by that of the Dragonic Wolf while standing at the same level with the other.

Sköll looked over the Dragonic visitor, Having heard of this Dra-Kun, Though never having met the powerful Dragonic mage. "You have come far... Alone into the lands of our enemy... And you have shown to have the strength to keep yourself safe" His paws stepping forward around the stone table. "Why do you seek the son of Fenrir... Dragon kin" His voice almost reaching a growl. A test for the young mage, To see how well he handled himself. As well to seek if he could be trusted.

Dra-Kun stood his ground. Not fearing the great wolf, For he gave no reason to consider breaking the trust he offered. He watched as the great wolf walked around the stone table, Each watching the others every move. "I seek the one who knows of the bindings holding the Father of the Wolfen tribes, Your father Fenrir" He held himself strong. He would never show weakness to any, Least of all to one he sought to be allies with. "I seek knowledge of those bindings... To assist in freeing this world from the grips of the Immortals" He would have nothing more to say as this is all that would be needed. He spoke the truth, Even if he was face to face with the one calling himself Odin, The king of the so called Immortals.

As Sköll circled the stone and Dra-Kun's voice echoed off the outer stones "The bindings of my father... That which was made to never break... Trapping my father in the depths of this sacred place" Watching the expression changes in Dra-Kun. Seeing none showing he knew what the great wolf spoke about he continued, "That which you seek lay hidden within the Wolfen kind, That which we cannot control... That which will flow through you from your spirit... When the moon rises over the sacred grounds you seek" His poke the only way he could explain it with the information he had been given.

This Dra-Kun knew, He knew the legends well. He had studied them in depth up until the time of Fenrir's binding. The lunar energy flowed through every Wolfen that had ever existed. It was first brought forth from the planet to form the Wolfen species. Drawn forth by Fenrir himself who took the secret of its location to his prison to protect it from the Immortals. Though the legends spoke of those who sought it in vain, Never returning from their quest. This did not ever stifle Dra-Kuns search.

Dra-Kun reached his hand forward placing it on the stone. Feeling the energy that flowed through this place. Something felt strange to him, Another living creature in the area. His hand resting on the symbol of water, He raised his voice to the stalker, "No more blood is to shed over this sacred ground... Your kind struck first with disregard for the pact between our forces... Do not make the same mistake Human Shadow..." His voice dropping off into the darkness.

He remained in place as the Shadow emerged from the darkness. Sköll Let loose a warning growl, Letting the creature know he was not welcome. The Shadow raised it clawed hands, In a manner to emphasize it meant no harm "I am not like that which would break the pact of this sacred ground" These creatures where of neither male nor female. They where beings created from the torture of human spirits by the cruel Immortals. Though bound to the will of their creators, They held an intelligence all their own. "I come to pass a message from my makers... Render yourselves to our will and you will be left alive... Though you are safe in this place, You are not under pact protection the moment you leave these stones" It spoke out its threat.

Both Sköll and Dra-Kun growled to this creatures words. There answer would pass without words from them, Though they would not harm the creature while it stood in the confines of the stone circle. It would be seen as three factions meeting, But it had already become two. Both Dra-Kun and Sköll knew they would be of help to the other, And with only a look had all but signed an alliance.

The creature hearing the combined growl let out a light hiss as it backed off into the darkness again, Seeing it was not welcome. As it left the two looked to each other, A single thought within their eyes. Freedom for Fenrir and the destruction of the Immortals.

Dra-Kun turned to face the center of the stone, Already knowing what the cryptic words of the ancient legends spoke needed to be done. His voice rising to recant many of the tales that where translated to his kind from the stones he stood within. His voice sounding much like an ancient story teller, "Fire... Water... Earth... Darkness... Light... That which shapes the universe converge together...".

As he spoke the names of the elements the symbols on the floor lit up in there respective colors. The energy rising high above the stone table. Sköll stood back knowing he could not wield the five base elements as Dra-Kun could. His elemental alignment would allow but few. That capable of of bringing darkness to the worlds.

Above the stone table the energy combined to form a silver light. Shining bright enough to light up the entire stone structure. Dra-Kun continued to chant "Chromatic... Metallic... Crystal... Solar... Lunar..." As he spoke these words a light came from the stones that surrounded the central stone table. The planetary elements that allowed the life of this world to survive. "Forevermore binds of the world of Asgard..." His voice almost dieing out as he spoke the name given to him from the dream he had in his egg.

