Chapter 17

Asylum Getaway

Galen held onto the edge of his seat with one hand, adrenaline shooting through him as Mick maneuvered the speeding Audi through the streets of Moon City, desperately trying to lose their pursuers. Runefield Asylum security was close behind them with three security patrol cars, and a few more peace officers had joined the chase as well!

Mick applied the brakes, putting the car into a power slide as the Audi exited a narrow side street, getting onto a main road, Bayshore Boulevard. The fox transporter's eyes were steeled and cold, his face pulled back in an adrenaline-fueled glare!

"Get my father back on that goddamn phone, I want to talk to him!" Mick shouted, taking a quick glance at Galen.

Galen leered at Mick, unrelenting in his resolve. "You will be able to talk to your father all you want, as soon as the job is done." He finished the sentence with a low, rumbling growl as the car rocketed down the road, the ocean and public beach speeding past in a blur.

Mick then suddenly jerked the steering wheel to the right, taking the Audi off the road and onto the sidewalk, recklessly speeding through a recreation park! Mick beeped the car's horn repeatedly as people on the walkway quickly darted out of the car's path to avoid getting hit or ran over!

Their pursuers were even more careless than Mick, as two of the security cars started driving across the grass in an attempt to cut off the Audi, nearly taking a few lounging bystanders under their wheels in the process!

Mick then spun the wheel to the left, whipping the rear of the car into a drift as he guided the Audi down another walkway back towards the road. He heard Xen arguing with the fennec, who revealed his name was "Jet," trying to convince him to release his control on the data feed.

"-Look, Jet!" Xen shouted. "If you don't give me some control, then Mick can't be as effective in this job! That only will increase their chances of getting caught!"

Jet sighed in frustration, quickly mulling over that thought. "Fine. I will give you some control back, but just remember, Xen: I am watching you. So, don't try anything funny, pretty boy."

"Look who's talking..." Xen quipped, then quickly brought up what he could secure on the data feed. The Audi sped down the pathway, jumping off the curb and back onto the road as it darted passed the front of another moving police cruiser!

The pursuing asylum patrol cars were unable to stop in time, slamming into the side of the police cruiser as their lines crossed! The lead patrol car's impact was so heavy, it flipped over the police cruiser from the collision's force! The rest of the asylum's patrol cars and several police cruisers crashed into the wrecks as well in a pile-up, only a few police cruisers managing to avoid getting caught in the mess!

Uniko watched the pile-up through the back window. He then turned back to Mick with an excited smile.

"Woohoo! Ride 'em, cowboy!" He shouted. Mick just rolled his eyes, continuing to drive angrily, going down Bayshore Boulevard once more.

"This is a good time to lose them, Mick!" Zhal hissed, his arms draped protectively over a half-conscious, groaning Master Egad.

"Shut up! I'm doing my best!" Mick snapped back angrily. He saw another police cruiser in front of them in the opposite lane at an intersection, driving towards them to try and cut them off!

Mick spun the steering wheel to the left again and stamped on the brake pedal, throwing the car into a braking drift slide! He angled the car to go down the other street, as the car slid.

In mid slide, Mick then took one hand off the wheel, slapping the flappy-paddle shift lever forwards, downshifting the car into a lower gear! Then he let go of the brake and jammed his foot down on the accelerator again! A loud roar came from the car's engine as the tires spun rapidly, clawing at the road, pulling the car out of the way of the oncoming police cruiser!

This drastic maneuver caught their pursuers by surprise! They were unable to react quick enough, and two of the cruisers collided with each other head-on, along with a trailing cruiser read-ending the wrecked ones with a loud, metallic crunch!

"Mick, I've got your position!" Xen said. "I'm connecting you to a live feed on the Moon City PD's cruiser tracking system and plotting an escape route. It will be ready in a few seconds..."

"Understood." Mick said, keeping his focusing on driving. He drifted the Audi onto another street after forcing a police cruiser alongside them to drive into a lamp post, then guided the car onto a two-direction highway, putting more pressure down on the accelerator.

"So, just was is it with all the getups?" Mick asked with a quick glance at Galen. "Why all the cloak and dagger?"

Galen looked at Mick with a taunting smile. "More questions again... What about your rules?"

Mick shot Galen a quick leer, darting the Audi in and out of both lanes, threading a needle through the slower moving traffic. "I don't ask names, but when someone kidnaps my father, I ask questions!"

"Mick! Escape route is plotted! I'm sending it to you now..." Xen said. A roadmap then appeared on the transporter screen with a highlighted route for their getaway, replacing the previous display of the car's mechanical readouts.

The Audi then went into a long tunnel, cutting down on the room that Mick could use to maneuver. Regardless, he jammed the pedal to the floor! Uniko and Zhal watched from the backseat as the speedometer needle in the dashboard went over 240 kph, and still it climbed!

