#28 of Vore Thursday Quickies

A vulpera mage working for the Kirin Tor goes to help with a magical anomaly in Elwynn Forest. It turns out to be a ruptured leyline and something caused it make a portal. Getting trapped inside a cave with an angry worgen while investigating if anyone was trapped inside before closing it.

If you'd like to support me in general it'd be greatly appreciated just go to my patreon or ko-fi. Will be figuring out things to do with the tiers on my patreon once I get into the groove of things again, don't want to overload myself right away. Any support is really appreciated. <3https://www.patreon.com/ookitsuhttps://ko-fi.com/ookitsu

Life was hard out in the desert but the vulpera made it work and now that they were part of the horde it gave them a great chance to see the world. For Ookitsu though it was also a chance to learn as he was able to get access to knowledge and better trainers to become a real mage. He had an affinity for fire magic already back in Vol'dun but now he could cast other spells as good as anyone else. He didn't care much though for the war nor the petty squabbling in general but rather stuck around Dalaran the most as it was a neutral place for all especially mages. Distancing himself from the horde over time and working jobs for the Kirin Tor instead as it had the added benefit of seeing more than just the horde territories especially with the war over.

Admittedly he didn't care much for the humans overall and some of the elves at least the alliance aligned ones as they seemed to cling to their hate more than most. Though he'd certainly pick their company over the undead since at least the humans were honest about wanting to kill him sometimes unlike those rotting backstabbers. Today he'd have to be dealing with more humans than anything though as he was asked to help investigate some strange magic near the outskirts of the farmlands outside of Stormwind. A dwarven mage was accompanying him today and while he didn't know them personally his opinions of the dwarves were higher than most of the other alliance races. Since all you had to do was offer to buy them a pint after the job is done and they're your best buddy afterwards.

Walking out of the horde embassy, the vulpera made his way over to the alliance's since they'd have to check him for anything suspicious. They were a bit too cautious in his opinion and it was a bit silly after all, since if he was to do something to Stormwind he wouldn't try to sneak in the undead's plague or blight but rather just use his own magic. Usually he'd just blink repeatedly to teleport around to the meeting point but might as well take his time before he's grilled by some Stormwind guard trying to find any excuse to throw him in jail.

"Oi fuzzy lad, you wouldn't happen to be Ookitsu would ya?" A somewhat deep but cheerful voice with a heavy accent asked from behind him. Turning around it was indeed a dwarf and they were wearing a dark blue robe with the Kirin Tor insignia on it, likely specialized in frost magic. Ookitsu nodded in response. "Good! Let's get out of here then get that job done and we can grab a pint after." Before the vulpera could speak, the dwarf interrupted him. "No need to buy me a pint either, heard about ya from me cousin and I owe you for saving his sorry ass."

"Ah so you're related to Broff then?" Ookitsu asked to be sure, since you never know it could have been another one.

"Aye that be the one. Names Torin, by the way pleasure to meet ye." He then gave Ookitsu a big slap on the back and grasped his shoulder. "I hear the old wolf is especially grumpy today so we'll try to get out of the city immediately."

"Don't leave my side to get something out of the bank for a second like Faldar did then he was apologizing for a week about getting me thrown in jail. Good guy but doesn't always think things through." Seeing the embassy around the corner already dreading what was to come.

"Aye that draenei likes to believe in the best of everyone. Good man, but gullible as hell. Broff actually convinced him to pay for his tab at Goldshire after a few drinks too many, the poor fellow." Walking through the entrance Ookitsu hands his staff and reagent bag to Torin as they wave to the guard on duty. "Morning sir, we're off to Stormwind on Kirin Tor business."

The guard glared at Ookitsu, sneering at him as he said, "Having to scrape the bottom of the barrel again for job partners I see." Spitting on the ground in front of the vulpera. "Makes me sick they're letting these horde scum come..."