The five lights forming together to a pentagon around the silver light hovering over the stone table. After a moment as Sköll now stood across from Dra-Kun the great wolf joined in, Knowing what it was that Dra-Kun sought, "Of this our life rises... Of this that makes the runes of our world... Of the ruins of this world..." Adding his energy to the calling.

The pentagon started to shift from just a single layer. Becoming a physical shape, Forming around like the planet. Almost a sphere though surfaces of pentagons. This shape smoothed out to form the world. Several bright points each of different color showing the points of power. Each of which shown the location of the ancient tribes of the Wolfen elemental ancestors.

Dra-Kun knew these locations well, Though not having ever seen them himself. Though he did not need to, For each of the five elements he had gained the affinity for already. Dra-Kun looked upon the energy map before speaking "Elemental alignment to my clans grounds, Granting me access to the five base elements of the universe" He pointed to a single point that rested at the center of the pentagram made by the points of elemental power. "The others to be granted from the universe... One of which is this worlds creation... Lunar mana... That which Father Fenrir holds... And that which can bring about his freedom" Though not chanting, The words still held meaning.

Dra-Kun stepped back from the stone table, Revealing the light before him on the tables surface. A faint blue light shown from the symbol on the table. The others following suit, Showing in the same pattern as the symbols on the ground. Sköll could see this, And knew this for much time. The great wolf doing the same as Dra-Kun.

The five points on the table slowly growing stronger as the energy from the ground grew weaker. The light grew stronger to the point it drowned out all others in the area. Though the night was young the moon had rested full at the center of the sky above the stone circle. For one night a year this alignment would occur, Granting a new light to the sacred stones.

On the surface of the stone table the light of the five elements shifted and formed into a single circle. The colors combining into a single illumination. the circle of the table reflected the light given off the moon, "Platinum" Dra-Kun spoke. The only way to explain the color given off the stone table.

At this moment Sköll spoke up, "The balance of our world has been diminished by those that seek to seal the powers that have built this world... Another must take up the charge of this element... Though it cannot be one of our world... The balance of our world must be regained..." His eyes locked onto Dra-Kun. This is what Dra-Kun had sought, Deep in the lands of the enemy, Where the only other creature to have held the balance was bound. Dra-Kun stepped forward, His blood having come from both this planet, And its sister world.

His existence was to bring about balance, And to eventually bring the universe to a new beginning along side his ancient brothers, The Plainswalkers.

He stepped into reach of the table, The energy given off by the moons light rising to form a strange shape hovering above the table. Though a complete sphere, It could be seen through, Having a crescent moon at its center, Facing to the lower right. He reached his right had slowly forward as he continued to approach the table.

His hand stopped but an inch from contact. He felt the great power emanating from the sphere. He had never joined with a element in this way. Having hatched with the five base elements affiliated to him, He had never had to connect with a mana source.

His mouth opened almost chanting "Lunar Mana shall light the night and break the bindings of this world". A bright light consumed the entire stone structure as his hand made contact. The mana entering him, Rising his body up and over the top of the stone table. He was almost frozen in a standing position with his head tilted up, His arms held slightly out at his sides. The light consumed his body, Forming ancient Runes over his entire body. Unreadable as the runes where they also connected together in a Tribal pattern. Right matching left as they sealed themselves to Dra-Kuns platinum fur. The dark Runes appearing as if they had always been part of his form.

As another creature walked into the stone circle Dra-Kun was lowered to the stone table. He stood as the last remnants of the energy sealed itself within Dra-Kun. His head hung low as he spoke, "The ancient mana of the Wolfen world has returned to balance..." He spoke, In a dark tone that seemed not his own.

Another voice rose in the darkness that now filled the sacred stones, "The binds of existence will break as darkness consumes the day, And light absorbs the night" The lighter great wolf spoke. His name yet unspoken in these grounds. "One to consume the day, The other to consume the night" The voice spoke again "Sköll to consume the sun..." He stopped as another finished the phrase.