Traffic got thicker ahead, and there was no way around on either side, but Mick kept going and didn't slow down! The fox then steered the car into the center of the road, going straight through the narrow space between the other cars! He was lane-splitting to get through! Sparks flew from the sides of the Audi as the edges of the car rapidly scraped against the other vehicles! Zhal ducked down, covering Master Egad protectively with his body as Uniko and Galen shielded their faces with their hands, reacting on instinct from the bright shower of sparks that lit up the outside of the windows!

Despite the dramatic adrenaline-fueled display, the Audi made it through the traffic with only a few scratches. Their pursuers weren't so lucky: The small squad of cruisers ended up smashing into the congested traffic, causing another pile-up!

Uniko took a quick glace back. "Holy crap, you just lane-split! I guess you are as good as advertised, Mick!" He gave the driver an approving grin, winking at him in the rear-view mirror.

"Thanks." Mick said, nonchalant as he brushed off the comment without a care. He then shot another leery glance at Galen as the Audi sped through the tunnel. "Look, I will deliver you all on time as promised, but if anything happens to my dad-"

"Stay focused, handsome. Your father will be fine." Galen said, both he and Mick keeping their eyes on the road. The transporter computer then let out a few loud beeps of warning, a red exclamation mark flashing on the screen for a few seconds. The display then switched back to the road map, showing several red and blue dots heading towards them from further up the road.

"What's that?!" Zhal exclaimed.

Mick gripped the steering wheel tightly. "More company..."

As they neared the exit to the tunnel, the rest of the patrol cars crashed into passing traffic due to their inexperience and inability to handle their cruisers at these high speeds. Then, Mick saw what was coming at them: A group of police motorcycles, seven in total speeding at them with vigor! They quickly started closing the distance, one on-mark for a collision. Mick upshifted the car into its highest gear, keeping the accelerator planted as he started a 280+ kph game of chicken with the Moon City PD Patrol Motorbikes!

"Watch it, Mick! LOOK OUT!!" Galen shouted, but Mick didn't relent. In fact, he jerked the steering wheel to the left at the last second, clipping the sides of two of the motorcycles on purpose! They watched as the officers riding the motorbikes were thrown clean off their seats, the two-wheelers sliding across the road on their sides. The remaining five motorcycles quickly turned around, taking off quickly in pursuit as the Audi exited the tunnel!

Mick then sped onto a side street as he followed the escape route, the motorcycle cops being their only pursuers. He knew this chase had to end quickly, or the heat on them from law enforcement would be too high! The Audi quickly approached a three-way roundabout, and Mick saw his opportunity: There were four fire hydrants situated along the edges of the roundabout.

Mick took his chance, downshifting and jerking the Audi into a sudden drift! The edge of the rear bumper hit the sides of the fire hydrants, tearing off the cheap plastisteel covers as water sprayed everywhere on the road, and all over the car! Mick the floored the accelerator, speeding out of the roundabout as he flipped on the windshield wipers for a few seconds to clear his view!

The motorcycle cops didn't stand a chance. They slid across the watery road, the stream from the fire hydrants throwing them clean off their bikes! After that, all of their pursuers were done! No one else was chasing them.

"When you said you were good, you weren't kidding!" Uniko complimented.

Mick again brushed it off, uncaring. "Kidding is not really my thing." He said bluntly, pressing a button on the dash that swapped out the car's license plates as the Audi got onto a freeway entrance ramp, as it started to rain. Mick slowed the car to the speed limit, driving the car onto the express, blending in with the traffic. After he was assured that no one else was in pursuit, Mick pressed the "N/C" button on the transporter computer's touchsceen, putting the car back into normal cruise mode. A loading bar came up on the display once more, filling up swiftly again as it switched the settings back to stock and closed the straight-pipe valves in the intake and exhaust. The engine quieted down, and the suspension softened, the car raising back up to its normal ride height.

"Escape mode deactivated." The synthesized voice said as the same words flashed a few times on the transporter computer.

Zhal watched as Master Egad let out a long groan of pain, squeezing his eyes shut, then opened them again as they started to de-glass as he became more coherent, slowly turning his head to look at everyone in the car. "...Zhal? ...Uniko? ...Galen? ...What's going on? Where are we?" Though Egad was now able to string together sentences, his voice still sounded very soft and weak.

Zhal gently nuzzled Egad. "Shh, shhhh, relax master. Everything is okay." The tiger reassured. "We just rescued you from Runefield Asylum. Your brother kidnapped you, and was holding you there, but we busted you out."

Egad looked at his slaves, as well as Mick. "I don't remember much... Though, that's probably a good thing... How did you do it?"

