#3 of Spyro's Growing Up.

Chapter three. Sorry about the short chapters, I can't find the time to write longer ones. If you are not old enough to read this then please turn back now or lock your door. For those of you who are looking for a quick, no-commitments hardcore yiff scene, you may be dissapointed. I like to put in a little background first.

'Hay Ember!'

Ember's head snapped up at the sound of her name being called out by a familiar voice. She jumped to her feet and made to run away, but Spyro called out 'It's OK! I'm decent.'

She turned to face Spyro as he walked towards her, tears shining in her blazing eyes. As he stood a mere two feet away, staring at his feet he said 'Don't go, I just wanna talk about what's been happenin' recently.'

She tried to sneer, but failed miserably as she hiccoughed.

'W-what makes you th-think I want t-to talk to y-you!' she said, her voice cracking badly and desperately trying to hold back tears.

He looked up, and purple eyes met pink. He said 'I wanted to say sorry for the other day, I was mean.'

And with that, she threw herself upon him, sobbing uncontrollably onto his shoulder. He had been expecting this, but was still a little stunned, and resisted the urge to jump back. He lifted a forepaw to pat the back of her head.

'O-oh, it's was just so scary...a-and you were s-so m-mad! And then I thought that I never thanked you f-for saving me out of th-that fire! And what if I could never talk to you again!! I could n-never tell you I l-liked you....'

She sobbed for a moment more, and then realised that Spyro had stopped patting her, and was staring out over the lake, with a far-away expression on his face.

'Spyro?' she asked, wiping her snout on her forepaw and stepping back.

'You...like me?' he said, stunned.

'Of course!' she said, regaining a little of her cheeriness, 'Couldn't you tell?'

He shook his head slowly, comprehension dawning. 'She likes me!', his brain roared.

'E....Ember?' he said, slowly and haltingly.

'Yes, Spyro?' she whispered back, stepping closer, so close he could count the ridges on her horns.

'I.....I like you too.'

With that, she stepped even closer, so close he could count the ridges of his own horns, reflected in her eyes.

'Spyro, I never thanked you for saving m-' and at that she was cut off, as Spyro stepped in to deliver their first and most passionate kiss.

Neither had any idea what they were doing, so it was a rather sloppy affair, and they decided non-verbally to keep tongues out of it for now, though it would be a lie to say that they didn't have fun.

Walking past, Sapphire saw the two dragons by the lake. With a slight grin on her face, she turned away and moved off, not wanting to intrude. She was on her way to find Nimbus, whom she had had great fun in tormenting ever since Spyro had told her that he had had growing pains for a single day.

The two young dragons were lost in sheer bliss, both thinking that they had to do this more often with the other.

As they broke apart, after a seemingly endless eternity, they looked at each other for a moment before grinning and looking away.

It was Spyro who broke the silence, saying 'Well, that was fun', to which Ember replied with an enthusiastic nod.

'So do you..ummm...do you like..err..' Spyro stuttered, trying and failing to find a subject to talk about.

Ember came to his rescue, saying 'Will you walk me home?'

As the two dragons arrived at Ember's house, a hollowed out tree trunk which she had decorated herself, they immediately stopped their conversation about the school fire conspiracy theory. Because Ember's house no longer resembled a tree trunk as a.....well, fallen tree trunk. It had fallen from it's upright position, and there was a blackened streak across it's base.

'It must have been struck by lightning...' said Spyro, already knowing what to say next.

'My house!', cried Ember, 'Where will I go now?'

Spyro, shaking with nerves, took a deep breath and said 'Would you like to spend the night at my cave?'