"Hati to consume the moon" Sköll spoke in cooperation with his brother, Before both finishing the ancient legend. "Ragnarök shall come at the balance by the universes child rises" Both great wolves spoke, Raising their heads to the moon above as it grew darker.

Dra-Kuns eyes still looked low as he started to speak. He spoke words that none have heard uttered "Am Anfang war die Finsternis... Midnight" The ancient language of the dragons. He then spoke it in the Wolfen tongue to consecrate the new age. "At the Beginning there was Darkness.... Midnight" When he spoke the final word darkness consumed everything. A few moments later the three spoke almost of one voice "Ragnarök" Twilight rose to cover the land. Neither light nor dark, The time to break the bindings, And the new war for this world.

Dra-Kun lifted his gaze, Locking to the dual gazes of the sibling great wolves. Dra-Kuns eyes glowing the color of his fur, Surrounded by the black that was his shared feature with Wolfen species. The symbols covering his body began to light up, Energy slowly flowing over his body. His right hand raised level with his chest, While his left came to rest before his eyes, All the energy forming on and between his hands. Soon the energy stated to form a staff, Rising up above him a short ways, While most ended but half a foot from the ground. As it solidified into the staff given to him by Bahamut, He began to chant again, "Earth shall be riven and the over-heaven shall be rendered" Lowering his staff with great force to the stone table below him. "A Wolf Age... A Dragon age... Deine Welt... I release to you... Your World" As the staff contacted the stone a massive energy wave spread out from his staff, As it was planted at the center of the pentagon table.

Five cracks split the stone table, Each lining up with the elemental markings. A pentagram formed around Dra-Kun on the stone surface. He started to rise off the stone again, Under his own power he opened the way for the being within to return to his world. The ground shook, Cracks falling from the table to the floor and out to finally turn to form a pentagon within the standing stones.

Both great wolves kept outside the cracked symbol that had formed. Not a pentagram, But five lines to the points of the outer pentagon. Dra-Kuns voice rose from the silence, "Let binds be broken... Let the keepers of balance arise and let the universe again become one" His words where followed by a great howl from deep within the earth.

The ground itself shook with the power behind the voice of the greatest of all the wolves, The Father of the Wolfen. The sections of rendered stone burst forth from the ground. Flying out of the sacred stone circle. Dra-Kun well out of the way of the stone fragments that where the cell walls to the Great Wolf himself. A dust like fog covered the area from the expulsion.

As the dust settled a figure stood in the center. Standing far larger than any of the other three. His shoulders level at over three meters off the ground. A great and powerful head rested upon the muscular neck, All of which was covered in a deep gray. The almost black gray of the fur was smooth, Even having been locked away within stone walls for well over two hundred years. The great father of the wolves stood his place under the Dragonic Wolfen who had released him.

A growl rose from his throat, That soon turned into a howl to all the wolves of the world. His return had finally been fulfilled as he lowered the earth shaking howl. His deep voice echoing through the air, "Plainswalker... You have finally arrived... And you have fulfilled your ancient predecessors promise... What is your name?" His head looked off through the darkness to the place Dra-Kun was coming to the ground again.

As his paws finally rest on the ground he spoke up, Looking straight to the golden eyes before him "I am Dra-Kun Lupus Animarum... Of the Dragonic Clans... Father Fenrir" His voice quieted after finishing. His head held high, While the sons of Fenrir each bowed their heads to there father. Dra-Kun knew he bowed to none, For he was a being of the universe, Not of a single world. Fenrir himself lowered his head in respect to Dra-Kun.

Dra-Kun spoke up again, "Schwarz Sonne am Runen über Asgard" A light coming over the land like the rising sun out of the east. The twilight would last till the last Immortal invaders blood was spilled on the land, Giving their lives to regenerate the planet.

As the dark light rose over the ruins four figures emerged, Dra-Kun at the lead with Fenrir and his sons behind. The time has come for the greatest war this world has ever known, The war for the balance of the world.

"You may bind me here... But i assure you... I will be the one to end your life for the atrocities you have committed on my people... My World... The time of Ragnarök shall come and you shall be consumed as you have consumed my father before me... I shall return with the Black Sun in the ruins of Asgard..."

Fenrir's final words before being bound in the ruins of Asgard.