"Well, we did what you told us when Cailus called the castle using your phone." Uniko explained. "You told us to go into your quarters and turn the sconce next to your vanity to the left. That led us to the Citadel Room, where we met Codec who also told us about your villa here. After that, the rest is pretty much self-explanatory. Galen deserves most of the credit, though. He spearheaded most of the rescue and kept us on track."

Galen turned back to look at Egad, grinning. "Well, I wasn't about to let Cailus kill you, or anyone else. You are my master, after all... and I've grown to care for you greatly. That, and letting a punk like Cailus go around trying to start various apocalypses... It's just not my style."

Egad, though weakened from the ordeal, chucked softly as he gave all his slaves in the car happy and caring looks. "I'm so very proud... Of all of you. I knew my faith in my coven was justified..." Egad rested against the seat, then took his weakened arms and rubbed his hands across Zhal and Uniko's legs sensually, trailing his fingers along their inner thighs up to their loins, rubbing the bulges of their clothing that concealed their glands.

Uniko let out a moan and nicker at the contact, Zhal echoing him with a moan and purr. Both started gently nuzzling and cuddling with their master in the back seat, returning the favor as they kissed him repeatedly on the forehead and nape. Uniko cupped Egad's crotch in one of his hands with care, rubbing slowly, while Zhal slid one hand underneath their master, giving his ass cheeks a gentle, yet playful squeeze as his index finger rubbed up in between them. Egad let out quiet yet erotic mewls as Zhal and Uniko gave him this treatment.

Galen smiled warmly at the sight as he watched. Mick, however, wasn't as amused and light-hearted when he glanced into the rear-view mirror.

"If you don't mind, I just conditioned the leather back there!" Mick quipped, his voice ringing with clear annoyance.

Zhal and Uniko growled softly in irritation, getting ready to say something to Mick, but Egad beat them to it.

"Yes, you are right, Mick... Apologies, transporter." Egad removed his hands from Uniko and Zhal's legs, placing them back into his lap, motioning for his slaves to contain themselves. "We will put off the celebrations until we are safe, back at the villa." He finished, leaning into Zhal's arms with a yawn as he fell asleep.

Uniko shot Mick an annoyed look. "Cock-blocking killjoy..." He muttered, placing his hands behind his head as he leaned back into the seat with an irritated equine snort.

Mick didn't pay the insult any heed as he drove. They stayed on the freeway for ten minutes, and then got off the express, taking the Audi onto a forested costal road following the route displayed on the transporter computer. By that point, Jet relinquished his remaining control on the data feed, and signed off, much to Xen's relief. Xen told Mick that he would swing by this "Villa" later to meet up with Mick and signed off a few minutes after.

After a fifteen-minute scenic drive along the forested coastline, they finally arrived on Cour Le Sene drive; the private road guarded by a large set of gates. As Mick stopped in front of the gates, Galen got out a remote from a vest pocket. He aimed the remote at one side of the gates, pressing a button. The gates parted, and Mick continued up the road, driving the car up a small hill as the gates closed behind him.

As the trees parted, Mick saw the house at the end of the road, surrounded by neatly trimmed grass and hedges. It was a beautiful, very fancy, high-end open-floor villa with three levels above ground, complete with an epic, picturesque view from atop the hill, as well as a large patio with a pool, a pathway down to a private beach area, and a three-car garage. Mick assumed since it was an open-floor design, the villa must have had a pest-repellant field and moisture-dampening field that went over the whole house, as well as waterproofing and other necessary additions.

"Woah..." Mick said, looking over the fancy villa with a raised eyebrow as the Audi pulled up. "Nice pad."

Galen pressed another button on the remote that opened the garage. Mick didn't need to be told: He drove the Audi inside, slowly and with care. Mick noticed that part of the wall in the garage was made of tempered glass, showing off the villa's luxurious interior. Inside stood more individuals behind the glass: Three wolves of varying height, a snowy-white fennec which he recognized as Jet, and a black-furred rat that he recognized as the one who held the gun to his father's head. All of them wore revealing and spicy outfits like the passengers Mick had in the car. They stood there, watching the Audi intensely as Mick parked it, the transporter fox glaring at the rat as he shot the look right back. Mick then pressed the button that shut down and retracted the transporter computer and turned off the engine, removing the keycard from the ignition slot.

Galen then shut the garage behind them with the remote. Once the door closed, everyone unbuckled their seat belts and stepped out of the car, Zhal scooping up Egad into his arms bridal style, holding him close with care as he started to awaken from his nap.

"Master, we're home." Zhal said, nuzzling Egad in his arms. "Safe, and sound."

Egad smiled. They all then went up to the glass wall, Galen opening a sliding glass door, and they stepped inside the villa.
