"How does this one look?" Jaid asked as she held a black dress up to herself while posing in front of a large mirror that dominated the wall beside the open closet. Ruul was standing beside her, looking over her and the ensemble she was trying to show off.

His eyes admired her form and the interesting clothing as he imagined it on her. It was a glimmering thing with black glass jewels embedded across its exterior that would catch the light and sparkle like the stars on a cloudless night. In all, he gave a slight grimace and stroked lightly at the underside of his chin.

"It doesn't really match with the tux that you picked out. I could change it if you want..." he let the suggestion linger but the mink frowned and furrowed her brow.

"No way! Getting something that fits you each time you come to Earth is a pain in the ass. Maybe if you chose the same form each time..." she said, letting her own suggestion linger in the air before she turned back and looked in the mirror once more.

Ruul smirked and folded his arms over his chest. "I just might with this one. Seems to be a body that suits my personality," he remarked and held out one arm to the side and curled it, making the pumpkin sized bicep swell. Jaid giggled and looked at him from the side. The large husky wasn't wearing any clothing, unlike the mink who was in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.

"I like it too. Gives me more to cuddle," she stated and turned back to scrutinize the dress. She eventually sighed, mentally agreeing with her lover and tossed the thing on the pile of other dresses that had been rejected. She had access to a massive wardrobe and a supply of money that allowed her to get anything that she wanted, but now it seemed to be too much. She thought she had a better eye than this.

In her moments of silent sulking, the husky stepped closer and gently took her by the shoulders. Jaid was turned to face him and his massive paws cupped her cheeks and he leaned in to kiss her. The warmth that radiated through her was soothing and delightful. She leaned into the embrace and for the moment she completely forgot about the dress.

When the two finally separated, the dog god smiled lovingly. "Maybe we shouldn't go this time. We could stay in and watch scary movies instead," he suggested.

"We have a lot of clientele that are looking forward to seeing us. Business partners and associates too, we really shouldn't skip it," Jaid said back and stroked her paws down his sides.

"I would rather sell off everything that I have and start anew elsewhere than see you upset another moment longer," he rumbled and leaned in to brush his nose against her forehead. The sentiment made Jaid giggle more and lean against his chest.

"You're too good to me, Ruul. I don't know whatever I did to deserve you," said happily.

"You have it backwards, my dearest," he replied softly and wrapped his powerful arms around her. The mink took a deep breath of him and held it before exhaling in a content sigh. Then she leaned back and peered up at him.

"Just one more dress. If we don't end up agreeing with it, then we won't have to go to the masquerade," she said and beamed. The husky smiled as well and nodded while gazing into her eyes. They drew apart and the mink vanished into the depths of the huge, walk-in closet. Ruul watched after her for a moment, the sounds of plastic hangers clinking against one another soon spilling out as she rifled through her options.

He turned away from the open door and meandered over to a dresser that contained his own clothing, for the rare times that he went out in public and was required to wear something. On the top of it was a white plastic mask measured to fit perfectly over his muzzle with darkened eye holes to conceal his glowing gaze.

He picked it up and settled it over his muzzle and stretched the elastic over his head to hold it in place. One quick glance at himself in the mirror and he couldn't help but laugh. It never ceased to amuse him how such a silly thing was meant to conceal an identity. His colors, bottom jaw, and ears were all exposed, anyone that had even heard of a description of him would know what lied beneath.

With a final snicker he shook his head and pulled the mask off and held it out in front of him. Its flawless exterior reminded him of the skull capped demons that roamed the afterlife in the less than favorable levels. It was what came of the more disturbing and rotten souls that came to the gods' attention, and after being in such a hostile environment they eventually transformed into true nightmares.

Ruul made his way over to the king sized bed and flopped onto it. He rolled onto his back and continued to stare at the mask, imagining the kind of demon that might take that particular visage. Demons that didn't develop horns were most often murderers, but black eyes meant that they enjoyed the harm of others. He concluded that it might be some serial killer then.

"How do I look now?" Jaid's voice cut through the husky's thoughts and he turned his head to where she stood in the closet door frame. She no longer wore her casual clothes, instead she now sported an ebony dress that flowed elegantly over her curves. It stopped at mid thigh from which it split into waving strips that danced against her knees. No straps came over her shoulders to hold it up, and her bust was pushed up to look perkier than it normally was with a considerable amount of cleavage showing.

What was most stunning of all was the silk medium that it was made of. When the light would catch it, there would come a sheen of light that would play across its flawless surface. Even now as she turned to show it off, the dog god could see the way that it flowed down over her like poured night.

He must have been staring for a while because the mink crossed her arms under her breasts and she gave a sigh. "It doesn't work, does it?" she said, her ears and tail drooping.

"It does, actually. I was just admiring the view," he replied with a smirk.

Jaid's expression lightened immediately and she let out an excited sequel. "Does that mean that we're going?" Ruul only nodded his head and murred happily and she threw a triumphant fist into the air. "Awesome!" she cheered. "Now that that's done I can actually begin to get ready," she sighed and reached behind her to undo the zipper of the dress.

Ruul watched as the mink slipped gracefully out of the article and gathered it over her arm. The only thing she wore now was a pair of panties that weren't the slightest bit to be eye catching, but that didn't stop the dog god from staring hungrily.

Jaid turned to walk back into the closet to put the dress back on a hanger but she was suddenly seized around the waist and yanked backwards. She didn't know what was going on, just that she was now sailing through the air on a trajectory set for the bed. A shocked scream escaped her during her entire flight, interrupted by a "oof" as she landed on the soft mattress.

When she gathered her bearings she slowly rolled onto her belly and pushed up to a kneeling position while searching for the husky. She found him standing just a few feet away and holding the dress that she had just discarded. He wore a smirk as he gently let the fabric slip from his paw onto the pile of other dresses, then turned to look at her.

"What was that for?" Jaid asked, trying to sound angry but she couldn't help but feel thrilled by the action.

"You were going to cover yourself up again," he replied and stepped closer to her, eventually meeting the bed and climbing on to be with her.

"Well, that is what people usually do when they go out to parties," she giggled.