"This is Kirin Tor business not alliance or horde lad." Grabbing Ookitsu around the shoulder and tugging him against the dwarf as he continued. "And I'll have ye know that he's saved many an alliance town selflessly in the name of the Kirin Tor." A lie admittedly since the job he did with their cousin was in neutral territory. "Now let us go through before I get your captain, he's my drinking body after all. Man can't drink worth a damn compared to me though." Torin let out a hearty laugh before pushing through.

The guard continued to glare as the two of them walked right on through, once he was out of earshot though Ookitsu would whisper, "Do you actually know the captain?"

Torin responded with a whisper albeit a tad louder, "No but it worked and now we don't have to wait a whole hour for them to clear you." Things went rather smoothly through the rest of the embassy, several guards still glared and clutched their weapons but he was used to it at this point. "Don't think I've ever had one of your kind with me in here but they certainly seem on edge."

"They're always like this but I'm used to it by now. Not really sure why I keep getting these missions honestly, seems like it causes more problems than it solves." Ookitsu doing his best not to look any of the guards in the eye since they seem to take it as a challenge.

"You're good people, you saved that sorry excuse for a cousin after all and I have a feeling you did all the work knowing him. Khadgar is trying to make the factions play nice though." Arriving in the courtyard they made their way over to the portals and waved to the mage maintaining them all currently. "Any news we should know before we pass through?"

"Genn is screaming about Sylvanas escaping some trap again and is blaming us for letting horde spies through. The council sure they don't want to just send a safer pair to do the job? No offense, Genn might just have you jailed until we can get you released." The human mage sounded tired but Ookitsu couldn't detect any hate behind their words.

"None taken, definitely don't want to spend any time in the stockades again anyways. They got really mad last time too since I conjured food and drinks. If it wouldn't have caused issues for the Kirin Tor I would have just teleported myself out." The other two mages gave him a puzzling look. "Don't give me that look, you should always keep spare reagents hidden on your person."

"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that. Best of luck to you two, sounds like you guys got an easy job today." The human mage gave a tired wave goodbye as the two walked through the portal.

Unsurprisingly once Ookitsu passed through into the portal room in Stormwind he found himself being targeted immediately with a silencing spell and swords pointing at him. "Hey Jim, how's the wife? Or is it George? I get you two mixed up." Ookitsu's tone certainly wasn't helping him but he was confident he'd be fine.

The fancier looking guard then turned into a worgen likely to make himself look more intimidating before barking out. "Go back through the portal or it's the stockades for you Sylvanas spy."

"You really think I'd side with that banshee? The undead are less trustworthy than all of you combined." Being called a horde spy was one thing but to be accused of siding with her made his fur stand on end.

Torin tried to calm down the situation by getting between the two. "We're all on the same side here lads. If it'd help ease your mind, send one of your guards with us or if you'd prefer I could go get a council member to meet with King Wrynn."

The king had been the one to have the Kirin Tor notified in the first place and with one of this captain's guards likely delivered it. Only reason he'd be here instead of in his quarters is that he knew the Kirin Tor would send him or another one of the horde races. There was an awkward silence for a few seconds as the worgen's face grew more disgruntled. "Fine you may pass but we'll be watching." Turning around to head back to their office defeated for now.

Ookitsu felt a bit over confident as he said, "Give the SI-7 my regards, we'll try to make it quick so they don't have to follow us too long." The guard captain hits the wall, annoyed by their powerlessness right now.

Making their way out of the portal room and down the winding stairs of the tower in the mage district. Torin handed Ookitsu back their reagent bag and staff before saying, "You sure that was wise? Could have tried to be a little nicer."

"I'm not just going to just let them accuse me of siding with her plus the city guards are always jerks. Usually only the worst people become one in my experience since it gives them a power trip and that goes for either faction." Reaching the base of the tower, they stood in the grass while a summoning circle filled with arcane runes surrounded the vulpera's hand. A few seconds later a floating disk with two red and one blue crystals around it appeared. Hopping onto and flying around the dwarf a few times while he waited for them to mount up.

