Ren felt like he was on the brink of passing out and he hadn't even been outside of his office. For someone that went by the nickname the Dark Dispenser, he was more of the Shaking Dispenser at the moment. It likely didn't help much that just moments ago there had come a third shudder that made the entire high-alert staff residing at the capital even more on edge.

The circuits through the city had already been doubled, there wasn't a waking hour that half of the mages and spiritual conduits that came at Ren's call to action weren't out patrolling the city. And that was just when there were two alerts that a divine being had crossed over onto this plane of existence. Now there was a third and they hadn't heard any news of any of them being spotted!

The pencil in Ren's paw snapped, causing him to break from his panicked mind and look down at his desk. He didn't realize he had been holding it so tightly, and it was then that he realized that his throat was dry and despite not feeling hungry, he hadn't eaten anything all day.

He stood up from the mess of papers that were splayed across his desk. There was a considerable amount of reconnaissance that was being planned out, but so far it was all for not. He rubbed at his eyes and let out a wary sigh as he slowly made his way around to the front of his desk and towards the door.

Suddenly, the heavy wood panel swung open and the wide-eyed face of his personal assistant was there standing within the frame. He was a young mouse that was barely a year out from being an adult, once an orphan that had been taken under Ren's guide.

The grand bishop's attention was immediately seized and his eyes grew dark with a hardened expression. This was it. This was what he had prepared himself for. Now all there was was to act and mitigate the damage as best as possible. "Where is it?" the old wolf barked.

The assistant had been just about to speak but his master's words caught him off guard and he had to reorganize his own thoughts. "I'm sorry, sir?" he squeaked.

"The divine being! Where is it?" Ren now roared. Every second wasted was ten more lives lost and he didn't dare idle for any longer than what was needed.

"I'm sorry, sir, no reports have come in as to any sighting of a divine being," the mouse replied softly.

"What?" the wolf snapped and suddenly seized the boy by his shirt collar and yanked him close. The sudden grasp made him yelp and stare at his master with wide eyes. "Then why have you come here in such a rush?"

"The king has requested your presence. He wishes to know all there is about the recent summoning..." the mouse explained quickly, all the while Ren grit his teeth and growled.

"Ugh!" Ren snarled and pushed his assistant backwards out into the hall as he made his own way out. "Fine then. Stay here and take any messages that come to my office. I'll be back in a minute."

The grand bishop held out his paw and whispered a short spell that had his ornate staff materialize out of thin air to then be grasped and lifted. The butt of the gold length struck the floor and a ring of blue light surrounded the wolf. It grew from the floor in a shimmering curtain and the area beneath his feet turned white. Then the whole veil collapsed in on him and he was gone in an instant.

It was a momentary flash within the king's court that had the wolf materializing. He landed on his feet in the presence of several armed guards and magi that all had reeled on him with weapons drawn and battle magic ready. But upon recognizing the newcomer, they all relaxed, save for the king.

"Ren! Maybe use the door next time?" the king rumbled, leaning against the arm of his throne as he stared at the wolf. He was a surprisingly fit cobra for someone that held such a high position of luxury. A fit body made him look regal and intimidating, qualities that made for a well managed kingdom. Not that the snake's intelligence, kindness, and determination weren't worthy of reverence as well.

"I apologize, my liege, but in times like this there is no time that can be wasted with slower means of travel," Ren explained as he made his way through the crowd and came to stand in front of the throne. "You summoned me?"

"You felt that last shudder, didn't you?" the king remarked quickly. "What news is there of the last two divine incursions?"

The grand bishop uttered a sigh under his breath. "I promise, you will be alerted to any news second only to me. So far there has come nothing from anywhere in the city. The populace is unaware of the danger that could potentially strike at any moment."

"Why haven't we found anything?" The king hissed and slammed a balled fist on his armrest. "The nearby kingdoms are asking for any information of the situation and so far I have given them nothing. I can feel them judging me through the aether, my position is being questioned!"

Ren's ears fell back against his head and he grit his teeth. "My liege, in times like this, sometimes no news is good news."

"That's bullshit, Ren!" The cobra roared. "Angels and demons aren't subtle things, they don't just keep to themselves and organize!"

"I...understand your frustration but we must also keep a level mind with such threats possibly being present," the grand bishop explained.

The king's slit eyes seemed to glow ruby for a brief moment, then his whole form relaxed and he sank back against his throne. "I need you to double the city patrols."

"The patrols have already been doubled, my liege."

"Then double them again!"

"My liege..." the knuckles around the wolf's staff tightened as he stayed his tongue from saying what he really wanted to say. "We are stretched thin already and exhausted. Perhaps if we could get some more aid from our allies..."

"No," the king said and drummed his fingers on both arm rests. "Requesting any more aid will perpetuate an image that I am not competent to handle the current situation. We will make do with what we already have. Continue as you are, Ren. Report to me as soon as you've heard anything."

The grand bishop bowed his head, relieved that the interaction was now over. "Absolutely, my liege, as I've said before, you'll be the second to know right after me." The wolf then lifted his staff and knocked it against the floor. The same blue circle and flash of light overcame him, the curtain coming up and collapsing to reveal an empty spot where he had once been.

Fae felt more pleased than usual with this particular summoning. She had made sure that Zakk was greater prepared this time with a bit of an enhancing enchantment made from some of the raw material from the last time that they had summoned a demon. He was stronger and so was she, along with a couple more precautionary incantations that were etched into the summoning circle this time around. They seemed to do the trick, as the angel that now stood before the two, wrapped in several lengths of black tentacles, looked particularly subdued.

In front of them stood the constrained body of a wolf with a thin, hourglass figure. At first glance the mare had thought that she had summoned a female, but after coming to gaze upon the angel from the front, that didn't appear to be the case. Despite the luxurious figure, large breasts, feminine muzzle features, and long hair, between her legs sat the obvious bulge of a plump sheath and set of balls.

Divine beings were the only natural creatures to be bestowed with hermaphroditic traits. Given that the sex of whatever demon or angel they summoned was random, this was a welcomed treat and opportunity. Fae grinned as the thoughts came rushing through her mind of renewed opportunity.