"Wouldn't hurt to try though but aye not a thing you want to be accused of. I tried using one of those but I kept losing my balance and falling off, certainly feel a lot safer on my gryphon." Torin then pulled out an enchanted whistle and blew into it. It took a minute but eventually a gryphon came flying through a portal in the air, landing next to the dwarf. "Need to make a quick stop in the dwarven district then we'll head out."

With that they were off, making sure to stick close to Torin's gryphon in case any gryphon riding guards flew by. In the dwarven district Ookitsu had stayed partially outside though stayed by the open door in case any trouble happened. Sitting on his flying disk while he pet the gryphon's head, ruffling its feathers some. It ended up taking longer than expected but had little trouble at least since the mostly dwarf filled district went about their own business. He did try to see if he could spot the SI-7 agent for the fun of it though. Sometimes they'd give themselves away but this one, if there was one anyways was being extra careful. At least until a loose shingle on a roof two buildings down fell off. Not letting any noise escape his muzzle but glancing that way slightly while mouthing the words, "Hello, up there."

Based on the noise his large ears were able to pick up they moved immediately to a new location, possibly onto the building behind him but he wasn't sure. It remained uneventful for a few more minutes, the gryphon having pulled it's head away to preen its feathers. Eventually the SI-7 agent revealed themselves though, a human female dropping her invisibility and Ookitsu gave them a casual wave. "Genn is on his way, I recommend you leave immediately." Nodding in acknowledgement as she disappeared into the shadows once more.

Peeking his head into the house, spotting another dwarf refusing to let Torin leave. "We got to go. Genn is heading in this direction. Promise I'll return this guy to you in one piece later." Ookitsu then watched the dwarf give up and say his goodbyes to Torin.

Ookitsu waited on his disk while Torin came out and hopped onto his gryphon. "Thought I was never going to escape that chatterbox. Should have saved me sooner. Is he actually coming or was that an excuse."

"Your gryphon kept me company so it was fine and our friend revealed themself to announce that fact." Not wanting to waste any time especially with the old wolf on the prowl, Torin took off with Ookitsu following right behind him. Once they were outside the walls, Ookistu felt like he could relax a bit more and started to have some fun with his flying. Being a bit faster than the gryphon allowed him to do some tricks, a few of which seemed to panic the poor dwarf some.

Upon arriving at their destination, they could see the wild and sparking purple and blue arcane energy erupting from the ground. Torin went to land his gryphon but Ookitsu being confident in his abilities unsummoned his disk returning it to his room in Dalaran. The vulpera free falling for most of it before casting slow fall on himself in the last twenty feet and striking a pose in the air as he glided down gently. Torin shook his head though once he landed and said, "You're going to hurt yourself doing that one of these days." Hopping off of his gryphon and patting her beak before giving her a snack. "Go back to the stable girl." The gryphon then flew off, disappearing mid air.

"Got to have a little bit of fun with it plus it is an easy enough trick. Looks like we either have an amature tapping into a leyline or spontaneous wild magic though. Surprised Kalecgos didn't send a blue dragon with us to fix this if it is a leyline. Doesn't look too bad we should be able to fix this relatively quickly on our own." Approaching the swirling purple and blue energy, Ookitsu grabbed a stick on the forest floor up and tossed it into it. Unfortunately for them the stick vanished in thin air. "Great, it's a wild portal. Guess I'll enter it to make sure no one ended up inside it since it would be problematic if I'm out here on my own."

"The stick could have just disintegrated, we have to be careful with this sort of thing." Ookitsu then picked up a longer stick and stuck it in and out of the wild magic. Watching as it disappeared and reappeared with no sign of damage. "Fair enough, so it is a portal. Lets get some rope in case it leads to the twisting nether or some place inhospitable." They then proceeded to grab a rope from Torin's bag and tie it around Ookitsu's waist before he jumped inside.

Emerging on the other side of the portal in a cave filled with magical, glowing crystals. It was still a bit dark but the faint glow and vulpera's low light vision made it easy enough to see most things. "Hello, anyone here?" Wandering deeper into the cave, looking for any sign of life while the rope stayed slack, ready to tug on it at a moment's notice if anything went wrong. Hearing something but the echo in the cave making it hard to place exactly where it originated from. "I'm with the Kirin Tor, I'm here to help."

Hearing something behind him, Ookitsu blinked forwards, barely evading a sword as it came slashing down at him. The rope going taut for a moment from the blink before the sword cutting it made it fall on the ground. Torin's emergency escape spell on the rope made it pull completely back the moment it was tugged harshly by the blink but with it cut, his line back to the exit was gone. Turning to see his attacker, spotting a black furred worgen in training armor. "Die horde scum, for the alliance!" The worgen yelled out, starting to chase after Ookitsu.

Casting an ice nova to stop them in their tracks and avoid hurting the worgen while he got more distance between them. "I'm here to save you, you idiot. Now drop the sword so we can both make it out of here alive." The wild energy all around him would admittedly make casting difficult since one stray spell could destabilize things with all the raw wild magic around. So even though this wasn't an experienced fighter this would be difficult. Torin wouldn't be able to help either since he'll have to wait for the Kirin Tor to send back up once he gets an emergency message sent to the council.

Ookitsu underestimated the worgen's raw strength as they broke free from the ice on the ground after a few seconds and charged once more. "Lies! It must have been you that put me in this cursed place." The worgen swung his sword wildly as he got closer to Ookitsu.

He continued to root him in place and blink away, it fell on him to try and de escalate things to the best of his capabilities before he could take action. Nothing was getting through to the reckless worgen though and after one too many close calls enough was enough. "Fine if you won't listen to reason then try this on for size." Rooting him in place one last time before double blinking away to cast his improved polymorph that he'd been researching. They broke free but before he could get in swinging range again, Ookitsu finished his cast and a poof of smoke enveloped the worgen.

A sword could be heard clanging against the rocky ground and the worgen's cries replaced with that of a house cat's yowling. The smoke cleared away quickly after revealing the worgen was turned into a house cat. Instead of looking down on the vulpera, he now had to look up at him. Cat's back arching and fur standing on end as they freaked out and hissed before swiping at the vulpera's muzzle.

"There maybe now you can behave until I can find our way back out." Scratching the back of his head while staying just out of reach for the cat to claw his face. "Was there anyone else with you? I'm just trying to help, honest. There's a dwarf mage sitting right outside of the portal into this place. I just need to make sure there's no one trapped in here before we close it."

Predictably the cat wasn't being helpful as they continued to try and attack. Moving on, Ookitsu wandered around the cave trying to find any sign of where he entered from or if anyone else was here. It was unfortunately difficult as the fight caused him to move so much deeper than he initially intended. If it was safe, he'd just teleport himself out but opening a portal here could have disastrous results.

After a while Ookitsu started to get hungry, sitting down and grabbing emergency rations from his bag. Trying to avoid using magic at all costs for the time being, his fight with the worgen could have already upset things. The cat had stopped attacking but kept his eyes on the vulpera. "Surely you have to be hungry, you've been down here I don't know how long." Taking a bite of his jerky to show it's not poisoned before breaking off a piece and trying to give them some. The cat just swiped at his hand though, rejecting the offer with a hiss. "Have it your way."

Eventually the cat got a bit of their fighting spirit back though as they jumped on Ookitsu's back and clawed at it. A small flame appearing on their back as he started to cast combustion then canceled it just to get their attack off. The cat's belly fur barely singed from the magic as they leapt off before trying to go for another swipe. "Enough!" Ooktsu shouted. "I have tried to be nice, I have tried to do everything I can to help you. I even went as far as to turn you into a cat to hopefully get you to stop attacking. Clearly though I should have learned how to turn people into squirrels or a rabbit."

They had certainly screwed themself over and they knew it as an ice nova went off one last time preventing them from running away. Feeling the vulpera's hand grasp the scruff of their neck before dropping the spell to lift them straight into the air. Their body freezing and curling up some on reflex. Looking down they'd see Ookitsu's jaws opening before getting lowered down into it. Trying to squirm out of the grip but the hold practically paralyzed them.

He had never tried this before but had seen the Sethrak do it on several occasions to small critters. Ookitsu could feel the cat's tail and hind quarters come in contact with his tongue. Tasting that fur while he tried to relax his jaws and continue onwards. Lowering them further, he soon felt the cat come in contact with his throat and gave his first swallow. A bit to his surprise his throat was able to accept the cat, pulling most of the lower half into it. Taking a moment to allow his throat to stretch comfortably, and actually enjoy the moment in a way.

It was relatively easy he found as he took one more swallow claiming basically everything but the cat's neck and head into his throat once he let the scruff go. Closing his jaws to seal the cat in darkness before taking one last swallow, feeling the feeling disappear down past his throat and fill out his stomach. Coughing a little once the job was done, since he didn't get enough air down before trying to do this. Bits of the cat's fur coming out of his mouth as he did so.

Reaching into his bag, Ookitsu grabbed a waterskin and chugged it down. This startled him a bit as he then felt the cat start to squirm and flail around in his stomach. Taking a few seconds to get used to the strange feeling before gulping down more water. He felt full and hydrated, the vulpera relaxed, rubbing over his swollen gut, pressing down on the bulges his meal made as they moved about.

Once his stomach started growling, it was the beginning of the end for the worgen turned feline. He could feel them give one last burst of squirming as they tried to upset his stomach to free themself. It felt good more than anything else though the feeling was still so very alien to him. Eventually the squirming started to die down as the cat ceased to be, melted down in his belly only to be turned into nutrients now. Relaxing while he let his body continue to work on his meal, feeling over his stomach as it slowly shrank down some but not completely. He'd have to work off that layer of fat soon but luckily few would notice with his robe hiding it.

Working up the motivation to finally get up and look around once more. It took some time but he eventually started to find a tril back thanks to some sword marks on the ground and crystals. Once he was back to where he thought the portal was, he threw a rock through it. Moments later a rope would pass through once more and he'd pull himself free from the cave and back to elwynn forest.

A pandaren and blood elf mage had just shown up to assist. Seeing them fly down and landing nearby. Torin then grabbed Ookitsu and said, "Had me worried there for a moment after the line was cut and there was no sign of ya for hours."

"We're good!" Ookitsu shouted over to the mages that just arrived and gave them a thumbs up before responding to Torin. "Yeah a murloc fell in apparently and I blinked to avoid their slash but it cut the line. Then you know unstable magic caused me to get displaced and had to find my way back. Also a cat was in there and I tried to save it but it just attacked me and even clawed up my back." Turning to show the small tears in his robe. "Long story short, the cat disappeared deeper in there and saw no sign of the murloc when I found my way back. I think we're safe to close it though and repair the leyline."

"Not gonna lie, I was hoping I'd have to go in to save ya just so I could tell my cousin about it but it seems you hogged all the adventure to yourself." Torin then gave Ookitsu a slap on the back, making him wince in pain a little from the scratches right where he hit him. "Ah sorry about that."

"I see the emergency resolved itself. I'm Narygos, Kalecgos sent me once it was confirmed to be a leyline." The blood elf said as he looked down at the two of them. Judging based on the name he was definitely a dragon. "Are you able to assist in repairing the leyline?"

"Yeah I'm good to go and nothing worth saving down there," Ookitsu said as he stood back up. Lending his magic to Narygos as he carefully closed the portal and repaired the leyline. Once they were done, Narygos and his pandaren companion stayed behind to investigate the surrounding area to ensure things were stable.

All that was left was to teleport back to Dalaran which fortunately both of them could do without worrying about the embassy. Upon arriving at Dalaran, Kalecgos was waiting in the Violet Citadel to get the report. It took some time to recount things especially with all the questions about the cave. Eventually they were able to wrap things up and head to the inn down the street to grab a bite to eat and some drinks.
